pop serial #2 video
stephen tully dierks asked me to make a video of my poem for pop serial #2, which is still being funded for the next couple days on kickstarter. the funding is getting close, so you might as well donate some $$$ and get a copy of the magazine. it beats the hell out of getting mugged.
here i am reading my poem under a coffee table.

donate to pop serial, ted and others
i've got a poem coming out in the next issue of pop serial. stephen tully dierks is trying to make this one perfect bound, so he's asking for donations, cuz that shit's pricy. you can donate at the kickstarter page located here: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/10155056/pop-serial-2
also, i voted today. but the only issue i voted on was to change the name of everyone in colorado to "ted." i voted yes. no. i voted a strong "hell yes."
also, because i want you to read the title of this post correctly, i do believe the serial comma is necessary.

the jackalope wars
i got jeremy bauer's the jackalope wars in the mail the other day. it's a pretty dope chapbook filled with poems that don't really belong in this universe.
i blurbed the book. here is what i wrote about it:
if you want one i think you need to contact either tyler gobble or maybe jeremy himself.
i recommend this book for YOU.

i blurbed the book. here is what i wrote about it:
In Jeremy Bauer's The Jackalope Wars, creation is an event that is still happening all over us. And as the Gods continue shifting our atoms, the only response is war. William Carlos Williams said that "a poem is a small (or large) machine made of words." Well, these poems are robots that have turned on the master in the sky. There is fire and blood and now my eyes contain lasers like swirling multitudes. These poems are large and they will eat you.
if you want one i think you need to contact either tyler gobble or maybe jeremy himself.
i recommend this book for YOU.

la soufriere (herzog, 1977)
my netflix dvd didn't work, so, instead, i watched "la soufriere" which is a short documentary about the predicted eruption of a volcano on the island guadalupe and the men who chose to stay behind and face death rather than evacuate the island. you should probably watch it in full screen.

qilut, i am in it
the new issue of tulip has arrived and this time it is a compact disc featuring readings by cool people. guess what. i am one of those people. i read a few poems and laid down some funky beats ye dig?
the issue also features christopher newgent, lindsay hunter, eric johnson, galen dekemper, and more!
here is a picture of the lovely packaging
i would like to dedicate this picture to tulip's ceo peter cavanaugh. marie antionette never said a damn thing about cake. all she said was, "let them hold audio books to their heads and take photobooth pictures."

drunk sonnet videos: for the sake of archival
this is partially for archival purposes but also for me to put into a post and into words my most humble of thanks and my most butt-unloaded of feelings because, in the words of my friend adam lozeau, "you've made me feel like a human being" by making these videos and just straight up being awesome and maybe even giving yrselves a wicked hangover in the name of someone other than yourselves (that being me and my book). and the great news is that the book is almost done with its first printing (of 500). which is pretty extraordinary.
also, super milli thanks to mike young for having the balls to publish a book of drunken nonsense and to ryan call for not being like, "why would you want to publish this nonsense?" in a gchat h2h with mike.
and to julian dalrymple for filming more than half of these videos.
i just watched robert bresson's "au hasard balthazar," a lot of which involves a donkey being abused (that donkey should've won the oscar for best actor) and after looking at these videos again i feel like the opposite of the donkey balthazar (though less of a saint). thank you for doing this, lovely people.
