One of the many fairytale-themed paintings that debuted at my Fairytale Fabulous solo show at Downtown Disney's Pop Gallery (also one I painted "live" as a demonstration at one of their "Jasmine Paints LIVE" events,) this is "Alice and the Bouguereau Princesses." Part of my Art History series known as "Alice in Other Lands" (exploring the styles & imagery from master painters of past centuries through the eyes of Alice in Wonderland), Alice & the Bouguereau Princesses evokes the Classical poses & sentimental emotions of 1800s artist, William Bouguereau. I have portrayed Alice as the central character, holding a book of fairytales while whirling behind her emerge storybook princesses including Cinderella, Rapunzel, Sleeping Beauty & Snow White - all painted in my trademark liquid-eyed style. This large painting contains many tiny & intricate details, subtle & brilliant color shifts, & numerous clever art history references. The original acrylic painting & Limited Edition Canvases can be found at Pop Gallery at Downtown Disney at the Walt Disney World Resort. Prints are also available....

One of the many fairytale-themed paintings that debuted at my Fairytale Fabulous solo show at Downtown Disney's Pop Gallery, Inspired by Charles Perrault's original French fairytale Le Chat Botté, here we have Puss in Boots! I've always loved this story of the tricksy cat as he goes on his adventures. My painted version shows him with a musketeer-like flair and is of course based on one of my own cats, Mama Wolf who rather grumpily modeled for me. The original acrylic painting SOLD at the show, prints are now available!

Often when developing new characters or ideas, I paint small/miniature pieces trying out new ideas or refining old ideas. My husband Matt suggested that fans and collectors might want these tiny paintings, so he has cut this one down & framed it in an AMAZING ornate frame that really makes it "pop"! This is a portrait of a very handsome frog painted in a Baroque style. Even though the painting itself is only 2.75"x3.5" in size, with this deeply ornate gorgeous frame it is almost 7.5" wide by 8.5" high. A few new ACEO Cards are now up on eBay, and more will be popping up sporadically over the next week or two. Each ACEO card is a tiny canvas print in the standard trading card size - 2.5"x3.5" - I only ever make ONE of each, ever, so they are truly one of a kind - I hand embellish & paint details on each in acrylic paint, sign them and number them #1/1 (since I only make one!). In this piece, I've shown little Red in a marvelous flouncing costume, enjoying a delicious picnic of grapes, cheese, bread and pastries. In the misty distance looms the Wolf! Also if you look in the lower right hand corner you can see the skull of a wolf - perhaps a little foreshadowing? The original acrylic painting SOLD at the show, but prints & canvases are avalilable!

An "odalisque" pose portrait piece of Rapunzel during a quiet moment. I've often thought Rapunzel would be rather bored up in her tower, particularly once twilight came around and there wouldn't be much to watch out the window. I've given her a baroque/rococo feel with her ornate surroundings and pampered look to her - a lovely painting!

One of the many fairytale-themed paintings that debuted at my Fairytale Fabulous solo show at Downtown Disney's Pop Gallery, this is "Red Riding Hood's Picnic". In this piece, I've shown little Red in a marvelous flouncing costume, enjoying a delicious picnic of grapes, cheese, bread and pastries. In the misty distance looms the Wolf! Also if you look in the lower right hand corner you can see the skull of a wolf - perhaps a little foreshadowing? The original acrylic painting SOLD at the show, but prints & canvases are avalilable!

An "odalisque" pose portrait piece of Rapunzel during a quiet moment. I've often thought Rapunzel would be rather bored up in her tower, particularly once twilight came around and there wouldn't be much to watch out the window. I've given her a baroque/rococo feel with her ornate surroundings and pampered look to her - a lovely painting!

What? Fairytale Fabulous is my end-of-the-year solo art show, a new gallery collection of fairytale themed paintings. I will be there in person to debut the paintings, chat, sign/autograph, pose for photos, and so forth.
Where? The show is held at my gallery - Pop Gallery Orlando at Downtown Disney West Side at the Walt Disney World Resort in Florida. Pop Gallery is located between the AMC Theatre and the new Splitsville, across from Wolfgang Puck's & House of Blues. Parking is FREE - the best spot is usually over by Cirque du Soleil / DisneyQuest. If you are staying at a Disney resort hotel you can take Disney transportation buses to the Downtown Disney West Side stop. You can also walk over from Downtown Disney Marketplace, Pleasure Island, etc.
When? My artwork will be hanging throughout this weekend but I myself will be at the gallery in person from 7:00PM-10:00PM on Saturday December 15th, and I will be there again the next day - 5:00PM-8:00PM on Sunday evening as well.
Who can come? EVERYBODY is welcome. The show is suitable for all ages, children are welcome!

#1 Black Friday Sales Seems like I start getting interrogated about this earlier & earlier each here, hehe. YES we are doing various Black Friday, Cyber Monday & Holiday Shopping Sales. They basically will start midnight after Thanksgiving (Friday morning) and will run to various capacities through early December. The eighth installment in my Poisonous Beauties series - a series of works featuring portraits of faery creatures and various poisonous plants! #8 in this series features the Castor Bean plant! We had some growing in the corner of our yard when I was a little girl and my dad would always warn us "stay away from that!". Very pretty though! . And of course, so is this fairy... This painting debuted and was SOLD at FaerieCon 2012, but I have prints & posters now available. My own original acrylic painting.

Tonight - 25% OFF SALE at Pop Gallery during Jasmine Paints LIVE at Downtown Disney!
Hi everybody! Just a little bit of art news for today, while I get a panel prepped & ready for my live painting demonstration/event tonight!
#1 - Pop Gallery has just told me they will be holding a "Flash Sale" tonight during the event! Flash Sales are just that - a quick flash of a sale, unannounced until that day - and pretty incredible! Since I'll be there in person painting, all Jasmine Becket-Griffith art & merchandise will be 25% OFF. This is the first time this has ever happened at the gallery and the flash sale will only run while I am there in person painting - from 6:00PM until 9:00PM. This sale is only for people attending in person (sorry internet/phone folks!), and does not apply to original paintings. You can park for free (over near Cirque du Soleil there is lots of additional parking), free entrance, no tickets needed. I'll probably paint until about 9:00pm. All ages are welcome! Feel free to come say hi, chat, ask questions and watch me paint! More details are below in this update!

Jasmine is gessoing & preparing a panel right NOW to get started this afternoon on the painting she will be working on during the show! From Jasmine: "As some of you now know, the painting I will be working on will be the latest in my art history series "Alice in Other Lands" - this one featuring Alice in a Bouguereau-inspired fairytale scene with various Princesses, etc. I aThis is a free event, just me & my easel at Downtown Disney - come & watch me paint!
