Manic Monday Updates: Giveaways and upcoming releases
Hello and Happy Monday! Yes, I’m a little too perky for a Monday, but I have the day off so I’m allowed. Tomorrow, on the other hand will be my Monday because I go back to work after having four days off.
I doing this mid-month (well almost end of month) update to share this week’s giveaways and book news.
Book News
Death’s Storm is currently going through round two of edits, then I it be in the hands of my beta. I think I’m on track with the November 27th release. My fingers are crossed. If not, then it will be the following week, December 4th.
Death’s Storm is the second book in the Divinities series and Khloe’s story. Time wise, it picks up about a month after Forgotten Visions. Khloe meets her match–in every sense of the word–and is thrown onto a path no one seen coming. Although, you could read DS as a stand alone, I recommend reading FV first because the back-story starts in FV and continues throughout the series.
Winter Eve is the first in my new shifter series. Yes, I have leopards and wolves! So there will be plenty of alpha males and strong females. Oh and the two Packs live together in one small mountain town, Ashwood Falls.
Winter Eve is a 13K novella that opens the shifter world and introduces some of the residents of Ashwood Falls. WE is in the hands of my editor right now going through round one of edits. Its release date is December 18, 2012.
I am so thrilled, and very nervous, about have two back-to-back releases coming. I hope everyone will fall in love with the characters as I did.
Giveaways:
Today is the last day to enter the Alpha Male Blog Hop giveaways.
I’m giving away an eCopy of Forgotten Visions at two different blogs. So that is TWO changes to win a copy! So hop over to Sizzling Hot Book Reviews and Julie’s Book Review to enter.
Have a wonderful Monday!

Interview with Marion Croslydon, author of Oxford Whisper
Hello! I have another wonderful interview for you today, I’m excited to have Marion Croslydon with me today talking about her release, Oxford Whisper.
Hi, Marion! It is great to have you here.
Hello Lia, Thanks for having me on your blog.
Tell us about your book/series and how did the idea come to you?
Oxford Whispers is the first installment in the Oxford trilogy. It’s a New Adult Paranormal Romance (Upper-Young-Adult / Mature YA / College-Lit). It tells the story of Madison LeBon, an American student at Oxford University, with psychic powers she prefers to ignore. But when the tragic lovers in a painting begin to haunt her, she must learn to accept her gift. Otherwise, life will imitate art and Madison’s own first love will be doomed.
The story came to me when I studied in Oxford. I was in my early twenties and fell totally in love with the place. I thought it was one of the most romantic settings possible for a book and I started having these ideas for scenes while I walked or cycled through the city.
When did the writing bug first bite?
It’s not going to sound very original but I’ve wanted to write my whole life. I was an only child, so quite solitary. I used to make up stories in my head. When I turned 13, I realized I could make these romantic stories come true… by writing them. So that’s how it all started.
Who are you favorite authors, book/series?
When I grew up, I was a big fan of John Jakes (the North and South trilogy), K E Woodiwiss and Margaret Mitchell. Now I’ve come to love more intimate and angsty stories. My favorite writers at the moment are Tammara Webber, Abbi Glines, Jamie McGuire and Sc Stephens.
In the paranormal genre, the LUX trilogy by Jennifer Armentrout is awesome.
What is your most favorite childhood memory?
I was born and spent the first years of my life in West Africa. My nanny used to carry me on her back in the traditional African way. My first memories (albeit quite blurred) were those moments.
Do you have any hobbies or special things you like to do in your spare time?
Like for most women, time is a challenge. Between work, family, house problems, there aren’t many moments to relax. I try and exercise as much as possible. But I’d say my dream time would be drinking a glass of wine while watching my favorite TV series: True Blood and Castle are my little darlings at the moment.
Any advice for new writers just starting out?
Phew, I’m not sure I’m in a position to give any advice. I’d say one thing though. If you want to make writing your job, then treat it like a business. It doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy what you’re doing and it has to become meaningless, but respect your reader by giving them the best you can deliver.
Boxers, brief or commando?
Boxers!
Favorite eye color?
My husband has the most amazing green eyes.
What’s the strangest thing you’ve heard or seen?
When I was seven years old, I saw Santa on Christmas Eve. I spied on him all night long with my cousin and we saw him. I swear!

Two star-crossed lovers in the English Civil War
A painting with haunting powers
A murderous ghost back for revenge
Madison LeBon is dead set against the dead. She has vowed to ignore her Voodoo-stamped heritage and the psychic gift passed down through her Louisiana family. The world of the living is where she wants to belong.
But her resolution shatters when the ill-fated lovers in a painting—the subject of her first history class at Oxford—begin to haunt her. The lovers warn her against their own nemesis, a Puritan from the English Civil War.
In misty present-day Oxford, Madison embarks on a quest to unravel the secrets of the past and understand her personal bond with the painting. To protect herself, she must learn to accept her gift before life imitates art, in all its tragedy.
College becomes more complicated when she falls hard for Rupert Vance, a troubled aristocrat and descendant of one of the characters in the painting.
With the spirit of a murderer in hot pursuit, Madison comes to realize that her own first love may be doomed…
Based on a real Pre-Raphaelite painting, Oxford Whispers is full of romance, drama and suspense.
Fall in love for the first time… Again
~~About the Author~~
I am a true citizen of the world. I was born in West Africa, grew up in the South of France, and studied in Vienna, Paris, Berlin, Cape Town, and Oxford before finally settling down in London. This wide variety of cities has provided lots of inspiration for my writing. Talk about culture exposure!
In addition to being an author, I work as an entrepreneur, wife and mother-of-one but spend a good deal of time with books, DVDs and listening to my mp3 player; all for the sake of inspiration, of course. My debut series, The Oxford Trilogy, has been a blast to write because I can indulge in my favorite types of music: Country and English rock.
My main goal as a writer is to make readers dream bigger and cause their hearts to beat a little faster. Since my writing is all about sharing dreams and stories, I love connecting with fellow readers and authors.

Interview and Giveaway with Shiela Stewart
Welcome Shiela Stewart! Please start off by telling us a little about yourself.
I’ve been married for 27 years to a wonderfully supportive man who has stuck with me through the good and the bad. We have three grown children, 17, 20 and 24 who always keep me on my toes. I love to write, which is obvious, but aside from that I love to create in other forms such as drawing, painting and knitting. I have a wicked sense of humor and love to scare people. My children are never safe. I’m not sure if I should be proud or annoyed that they inherited my sense of humor. LOL
I’m a huge animal lover. I have six cats and one black lab dog. I also have three turtles.
Is The Naughty Angel a single title, or part of a series?
It’s a single title for me, but a part of Decadent Publishing 1 Night Stand series. They all focus on one thing. Being set up on a one night stand which is part of Madame Eve’s dating service.
What were your inspirations for the story?
I love the TV series, Supernatural. In one episode there is an angel who surprisingly kisses a demon. I thought how perfect it was and what opposites they are. As I was cleaning my house one day, the idea popped into my head to create The Naughty Angel.
Please share your setting for The Naughty Angel. Have you ever lived or visited there? If so, what did you like most?
The Naughty Angel takes place at the Castillo Springs Resort in the midst of a winter blizzard. It’s based on a combination of several places really. I’ve always loved the mountains. I’ve been to the stunning mountains in British Columbia, Canada and mirrored the scenery after that. Why a snowstorm you may ask? What better weather to have when bringing together a demon and an angel. Beautiful white fluffy snow whipped up by a fierce wind.
When did the writing bug first bite?
I started writing when I was fourteen. Love poems and songs. But I’ve always been a story teller. I was eight years old when I regaled my cousins with stories of farm animals playing in the fields. The first real story I wrote was when I was fifteen. It was a story about a young girl who delves into black magic with dire consequences.
Who are you favorite authors, book/series?
Nora Roberts/J.D. Robb and J.R. Ward. I never miss a book in JD Robb’s In Death Series. I’m slowly catching up on JR Wards Blackdagger Brotherhood series.
What is your most favorite childhood memory?
I loved on a farm until I was eight years old. My most favorite memory would be playing dress-up with the baby pigs with my baby sister.
Do you have any hobbies or special things you like to do in your spear time?
I love to create in several forms other than writing. My favorite would be drawing. I love to sketch faces. I also love drawing murals. I also love knitting and crocheting.
Boxers, brief or commando?
I love a man in boxers, especially silk ones.
Favorite eye color?
Blue
What’s the strangest thing you’ve heard or seen?
Oh wow, there are so many.
A frozen goat. No, not ice frozen but rather frozen to the spot. A few years back I saw a clip on TV about a disorder that was just discovered in certain types of goats. When scared they would freeze up, not move and fall over. It’s both hilarious and strange at the same time.

Even the good turn bad sometimes.
A life of servitude to God has left Ariel Raine feeling worn out. Being an Angel isn’t always what it’s cracked up to be. Day in and day out of the same routine tends to get tedious. Wanting some spice in her life, she sets her mind on discovering the allure of a sexual encounter. With the help of Madam Eve and her 1 Night Stand dating services, Ariel is about to have her world rocked.
Only problem is…her match is a demon.
Edison Grey has relied on dating services to claim minions for not only him, but for his master Satan as well. 1 Night Stand just happens to be this week’s preference. No use wasting a good service, Edison decides to have a little fun while he’s at it.
Stripping an angel of her purity is an added bonus.
What happens between Ariel and Edison is a surprise to both. Even with the threat of punishment looming over top of them.
~~Excerpt~~
“You’re a demon!”
“And you are an angel.”
“There’s no need to say it with such disdain.”
He leaned one arm on the door, resting his body against it and lifted one eyebrow as he responded. “It’s fitting for how I feel for your kind.”
“My kind? You are the scourge of the earth.”
“Right. And your kind is perfect. I think not.”
“We do not claim what is not ours to take.”
“No, you just possess the bodies of innocent souls to do your bidding.”
“They offer their service to the Lord.”
“Yes, ‘offer’.” He made quotations with his index fingers. “I think we should discuss this in privacy.” He motioned to the couple standing by the door across the hall.
Reluctantly, she stepped inside and he closed the door behind her. “This is a mistake. Surely the woman in charge, this Madame Evangeline, has made a mistake. I couldn’t possibly be fitted with such a detestable creature.”
“Pot calling the kettle black there, sweet cheeks.” She touched her face, confused. “Not those ones.” He motioned to her backside and instantly her face flush with warmth.
“How dare you!”
“What? You came here for sex, right?”
She was aghast at his candor. “Must you be so vulgar?”
“It’s how I roll, sugar. Did you expect your date not to admire your body?”
“I did…well, I assumed he would. That’s not the point.” She stiffened her shoulders. “Keep your eyes to yourself.”
“Happy to.” He let out a long breath. “So…now what?”
“I leave.”
“Good luck with that. Storms brewing and they’ve shut the roads down until it clears. I hear it could be several days.”
“I have other ways of leaving.” All she had to do was wish herself elsewhere. No storm could prevent her from returning to heaven.
“Huh, that’s a new one. A cowardly angel.”
She stiffened in response. “I am not a coward!”
Review:
The Naughty Angel is the story of two mismatched people who are put together by Madame Eve for one night of passion. Ariel is an angel who wants to feel the desire she sees when she watches the humans together. Edison is a demon who wants to possess his date. But what they find is a very steamy night of sex and possibly a commitment. The Naughty Angel is an interesting story with a unique twist. Shiela Stewart brings together two people who are opposites in every way but are perfect for each other. While it seems that Madame Eve has made a mistake matching an angel and a demon, it turns out again to be a perfect match. I really enjoyed the match up of an angel and demon, showing that they have more in common than anyone would think. The sex in The Naughty Angel is romantic and steamy without being smutty. It is nice to see that love might just be able to conqure hate. The ending leaves you wanting to know more and certainly The Naughty Angel is a perfect story for a series. I would love to read more about Ariel, Edison and the other characters who show up!

Die Run Hide by PM Kavanaugh
DIE RUN HIDE
By PM Kavanaugh
Follow orders or die. Anika Washington knows the rules laid down by the counterterrorist agency that owns her. When she aborts a mission in order to spare a young girl, she’s given an ultimatum: take on a new mission that requires betraying her fellow operative, and lover, or forfeit her own life.
After discovering that her lover, Gianni, has chosen another, Anika accepts the mission. In the aftermath, she learns that Gianni was faithful to her and she’d been tricked into thinking otherwise. The knowledge comes too late and she’s almost killed in an agency double-cross.
Now she must run—battling time, former enemies and the agency itself to stay alive and save the man she loves.
“Why?”
The single word jabbed Anika like a fist when she stepped inside her loft. She didn’t know Gianni had returned. It had been five miserable weeks since he had left for what she thought was the honeymoon mission with Jewel. The one she now knew had been cancelled.
“How long have you been back?” She dropped her gear on the low table in the middle of her living room.
“Long enough to learn you missed the target. What happened?” The vein in Gianni’s lower jaw pulsed an angry beat.
What she had to tell him wouldn’t improve his mood. As her vision adjusted to the indoor light, she noted fatigue lines around his mouth and a hollowing underneath his eyes.
“I’ve already explained what happened to the debriefing team. It’s all on disc.” She walked into the kitchen where she grabbed a tube of herb water out of the cold cell and took several swallows.
Stop stalling and tell him.
He Gianni loomed in the doorway. “What about your promise? The one about you lying low?”
“I thought I had the target.” She finished off the tube and tossed it into the recycler. “I missed. That’s all.”
“You don’t miss.” His words lashed across the room.
“The P-16 isn’t as precise as laser.” Do it now. Before you lose your nerve.
A writer of thrillers spiked with romance, PM Kavanaugh has always loved intrigue, danger and adventure, especially when observed at a safe distance from her own life. She shares her home, dreams and some of her plotting dilemmas with her clever-enough-to-be-a-spy husband and her talkative office cat, Max.
Giveaway!
PM Kavanaugh will be awarding a 1st prize of a $20 Amazon GC and a 2nd prize of a $15 Amazon GC to randomly drawn commenters during the tour.

The Magic of Matchmaking by Louisa Bacio
Thank you very much for hosting me today! I’ll be giving away an electronic .pdf copy of my 1Night Stand A Date with Death to one person who leaves a comment and a valid email address. Giveaway will be drawn randomly on Oct. 15.
Have you ever paired up a couple? The art of bringing two people together can be quite the gift. It’s more than thinking, “Hey, they’re single, why don’t we throw them into the same room and see if they stick.” You gotta look at those likes and dislikes, and know deep down if they’re looking for the same level of commitment.
At one point, I actively set up one of my best friends with a guy I worked with. First impressions, he was outright handsome, funny, endearing, smart and best yet – he’d just moved from out of state and didn’t know anybody. I specifically remember thinking, “He’s a good catch.” Why didn’t I grab him for myself? Well, I was already taken at the time, so why not hook up a single pal. Fortunately, it worked out. They got married.
About the same time, I went on a business trip and met another co-worker at our headquarters for the first time. He fit all the same categories, and when another friend later returned from a trip, and said, “You wouldn’t believe who I hooked up with.” I easily guessed. They simply matched. (And later got married.)
Unfortunately, that was the end of my matchmaking skills. Over the years, there have been a few people that I’ve thought: Could be good together. But, for one reason or another – usually conflicting schedules – they don’t hook up.
The 1Night Stand series at Decadent Publishing all feature some of the same key components, including an exclusive dating service run by Madame Evangeline. We don’t know a whole lot about Madame Eve. She possesses more than a bit of magic when it comes to bringing a couple together for a night of stimulating interaction. And in the best stories – in my opinion – there’s that ah-ha twist that makes the connection count.
My new paranormal erotic novella A Date with Death features a match-up made in heaven. Well, not literally, but the story starts in the antechambers of the great beyond. Here’s a looksee:
Death sucks. It’s boring, and there’s no chance of getting laid. Stuck in the waiting room of Heaven, Maise fantasizes about all the pleasures of the flesh she didn’t get to experience. When Maise discovers a business card for the dating service, 1Night Stand, she wonders if there’s still a chance.
Reece normally wouldn’t consider being set up, but after his brother buys him a certificate, he feels obligated. A romantic night on the Southern California coast, with the full-of-life Maise leaves him wanting more.
Will a 1Night Stand be enough to overcome death?
Buy Links: Decadent Publishing / Amazon / Nook
What do you say: Have a knack for setting people up? Ever helped a person find love? What are some key elements to look out for?
Thank you for having me!
He reached under the table, resting his hand on her thigh. “Want more?”
A zing of desire traveled through her body. “Not food.”
Maise worried her bottom lip between her teeth, thinking about the perfection of kissing him. Perhaps there was something to this dating service.
He slipped his hand into hers and led her back inside. With his thumb, he caressed the C-shape between her index finger and her thumb, sending a current of sensations fluttering through her system.
“I might be able think of one or two things to entertain you. First, will you dance with me?”
He stopped to turn on the stereo, and a slow Latin jazz began. Warm guitars built a rhythm that matched the beat of Maise’s heart. Reece held his hand out in offering, and the look of hopefulness on his face touched her. A man who’d suffered more than one loss in his recent past, he’d come for this date to get away and maybe find a glimmer of hope for the future.
She couldn’t be the one to turn him down. She stepped within the comfort of his embrace. In his arms, it was as if her other problems didn’t exist. The tightness in her chest began to unwind. If only they could stay here, in this resort, forever.
Louisa Bacio is the author of five erotic novels, including the paranormal series The Vampire, The Witch & The Werewolf, and numerous steamy short stories.
Bacio enjoys soaking up the sun in Southern California, and spending time with her family. In addition to writing and editing, Bacio teaches college courses in English, journalism, film studies and popular culture.

Not too bad for a Monday
Good morning. After a weekend of headaches I’m ready to face the work week, I think. I’m never really ready, but I try to stay positive. Despite my groaning I do actually like my day job. No, really. I do.
But my dream is to work for myself. Like be a self-employed writer!
That would be awesome. It’s also a great goal to work toward. But I’m playing it by ear right now and haven’t set a hard date on when I want to accomplish this goal. We’ll see where I’m at by the end of 2013.
Speaking of goals, I will be reaching my 2012 New Years goal of publishing 4 books this year with the releases of Death’s Storm and Winter Eve. Whoot! I’m so proud. LOL.
So, have you reached some or all your goals for the year? Did you make any?

Six Sentence Sunday: Death’s Storm 10/07
Hi! *waves* Welcome to six sentence Sunday! Today I bring you an unedited tease from Death’s Storm, The Divinities, book 2. The target release date is late November/early December! Enjoy!
Stepping off the curb to head to the car, she stilled and let the warm air caress her skin. An electrical charge that only the select few magickin could detect, like her and the other Divinities, hung thick in the humid, summer air.
Her spine tingled as the supernatural energy drifted on the wind, putting her on full alert. Reaching out with her senses, she relaxed. A little. The energy was familiar in an odd kind of way.
Thanks for stopping by. For more awesome sixes go to http://sixsunday.com/.

Just a Friday ramble
Some people look toward the weekend because they have special plans or going on a trip. Me? I look forward to WRITING! LOL. After the family and household stuff are taking care of, I plug in and write. Or at least try sometimes.
So what special plans do I have this weekend? I’m going to work on finishing the first draft of Winter Eve! That is exciting to me. LOL. It means I can start on the Ashwood Falls book 2, A Tiger’s Claim, and plot book 3. YAY!
Oh! I finished The Dark Divine’s plot points last night. Whoot! That’s book 3 of the Divinities series and Zach and Lydia’s story. So much to do with so little time.
But I’m getting there and things are pretty calm at the moment.
So what are your plans for the weekend? Going somewhere? staying at home and relaxing with family?
