PLEASE NOTE:  Jasmine is currently in Chicago and/or London!  The evening of October 24th she will be at her event at Hoypoloi Gallery in Chicago – details are here.  Afterward, she will be flying to London for some meetings and time spent in her London home.

Please feel free to place orders here at Strangeling.com as usual!  The only delays will be for Limited Edition Canvas prints – since those are personally hand embellished by Jasmine and made on demand, those will not be shipped out until Jasmine returns on November 9th.  All other artwork, prints, open edition canvases and merchandise will be shipped as usual, coming from our midwest shipping center.

Again – orders will be processed as per usual, but the Limited Edition Hand Embellished Canvases will be shipped upon Jasmine’s return November 9th.

BIG update this week!

Thank you all who came out to see me in Seattle last weekend for my Birds and Beasties show!  All the originals are sold (except for Dinosaur Friends:  Requiem - if you are interested contact eightandsand@gmail.com ).  We'll be posting all the new prints & canvases of the paintings throughout the next week or two at Strangeling.com

Next Saturday - October 24th - I will be in CHICAGO at Hoypoloi Gallery in historic Chinatown from 5pm-8pm.  It is the first time I've come to do an event in Chicago, so please do stop by & say hi if you are in the area!  It's a free event, I'll have lots of artwork there to look at, in a very fun place.  Details are here.

This weekend is the LAST WEEKEND of the Kansas City Renaissance Festival.  In some ways, it's the best weekend to come because we always have it as our big SALE/CLEARANCE weekend!  We'll be running lots of buy-one-get-one-free sales, discounts, and if you spend $10+ you can pick out a free mini print.  Make us an offer and we will hook you up, it's the last weekend so we don't want to take anything back home!  My sister Amber & her husband Chris will be running the shop this weekend - definitely come if you can, details are here.

A very special piece I painted LIVE as a demonstration painting at The Kansas City Renaissance Festival! The finished piece debuted and sold at my "Birds and Beasties" solo show at Eight And Sand Gallery in Seattle. Amber Dragonling is of course part of my Dragonling series (be sure to check out the matching figurine available from the Hamilton Collection - part of my Dragonling Companions collection), featuring a beautiful dragon fairy and her baby dragon protector. These little beauties are sitting in a misty forest glade - a distant castle in the background, and some pterodactyl like dragons flying about.... This is my own original acrylic painting.

We have 8x10" and 12x16" glossy paper prints signed on the back by me for $9.99 and $19.99 this week. New ACEO Cards

I've been working hard on a new batch of ACEO cards. They are now all up for auction - each bid starts at just one penny to give everybody a chance. Click HERE to see them all.

ACEO cards are trading card sized (2.5"x3.5") miniature one of a kind canvas prints.  I make only ONE card of each painting, ever.  I number them #1 out of 1 since I only make one.  Each is hand embellished by me, signed & numbered 1/1 in acrylic paints, authentification is written by me on the backside of each card.  A great way to collect artwork if you are on a budget or running low on wallspace!

Many of these are of paintings you may not have seen before, as I always make an ACEO card for each mini painting and tiny treasure I do as well as the larger paintings.  Since those tend to sell immediately at art shows and live events, the ACEO cards are usually the only time anybody in the rest of the world gets to see these artworks!  Enjoy!

Birds and Beasties
Jasmine's Solo Show in Seattle opens Saturday - details here
This Saturday I'm having a solo show at Eight And Sand Gallery in Seattle! Opening October 10th, 2015 - the title of the show is "Birds and Beasties" and will consist of all new original paintings - surreal, fantastical, historical - all themed around the world of birds and other beautiful animals (and of course my female figurative characters!). I will be there in person the evening of October 10 (6pm-9pm) and the show will hang until November 6 in Seattle's Eight and Sand Gallery.

Preference on original paintings will be given to collectors attending in person the first opening evening, after which online ordering & worldwide shipping will commence.

We'll also have a handful of prints with a Birds and Beasties theme, for those of you interested in prints!

"Milagros:  Corazon"

"Milagros:  Corazon: - The second installment in my series of pieces featuring Milagros - inspired by the wonderful milagros charms on a lot of the folk art I saw in Mexico earlier this year. "Corazon" is the Spanish word for "Heart" which features prominently in this painting. Painted for a Dia de los Muertos themed art show, this lovely girl has several beautiful charms adorning the heart, and she has some traditional Calavera face paint on. Milagros charms are typically tied with a person's name, with the shape of the charm indicative of the healing/prayer wanted (ie a leg, if somebody is praying for their leg to be healed, etc.). I also saw them used as decorations sewn to clothing, glued to crosses, left at shrines, worn as jewelry, etc.

This original painting will be hanging at Alexi Era gallery (as part of their "Amore Vincit Omnia" show) tomorrow night!  The gallery has let me know that they have already sold the original, but we have prints, etc. already available.  The "Amore Vincit Omina" show will have it's opening reception Oct 3rd, 2015 6-9PM, and the show will run at the Alexi Era Gallery from Oct 3rd – Nov 15th .

Been very busy this past week!

We’re getting ready to head out for the Kansas City Renaissance Festival (Details are HERE).  I will be there IN PERSON this weekend (September 26-27) and the following weekend (October 3-4) and weather permitting, I’ll be PAINTING at my easel out front!  Building 251, kinda by the Joust.  This weekend is Steampunk themed, so if you come by this weekend wearing steampunk inspired finery/accessories show them to us and you can pick out a FREE 4×6 print!

I’ve been painting up a storm!  All of the pieces I’m currently working on are destined for my Birds and Beasties solo show opening in Seattle’s Eight and Sand Gallery on October 10th (I’ll be there! Details are here).  I’ve posted some work-in-progress photos later down in this update.  (Members in the 50+ subscription of my Patreon page here can preview the fully finished framed paintings before the show opens, click here for details).

Updates from Jasmine!

Been very busy this past week!

We're getting ready to head out for the Kansas City Renaissance Festival (Details areHERE).  I will be there IN PERSON this weekend (September 26-27) and the following weekend (October 3-4) and weather permitting, I'll be PAINTING at my easel out front!  Building 251, kinda by the Joust.  This weekend is Steampunk themed, so if you come by this weekend wearing steampunk inspired finery/accessories show them to us and you can pick out a FREE 4x6 print!

I've been painting up a storm!  All of the pieces I'm currently working on are destined for my Birds and Beasties solo show opening in Seattle's Eight and Sand Gallery on October 10th (I'll be there! Details are here).  I've posted some work-in-progress photos later down in this update.  (Members in the 50+ subscription of my Patreon page here can preview the fully finished framed paintings before the show opens, clickhere for details).

I have new ACEO cards up for auction!  I only make one of each, and I always start the bidding at just one penny each up at eBay to give everybody a chance.  ClickHERE to see them all.

New ACEO Cards!

For each painting I do, I create a one of a kind "ACEO" Card.  Collectible tiny pieces of art (ACEO stands for Art Cards, Editions and Originals), they are miniature canvas prints measuring 2.5x3.5" - the size of a baseball card or Pokemon card.  Since I only make one card for each painting, they are each numbered #1 of 1.  I hand embellish each one in acrylic paints, they are signed, dated and the authentification information is hand written by me on the back.  Lots of people keep these in binders to collect them, some folks do beautiful jobs framing them - they are a great way to start a collection or to add to a collection once you've run out of wallspace!

Another exciting update today!

"Abyssal Mermaid"

One of my very large marine/ocean themed paintings (along similar lines to my Manta Ray Mermaid and Big Blue Whale large-scale sea paintings), this beauty debuted and SOLD at DragonCon 2015.   Abyssal Mermaid brings us down into the deepest darkest parts of the ocean, the abyssal zones where no light reaches.  Many deep-sea denizens appear in this painting, in particular my beloved bioluminescent creatures - anglerfish, gulper eels and more!  And of course - a beautiful mermaid will swim in the murky depths, accompanied by a sea butterfly, a glass squid, and a darling little dumbo octopus.  One of the largest paintings I've done, I had such a fun time with this one!

Egyptian Chariot - a fabulously whimsical addition to my "Chariots" series, with an Egyptian theme. She's cradling an Anubis canopic jar, sits in a Egyptian style golden chariot, and is totally totally made up in Dynastic glamour. Her balloon also has vaguely Egyptian (in a 19th Century Wedgwood way) hieroglyphs, and in the distance are pyramids in a neo-classical Egyptian idealized Victorian landscape in the background. Love this piece! Framed she is nearly five feet tall, an incredibly ornate 60"x20" frame as shown above, interior panel measures approximately 38"x11".
