Man of the moment

So you're all aware of my eensy-weensy not-so-secret crush on this man at the moment.

Imagine my surprise when I received an email from a lovely lady this week who runs Gilles Marini's website!

If you haven't checked out his website yet, do yourself a favour.
For the pics alone.
You'll thank me.
And there's a forum too!

Thanks to a fellow fan over at eharlequin, I've also discovered my incessant weeping at his departure from Brothers and Sisters this week was premature.
Apparently he comes back!

A bi...

House of cards

I started revisions on GETTING WILD WITH THE BOSS yesterday.

The way I see it, revisions are like a house of cards.

Change one tiny thing, it can disturb the whole house (and maybe bring it down around your ears!)

I changed one line in the first chapter.
One line isn't much, right?

But it will shape the entire book, change the outcome, intensify the black moment.
How cool is that?

So off I go, gently inserting cards (scenes) here, withdrawing others, hopefully building a much stronger house (book).

I...

Ol' blue eyes is back

Revisions for GETTING WILD WITH THE BOSS landed in my inbox yesterday.

The good news?
The book is revisable.

The bad news?
There's a fair bit to revise!

Considering I had serious doubts about how my hero Rhys was coming across, it isn't too bad. And interestingly, the scene I had the most doubts about (the opening chapter), my editor loved because I pushed the boundaries and didn't do predictable!

So now the challenge is on.
Muddle my way through revisions on pen and paper first, answering question...

Gone too soon

Gasp! Gilles Marini exited 'Brothers and Sisters' Monday night. Viewers all around the world are dabbing damp eyes as we speak... Guess we'll have to make do with pics like this.

After the storm

Still wading through the process of getting stuff fixed.
Glazier came yesterday to fix broken windows.Plumber fixed pipes to stop flooding. The rest will follow...if I can ever get through to the insurance company. I know there are many worse off than us but a 2 hour wait on the phone every time I try to get through? A nearby car dealership had 20 million dollars worth of damage, while others have no roof over their heads. So I'll suck it up, keep ringing and wait for the rest to get fixed.Kidl...

Storm chaser

I swear I'm not a storm chaser. Honest!

But those storms sure are chasing me!

After the lightning dramas last year (and months of insurance hassles!) another massive storm hit us on Saturday afternoon.
Hail the size of tennis balls!

I took this pic about half an hour after the storm, when melting had occurred.
Yep, the hail WAS really that big!

We had broken windows, tiles, pipes, shattered solar heating and hubby's car looks like someone's taken a hammer to it all over.

Never a dull moment!

The harshest critic

I read each and every one of my books when they appear in print form.
I read them as an unbiased reader picking up the book for the first time.
Though is that entirely true?

Can an author totally separate from the work they've created?

Yesterday, I read OVERTIME IN THE BOSS'S BED. And I loved it! Really, truly loved how the characters in my mind came alive on the page.

(Josh Brolin was great inspiration for powerful, commanding Callum Cartwright. And the best bit? I got another glimpse of Rhy...

A happy award

Thanks to the lovely Kerrin for awarding my blog the Happy Cupcake Award as a blog that makes her happy.

Apparently, I have to list 10 things that make me happy so here goes:

1. My kids.
They bring joy to my life daily. Incredible, gorgeous, affectionate...I could go on forever.

2. My hubby.
He makes me laugh like no one else.

3. Writing.
Can't imagine my life without it. Took me a while to get here but now not a day goes past I'm not thinking or writing about my characters.

4. Reading.
My lov...

Staying focussed

A few girls were chatting about Gilles Marini on Twitter last night (yes, I instigated it and proud of the fact!)

Really makes my fingers itch to write my French book...instead, I have 7 weeks to deadline for next Harlequin Romance, 'Coming Home' which I started last year but put on hold to write the Rom Com when requested.

So I guess I should be re-reading what I've written and jumping back into that story rather than dreaming of Paris...bad Gilles! Too much of a distraction!

The postman knocks twice

I was out Monday when the delivery service came knocking, so came home to a note saying I'd missed them.

I know the service means US copies of my books so was annoyed. I still love grabbing the box off the delivery guy, rushing inside and ripping it open to cradle my latest book in my hands. The excitement never dulls!

Yesterday, I wasn't taking any chances. I signed the note and left it for them so when I got home...yay! Author copies of this book.Rather timely, as I'm going to re-read and...
