Interview with Nana Malone, author of Sexy in Stilettos
Welcome back! I have Nana Malone with me today and she’s brought her hero Alec.
Thank you both for coming by today. Tell us about your book/series and how did the idea come to you?
The series starts with Jaya in Sexy in Stilettos. Jaya in essence is your hyper-planning, never filed hard, over-achiever type. Until her evil ex gets her fired from the family business. Suddenly, she’s a planner without a plan and she has to figure out how to cope and survive. Her hero, Alec, is beyond the opposite. He’s the freewheeling, no responsibilities, never met a commitment he wasn’t phobic of kind of guy. Plans give him the scratch. When I look at my husband we’re opposite in a lot of ways and I started to wonder about true polar opposites and how in the world they could get together and make it work.
The In Stilettos Series is about friendship, laughter and the shoes that keep them fabulous. These three women have been unlucky in love for the reasons that all of us have been at some point in our lives. And their friendship is what pulls them through. And what sends them on some pretty wild adventures.
When did the writing bug first bite?
It all started with Bridget Jones. I’d always been an avid reader, but I thought writers were these Titans that were born not made. But after reading that book, I wondered if I could make people laugh or cry or both at the same time. At the time the only part of my PR job I actually liked was the writing. But being from a strict Ghanaian family, writer sounded nothing like doctor or lawyer, or engineer. Nevertheless, I decided to give it a go. I had so much to learn, and I’m still learning every day, but so happy I jumped onto this train.
Who are you favorite authors, book/series?
Obviously, I love the queen of romance herself, Nora. But also less conventional authors, Misty Evans, Eve Vaughn, DD Scott. Helen Fielding. But I also kick it way old school and revisit Jane Austen from time to time.
What is your most favorite childhood memory?
My younger brother is autistic. Growing up, we were always working with him on his communication and trying to get him to speak or sign what he wanted or needed. Every Christmas and Birthday, I only ever made one wish, that Nortey would talk. The Christmas I was ten, I ran down the stairs for breakfast and asked him what he wanted for breakfast. He said “Cheerios.”
Do you have any hobbies or special things you like to do in your spear time?
Ha! You said spare time. Photography was a love of mine before writing became such an obsession. And now that I have my daughter, I’m constantly chasing after her with a camera.
Any advice for new writers just starting out?
Write. Take some classes. Write some more. Polish till you bleed and find someone brutally honest to give you feedback. And no your mom doesn’t count. Pick someone who actually reads what you’re writing about. But make sure they will be honest with you. Write some more, polish some more. And listen to your heart.
Boxers, brief or commando?
Commando of course. Who wants to wrestle with boxers in the middle of the night?
Favorite eye color?
Green. True jade green. I find it really unusual.
What’s the strangest thing you’ve heard or seen?
Our daughter insists on riding the dog like a pony, A) the dog is a Scottish Terrier, B) She insists on riding side saddle.
Interview with Alec
Tell us about the first time you saw Jaya.
She was crying. The elevator door opened and in walked this beautiful cocoa skinned woman with tears streaming down her face.
What drew you to her?
The way she held onto those tears and didn’t let a single sound escape. She was so exposed and raw, but so strong.
What is your favorite part of her?
*Grinning* Her endless list making. She even made me a checklist for getting ready in the morning. This way I won’t ever be late for work…again. Though, I think I misplaced the thing.
Care to share future plans?
Immediate plans, I plan on keeping her in bed until she gets tired of me. Then I’ll let her draw up a list for all our future plans.
Sexy in Stilettos

Nana Malone
What’s worse than having to watch your sister marry your ex fiancé? How about when that fiancé fires you from the family business?
Hyper-organized, event planner Jaya Trudeaux is used to doing things by the book and never making waves. It’s a strategy that’s served her well until she finds herself in failure alley with no fiancé, no job and her thirtieth birthday looming. Maybe it’s time to change her methods. Starting with an unlikely date to the wedding from hell.
The only thing that can tie carefree playboy, Alec Danthers down is his formidable step mother. When she calls him home to help find his wayward brother, he never imagines an uptight, list making, sass- talking woman would make him think about putting down roots.
Can Jaya put the lists down long enough to enjoy the ride that is Alec? Will Alec stop running long enough to recognize true love?
Warning: Sexy, sass talking women will make you laugh, cry and want a pair of killer footwear.
About Nana
Nana’s love of all things romance and adventure started with a tattered romantic suspense she borrowed from her cousin on a sultry summer afternoon in Ghana at a precocious thirteen. She’s been in love with kick butt heroines ever since. With her overactive imagination, and channeling her inner Buffy, it was only a matter a time before she started creating her own characters.
Waiting for her chance at a job as a ninja assassin, Nana, meantime works out her drama, passion and sass with fictional characters every bit as sassy and kick butt as she thinks she is. Though, until that ninja job comes through, you’ll find her acting out scenes for hubby and puppy while catching up on her favorite reality television shows in sunny San Diego.

Carrie Ann Ryan’s Top 5 Movie and TV Werewolves
So I love werewolves. I think we know this already LOL. But I’m here today to talk about my favorite TV and Movie werewolves. And OMG. This was so hard because my wolves are NOTHING like these. My wolves are sexy, intelligent, wolves. They aren’t some snarling beast that walks on two legs. They aren’t inbred hillbillies with no manners. But that’s how they are portrayed on TV. How annoying is that?
I realize things are changing in Hollywood as the romance and UF books they’re based upon evolve, but come on already!
I mean the closest thing I could come up with for a consistent, intelligent, hot, human who turns into a wolf, was freaking Jacob from Twilight. O_o Really, Hollywood? TWILIGHT is the best you can come up with where the werewolf isn’t the monster?
Ugh.
I think it’s time for Hollywood to let nice wolves come out and play.
But since I’m here, I’ll still give you my top 5 TV and Movie werewolves. And no, Jacob, is not on it. Sorry, he was like 14 when he was cast. That’s a little too creepy for me. LOL
The Wolfman – Benicio Del Torro
So, I actually enjoyed this movie LOL. I know some didn’t, but I loved the original black and white, and this one was entertaining. Plus, you know, I’ve always had a thing for Mr. Del Torro. But still – the wolf was the monster. Not cool, Hollywood.
Buffy the Vampire Slayer – Oz
I love Seth Green. He was such an off the wall character and fit with Willow so much, it worked. I mean, the time Willow had to shoot him with a dart? Too funny. He wasn’t the sexiest by far, but pretty cool anyway. But still, Hollywood, he was the bad guy when a wolf.
As humans they were hot. But then, they were born into servitude and then the bad guys. Until they weren’t…you see? Still the ones that killed people.
Being Human (UK)– George
I love George. He was so funny and TOTALLY didn’t want to be a wolf. Yet, when he turned, he didn’t know who he was and killed. Yeah, still not good.
Yum. Just yum. He is the closet to a decent wolf in my opinion. But still, the whole wolf population was a bit of a baser instinct mean type of wolf. Still not enough for me.
So you see, I’m slightly picky LOL. But I love werewolves. Even if they’re growly. What about you? What are your favorites?

Book 3.5 in the Redwood Pack Series
Kade Jamenson has been mated to Melanie for almost two years. They’ve been through mating circles, battles, loss, misunderstandings, and finally, the birth of their son, Finn. The world is in turmoil around them as the Redwoods engage in war with the Centrals. But for Kade and Melanie, the turmoil is also happening at home. The responsibility of a restless baby and their Pack has taken a toll and they need a break.
Not from each other. But from their Pack. Just for a night.
Kade takes Mel away for a romantic getaway and leaves Uncle Maddox alone with baby Finn. The Omega of the Redwood Pack may be adept at emotions but the idea of a baby may be beyond his immense capabilities.
Author’s Note: This is a novella set between books 3 and 4 to give you a taste of Mel and Kade. It is best that you have already immersed yourselves in the Redwood Pack world, however even new readers will enjoy a glimpse of one of the Redwood’s favorite couples.
A Night Away Excerpt
Kade Jamenson closed his eyes and prayed for resolution. A piercing shriek startled him, making him jump to his feet.
Finn.
Finn. His eleven-month-old son, who wouldn’t stop screaming, no matter what they did. The kid always needed something, either to be fed, changed, held, burped, played with, or just stared at. It seemed never ending. Even now that he was older, he still screamed or babbled constantly.
Dear God. How the hell did humans do this? Kade had more endurance than any human, witch, and most werewolves out there. Yet a tiny fifteen-pound baby with big blue eyes took every ounce of strength he possessed. Not to mention sleep time.
Kade groaned and rolled his neck before he walked into his son’s room. He and Melanie had painted the room in a soft green to match the Jameson eyes and added cream borders to break it up. Dark wood furniture filled the room along with cream linens covered with frog princes and bumblebees. Stuffed animals of every sort covered the tops of most pieces of furniture, gifts from his Pack and family, who cherished Finn like their own son. He took another step in and realized he hadn’t been the first one to answer his son’s call.

Six Sentence Sunday: Ravished Before Sunrise – 5/06
Hi! Welcome back to Six Sentence Sunday.
I quick reminder of where I left off last week. Darian received an email from Madame Eve at 1NS and he’s confronting his daughter about it. Enjoy!
“You know anything about why I would receive a message from 1Night Stand?” He tried to stay calm and not overreact. The email could be a mistake. Maybe Kat had nothing to do with it.
“Oh! She found a match so soon?
Thanks for stopping by!

For the love of writing
Happy Friday!
Welcome to day 5 of my blog tour. I’m having fun visiting everyone and reading comments. Thanks for following and showing you support.
I know I’ve said this before and every author agree…I LOVE writing! LOL Don’t get me wrong, it’s a lot work. You have to come up with an idea — or in my case focus on only one of many my muse feeds me –, turn that idea into a story, FINISH the story, and then it’s revise, edit, revise, polish, revise, polish and submit.
Once you get a contract you have go through multiple rounds of edits. And finally release day! But your work isn’t done. You now enter the wold of marketing.
From blog tours to promo items (swag packs), Twittering, Facebooking and all the other social medias.
Sounds like a lot of work, doesn’t it? Well it is, but it’s also rewarding. As I read over Ravished Before Sunrise’s galley (the last chance to catch typos) I thought, “wow. I wrote this. And I’m about to be a published author!” it truly is an awesome feeling. Then I saw it on ebook shelves….
Another great perk about writing — besides meeting other great and supportive authors — is meeting my characters. They really drive the story for me.
I hope everyone loves Emalee and Darian as much as I do.
Don’t forget the daily giveaway of a signed swag pack. Also every comment will be put into the grand drawing for a $25 Amazon GC and sign swag! Leave your email address in you comment to enter.
Thanks for your wonderful support and comments.

Excerpt:
Emalee’s pulse raced as she drummed her fingers on her desk and searched the website. A giddiness she hadn’t known since senior prom ran through her. The site claimed unlimited possibilities, a chance for adventure. Could they mean it? Because she’d already seen things beyond what humans deemed possible. Hell, her whole existence was unimaginable.
Her life had taken a lonesome turn when a friend she hadn’t seen since high school noted how much younger than the rest of her classmates she looked. Her long-lasting youth had become a liability. Drawing too much attention to her unusual gift wouldn’t prove wise. In some cases, it could get her killed. With no alternative, she’d closed the door on her life among humans and moved into the local witch coven, where everyone was different.
“What will you do?” Her best friend since preschool, a coven member in good standing, sat next to her for moral support and encouragement. Ema didn’t need much encouragement. The second Beth had mentioned a one-night stand, she’d been hooked. And Madame Eve’s dating service would save her from dying of boredom, at least for one night.
But could she go through with it? A wicked smile tugged at her lips and her inner voice said, “Hell, yeah.” Human strangers gave her a sense of safety. They knew nothing about her past or her unusual abilities.
“Just one night?” Ema nibbled on her bottom lip and bounced her legs under the desk.
“Yes. You never have to see him again, unless you want to.” Beth waggled her eyebrows.
Ema laughed and waved her friend away. “Maybe, but I won’t hold my breath.” Especially after her date found out about her weirdness.
“I’ve heard Madame Eve has a pretty good track record.”
Beth shifted closer to view the monitor. She smelled of rosemary and sage from her monthly cleansing ritual. Ema breathed in the scent of home and family and wiped her clammy palms on her jeans. What would she request?
Looking around her office for inspiration, her gaze stopped at the floor to ceiling bookshelf and she knew. Acting out a fantasy from one of her beloved paranormal romance novels would help her break from her everyday life. Oh, yes.
She would dress in leather and become a huntress of the night. The idea of stalking a vampire, catching him, and having her wicked way with him added to her anticipation. And the possibility of her vamp capturing and ravishing her woke a desire she’d thought had packed up and left. A hard body pressed against her, skin on skin, rendering her incapable of gaining control…. She suppressed a shiver and laughed.
“I know that look.” Beth nudged her with an elbow. “Are you going vamp hunting?”
Ema nodded. The agency wouldn’t set her up with a real vampire, so there would be no danger. He would be another role player, but she’d have fun anyway.
“You can make special requests. Be as descriptive as you like. Nothing’s 100 percent, but it doesn’t hurt to ask.” Her BFF turned cheerleader clapped her hands, making Ema jump at the unexpected sound.
She giggled. Seriously? The naughtiness of the situation stirred up butterflies in her stomach.
Images of her fantasy date formed in her mind. Dark hair, blue eyes, a perfect, seductive smile. Oh, and he had to be tall, over six feet, and have a body made for a night of pleasure.
“Okay, I’m doing it.” Her fingers flew over the keys as she filled out the online form and questionnaire. “I deserve a one-night stand.”

May is for Moms by W Lynn Chantale
A while back my youngest talked me into watching a movie with him. I know what types of movies he’s into and as this is the kid who’ll watch episodes of Doctor Who, Criminal Minds, Murder She Wrote and Knight Rider with me without complaining I thought I’d return the favor. His choice, Mars Needs Moms.
Some of you may have seen this and already know I’m being set up. My middle child tried to warn me away, but as since the little guy asked, I had to follow through. It’s a CGI movie/cartoon which to my eyes looks real but isn’t. The story opens up classic mother child scene. She’s fussing at him to pick up his stuff and something or other happens and she has to play the bad guy. He gets upset and tells her he hates her. My heart stuttered at that point and the scene ends with Mom hurt.
The next morning Mom is gone. She’s been kidnapped by the Martians who need Moms. That’s where I’m going to stop because you’ve got to watch this movie with your kid, grandkid, niece or nephew. And I’ll give you a warning my son didn’t give me. You’re gonna need a tissue. Yeah I hate crying at movies and had to pinch the kid once or twice for not warning me, but I wouldn’t change spending that time with him for anything.
Some of my other favorite Mom movies, in no particular order are
The Divine Secrets of the Ya-Ya Sisterhood
Steel Magnolias
Stepmom
Mommie Deaerst
Freaky Friday
So what are some of your favorite Mom movies? Leave a comment for a chance to win a copy of Decadent Seconds.
Until next time, Indulge Your Inner Romantic

That is if he wants a second chance at family.
Excerpt
Drunken laughter floated just above the thrumming bass line of Lenny Kravitz’s Are You Gonna Go My Way, competing with the steady buzz of conversation. Soft pastel strobe lights flickered through the muted illumination. Darlene Williams, or “Darling” as she was known to friends and associates, surveyed the banquet hall full of guests.
She heaved a sigh as she glimpsed a swirl of ivory on the dance floor. For one wistful moment, where fairytales glowed bright and rosy, she imagined her own wedding. Her fairytale didn’t have a happy ending. She sighed again. Or a beginning.
A familiar face bobbed in the crowd, and her breath hitched. Twice he tried to take her picture, and she was determined he wouldn’t succeed. His gaze found hers, and her heartbeat matched the pounding bass line. He turned away, and she focused on a set of broad, muscular shoulders. She could spend hours smoothing her hands over his brawn. When he found her again, the corners of his mouth creased, and a familiar tingle crackled through her veins.
Just once she’d like to not react when she saw him. Despite the warmth knocking at the wall of her heart, Darling followed his movements to a group of similarly clad women. When they clustered around him, he raised his Nikon to his rugged face.
She loved his face, all angles and planes, and all that sharpness melted away when he smiled. Sadness and longing wiggled through a crack in her wall and squeezed her heart. They weren’t meant to be. Still she stared after him, envying the way he leaned close to one woman and lowered his camera. He gave a nod before moving away. When he passed beneath a wall sconce, the warm glow gave his smooth brown skin the fine sheen of melted chocolate. He should’ve been out of place in his black polo shirt and khaki slacks as he moved among the tuxedoes and long dresses, but his sexy smirk and camera made things easy.
The discordant clash of a body colliding with cymbals and snare drum drew Darling’s attention toward the dais next to the dance floor. A glassy-eyed young man in a tux tried to untangle his limbs from the instrument without spilling his drink. Succeeding, he then lurched onto the crowded dance floor and crashed into a couple of dancers. She shook her head when he sprawled on the floor, still trying to drink from the glass in his hand.
Not her problem. Darling regarded the decimated buffet, the food reduced to crumbs and half-dried globs of gravy—this was her problem. Swiping sweat from her forehead with the back of her hand, she lifted her gaze again, this time scanning the room for the tall, sexy photographer. He was now taking pictures of the drunk on the floor. Good, she didn’t want to run into him or his camera again. Turning, she hefted the silver chafer by the handles and placed it on the rolling cart behind her.
She reached for the next chafer, moving the serving spoon aside when strong hands seized her shoulders. The spoon slipped from her grasp, splattering white sauce on her black slacks, before settling on the floor. A sensuous chuckle tickled her ear, sending warmth scurrying through her veins, and puckering her nipples. Yanking free, she spun around to glare into dark chocolate eyes. She shoved the owner of those eyes and straightened her clothes. He laughed softly, his gaze drifting leisurely over her white chef’s coat and work pants.
Darryl Manning, the sexy photographer, grabbed her hand and gently tapped the thick bandage wrapped around her index finger. “What did you do to your finger?” She tugged her hand from his grasp, wincing when she smacked the digit on the chafer. “I cut it.” She bent to retrieve the spoon from the floor, straightened, and placed the utensil in a gray plastic tub.
Darling wiped her hands on a towel. Darryl folded well-toned arms across his broad chest, the black knit shirt he wore strained to accommodate the expansion of muscle. She stifled a groan and the urge to run her fingers along the bulging biceps and perfect pecs. Why did her body pick today to rebel? “I don’t have time for this now,” she snapped, “What do you have time for?” His rich baritone conjured nights of hot, steamy sex and decadent morning afters. He lifted his camera, with a sexy smirk. “Maybe a photo or two?”
She resisted the seductive note in his voice and placed her hand on the lens. “I’m working.”
“And I’m not, just finished.” He stepped closer, the heat of his body instantly warming hers. Darling tilted her head back to maintain eye contact.
She studied his face, waiting for the familiar ache and longing to subside. It didn’t. Being this close to him, surrounded by his scent, a little soap and a whole lot of male, made her yearn to be in his arms, to feel his full lips against hers. What was she doing? She couldn’t think about him, about them. She moved away. Not today.
Darling turned as the click-click-click of his camera captured her. Huffing, she stalked toward the kitchen. She caught the attention of Pete, one of her chefs for the evening. “Could you finish breaking down the buffet table while I take care of this?” She jerked a thumb to the hunk at her heels. Light flashed in her face, momentarily blinding her, and she held a hand to her eyes, blinking to clear her vision. “Don’t do that!”
Moving through the kitchen to a narrow staircase, she heaved a sigh as the pulsing rock music faded to a dull roar. Darling entered her office and smiled at the young man seated in a chair. “Thanks, Denny,” she said. He was another employee, and she waited until he closed the door.
Darling knelt next to a car seat and dropped a kiss on the sleeping infant’s cheek. White light zigzagged before her eyes. “Stop it!” she said.
“But you’re so beautiful,” Darryl said.
Her stomach did a slow somersault at the compliment, but he would need more than pretty words and his handsome face to woo her. Straightening, she shoved a diaper bag in his general direction. “I have two more weddings, a funeral, and an awards banquet. You trying to flirt is not on today’s calendar!”
Darryl offered her a smile and her knees turned to jelly. The man would be the death of her. The only reason she still spoke to him was the sleeping toddler. If not for the baby, she’d have kept walking and never looked back.
She brushed a stray curl from her face and planted her hand on her hip when Darryl didn’t move. “I know you may not have anything to do, but I really need to get back downstairs,” she reminded him.
He stepped closer, reaching a hand to tug on the lock of hair she had just swept away. She sucked in a breath, his clean masculine scent beguiling her. Her gaze dropped to the open collar of his shirt. If she pressed her mouth to his warm skin, would he moan? Darling lifted her head, and he met her lips with a kiss. Too stunned to protest, she sank into his kiss, savoring the spicy taste of him and the firmness of his lips. He skimmed the curve of her spine with his hands before resting them at her hips. Drawing her closer, he brought her against the hard line of his arousal. Desire exploded, and she wiggled her hips in hopes of easing the sudden tension at the apex of her thighs. As if sensing her need, he cupped her butt, shifting her slightly until he was wedged between her legs.
Lightning arced through her veins as he settled more firmly against her core. She gasped, and he deepened the kiss, tongues dueling in a fevered dance. Tightening her arms around his neck, Darling relished the sensations vibrating through her system, and decided to enjoy them.
Lifting his head, Darryl stared into her face. For once she didn’t care if he knew how much she wanted him, her fingers stroked the nape of his neck. She regarded him a moment before he brushed his lips across hers one last time before stepping away.
“I like flirting with you.” He trailed his fingers down her arm.
And with those few words he ruined the mood. She drew a ragged breath into her lungs and shoved his hand aside. How could one little kiss leave her so edgy and uncomfortable? She couldn’t give in to the demands of her body. She needed a clear head.

Flight of Fancy by Marie Harte:Aidan Marshall isn’t like the others who now work as civilians for the PowerUp! gym. He doesn’t feel like he fits in, even among the misfits. Being gay means nothing to the people he’s with. He can read thoughts and speak with his mind, and no one ever feels comfortable in his presence. Hell, even he doesn’t like to be left alone with himself.
When his boss assigns him a mission to locate a stolen book, he jumps at the chance to use his psychic abilities and prove himself a valuable part of the team. He’s fine working on his own and has nearly located the book he’s been sent to retrieve when Gavin Caldwell screws up the entire case.
Gavin is a pain in the ass. He’s a pencil pusher and a leftover from the administrative nightmare that was the PWP. A nice guy to have on your side when it comes to balancing the books, but otherwise he’s nothing but a burden–as is clearly evidenced when he botches the case. It doesn’t help matters that he’s exactly Aidan’s type.
With no recourse but to use Gavin to right the wrong he’s done, Aidan and Gavin go undercover in a high stakes operation posing as lovers–where anything and everything goes. In the course of their mission, Aidan finds out there’s much more to Gavin than meets the eye, and much more to himself than he’d ever thought possible. Because with Gavin, Aidan learns how to love not only another man, but himself as well.

Character Interview with Natalia and Cristian from Leia Shaw’s Destiny Unchained
I had the pleasure of interviewing Cristian and Natalia. They definitely had spark between them.
Thanks coming by. Please tell us about you: job, hobbies, special talents, and anything else you would want to share.
N: Special talents? Well, I’m a vampire assassin so I kill things. And I do it well.
C: She’s more than just that. She doesn’t like to admit it but she has a compassionate side. *whispers to Lia* And she only kills the bad guys.
N: *rolls eyes* I’m a vampire. I can hear you.
C: *chuckles* Well, I’m alpha of the northwest werewolf pack. My hobbies include keeping the rowdy pack in line. I’m also a forest ranger in Yellowstone National Park.
Tell us about the first time you met.
C: She tried to kill me.
N: You started it!
C: She was about to kill one of my kind so I shot her with a poison arrow.
N: *smirks* Not exactly the romantic start you were expecting, is it?
C: When she woke up, she got free from my bindings and –
N: Kicked his ass.
C: I was caught off guard.
N: By my knife in your back.
*both glare at each other then break away*
C& N: Next question.
What drew you to each other?
C: Her courage. Her sense of humor and cunning intelligence. And the soft side hidden deep inside that cold exterior. *look at Natalia and grins* So, sweetheart, what drew you to me?
N: I ask myself that question every day. I can only guess I’m slowly slipping into the dark oblivion of insanity.
C: *pinches her leg*
*More glaring*
What is your favorite part of each other?
C: Her strength and determination.
N: Pass.
C: No. *uses alpha stare* I let you slide in the last question. This one you answer.
N: Fine. *rolls eyes* His hot, god-like body. *pauses* And his open acceptance of who I am.
Care to share future plans?
N: Now that would give way the ending to our story. *smiles sweetly* And then we’d have to kill you.
Lia: Well I guess we’ll have to read the story to find out. lol. Thank you, again, Critian and Natalia, for coming by and doing the interview.
The Destiny Series by Leia Shaw
Destiny Divided
After fleeing her native city — and nightmares of a traumatic childhood — Sage Peterson meets the overbearing, pretentious, yet haunted Professor Elias. He’s the only one who knows about her mysterious powers, which seem to be spiraling out of control. When he convinces her to train with him, she finds herself thrust into a five hundred year war and on the run from vampires, werewolves, and even worse — her budding feelings for James Elias.
Destiny United
Erin Bolton knows her former foster sister is a sorceress and a witch, but she wants nothing to do with that world. The day before her twenty first birthday, a tall, dark, and terrifying vampire, Marcelo, turns Erin’s world upside down. He convinces her that he was sent to escort her to the safety of the Underworld, where her sister is waiting. But she wonders, who will keep her safe from him?
They call her The Huntress. A vampire with lethal focus, Natalia hunts rogue werewolves and kills them without mercy. She buried her heart centuries ago. Now she lives only for revenge. But when she’s forced to team up with the alpha of the northwest werewolf pack to catch a werewolf serial killer, her carefully controlled world is shattered by the passionate Cristian. Will Natalia accept Cristian’s claim on her heart even if it means sacrificing a part of who she is?
About Leia
I began my writing journey while I was stranded at the airport waiting for my delayed flight. I browsed the Border’s kiosk and grew frustrated that I couldn’t find the “it factor” — the perfect combination of alpha male-ness, ass-kickery, strong females, magic, and sex. So I spent the next four hours on an airplane writing my first book on scraps of paper and an airsick bag (which thankfully I didn’t need to use).
Now I spend too much time in my head, plotting evil villains and the hot men (and women) who ruthlessly kill them. I think far too much about fae politics, dragon power games, and how fast werewolves can change forms. But writing my paranormal romance series has given me a productive place to express those dark places in my mind.
I live in New England with my husband and two kids. Though I will go to my grave denying it, my husband insists I would be thrilled if he suddenly sprouted fangs.

“Where are you?”
“Shopping. Is there a problem?”

Interview with Christine Warner
And she brought Sunny with her.
Hi Christine! Tell us about your book/series and how did the idea come to you?
Christine: I actually came up with the story idea for Some Like it in Handcuffs with the title. From there I came up with the characters, plot and storyline. This is a series of books that will include Sunny Kennedy, the heroine in this first book and then all the books afterward will feature the stories of her brothers, Derek, Paxton, Brent and Craig Kennedy.
When did the writing bug first bite?
Christine: In middle school I won an essay contest. I had to travel to a huge hotel and read my essay in front of a large room of businessmen and women (I have no memory of who they were really…lol) and afterward several of them came up to me to tell me how they enjoyed my essay and how they were surprised at how well I spoke in front of such a large group. Anyway, I was hooked. From there I won a few other writing contests in school which fueled the dream
Who are you favorite authors, book/series?
Christine: I LOVE romance books and really don’t have a favorite author or series. There are so many good ones out there. I go on recommendations and what covers and titles appeal to me when I’m book shopping. As for other genres, I enjoy true crime and always buy each and every book that Ann Rule releases.
What is your most favorite childhood memory?
Christine: Wow, tough question. I have several great ones. I think one of my all time favorites would be waking up early with my dad while he got ready for work, before anyone else in the house was up. I wasn’t in school and we’d eat breakfast together and talk, which meant he listened to me chatter while he nodded and smiled. He even let me drink coffee with him, which is something that has served me well over the years. LOL
Do you have any hobbies or special things you like to do in your spare time?
Christine: In my spare time I love to write. I’m a bit obsessed I think…lol…and am constantly playing around with characters, storylines and plots in my head. But if you want to know what I like to do that’s not writing related, I really enjoy cooking. I’m not a professional chef by any means
but I enjoy trying new recipes. I find it relaxing to be in the kitchen chopping, peeling, slicing and dicing
Any advice for new writers just starting out?
Christine: Join a critique group that you mesh with and learn to trust them as well as your instincts. Read as many books about the craft as you can and read, read, read in the genre you want to write
It’s amazing how much you can learn about writing by reading.
Boxers, brief or commando?
Christine: Hmm…depends on the day. Sometimes I’m a bit more friskier than others….lol. On average I’d have to say boxers…something sexy about them there boxers :)
Favorite eye color?
Christine: Great question. That’s always the first thing I notice about a man. I love the dark, dark brown eyes that are almost black…and I also am drawn to green.
What’s the strangest thing you’ve heard or seen?
Christine: LOL… I think I have a few answers but I’ll go with the llama that ran across our front yard several years back. We live in the country and not far from us there is a llama farm. One got loose and the farmer did come by and eventually caught him. But I have to say it caught me by surprise to look out my window and see such an odd animal racing across my lawn. I’ve had cows, horses, fox, rabbit, dogs, deer….but that was the first—and last—llama.
Hi Sunny! Tell us about the first time you saw Judson.
Sunny: The first time I saw Judson he was pulling me from the bar where I worked undercover. He led me away in handcuffs. At first I was angry, until I noticed his blue-gray eyes. The same color as a stormy sky on a spring day. I literally tripped over my own two feet.
What drew you to him?
Sunny: His subtle humor. And his ability to make me feel safe and secure, even though I didn’t think I needed a man to feel that way.
What is your favorite part of him?
Sunny: That he accepted me for who I am. Sass and all. lol
Care to share future plans?
Sunny: Christine won’t let me review too much because she’s sharing some of what is happening with Judson and I in the story she is writing about my brother Derek in Some Like it on the Run. So I guess I better stay quiet for now, which isn’t an easy thing for me to do. Lol
Thanks for having us on your blog today Lia
Some Like it in Handcuffs
Sunny Kennedy, the only female in a family of blue blood male detectives, is determined to prove testosterone isn’t the only qualification required to solve a cold case. Handcuffed while undercover then taken to the precinct by an attractive detective, her domineering family demands she work with Detective Judson Blackwolf, or she’s off the case.
Judson Blackwolf thinks women in law enforcement should work behind the scenes. The prospect of working with his Captain’s sexy daughter doesn’t thrill him. He only agrees in hopes of solving the murder of his one time mentor’s daughter. Once the case is over, he’s moving toMontanato heal his wounds from the loss of his last partner.
But when their investigation takes a dangerous turn, Sunny and Jud soon realize their feelings for each other cannot be denied.
Excerpt:
“This isn’t how I wanted it between us.” Judson grabbed the neckline of her sweater, dragging her body to meet his with a solid thump. Sunny licked her lips in answer to the question in his eyes. He lowered his head to move his mouth over hers.
Sunny closed her eyes, a small whimper escaping her lips. She didn’t want it like this either, but that wasn’t possible. Unable to resist her attraction she accepted it wasn’t an affair, or a long distance romance she craved, but for him to love her back. It was all or nothing for her. Her heart sank. She accepted this as their goodbye kiss.
With no thought to what was happening upstairs, Sunny rose up on her toes demanding more. Her lips pulsated against Judson’s. When his hand trembled against her cheek in a soft caress she lost touch with reality.
“Judson.” Sunny’s weakened body drifted farther into Judson’s as his fingers glided down her arms, pulling them to her sides where their fingers intertwined. He forced them behind her before his tongue thrust into her mouth.
Their bodies molded together, she heard her own heartbeat and his as well when he curved his fingers around her rear and squeezed.
That’s when the click of the handcuffs against her wrist connected her to the handle of the locked cupboard.
“What the hell…Judson?” She looked up at him, her knees shook, her body still inflamed with fever.
“Like I was saying, you wait here and I’ll go upstairs to check it out. Backup’s already been called, so you’re safe until your brothers arrive.” Judson winked before walking toward the steps to the third level. Once he reached them he turned toward her and smiled. “Gotcha,” he whispered with his notorious grin.

Character Post from Josh and Hannah
Hi! Happy Friday! I have Hannah and Josh from Carrie Ann Ryan’s Trinity Bound.
Josh: *walks in shirtless and stretches his arms above his head* Hello, y’all.
Hannah: *stares at Josh and blinks* Uh yeah. Hi.
Josh: *leans over and kisses his mate* I just got back from training and took a shower, sorry I’m all wet.
Hannah: Uh huh. *blinks and coughs* Oh, anyway. We’re here today to talk about what it’s like to live in a werewolf pack and not actually be werewolves.
Josh: Because, frankly, it’s a whole new ballpark knowing the people around you can turn into wolves at any moment.
Hannah: True. I think I’m in a different boat from Josh because I’m a witch. So I knew about werewolves my whole life.
Josh: But you never lived in a coven, so it’s still a little different for you.
Hannah: Yes, I mean, I may have known about them, but I didn’t know how to live with them. The whole idea of a Pack and its structure is much more complex than I thought. I love how everyone is a group but still individual.
Josh: And everyone can rely on each other. At least in our Pack.
Hannah: I think that’s the best part. We’re a family now.
Josh: *leans over and kisses Hannah softly* But you know, that’s not always a good thing. Because no matter what you do, werewolves can hear, see, and smell everything you’ve done.
Hannah: *blushes*And I swear, they talk about sex so openly, it’s a bit daunting.
Josh: *throws his head back and laughs* It’s hard to look Edward and Pat in the eyes sometimes after what we’ve done with Reed.
Hannah: *blushes harder* Josh…
Josh: Sorry baby. *holds her closer and kisses her again*
Hannah: *pulls away* Josh….
Josh: I think it’s time to go now. *growls*
Hannah: Well…okay…Does anyone have any questions for us? Ask away. Carrie Ann will be around to help!
Josh: *picks her up and carries her around the room.* Bye everyone.
Carrie Ann: Well, since Josh and Hannah will *ahem* busy for a while, I’ll be here with answers for you! Ask away. Also, I’m giving away this bracelet and a swag pack to a lucky commenter!!

But as her fellow captive, a werewolf named Reed, tries to calm her fears, she begins to feel a spark of something she never thought she’d feel – love. But is Reed, alone, enough to get her out of this dark basement so she can move on with her life?
Reed Jamenson, the artist of a werewolf Pack of Alpha males, knows instinctually that Hannah is his mate. Thus, despite their imprisonment, he will do all to protect her and then worry about their hearts. But is he strong enough to find a way for both of them to escape? And why does he feel as though something else is missing?
Josh Kolb, an ex-military human, stumbles upon Reed and Hannah and finds he must trust this new world of supernatural beings to survive. But that desire will lead the three to a triangle of attraction that will test the boundaries they all possess and its consequences in defeating the enemy. Can they all trust one another to save themselves and life as they know it? Even at the cost of their own hearts?
Excerpt
Snowflakes stuck to Josh’s eyelashes and he bat them away. A strong gust blew past him, the cold chilling his bones. He surveyed his surroundings, taking a silent step through the undergrowth. Tall trees reached to the sky, blocking whatever sunlight filtered through the dreary storm clouds. Their limbs heavy with leaves and the extra weight of collecting snow drooped down, dropping snow bundles on his shoulder and in one unfortunate incident, his face. If only he could have Found these two in the nice spring or cool fall months. No, he had to search for them in the onset of winter and the beginning of what looked to be a deadly snow storm. Lucky guy.
When he left his bench on Main Street, he had quickly gone home to fetch some of his equipment. He dressed warmer, grabbed a pack with extra clothes for Reed and the witch, some food and water, and weapons. Lots of weapons. Knifes and blades of various shapes and sizes adorned his body. He had his SIG strapped to his side, with extra ammo in his belt. Sadly he didn’t have any silver, but lead would at least slow the beasts down if they came after him.
And they would. Because as he followed the trail in his mind to this remote bunker, his sense of unease swelled to a staggering sensation. Crap, he might not make it this time. He was but one man. One human at that. But looking down at the lair that held two people that he needed to find, he set aside those worries and the creeps it gave off. The two of them were more important – for some unknown reason. And if anyone truly knew him, they would know that it was freaking hard to give Josh the creeps. But he ignored those chills as well.
