Oh man, can I talk about this movie for a minute? I saw it on TCM a couple of years ago, and the description said that it was about two guys who are in love with the same girl.

That is not what this movie is about.

This movie is about two guys who initiallyhate each other but slowly come to respect andlike eachother even as they train for war, and just as they finally come to care for each other, that poor sap gets himself kill...
