"The Star"
12x18" Original Acrylic Painting $5000 may be available HERE
Prints & canvases from $9.99 on sale HERE

The original painting is framed (18x24" framed)- she may be sold or it may be still available, again - contact the gallery at email info@alexieragallery.com or call 541.525.7978 or visit their website HERE
The Star is my card for the Lowbrow Tarot - a tarot themed book & exhibition being held at Alexi Era Gallery at their new Eugene Oregon location! "The Star" is a fun card - it has a lot of great symbolism traditionally - it's a "hopeful" card, with the main figure always pouring out two water jugs (she has one in her other hand too). I always equate the figure in The Star with the ancient Greek Goddess of Youth - "Hebe" - she always has a couple of pitchers/cups pouring from either hand, so I have given her some of the classical aspects of Hebe as well. If you look closely you'll see a lovely ibis bird (the type that sometimes lands in my backyard in Florida!) in the distance - they are usually in the background of the Star cards in traditional tarot decks like the Rider Waite, etc.
Prints are at Strangeling.com here , we have small and big glossy paper prints - signed on the back by me - on sale this week (only $9.99 and $19.99). We also have limited edition canvases for $125 - they are 11x16", hand embellished by me in acrylic paints, signed & numbered out of only 25 made, wrapped on boards and ready-to-hang. All are at the link above, or just search "Star Tarot" up at Strangeling.com
We also have all the various print types on eBay here

"Alice in a Klimt Dream"
16x20" Original Acrylic Painting $6800 SOLD
Prints & canvases from $9.99 on sale HERE

“Alice in a Klimt Dream” 16x20" Original Acrylic Painting $6800 SOLD - prints & canvases from only $9.99 available here (or just search: Klimt at Strangeling.com )
This piece debuted & sold as part of my “Allusions and Allegories” show at the Corey Helford Gallery in LA and is an illustration destined for my Alice in Wonderland oracle deck. “Alice in a Klimt Dream” – as part of my “Alice in Other Lands” series (based on artists throughout history) – this one of course focusing on Gustav Klimt. I love the ape, and the Beethoven Frieze. The portrait of his Adele Bloch-Bauer has a bit of a Queen of Hearts nod. In the original painting I overlaid the shiny bits with gold paint – turned out lovely. The Allusions in this one specifically are to Alice in Wonderland (part of my Alice in Other Lands series, where different artists from past centuries are referenced) and 19th Century Austrian master Gustav Klimt – many pieces & design elements of his are referenced in this piece.
Prints are at Strangeling.com here , we have 8x10" and 12x16" glossy prints - signed on the back by me - on sale this week (only $9.99 and $19.99). We also have Masterpiece Limited edition Canvases for $595 - they are full sized big 16x20" canvases, hand embellished by me in acrylic paints, signed & numbered out of only 5 made, wrapped on boards and ready-to-hang. We also have (on sale for only $90 this week) the open edition canvases which are gorgeous as well! All are at the link above, or just search "Klimt" up at Strangeling.com
We also have all the various print types on eBay here (including the #1 Masterpiece LE)
and Etsy here
You can also see the original painting still while it hangs at the Corey Helford Gallery (downtown LA, Gallery 2) through August 20th in person =)©Jasmine Becket-Griffith

"Allegory of Infinity"
12x16" Original Acrylic Painting $5000 SOLD
Prints & canvases from $13.99 on sale HERE

“Allegory of Infinity” 12x16" Original Acrylic Painting $5000 SOLD - prints & canvases from only $13.99 available here (or just search: Infinity at Strangeling.com )
This piece debuted & sold as part of my “Allusions and Allegories” show at the Corey Helford Gallery in LA.
This piece debuted & sold as part of my “Allusions and Allegories” show at the Corey Helford Gallery in LA. In this piece I have three maidens, holding hands to create a circle (like the traditional Greco-Roman “Three Graces”) – in front of them is an Ouroboros (ancient circular symbol consisting of a snake biting its own tail, representing infinity, often used in alchemical texts). Also referencing some Dutch nautilus shell vessels (the spiral of the nautilus representing a perfect infinite repetition), this symbolic painting illustrates various imagery associated with infinity.
We have glossy prints signed on the back by me on sale this week at the link above (or just go to strangeling.com and search : Allegory ) - only $13.99 for 8x10"s and $29.99 for 12x16"s. We also have the limited edition canvas prints - hand embellished by me in acrylic paint, signed and numbered - only 25 made - 11x14" and wrapped on boards ready-to-hang for only $125. These pieces debuted & sold as part of my “Allusions and Allegories” show at the Corey Helford Gallery in LA.
"Looking-Glass Insects" - from the book "Through the Looking-Glass" - where Alice encounters such critters as the "Rocking-horsefly", "Snapdragonfly," "Bread-and-butterflies," etc. while in the Looking-Glass forest.
Then also inspired specifically by Lewis Carroll’s sequel – “Through the Looking-Glass,” we have “Alice and the Slithy Toves” (the Slithy Toves being referenced in the Jabberwocky poem, and later described by Humpty Dumpty as being a cross between a badger and a corkscrew).
Both are also destined for my Alice in Wonderland Oracle Deck!

"Femme Fatale"
11x14" Acrylic painting on Panel - Price will be $4000 - email info@moderneden.com at Modern Eden Gallery if interested!

Work-in-progress - almost finished! Her name is "Femme Fatale" - the piece I've painted for the "Femme to Femme Fatale" group show curated by Beautiful.Bizarre Magazine at the Modern Eden Gallery in San Francisco.
She is an 11x14" acrylic on panel - she'll come beautifully framed, and will be priced at $4000.
As with my other faux-pixellated paintings - yes, this is what the painting looks like - no, it's not done with a computer, I've painted all the little squares myself. Kind of got an Eve / Cleopatra theme (the snake is based on the one in Winter's 19th Century Cleopatra) emphasizing the Femme Fatale theme.
If you are interested in the original painting contact info@moderneden.com | 415-956-3303 - and after the exhibition we'll have prints, etc. up at Strangeling.com =)
Exhibition Dates:
17 September - 8 October 2016
Opening Reception:
Saturday 17 September, 2016
Modern Eden Gallery
801 Greenwich St,
San Francisco, CA 94133 USA
Unfortunately I don't think I'll able to make the opening reception in person, but a lot of the other artists will - if you are in the Bay Area definitely stop by!

Jasmine's new paintings - Tableaux Vivants, Allegory of Decay, The Star, Femme Fatale & more!

Updates from Jasmine!

I have been busy - a ton of new artwork to show you!!
I am also on my way to Europe at the moment, spending some time at my studio in London, then visiting through Paris & Munich. While I'm gone you can still place orders at Strangeling.com, still bid up at eBay, buy stuff at Etsy, the galleries, etc. - the only delay will be on new orders for Limited Edition (Hand Embellished) canvas prints - those have to wait until I'm back home to ship (August 15) since I need to paint them by hand =) All previous orders have now already been shipped.
While I'm away, I'm doing daily "penny auctions" up in my own eBay store here - 10 new ACEOs, limited editions & more will be popping up just about each evening while I'm gone - and again, I'll be back home in time to ship everything on the 15th. We have also SOLD OUT of the Masterpiece Editions for Unseelie Court: Wrath and Unseelie Court: Sloth - so the #5/5 last one of each is up for a pennyauction here to give everybody a chance
Now for some new paintings!
The first of the new prints available is my "Allegory of Decay" - you can see herhere - the original sold, but we have paper prints and Limited Edition Canvases on SALE from $9.99 this week here
And the other print I'm releasing today is my new "Tableaux Vivants III: Salome & the Sphinx" - you can see her here - again, the original sold, but we have paper prints and limited edition canvas prints on SALE from $9.99 this week here
I have some new work-in-progress photos to show you - one is for "The Star" (for the Lowbrow Tarot project show at Alexi Era Gallery in Oregon) and the other is for "Femme Fatale" (for the Femme to Femme Fatale show curated by Beautiful.Bizarre magazine at Modern Eden Gallery in San Francisco). Details of both are below!

"Allegory of Decay"
12x16" Original Acrylic Painting $5000 SOLD
Prints & canvases from $9.99 on sale HERE

“Allegory of Decay” 12x16" Original Acrylic Painting $5000 SOLD - prints & canvases from only $9.99 available here (or just search: Decay at Strangeling.com )
This piece debuted & sold as part of my “Allusions and Allegories” show at the Corey Helford Gallery in LA.
“Allegory of Decay” is the specific allegory on this one. I’ve used the painstaking process of hand painting tiny squares to simulate a pixelated “mosaic” simulating a fake “censored” area. Referencing Dutch Golden Age “Vanitas” still life imagery (skull, roemer) there are a couple of lovely maidens (kind of a “death & the maiden” idea), one of which has a slightly undead look…. There is also some significant insect activity in this one – cockroaches, silverfish, maggots, etc. Icky! But I love this one.
Prints are at Strangeling.com here , we have 8x10" and 12x16" glossy prints - signed on the back by me - on sale this week (only $9.99 and $19.99). We also have limited edition canvases for $125 - they are 11x14", hand embellished by me in acrylic paints, signed & numbered out of only 25 made, wrapped on boards and ready-to-hang. "Tableaux Vivants III: Salome and the Sphinx"
12x16" Original Acrylic Painting $5000 SOLD
Prints & canvases from $9.99 on sale HERE

“Tableaux Vivants III: Salome and Sphinx” 12x16" Original Acrylic Painting $5000 SOLD - prints & canvases from only $9.99 available here (or just search: Tableaux atStrangeling.com )
This piece debuted & sold as part of my “Allusions and Allegories” show at the Corey Helford Gallery in LA.
This is the third piece in my "Tableaux Vivants" series - my series combining my original rococo style portraiture set amongst tiny tableaux "living images" from exciting historic paintings. This one is inspired by Gustave Moreau - French symbolist from the 1800s, specifically Salome and Oedipus and the Sphinx. The beautiful henna-like ornamentation on the large figure is also inspired by the "tattoos" Moreau covered his characters with in his later work.
"The Star"
12x18" Acrylic painting on Panel - Price will be $5000 - email auniakahn@me.com at Alexi Era Gallery if interested!

Work-in-progress! "The Star" is my card for the Lowbrow Tarot - a tarot themed book & exhibition being held at Alexi Era gallery at their new Eugene Oregon location! I always equate the figure in The Star with the ancient Greek Goddess of Youth - "Hebe" - she always has a couple of pitchers/cups pouring from either hand, so I have given her some of the classical aspects of Hebe as well.
The stars will be sparkling as crystal - almost glowing - and the lower half of the painting will be in rich warm tones (magenta), with the uppermost corner around the primary star done in cool blues (as shown). She's an acrylic painting and is a slightly unusual size - 12x18" to fit precisely into the tarot card format the show is using.
If you look closely you'll see a lovely ibis bird (the type that sometimes lands in my backyard in Florida!) in the distance - they are usually in the background of the Star cards in traditional tarot decks like the Rider Waite, etc.
She will be priced at $5000. Direct the inquiries to Aunia Kahn -
auniakahn@me.com
And of course eventually I'll have prints, etc. up for sale as well at Strangeling.com - the show opens August 5 so that will be her official debut!

The third of my “Seven Deadly Sins” collection of my “Unseelie Court” series – “Wrath!” My Unseelie Court series focuses on the darker aspects of the faerie world, combined with historic and art-history references. The first collection in the series featured the Apocalypse themes (Famine, War, Pestilence, Death) and this new collection features each of the Seven Deadly Sins. This piece is an allegory for the sin of “Wrath” – featuring of course an unseelie court fairy embodying various historical, literary, artistic & symbolic representing “Wrath.” As with all my Unseelie Court pieces, this painting includes allusions to several historic paintings – Hieronymus Bosch, Bruegel, Caravaggio, John Martin, Delacroix & more.

My Milagros series is Inspired by the wonderful milagros charms on a lot of the folk art I saw in Mexico earlier this year. “La Luna” is the Spanish word for “The Moon” which features prominently in this painting. I painted this piece for Stranger Factory gallery in Albuquerque, New Mexico (a great city to find milagros charms and lots of Mexican folk art!) – this lovely girl has several beautiful charms adorning the heart, and she has some traditional Calavera face paint on. Milagros charms are typically tied with a person’s name, with the shape of the charm indicative of the healing/prayer wanted (ie a leg, if somebody is praying for their leg to be healed, etc.). They are often used as decorations sewn to clothing, glued to crosses, left at shrines, worn as jewelry, etc., I have many milagros hanging in my studio. The original painting sold at the art show, but we have prints & canvases available now up at Strangeling.com . This is the third installment in my series of pieces featuring Milagros. Also be sure to check out the Hamilton Collection for my series of related figurines inspired by the Day of the Dead, Sugar Skulls, etc.!

You may have noticed I haven't offered many new paintings for sale lately! That's because for the past couple of months I've been working non-stop on new paintings for my summer gallery shows. Some will be going to my Take Over at Disneyland's WonderGround Gallery in California (July 8-10 details here). Some are going to my show at Stranger Factory in Albuquerque, New Mexico (June 3 details here), but most are going to my big solo show "Allusions and Allegories" at Corey Helford Gallery in downtown Los Angeles (opening July 16details here). All of these paintings will debut at their designated shows, and of course after their debuts they will be released online as prints, canvases, limited editions, etc. at Strangeling.com!
Want to keep up with what I'm working on, sneak peeks, works-in-progress, and find out info on how to reserve a painting or buy one at a show, etc.? There are several ways:
*The best way is to see the early previews at Patreon. Subscribers there at the $5 level get to see paintings before everybody else does, videos of me painting, details about purchase info ahead of time, more works-in-progress, etc.
*Another great way is to follow my daily posts on Instagram (my user ID there is Strangeling)
*Or finally keep an eye on my Facebook. Be sure to subscribe to notifications or bookmark my page (otherwise Facebook might not show all my posts).
*You can keep up with all of my upcoming events either on the Calendar page at Strangeling.com or even better yet, the interactive event pages on my Facebook Events here. I often post works in progress on the individual event pages for those specific gallery shows. You can "subscribe" to my Events to be alerted when I come to your area!
