9th circuit upholds CA's 'ex-gay' ban
Writing that "the fundamental rights of parents do not include the right to choose a specific type of provider for a specific medical or mental health treatment that the state has reasonably deemed harmful," a 9th Circuit Court of Appeals panel just upheld California's ban on "ex-gay" therapy for minors. Opinion below:

PA Family Institute prez on inability to discriminate against gays: 'I'm not so sure this is America anymore'
There have been many generations of this project we call America, all of them with varying degrees of "acceptable" discrimination. Whenever our ongoing American experiment shapes up and learns to repudiate a past form of inequality toward which it showed tacit or expressed approval, there are always some who are left feeling lost. "What happened to 'my' country?" they wonder.
Those who thought our America was one that would forever allow pointed discrimination against LGBT consumers are having...
Dr. Dobson 'shames' schools for not teaching gays are perverse, waged to die for 'sin'
The spotlight has largely moved off of the longtime social conservative, but that doesn't mean he's dropped his legacy-defining condemnations:
"Shame on the schools and churches that are teaching the young that sexual immorality is not an offense against the Almighty, whether it is homosexual, heterosexual or bisexual. Sin is sin, and our leaders used to call it by that name. Now children hear regularly that perversity is a civil right protected by the Constitution. But biblical truth has not...

Audio: Alan Van Capelle at March on Washington Anniv.
Alan Van Capelle is the former executive director of New York's Empire State Pride Agenda, a proud gay husband and father, a Jewish advocate for social justice, and a friend of mine. Moments ago he delivered this fiery speech at the 50th anniversary of the March on Washington:

Foes of San Antonio's nondiscrimination ordinance recruit Linda 'homosexuality is Satan's plan' Jernigan
At yesterday's rally against a San Antonio city ordinance that would simply protect LGBT citizens, Illinois "ex-gay" Linda Jernigan rallied the crowd:
SOURCE: Black, Latino clergy rally against anti-discrimination law updates [San Antonio Express]
So why is this notable? Well, because Linda Jernigan has said some of the most offensive things imaginable about LGBT people. To wit:
-- Claims expanding homosexuality is "Satan's plan"
-- Says: "To say that homosexuals have gay pride is an oxymoron bec...
Brian Brown is an Old Testament warrior (*who admits to casting stones)
More biblical framework from the person leading the fight to stop our *CIVIL* marriages:
"I won't lie to you. We have a lot of work cut out for us, and we'll need as many resources as we can muster to succeed. Sometimes I feel like the Israelites from the Old Testament, when their rag tag army was arrayed against the vast power of the Philistines and their giant warrior, Goliath. Of course we know how that confrontation ended, and we can win a similar victory for marriage if only you will help...
Video: The discrimination is indefensible, the therapy is discredited; truth must be twisted
WND contributor Jason Mitchell likes to call himself "Molotov," apparently because he sees himself as explosive in that tough, no nonsense, "I'm gonna school ya!" kind of way that puts aggression before reason's calmer waters. But to me, that combustible label more aptly applies to the way this commentator and performance artist, much like the outlet that hosts him, so often and so deliberately obliterates the truth.
In the following vid, Mitchell:
Claims that LGBT people are unfairly singled o...
