NOM's star speaker attacks me, says 'unrepentant' gays are 'perverts,' repeats belief that homosexuality is worse than bestiality
The National Organization For Marriage's Ruth Institute has held four "It Takes A Village..." conferences, and exceedingly anti-gay speaker Robert Gagnon has spoken at every one. Every year he speaks, folks like myself and Equality Matter's Carlos Maza take time to remind everyone that Mr. Gagnon is one of the most proudly anti-LGBT voices around, with one of his most oft repeated claims being that homosexuality is worse than incest or bestiality. Despite our public exposure campaigns, NOM an...
NOM's new fundraising pitch: Give us money to shape an outcome we can't possibly change
With the months since the November elections playing out like a bad dream, the National Organization For Marriage is simply desperate to find something—anything, maybe, please—that can bring in the money. Their latest: telling supporters that they still have the theoretical chance of winning one of the cases that have already been argued before the U.S. Supreme Court and begging these same supporters to give them money to shape an outcome that they have no way of changing:
First things first:...

From the anti-gay #IStandWithChris hashtag
The ever-charming anti-gay movement of America cultivates more "charms":
**
Note: For those who don't know, "Chris" is Chris Broussard, the ESPN sportscaster who said openly gay NBA player Jason Collins is "in open rebellion against God." Matt Barber, Bryan Fischer, and other conservatives have been pushing this Twitter tag.

NOM's new anti-Obama photo is far too campy to offend anyone
Our President loves rainbows, money piles, and stoic looks. So suggests this awesome new NOM photo:
[NOM blog]
He's like Daddy Warbucks with a Pride flag! Richie Rich in the Castro! The Human Rights Campaign's very own Scrooge McDuck!
This is just one unicorn away from being a truly awesome meme.

What IFI's Laurie Higgins engenders: followup emailer calls me 'twice the son of hell'
I already showed you how the Illinois Family Institute's senior staffer emailed a list of over seventy conservatives saying that I "promote profoundly sinful ideas." Now check this, which a Higgins supporter proceeded to send to me and the entire list:
Keep talking, folks. I love it. So do my side's public opinion polls.

IFI staffer calls my writing 'deceitful, nasty, and juvenile'; claims I promote 'profoundly sinful ideas'
This was just sent to a massive email list of anti-LGBT conservatives. The Illinois Family Institute's exceedingly anti-gay researcher and writer, Laurie Higgins, is the sender:
Jeremy pats self on back, comfortable in the knowledge that he's doing something right.
*For just some of Laurie's harsh (but I'll let you judge if it's juvenile) rhetoric, see her GLAAD CAP profile.

One refreshing thing about the inclusive scouting opponents: they admit they want to discriminate
Those of us who cover this so-called "culture war" have come to expect an opposition movement that will spin, twist, and misrepresent whatever situation is currently up for debate so that they detach themselves from antagonism. When they push to discriminate in civil marriage policy, they claim they are simply "protecting marriage." When they oppose nondiscrimination laws, they say they are "protecting religious freedom." When they oppose programs designed to curb bullying against LGBTQ stude...
IL anti-equality crowd hopes to shame Rep. Ron Sandack (R-Downer's Grove) into voting for discrimination
Republican lawmaker Ron Sandack has changed his mind on history and its right side, now supporting basic civil equality for his constituents who happen to be (or will eventually be) in same-sex relationships. In retaliation, the exceedingly anti-gay Illinois Family Institute will spend this upcoming Saturday morning standing outside the legislator's office in protest:
I think Rep. Sandack should stand up and speak out. Look this, an organization that aggressively supports the idea that gays ca...
NOM crowdsourcing its messaging
The latest post on NOM's Facebook:
As we'd expect, the vast majority of NOM supporters have responded with some sort of biblical argument, even though our debate is about *CIVIL* marriage. Though surprisingly, none of them seem to mention the many concepts (man and many wives; man, wives and concubines; virgin and rapist; male warrior and POW; man, woman, and the woman's property (i.e slaves); etc.) that a logical extension of biblical marriage "tradition" would demand.
