When an ending is not the end
How crazy is this?
You know how the finale of Prison Break affected me? (read Monday's post for a recap!)
Get this.
There's more.
Stumbled across a little snippet saying there were more episodes, filling in the 4 years between the brothers & co. being exonerated and SPOILER ALERT Michael's death.
How bizarre.
Why didn't they just continue building up the series, skip a year or so, and end it?
It's like me posting the entire black moment and resolution of one of my books here.
Would you still go out an

What price refilling the well?
In the flurry of the last week, I forgot I had a hair appointment yesterday.
Thankfully, the salon texted me, childcare quickly organised and I was off.
For me, going to the hairdressers is more about the experience than what happens to my hair. The salon is funky, edgy and I feel great just walking in the door.
My hairdresser is fabulous and I have full confidence in her, so let her do her thing while I sip a latte, nibble a caramel biscuit and flick through magazines. I study the latest fashion

Satisfied
It's done.
My contemporary mainstream novel winged its way back to my agent yesterday morning, after another 5.30am start.
I love revisions, how they tighten a book.
I don't love finding that even on the final read through, there are always more things to tighten!
This week has been unusual. I usually work really hard on revisions anyway, but never waking at 5.30 and working until midnight. But that's what I had to to do to get this back in the time frame requested so I did what I had to.
Yes, I pu

Eye candy
I'm exhausted.
Read through over 320 pages yesterday, continued tweaking, tightening sentences, finding the perfect words, on what is the final read through.
As writers, I think we'll always find something to tweak no matter how many times we read something.
Only 170 pages to go, then this baby is off, back to my agent, out to the publishers who want to see it again.
Until I have the energy to write something legible, feast your eyes on this.

It always ends in tears
I have never missed an episode of Prison Break, in 4 series.

Right from the start, it captured my imagination, for the very fact the hero, Michael Scofield (aka Wentworth Miller) had a brain. And solid motivation (to save his falsely accused brother from the electric chair.)
Yes, some pretty unbelievable things happened along the way, and parts of season 3 turned my stomach with the violence in the Panama jail.
But I still watched.

Snippets
I'm exhausted.
Another 5.15am start yesterday, wrote for 90 minutes, did school run, yawned all through playgroup yet tried to look lively with much singing and dancing, needed Nana nap in the afternoon so could put in another solid 4 hours last night.
I want this book done. By Sunday. Book currently stands at 460 pages, with new scenes written, old scenes tweaked.
I'm thinking revising The Dating Dilemma after this is going to be easy!
Amidst my hectic day, this man made me cry. Bawl in fact.

Come out, come out, wherever you are...
I'm halfway through revisions, working 6 hours a day on them, and too exhausted to blog, so thought I'd leave you with this.
And this.
I'm hoping you won't even notice I'm not here...

And this.

For a laugh
I woke at 5.30 am yesterday, wrote for an hour before my usual busy day with kidlets began.
Worked full 90 minutes of toddler nap.
Worked solid 3 hours last night.
Book is going great guns but I'm too brain dead to blog.
So this joke will have to do for today:
A writer dies, but because of the way he lived, he's given the choice of where he wants to go. Saint Peter brings him into a large room with a low ceiling, poorly lit, with no ventilation. The room is filled with men and women chained to desks,

Playing elsewhere
Remember I was working on something different a while back, a mainstream book, set in a fictional small US town?

Well, looks like it's the week for revisions because several publishers have asked for revisions on that book too!
So in the hope to clear my head for THE DATING DILEMMA, I'm tackling this one first. I have to admit, I'm buzzing about this story, super excited by the final tweaks to make this book shine.

Something a little off...
I think I'm getting to the heart of why I've been almost reluctant to start revising THE DATING DILEMMA.
Something is just a little 'off'...
I've written notes, brainstormed solutions, sat down at PC all excited last night to tackle it and...making the one change I thought would solve the problem is going to have a HUGE carry-over and affect everything and not make much sense of anything else.
So I think I have to ponder some more.
I've never had this happen before. I'm usually diving into revision
