Review: RAW by Belle Aurora

My rating: 4.5 of 5 stars
I was immediately hooked in the plot and the world that the author created.
I followed Twitch and Lexi’s story with a mixture of anticipation, confusion, lust and enjoyment. I liked the storyline and the twists and turns. The way the author crafted the plot development and Twitch’s character especially, enabled to immerse myself in his story, and it did feel like Twitch’s story as opposed to Lexi’s.
While I admired many of Lexi’s traits, I was left a little confused by her acceptance of Twitch’s character so fully. I know she was plagued by doubts, yet, her doubts never seemed wholly believable. Twitch’s character, on the other hand, was handled beautifully and creatively. I believed in him.
I did fugly cry toward the end and like the idea that RAW is a stand alone. I think this was well played and successfully so by the author.

Christmas Day Teaser
I watched as he stripped out of his clothes and donned a pair of ‘firefighter’ trousers teamed with red braces of all things. As if real firefighters wore any of the ridiculous getup he was changing into, in the real world. He would know.
He laughed at the look on my face. “I know, stupid, huh!” He continued to laugh as he placed the helmet of his head. “You coming to the shoot or are you just going to stand there gawking?” I was seriously tempted to do just that. My bitter side, the side that knew thousands of women would be ogling the charity calendar with Preston’s rippled naked chest made me scowl and ridicule his costume. But holy shit, he looked sexy. I wanted to pounce on him, and lick a long wet trail from the V of his stomach all the way up to his nipples and back down again.
“El?”
“Yes?” I squeaked. I actually fucking squeaked. I was so caught up in my daydream and now I was feeling as horny as hell.
He looked over his shoulder and held out his hand to me. “Let’s get this over with, ‘cause if you look at me like that again, as though you want to jump on my face, I’ll be sporting a hard-on through the whole shoot. It’s meant to be a sexy charity calendar, not a porno.”
I took his hand, swallowed my desire and left the room with him.

Dylan Hart is officially in my top five of all time favourite urban fantasy heroines. Her character has grown and developed so fantastically. I felt completely at one with her goals and motivations. I was with her all the way cussing, shouting aloud and nearly crappy my pants when she found herself in crazy tricky spots. The author, RM Gilmore has gown right alongside her character. Her craft in book two of this series has vastly improved. Her quick wit and fabulous use of imagery made Endless Night one hell of a read.
With book three, Sacrifice, coming out early 2014, I cannot wait to discover what Dylan is up to, especially considering her HUGE and terrifying cliffhanger!
