More good news for my Tycoon

More good news for my favourite, A TRIP WITH THE TYCOON .

Not only did Romantic Times award it 4 1/2 stars, Romance Reader at Heart awarded it a Top Pick!

Here's what Kay James had to say:

Nicola Marsh has another wonderful escapist adventure in A TRIP WITH THE TYCOON. It reads like a breeze and is the ideal romantic tale for any armchair traveler... While I have never read a book by Nicola Marsh that I didn't enjoy, I have to admit that I enjoyed this one more than the others. Why? Because experienc

August already?

Tell me how we're in AUGUST already?
Seems like I just blinked after Christmas and here we are.

August promises to be an exciting month!

I can't wait for my online read, ONE INDIAN SUMMER, to launch at eharlequin on August 24th. I may not be attending the RWAus conference in Brisbane this year (have had loads of people ask me!) but I'll be online daily, chatting with everyone.

And if you can't wait for the release of A TRIP WITH THE TYCOON and TWO WEEKS IN THE MAGNATE'S BED , both are available rig

Slumber party

Did you ever have slumber parties as a kid?
I loved them!
I had 3 best friends from Prep all the way through to end of high school and in our teens, we stayed over at each other's houses, watched terrible B grade horror movies and scared ourselves silly (tell me why we did this? I hate those movies!), stayed up until all hours giggling and gossiping, and generally had a whoop up time.
On the weekend, I had an unexpected slumber party for the first time in twenty years...and had a ball!Took a sponta

THE WRITE WHISPER: Proposals

In the comments to my last post, Lacey asked a pertinent question: how long are my synopses/proposals?

So to give you an idea how I work, I'm posting the proposal for my recent release, THE BILLIONAIRE'S BABY (Harlequin Romance, May 09.)

HEROINE: Camryn Henderson fled her old life in a small country town to start afresh in Melbourne and is finally living the life she always dreamed of, as a city girl running her own café in Melbourne's hippest new precinct. Thanks to the love of her life desertin

A hero is created

I may have mentioned before how seeing a picture can create a thought/theme/hero/entire story in my head.
I've had this pic of Keanu saved in my hero folder for a very long time, years in fact. His time has come.
He's perfect for my Army hero, Cade Logan, in my next proposed Harlequin Romance, Coming Home.
I wrote the synopsis and sent it off to my editor the other night, awaiting approval.
I'm itching to start writing this one. Much darker than my usual Romances so will be interested to see how it

Meeting the President

I am absolutely tickled by the story of author Geri Krokow meeting President Obama in Moscow and handing him one of her Harlequin books.

Bet you can't guess what the President first said as he looked at the book?

"This looks sexy!"

How cool is that?
He then proceeded to read the back flap, looked at the cover again, then started thumbing through the book.

Read Geri's full post, complete with pics, here .

I love the pic of the President flipping through the book and coming to an 'interesting' excerpt.

Romantic Times double!

I'm stoked! Both my September releases have done well with stellar reviews from Romantic Times .My favourite, A TRIP WITH THE TYCOON, was awarded 4 1/2 stars! Here's what Catherine Witmer had to say: A TRIP WITH THE TYCOON (4.5) by Nicola Marsh: Looking for a fresh start, widowed food critic Tamara Rayne takes the trip to India she'd once planned with her deceased mother. It's supposed to be a solo journey, but restaurateur Ethan Brooks, a friend of Tamara's late husband, decides to go along, al

Hot in Germany

I love discovering foreign translations of my books, especially when they arrive in the mail.

Yesterday, I received copies of my current French release of THE BOSS'S BEDROOM AGENDA, German copies of PURCHASED FOR PLEASURE and German copies of HOT NIGHTS WITH A PLAYBOY.

Set on a Whitsunday island, I thought the cover was perfect!

And I'm featured here . Wish I could read it!

From the mouths of babes

Kidlet and I have had several in-depth conversations lately, about dying and heaven and God.
I try to answer his questions as honestly as I can but he's only 5 and got tears in his eyes when I told him we don't come back from heaven (he thought we did) so chose to change the subject instead.
He's such a thinker, feels things so deeply, I just know I'm going to be faced with some absolute doozy questions the older he gets.

Then this lobs in my inbox.
In a word? Priceless.

It was written by 8-year-ol

All revisioned out

Finished the first pass of revisions on THE DATING DILEMMA yesterday.

Remember I was struggling with these at first?
Weirdly, there wasn't much to actually change. Inserting an inciting incident for Eve and Bryce's behaviour explained everything and there wasn't a lot to tweak in the book itself.

In another odd snippet, another facet of Bryce's motivation revealed itself to me...towards the end! I suddenly thought 'ah! So THAT's why he did that.'

I fear the whole thing is a bit rough still, so pl
