Cheeky Teaser

Ella’s bff, Jo, is one of my favourite characters. She’s who I would love to be. She sassy, takes no shit and will easily tell you how it’s going to be. The second book in my Perfect Series is called A Perfect Love. Sounds gushy, right! Well, with a character like Jo, not quite sure gushy would describe her ‘perfect’ love.

The End!

This morning at crazy o’clock was a truly amazing moment. I typed The End on my debut novel A Perfect Moment. Just an few hours before this, I had a minor meltdown – okay, I cried and swore and stamped my feet – when my laptop had a melt down and shut down. I managed to salvage some of what I had typed, but lost just over 1,000 words. It seems crazy to think that a few hours later the moment of screaming in despair had turned to screaming and much bouncy in excitement. How quickly our world can change.

It’s off to my fabulous editor, Lauren McKellar, in a few short moments, after my amazing PA, Josie, has cast her beautiful eyes over it.

And I am so damn excited, but freakily terrified too.

Now the hard start really begins. I’m pooping myself.

My husband, who hasn’t read APM, has assured me he loves me and he’s proud of me, and I actually even admitted to my parents a week ago that I was in the process of writing a book. Progress, right!

I shouldn’t already be thinking about reviews, but it’s in our nature. I can respect honesty, but please be kind in the process. I have a fragile shell. yes, I will toughen up – I hope, but in the process, I just hope a few readers out there will love APM and my characters and accept the novel as it’s intended.

To enjoy, have a few hours of romantic escapism and to hopefully like the characters enough to read book two which will be out at the end of the year. Fingers crossed.

Guest Post

It’s great to be a part of From Australia With Love which is showcasing many fine Australian Indie authors. I started writing my first erotic story, The Laundromat novel, two and a half years ago, while. Since then I have added the short story Dolphin Heat and novella Kate Gets Marks.

I published Kate Gets Marks nearly one year ago on 23 March 2013. This was a part one because it is still unfinished. My plan is to start writing the rest of this story   in a few weeks and getting it available as a full length novel as soon as possible. Please buy it now, and look forward to getting part two very soon.

I stopped writing that story because it got too hard.  The story line I head in my head was as follows:

1. Girl met boy years ago and is married with children

2. Girl meets another boy

3. Girl gets confused

4. Girl gets other boy while still with first boy

5. Girl and boys gets confused; that is, girl loses boys

6. Girl seeks consolation and gets counsel

7. Girl gets boys.

I stopped at point four one year ago because the writing got too hard. Looking back I am not sure why because I was always writing fiction, but the mix ups with reality were doing my head in a bit. I am okay with all of that now. It was important to me that I write a complete story in the romance-erotica genre, with a happy ending. I also wanted to explore the theme of polyamorous desire. I am ready to write this story now, and after that, who knows?

I found her sitting at the bar with Stoney. I liked Stoney, but I didn’t like the way he was looking at Madison. “Eyes off her tits, Stoney,” I snapped.

Madison’s eyes widened and I waited for her response but she surprised the fuck out of me with her silence.

“Yeah, yeah,” he grumbled, moving off his stool to stand, “I’m outta here.” 

“His eyes weren’t on my tits, J,” she said as we watched him leave.

“Yeah, baby, they were.”

She rolled her eyes, “You weren’t even standing in front of him to be able to know that.”

I moved into her space, pushed my body up against her side and wrapped an arm around her shoulders. Leaning my face down, I spoke into her ear so that only she could hear me, “I know they were because you’re wearing a low cut, tight dress that your tits are almost spilling out of and it’s exactly where my eyes would have been if I was Stoney.”

“I get the impression that underneath that badass biker image there’s a gentle giant.”

“No, there’s just me, Harlow. There’s no image; I am what I am. Don’t fuck with me because I’ll fuck back,” he said, roughly, eyes piercing mine.

I leant forward, towards him. “I get that, but from where I’m standing, what I see is that for the people who don’t fuck with you, you’d give your life for them. And just for the record, I don’t fuck with people. Ever.”

He stiffened and his jaw muscles tightened. His breathing that had been deep and even was now ragged, and his eyes reached into my soul. I struggled to keep my own breathing even as the intensity of his gaze sent sparks of electricity through me. When he reached his hand up and ran his thumb over my lips, my heart nearly jumped out of my chest and goosebumps flooded my skin. 

Our faces were so close now, and when he spoke, his warm breath touched my lips. “The more I get to know you, the more I want to know you,” he rasped.

Getting a call to come into work at three in the morning is not a new thing for me. I often expect it.

But I didn’t expect this.

“This better be important, Jim, if I’m giving up my warm bed for this.”

“It is Addy. I can assure you.”

“Ugh! Why are you so perky this time of morning!”

“I’m a vampire. I sleep during the day.” I shoot ice missiles at my unnaturally perky assistant as he strolls over the fridge to retrieve the reason I was called down here. In less than a minute he has the body bag on a gurney and wheeled in front of me and sliding onto the metal slab.

“It still gives me the heebie jeebies just thinking about it.”

I glance at him in confusion and anticipation and start to unzip the bag.

The face that greets me is not what I was expecting. I jump back with a shriek. Normally I am fine around dead bodies, being a morgue technician and studying forensic science, but nothing I have seen previously prepares me for this.

Lying on the slab in front of me pale and cold is a face more familiar to me than anyone else’s. It’s my face.
