First Lady has Jason Collins' back
A lot of us 'mos have responded to the news of the first openly gay NBA player. Now this prominent M.O:

ESPN sportscaster says Jason Collins is 'in open rebellion to God,' incapable of being Christian
Twitter is blowing up over this, a segment where ESPN caster Chris Broussard condemns openly gay NBA player Jason Collins. As usual, Think Progress gets up the earliest clip:
ESPN Sportscaster Immediately Trashes First Out NBA Player: Jason Collins Is Not ‘A Christian’ [ThinkProgress]
And in case you didn't realize, Mr. Broussard is actually God's spokesperson. That's actually one of the Lord's mysterious ways: he uses sports pundits to push his condemnations. Sorry about that, Christian Bible...
Liberty Counsel attorney/Liberty Univ teacher likens Jason Collins to incestuous son
While the vast majority are applauding, the inestimable Matt Barber (viciously anti-gay commentator at Liberty Counsel and instructor/dean at Liberty University School of Law) is busy comparing out gay NBA player Jason Collins to a son who sleeps with his mother:
Interesting take, Dean Barber. So I guess we all can add analogies to the (long) list of concepts that we don't want to learn at Liberty University.

Fellow athletes, stars, fans salute Jason Collins
TV's top comedy promotes America's only acceptable option: full equality
From the April 25 episode of The Big Bang Theory:
"Two men or two women?" ask the social conservatives. "What comes next, two and half men?!"
Well, um—yes, actually:
This time they'll actually be on to something.

Jason Collins becomes first out gay man actively playing big-four American sport
In an article for Sports Illustrated, NBA player Jason Collins, who currently plays center for the Washington Wizards, has come out as gay:
Why NBA center Jason Collins is coming out now [SI]
So that history's now been made. Seems like we're crossing off another milestone on a daily hourly basis.
And Collins currently plays in an area (D.C.) where he can legally marry, too. That's one way to get me to a game: wedding cake.

*Note: Collins is a free agent so may not be in D.C. too much longer. F...
IL's top 'protect marriage' guy pushes video condemning gays as 'broken'
As head of the Illinois Family Institute, David Smith is the local leader who works with national groups like the National Organization For Marriage and the American Family Association to lobby the state legislature on the subject of marriage. The truth, however, is that Mr. Smith is actually lobbying against gay people being, well, gay. Here is more proof of that:
In a Facebook post, Smith pushed (and defended, in the followup comments) this video from noted preacher John Piper:
Local 'pro-family' activist Chris Young: God's judgement is coming to Rhode Island
The latest from a longtime voice of opposition in the state of Rhode Island:
And it's not just us activists who are gonna get it. The silent among us can also expect a visit from a vengeful God. Just so we're clear.
As for me, I'm not going to purport to know what the man upstairs will or will not do to those who were too busy to show up and hold a pretest sign. I will, however, suggest that postmortems like the above will absolutely help both courts of law and legislatures of reason to more fa...

Audio: Peter Sprigg repeats FRC's position: 'Homosexual conduct is harmful to…people…and society at large; we believe people should abstain'
What the group that is leading so many of the political fights against us truly wants:
Marriage? Boy Scouts? Employment protections? It all comes back to the fact that they simply do not want us being gay.
When we start having honest conversation about their true endgame, we will rocket toward our inevitable victory.
*Reminder: this is the same man who has previously called for gays to be "exported" and criminalized.

NOM accurately pinpoints its real adversary: America's fourth graders
The NOM writer pretends he or she isn't interested in a debate with a child. But don't be fooled. NOM knows this letter is the inconvenient writing that it all over the wall that'll ultimately stop their entire operation:
No, NOM, we are quite interested in reasoned debate and argument—we were doing that long before you all arrived on the scene in late 2006. But we also know that because we have ably stated our case against your spins and misrepresentations, there is now an entire crop of youn...
