Haiti
Over the next month, I’ll be blogging about Haiti at least once a week. Instead of providing a news style post, I will be sharing with you the people that I love- the people intimately involved in trying to relocate an orphanage from Carrefour to Ganthier. This work is being sponsored through New Hope Baptist Church in Fayetteville, Georgia. While most of the people involved in this endeavor are strangers to me, I will share the experiences of the two that I know and love.

Julia and Henry have “it”…chemistry.
What is chemistry? I pondered this over a business lunch today. I solicited views on the subject, but truth be told, I have some very concrete thoughts on the matter that are unwavering.
Chemistry is that intangible spark between two people that can’t be explained. You either have it or you don’t. Try as we might to create the spark, it’s impossible. Those unique feelings are just too elusive to manufacture. You may be able to fake it for a while, but eventually the newness wears off and you’r...

Sneak peek…
Researching my next novel, set in Italy, was rough! Thanks to my best friend, Jacy, for toughing it out with me in Como and Milan.
Here is a sneak peek at the unedited, raw cover for “A Week by the Lake”- maybe.
I think I should go back again for additional research before the last chapter is written. Though, perhaps a trip to the Four Seasons Fiji might be a relaxing place to write too. A girl can dream.
Check out the video on my charity page…
The beginning of The Battered Heiress Blues takes place in Chimbote, Peru. Here, Julia Spencer experiences the ultimate grief- an attack that leads to the death of her unborn child. Familiarize yourself with Chimbote by watching the video on my charity page and walk a mile in her footsteps.

Random thoughts as I break from writing.
FLUTTER: Do you remember the feeling of butterflies in your stomach? How it felt to get that unexpected sweet smile and kind word when the monotony of your day had already been planned out in advance? Well, I’m here to share with you that my early Saturday morning hit and run exchange warmed me from the inside out. I didn’t see it coming. His smile was disarming. Butterflies. Moving on-

Favorite things, charity work, a win, and Coco Loco.
Hold please- watching Michael Phelps 200 Fly semifinals…third. Moving on-
I love spending time with friends. Jen was so kind to accompany me to Manhattan. Before leaving our hotel suite for the awards, she took out a bottle of perfume and sprayed. I was hooked. I don’t really care for many perfumes, but this was light and sensual, due to the white musk. Don’t let the lemon furniture polish first note scare you away. The scent that lingers will leave you gobsmacked. LOVE!!! CO Bigelow Lemon No...

Big Apple Adventure…country come to town ;)
Three long days at the hospital preceded my trip to NYC. Mornings up at 4am with a two hour I-20 commute. (Yes…that is four hours in the car each day.) When did I pack for my trip? The queen of procrastination stuffed clothes into a carry-on bag at 11pm, Thursday night, for a Friday morning flight out of Atlanta. Let the adventure begin!
Sleep deprived and enjoying the conversation with my mom on I-85N, I missed the ATL airport exit. Then, I missed the daily parking lane and we ended up in God...

Tragedy in Auburn
The entire state of Alabama is grieving over the loss of three young men. Ladarious Phillips, former Auburn football player who called Roanoke home, was murdered at an apartment complex pool party late Saturday night. While details of the incident are still emerging, Ladarious is said to have been acting as the peacemaker in an argument over a girl. A graduate of Handley High School, number 37 will always be beloved in this town. He was a young man of good character who made time to visit wit...
