Conservative activist (who happens to also be a judge) Antonin Scalia once again attacks LGBT rights
Speaking to an event put together by the uber conservative Federal Society, uber conservative Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia implied that his court has been "inventing new minorities":
“It's not up to the courts to invent new minorities that get special protections,” Scalia said, in an apparent reference to the court's recent decisions on gay marriage and federal benefits for same-sex couples.

IFI's Laurie Higgins: 'Homosexual acts efface human dignity'
And now more from the senior researcher who works for the chief organization opposing marriage equality in Illinois:
"I think homosexual acts efface human dignity, undermine human flourishing, harm human bodies, and corrupt love between men and men and between women and women. I express my beliefs because I love those who experience same-sex attraction, and I care about both their temporal and eternal lives."
—Laurie Higgins
Love. Sure.

Increasingly off-message NOM goes after inclusive military
People like me used to have to really pay attention to find those instances when the National Organization For Marriage drifted from its stated cause and instead delved into general opposition to LGBT rights. These days, it's really darn easy.
NOM's latest cause? Claiming that the military's inclusive service, something the American public widely supports, is supposedly threatening conservative Christians who want to oppose gay people's basic acceptance:

NOM's link points to a report from...
Today in false dichotomy: Fair business versus repudiated science
In Oregon, the debate is about whether or not a business must follow state nondiscrimination laws. (Hint: Yes, it must!)
In New Jersey, the bill is about banning a scientifically-discredited program that tells minors they are broken and in need of "change."
But according to Pastor Robert Jeffress, proud sayer of silly things, these two situations are perfectly contrastable:
“Think about the hypocrisy of this. [New Jersey Governor] Chris Christie signs a bill banning gay-conversion therapy. So h...

Maggie Gallagher's 'ex-gay' summer fling
The one thing Maggie Gallagher has done this summer is defend so-called "ex-gay" therapy, specifically as it relates to New Jersey. Here are two posts from the past two months:
After so much marriage talk, Maggie Gallagher seeks 'change' [G-A-Y]
And now Maggie Gallagher is defending 'ex-gay' therapy [G-A-Y]
Now the National Organization For Marriage co-founder (who has admitted she sees homosexuality as "an unfortunate thing") is out with another round, this time striking at New Jersey governor...
AFA's top voice elaborates: Criminalize gays, round 'em up, 'break their habit'
Listen to how he asks "Do you put them to death?" (at 2:29) as if it's but one among the possible options:
Chilling.
Reminder: THis man has access to the GOP's biggest stars:

AFA radio host: (Anti-equality) marriage movement is dead
Anti-LGBT commentator Kevin McCullough has now admitted the obvious: his side lost the marriage fight.
But coupled with his concessions are last-ditch attempts to paint gay men as diseased (6:35 in second vid); the suggestion that our marriages will lead to men marrying puppies, trees, fence posts, and dump trucks (6:00 in first vid); the claim that incest laws will be the next to go (7:30 in sec on vid); and multiple claims that gay people "choose" our "behavior" (throughout). Kevin doesn't s...
Wait, there's another Brian Brown fighting against us?!
Since the headline makes him sound like a "victim" and the advice is all about how the "traditional marriage" movement can flip the script, I read his whole Public Discourse piece thinking it was coming from the National Organization For Marriage president. But it turns out there is another Brian Brown working against marriage equality. Here is one of his ideas:
“Marriage equality” is the meme that is currently dominating the debate. Even disagreeing with it implicitly accepts its premise.

Groupon's latest deal: Lowering cost of inequality for entire state of Illinois
Republican governor vs. 'ex-gay' snake oil
Anti-LGBT social conservatives are already saying that this has ruined his 2016 chances:
Chris Christie to sign New Jersey ban on gay conversion therapy [AP via Politico]
Of course the truth is that this likely makes Gov. Christie more viable as a candidate. Most of America doesn't even know what the "ex-gay" movement is. When they learn about the movement, most people (even those who vote against our rights) see it as bizarre, at best. When presented with the facts of credible science, there i...
