IN senator: There will be no marriage vote in 2014

Just in from Indiana, via this conservative Republican state senator:

Hurrah! If Delph knows what he's talking about (and he should) and is not playing mind games, this would mean no vote until 2016, at earliest.

Translation: We won. Assuming this tweet holds, there will never be a marriage amendment in Indiana. Mark my words.

*UPDATE: CONFIRMED! There will be no 2014 vote!!

Photo: Indiana pastors inadvertently (and hilariously) argue for polygamy

Just seen at the Indiana statehouse:

Well, to be fair, a man with several wives does have biblical root.

Rapper equates homosexuality with pedophilia, Down Syndrome; is the 'victim,' natch

In his Youtube song "Same Love (A Response)," Christian rapper Bizzle directly equates homosexuality with pedophilia:

And he makes a truly offensive "point" about Down Syndrome and its supposed relation to being gay:

But he's the victim, ya'll. Here, let the rapper and a complacent media outlet tell you why gay people are the true intolerants for refusing to accept his crude intolerance:

M,F, ___: Facebook allows users to customize gender

Screen Shot 2014-02-13 At 1.10.41 Pm

In an overdue move, Facebook has changed its options so that users can customize their gender beyond the two m/f boxes:

APNEWSBREAK: NEW GENDER OPTIONS FOR FACEBOOK USERS [AP]

Social conservatives will simply applaud this as a rational move to more ably encompass the full spectrum of our world. Right?

Says the partisan special interest that politicizes marriage...

The National Org. For Marriage is a single issue organization trying to shape marriage policy and use this fight as a wedge that helps elect conservative Republicans. Yet this is NOM's new admonishment and/or warning:

[NOM]

Really NOM? Did you write this from your K Street office in between calls with Congressman Huelskamp and Congressman Weber, both of whom are carrying marriage bills for which you are lobbying? I'm surprised you even had the time, what with the political rally you are sponsor...

Al Mohler could've saved us a lot of time if he'd issued this directive ten years ago

In an article decrying today's decision on marriage in his home state of Kentucky, Southern Baptist Theological Seminary president Albert Mohler writes the following about what he sees as the Christian calling:

Mohler-1Christians who affirm the biblical understanding of marriage as the union of a man and woman must now recognize that we can no longer count upon the government and its laws to reflect that understanding. Even the proponents of same-sex marriage must surely recognize the radical legal an...

NOM's increasing desperation: Now with more polygamy!

With absolutely nothing from the kitchen sink sticking to any wall in any area, the National Organization For Marriage is now raising the incline on its fear-geared "slippery slope." Check out this noise, reacting to today's decision (by a conservative judge, importantly) that the state of Kentucky must recognize out-of-state same-sex unions:

"If the decision is upheld, Kentucky will have to recognize as marriages same-sex relationships that were given marriage certificates in other nations, b...

FRC condemns 'activist judge' (*who was appointed by George H.W. Bush on Mitch McConnell's advice)

Family Research Council on today's historic ruling bringing out-of-state marriage recognition to Kentucky:

"This ruling is another example of the deep betrayal of a judicial system infected with activist judges who are legislating from the bench. If these judges want to change duly enacted laws passed by the people and their representatives, they should resign their life-time appointments to the bench and run for the state legislature or Congress. Judge Heyburn is elevating his own ideology ov...

Video: AIDS is a vindictive God's bioweapon

An old nugget is rebooted for the millennial generation:

I would ask this gent about Sub-Saharan Africa and other locales where heterosexual sex is the number one way in which the virus is transmitted, and at pandemic levels. But something tells me both his bubble and his intention are much too limited.

Reality TV? DOJ? It's all the same in NOM's bizarre game

Q. How ridiculous has the ever-failing National Organization For Marriage become?

A. Ridiculous enough to compare US Attorney General Eric Holder's fair implementation of federal marriage rights, protections, and benefits to a situation involving a reality TV star who made racially insensitive and anti-gay comments during a promotional interview.

This comes from NOM's latest fundraising beg, which is themed around the AG's recent directives on behalf of married same-sex couples:
