Title: Spin (Songs of Corruption #1)Author: C. D. ReissGenre: Erotic RomanceRelease Date: March 12, 2014

Synopsis
Mafia capo, Antonio Spinelli blew through my orderly life like a cyclone.

Gorgeous and passionate, with a breathtaking brutality, he put me under his spell the moment he touched me, drawing me into his underworld of risk, violence and betrayal.

And I found, just as this sophisticated savage didn’t trust me, I didn’t trust myself. Something happened to me. Some alchemy from the heat between us.

I discovered I was a savage, too.

***You do NOT need to read Songs of Submission to read Spin***
TeriLyn's thoughts: 5+++ Masterful Stars
**ARC generously provided by publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review**SPIN! Amazing. Breathtaking. Passionate. Antonio and Theresa will make your Kindle melt.

C.D. Reiss brilliantly masters her craft. Her writing creates a completely visceral experience for her reader, stimulating and igniting all five senses. Her words trap you in the orbit of the world’s she’s crafted muting real life all around you; it’s like you’ve jumped through your e-reader and are completely surrounded. It’s near impossible not to devour a story written by Reiss. And Spin is definitely no exception; it’s well written, it’s concise, it’s dark and light, it’s explosively freaking hot leaving you panting, breathless, BEGging for more. Thanks to the crisp, clean, concise story telling the intense connection between her main characters becomes all consuming. Not only can the woman write the hell out of deliciously appealing alpha men. But she writes heroines who you want to emulate. Who am I kidding? She writes heroines I want to become not just imitate. It’s no secret I like a strong female as much as I like my alpha heroes. Theresa Drazen, who is equally as reserved as she is compulsive, moved right to the top of my list. She’s witty, charming, and strong. In Spin, she’s cracked wide open and the results of that fissure opening inside her will astound you. And, Antonio Spinelli? Well Antonio’s a mind Spining mystery – so complex. Interestingly though when it comes to passion complexity escapes him, so deeply primal his focus and intensity bleeds right off the pages. Outwardly these two are extreme opposites, but as Theresa delves deeper into the unknown we find out that maybe they’re differences fuel something bigger than they can even comprehend. The merry-go-round of emotions these two have for each other releases through heated, savage exchanges so hot your mind melts. Heated arguments rival sexual tension causing the most passionate combustion between intricately developed characters.
It has taken me two full days to find something to say about this book and it’s still not enough to even remotely come close to being good enough to reflect the beauty of Spin. You MUST read Theresa Drazen’s story. There is no way if you’re a romance reader that you won’t absolutely devour and love this book. It’s impossible in my opinion. C.D. Reiss is simply brilliant. The plot is perfect; dramatic at times, passionate always. The characters are breathtaking; Theresa and Antonio are everything you expect them to be and so much more. The writing is exemplary; descriptive but not overbearing. There is humor inflicted in parts that make you laugh out loud. There’s also a certain mystique to Ms. Reiss’s writing. You always get what you need, always. But she’s never shy about leaving the reader wanting more. Because it’s just that good even if the story is not a cliff hanger or it is, even it’s tied up in a neat little bow or it’s not, you just need more of her characters and you need them immediately. As an avid reader and total fan girl of this author I love balancing on the edge of her worlds. It’s fascinating and fun and undeniably entertaining. You want me to believe in your stories? Read them over and over again? “Come volevi tu”, Ms. Reiss, “Come volevi tu.” Bravo.

Release Blitz & Giveaway: Beautifully Done

Title: Beautifully Done (Beautifully Awake #2) Authors: Riley MackenzieGenre: Contemporary RomanceExpected Release Date: June 2014

add-to-goodreads-button31
Synopsis
Diagnosis: Borrowed time Treatment: TrustPrognosis: Beautifully Done
Asher Craig drives fast, flies high, and screws hard. But make no mistake, he’s a gentleman.
He learned way too young that we’re all on borrowed time. Fair or unfair, you only get one ride. He vows to live for the moment because it’s the only time he owns. The past is beyond his control and the future may not exist. With his only loyalties being his family, he thrives for that edge where plunging over is always in the realm of possibility. When a beautiful familiar face tilts his axis, he re-examines everything and realizes that second chances are overrated and a lifetime of firsts are irreplaceable. In the end, it’s not her medical degree but his trust that needs to prove that the ride together is worth it ... until it’s Beautifully Done.

***Author's note*** This can be read as a stand alone novel, however, it does contain spoilers from Beautifully Awake. We recommend reading Chase and Lili's story first.
ExcerptPain pierced my shin and I jerked back. “What the hell was that for?” I bitched at the half pint spit-fire, sporting auburn highlights this week. Sierra changed her hair color as often as her shoes. And tonight she was in some pointy fucking boots.

“You have a freakin’ plane? For real? You never told me you had a plane! Lil, did you know green giant had his own private plane. And he flies it?”

“Hold up, Green giant?” I questioned trying to get a word in edgewise. These two women spoke their own estrogen dialect. It could get out of control especially when Sierra went off on a tangent. And there it was, with both hands in the air, her drink--which I assumed was a margarita--splashed down the front of her light grey sweater dress. She didn’t flinch. Sam, on the other hand, jumped to pat the excess liquid off her c cups.

Cant. Make. This. Shit. Up.

Chase buried his head in his wife’s shoulder to hide his laughter, Lil bit her fingernail, and Dodd feigned a coughing fit.

In her oblivion, Sierra manually removed the red-headed beauty’s hand from her chest. “I’m good, no really. Besides, it’s all padding, babe. Breastfeeding sucks the life from the girls.” If Dodd shook his head one more time he was in serious jeopardy of herniating a neck disc.

About the Authors 7256754
Yep. That's an “s.” There are two of us!
We’re East coast girls separated by Long Island Sound who met in Physician Assistant School and have been besties ever since. We can safely say that thirteen miles of water does not get in the way because we talk or text, no exaggeration, at least 150 times a day. No, really, we do—about everything and nothing. Shockingly, we never (we mean never) run out of things to say. Umm, ever. We definitely laugh A LOT and we’re a tad sarcastic. And if we’re being totally honest, one or two people might have, on occasion, used our names and ‘dramatic’ in the same sentence. But it’s hard to trust the sources since they married us.

It only took twelve years, two husbands, five kids, two dogs, and a two-week vacation in Cape Cod later to decide the romance world needed a splash of medicine. Write what you know.
So you can easily find us at 4 o'clock on Bank Street beach with a glass of cold Prosecco brainstorming. And guaranteed if we bump into you, literally, it’s only because our iPhones are glued to our hands (totally out of our control) either writing or editing our next novel (and yes, it is possible to do from your iPhone, we mastered it … damn those straight quotations).

When we are not working on our book or reading the latest angsty romance on our kindles, you basically name it and we have it going on. Soccer, lacrosse, golf, swimming, dance, gymnastics, football, chess, baseball, basketball, skiing, ice skating, school, homework, and more school.
Oh yeah, did we forget to mention our careers in medicine?

Needless to say, we realized fast that something had to go, so we opted for sleep. It’s completely overrated (yet so AMAZING) and delirium makes everything funnier. Good thing we share a brain and can pretty much complete each other’s sentences (definitely weird, we know), otherwise it might have taken us two years to write Beautifully Awake rather than one.

So that’s our story, who we are … just add AUTHORS to the list!

Behind every beautiful thing, there is some kind of pain...

Always overlooked. Always just there. That's what Dillon was to me.

Until one night.

In one night she flipped my world on its axis and there's no going back. But she has secrets, and secrets fester like an open wound. They color the past and forecast the future, but I'm determined to open her up; free her from her memories so she can live in the light and have the life she deserves.

It's just too bad that she wants nothing to do with me. But I'm nothing if not persistent and I'm not a man that gives up without a fight. I've had a taste and there's no walking away.

Title: Orange BlossomAuthor: Sarah DaltryCover Design: Shoutlines Design18+ New Adult Contemporary RomanceRelease Date: April 4, 2014
"I’ve never understood a year. A year was always a measurement of something bad for me. A year in my father’s prison sentence, a year since my mom’s death, a year left of school before I could get far, far away from here. Now, as I look down the end of my college career, with only a little more than a semester to go, a year seems like something magical. It has been a year since Lily chose me, since she sat with me on the old swing set and made a decision that I was worthy of her. And every minute of the entire year has been better than the last."

You already know their stories: Lily, the perfect princess, always living someone else's life. And Jack, the broken boy, who had stopped believing in hope. Somehow, though, they found each other and what was one night blossomed into a love story.

Now, a year later, Jack and Lily are dreaming of the future. Despite all of his promises to himself that he would never be indebted to anyone, Jack makes a new promise - this time to Lily - that he will be there for her forever. But when life unravels for them, he starts to pull away, and Lily worries he's out of reach for good.

When Jack does the unthinkable, Lily is left destroyed. Is it possible to have a happily ever after? Does love ever really save anyone?

Title: Forget Me Not (Lily’s Story)Author: Sarah DaltryCover: Shoutlines Design18+ New Adult contemporary romance This is a coming of age story, but it isn't always sweet and innocent. If dirty talk, bedroom toys, and threesomes offend you... this is not your book.

"No one tells you when you start school just how homesick you will be, or how hard it will be to start life over with no direction and no friends or family. No one says that becoming your own person is terrifying."

I never wanted anything but Derek, my brother's best friend. When I chose a college, it didn't seem to matter that he would be an hour away. We could survive it. After all, we were in love. But almost immediately, things change between us. I blame myself. Maybe I'm just not sure how to be a girlfriend and independent.

Life seems to be getting away from me - and then there's Jack, the guy down the hall. He's rude and vulgar and my parents would be shocked by him, yet every single time I see him, I feel like I'm being pulled toward him. It's physical, sure, but there's something in Jack's eyes - and I want to know him.

I know I don't always make the right choices, and I'm the only person at fault when everything falls apart. How do I tell Derek, the guy who was supposed to be everything, that I don't feel like fighting for him anymore? And do I run to Jack, when I know his past is way too much for me to handle when I've just turned 19? Finally, where do I end up in all of this? Can I be more than just someone else's idea of what I should be?

LotV
Title: Lily of the Valley (Jack’s story)Author: Sarah DaltryCover: Shoutlines Design18+ New Adult contemporary romance Jack's story isn't pretty. He's suicidal, depressed, and he uses meaningless sex and alcohol to survive. However, the story is about finding light in the darkness, but sometimes the road there isn't always easy to walk.

"No one tells you about pain. They tell you that it hurts, that sometimes it's consuming. What they don't tell you is that it's not the pain that can kill you. It's the uncomfortable numbness that follows, the weakness in your body when you realize your lungs may stop taking in air and you just can't exert enough energy to care. It's the way taste and color and smell fade from the world and all you're left with is a sepia print of misery. That's when the shift starts - the movement from passive to active. I fall asleep, hoping that the morning will bring back the pain. At least the pain is a thing."

I'm a plague, a cancer. My mom is dead - and my father is in prison for it. I survived high school because college was my way out. I needed to escape, to get away from my family and the people who tortured me, but it hasn't grown any easier.

I don't pretend that I'm a good person. I drink far more than I should, and I use my best friend, Alana, because together, we thrive on destroying each other - as well as the parts of us we hate. I don't believe in love, but sex is fun and it also makes me feel something.

The morning I see Lily, the beautiful princess who smells inexplicably like strawberries every time I see her, I realize I'm in trouble. I should hate her. I want to hate her, because the alternative terrifies me. However, as she continues to crash into my life (often literally), I can't avoid feeling something that is the one thing I swore I would never feel. I can't fall in love, because people like me don't live in a world where love saves anyone.

She just won't go away, though, and I don't know if I can keep running. The voices and the darkness hover over me and they threaten to bring me back to the safety of my hate, but the stupid scent of strawberries lingers on the horizon, as something like hope.

Title: Blue Rose (Alana’s story)Author: Sarah DaltryCover Design: Shoutlines DesignWarning: This book deals with topics of abuse and may trigger reactions in people who have experienced those things in their own lives. It remains a story about healing, but it's not always an easy journey.

"Four. My life has been shaped by four people. Four men, to be more specific. My father, my stepfather, my best friend, and my boyfriend. The first two shaped it in horrible ways, but what I am, who I am, is all because of four men."

Over the last twenty years, I've learned how to keep secrets. It doesn't really matter, since everyone already seems to think they know everything about me. So I hide. I avoid confrontation, I treat Xanax like a magic pill that will make it all go away, and I become everything they think I am. A slut. A whore. Nothing but trash.

I can only name two guys who have ever made me feel like I was more than that. Jack is my best friend and I've loved him since I met him. Now, though, he's in love... with someone else, and I guess I need to get over him. Somehow.

And then there's Dave. The guy I never gave a chance. The guy I used almost as much as people used me, because I wanted to pretend I was someone worth loving. Two years have passed since we last spoke, but I don't know how to stop thinking about him.

My new therapist is making me face my past, and she tells me that life inevitably changes without our permission. I believe it, but I know what I am. I hear what she's saying to me, and I want to try again with Dave, to help Jack find joy, to love myself, and to move on. I just wonder if anyone can do that, really.

Jack: New Year's Eve. I've somehow managed to get here, and now I'm wearing a hideous and unreasonably itchy sweater, because I want to impress Lily's family. I want to do anything for this girl who has made me believe in second chances.

Lily: The house is beautiful and shining with light, but it feels empty. At least until Jack gets here. I know how desperately he wants this - a family, love, a home. If I can be the person who can give it to him, it's all I need, but I hope I can keep him from seeing how hollow it all really is.

Book Review: Until Lilly

Until Lilly (Until #3) by Aurora Rose Reynolds: When Cash Mayson was forced to choose between the love of his life and his unborn child, he knew exactly what he had to do. No matter how broken it left him.
When Lilly Donovan was forced to accept that the guy she loved wasn’t who she thought he was and became a single mother, she knew exactly what she had to do. Proving just how strong she was.
What happens when years later you find out that everything you thought you knew was a lie?
Can two people who once loved each other overcome the obstacles that are thrown at them and fall in love all over again?
Cash Mayson had forgotten how it felt to be loved Until Lilly came back into his life. And now that he remembers, he will do everything within his power to keep not only the woman that he loves, but also his children.
The power of love is a beautiful thing.
TeriLyn's thoughts: **ARC generously provided by the author in exchange for an honest review**

Until Lilly is another great installment featuring two awesome lead characters in the Until Series by Aurora Reynolds. It’s hard for me to say this because I loved November and Asher in book one but Cash and Lilly are my new favorite couple in the Mayson family. Ms. Reynolds writes a beautiful love story centered on the development of Cash and Lilly’s relationship four years after they meet and fall in love.

Unfortunately, disaster strikes separately them four years ago but when a change meeting puts them together again sparks once again fly. The way this author always centers the two main characters together, keeping their relationship whole while developing an unbreakable bond between them is amazing. The drama is kept outside of their relationship and doesn’t penetrate the feelings they have for each other. But Until Lilly is not short of drama which is also great it’s just not a cat and mouse game between the H/h. The characters devotion to each other and how they fully trust each other without letting outside influences affect them in damaging ways works really well for this story and this series as a whole. Ms. Reynolds writing is always fluid to read she incorporates the dialogue is great.

Lilly Donovan is a great heroine. She knows exactly what she wants and submits to that want almost immediately. There is no guard up or blame placed on Cash. She’s open, honest, and intimately real and relatable. She honestly shocked the hell out of me, in a good way. Cash Mayson is a good man, a good father, and a good partner. He’s on a path to redemption when he finds Lilly again and his path is beautiful. These two dive head first into each other and their family and the exploration of that has lasting results. The Mayson brothers and their families are back in big ways in Until Lilly and it was nice to catch up with those characters again. We get a sneak peek into Nico’s story and boy, I cannot wait for that. And the villain in this novel is truly evil and her plotting is interlaced perfectly throughout the novel leaving an air of mysterious and suspense. And the way we see Cash and Lilly fortify their bond with Ashlyn and Jax is nothing short of heartwarming.

Until Lilly proves to be another great romance in a series of great stories that surround the Mayson brothers. Cash and his family will melt your heart. Everything that happens in this story seems completely true to who they are and what they intend to represent not only to each other but to their families as well. I really enjoy this whole series but Cash and Lilly have taken top prize for me. And of course, the author’s epilogues are hard to beat they’re so good. I love the way gives us glimpse into the future. Can’t wait for Nico and Sophie’s story!

This book gives you a big eye opening experience into the modeling world. I truly enjoyed reading this book. It is not a typical book that I would pick up and read but I am sure glad I had the opportunity to do so for a review.  Loved all of the characters and the story line. Be prepared to immediately have to buy the next book in the series because I already did before I could write this review.

Book Review: The Truth About Alice

The Truth About Alice
by Jennifer Mathieu:
Everyone has a lot to say about Alice Franklin, and it’s stopped mattering whether it’s true. The rumors started at a party when Alice supposedly had sex with two guys in one night. When school starts everyone almost forgets about Alice until one of those guys, super-popular Brandon, dies in a car wreck that was allegedly all Alice’s fault. Now the only friend she has is a boy who may be the only other person who knows the truth, but is too afraid to admit it. Told from the perspectives of popular girl Elaine, football star Josh, former outcast Kelsie, and shy genius Kurt, we see how everyone has a motive to bring – and keep – Alice down.
Lori's thoughts: **ARC generously provided by Net Galley**

I found this book hard to put down. It was a quick read, but don't mistake quick for lacking depth. I felt as though I understood each of the characters very well by the time I turned the last page. The book is told from multiple first person points of view. It's never confusing, because each character has their own distinct voice and personality. The book talks about how something said about someone, for whatever the reason, can be blown WAY out of proportion and it can literally destroy that person. I loved how the book wove around touchy subjects. I also love how it pointed out how hypocritical some people are. For instance, the woman giving her life up for God, who drags her daughter along to protest outside of abortion clinics, and what happens to them. (I won't tell you, you have to read the book!)

This is a YA with a lesson we can all learn from.
