I was born and raised in Baltimore, Maryland and now I live
not far from my birth place in Perry Hall, Maryland. I have two teenage
daughters and a man that keep me busy when I’m not working full-time as a Certified
Medical Coder. I’m an avid reader and I love all genre of romantic fiction from
historical to contemporary to paranormal. Sleeping has always been a problem
for me so most nights I can be found in the living room reading or writing
instead of in bed like the rest of the world. I don’t watch television. It’s
not a conscious decision, it just never occurs to me to turn it on when I have
books to read and writing to do. It can actually be a hazard, because I never
know what the weather will be until I look outside and I have to rely on my
kids and coworkers for local and world news. I love creating the characters you
love and love to hate. My characters remind me of people I know and people I
wish I had never known.

Sunday Snippet!
He walked her up the stairs and to her room. She turned. “Thank—”
Before she could finish his arms slipped around her waist and she was pulled against him. At first she was stunned, and then she went with it and wrapped her arms around his neck.
“Sorry,” Logan whispered into her ear. “I just think we both need a hug.”
The warmth was nice, the contact even more. And before she knew she was crying on his shoulder. He tightened the hug. And she let herself be held.
“Thank you,” she whispered.
The neighbor peeked out at them. “I think we need to go in.”
She nodded and reluctantly let go. She dug out her key card and let them into the room.
He followed her in looking around. “The room looks much better on the inside then the out.”
She was drying the tears. “It is.”
“You okay?”
“I got the call for the meeting Wednesday. I was getting out of my car, noticed my husband was home. I went in the house. I was so excited to tell him about this, it was the start of our anniversary vacation. Five years married. I walked into the room and there he was boinking the pretty neighbor in our bed.” Alisa sat down heavily on the bed.
“I’m sorry.”
She looked down at her hands in her lap. “I lost a hundred and ten pounds for him, we couldn’t have a baby, we—” She took in a deep breath. “I should have ended it a few years ago. There has been nothing there anymore. We were stuck. I guess I thought there would be no other.”
Logan sat beside her and put his arm around her. “I think you are pretty, smart, witty, nerdy, and awesome. Anyone love to have you, and would regret loosing you.”
She looked at him. “I’m sorry. That hug just made me puke out my feelings. Are you okay?”
He looked away from her. “She boinked my so called best friend, she boinked other strange men even when we were together. I had to get tested. I was terrified. When the results came back okay I had a small nervous breakdown. Of course Roman would have none of that. I think the trouble started when we talked about her moving to Los Angeles. She wanted me to stay in New York, but my job was here, and her job was there as well as her estranged husband and son.” He stopped and she saw he was regrouping his thoughts.
“There were too many warning signs.” He shook his head. “I have to go. I need to get a little rest before dealing with Roman tomorrow. Good thing we are almost done.”
He walked to the door and she followed. “Good night,” she said holding the door.
“One more hug for the road?”
“Sure.” They held each other.
“Alisa,” he whispered.
“Yes.”
“I have to go. Because at this moment. I want to kiss you.” She let go of him, shocked and nervous. “Good night, now lock up. I would be sad if something bad happens to you.”
She nodded and closed the door. She leaned against it. Her heart hammered in her chest. Her mind wondered what it would be like to kiss him. She shook her head. Can’t do this, you silly girl. He is a movie stay, what will happen afterwards?
“I go back to my boring life minus a husband and an overbearing mother,” Alisa told herself out loud. But that didn’t stop the dirty thoughts that spiraled around her head, neither did the shower or looking over emails.

Writing what you want.
I’m not sure who created the you wrote this genre book now you are to stay this genre. My stories are all different. From science fiction to fantasy to paranormal to weird to romance. Each story is different. Why should I be labeled? If I write a science fiction book I might write another one down the line or I might not, in this case there will be more. I will be branching out with even more soon with my contemporary romance, steampunk and a thriller. I hate labels. Let someone be creative. Do you tell an artist what to paint? A dancer how to dance? A singer what to sing? You do have artists who deal with one genre, or a twist of two or three. That is where they are comfortable, and that’s what they like. Me on the other hand I want to push my limits. My stories are all different. I like to see how this develops. Will it get scary? Will there be sexy combination I wasn’t expecting? Is there a knife fight? Or some unexplainable death? Now how the hell do I explain it? Writing is a journey into those realms I want to explore. Kind of like that weird reincurring dream, you get to that door like always, reach out your hand to open it, and then wake up. What is behind the door? And are you ready to make it amazing?

Will they uncover the secrets that bind them? Will they succumb to the devil himself?
Book Review
Overall I give this book 3 stars. There were some slight editing issues, but I could easily overlook them as the story kept moving. I was as irritated as Leah to find out her secret for the first part of the book. This is a good read, with romance, a little steaminess, sadness, and lots of blood and action. Leah is a strong character, who took a big beating through out the book emotionally and physically. If you like paranormal reads give this one a shot.

Excerpt
“You look fabulous,” I sighed. “It’s a shame you’re only going to a business dinner.”
“That’s all I need, Leah,” Mom said firmly. She cupped my chin in her hand and kissed my forehead.
“No, it’s not,” I said pushing her hand away. She smiled and went to sit back down at her desk. “I’m twenty-two years old. I hate seeing you alone all the time. Mom, you deserve to have a life away from the store and me. I promise I won’t fall apart if you find somebody.”
“It doesn’t matter how old you are, baby. I know you would love for me to find a man who could love me, but my heart belongs to your dad. No other man will ever be able to change that.”
“You can’t even try? I’m sure he never expected you to be alone forever.” I may not have known him, but if he had loved her the way she does him, it’s a safe bet I was right. “What would he say if he knew you’ve been hiding behind him all these years?”
Silence prevailed for a minute. I even thought I might have finally made my point. Then she looked back up at me. I knew then I’d gone too far. Upsetting her was the last thing I wanted to do. Tears flooded her deep blue eyes even as a soft, patient smile formed over her perfect porcelain face.
“I don’t know what he’d say,” she said quietly. “But, baby, I think he’d understand. The last night I saw him I found out how cruel and unpredictable this world can be. There are things, people in this world that can change your life in an instant, Leah. Most times you don’t even know who or what to look for until it’s too late. I lived through the pain once; I refuse to go through it again.”
“You think he’s dead don’t you?” Finally, the one question I’d never had the nerve to ask was out there.
“I know he is, honey,” she answered, turning in her chair to face me. “Death is the only thing that would keep him away,” she said, sitting down at her desk. “If only I had listened.”
“What do you mean by that?”
“Nothing, sweetie. I just wish he could have been here for you,” she said quietly. She turned back to her mirror, tears rolling down her cheeks. “He would have been such a good father.”
“You know one of these days you’re gonna have to tell me about him,” I said softly. For years I’ve wondered about him. What did he look like? Did he have bright green eyes and dark brown hair like me? Did he have the same rich olive skin tone I do? Was he strong? Kind? What did his laugh sound like? Did he even have a sense of humor? Would he be proud of me now?
“I know it hurts, but I don’t even know what my own father looks like.”
“And one day I will,” she said, wiping away the tears. “But right now it’s still too hard.”
“Maybe if you actually talked about him it wouldn’t be so hard.”
“With talk comes questions, Leah,” she said looking up at me through the reflection in mirror. “With those questions come answers I can’t give. Not on my own.”
“I’m willing to listen if you’re willing to try.”
“I know you are,” she said softly. “But I can’t.”
“Then who?” I asked desperately. “It’s not like we have family I can go to.” An only child, my mom’s parents had been killed in a horrible automobile accident weeks before she found out she was pregnant. Then my dad disappeared. Shortly after I was born, his parents passed away as they slept when their house caught fire. He’d had a sister, but nobody had heard from her after she’d run away from home. “Like it or not, you’re it.”
“Leah, not now. Not tonight.”
“When then? When I’m forty? When you’re ninety and need to clear your conscious?”
“I don’t know,” she sighed. “But when the day comes you’ll be the first to know.”

My Mechanical Angel Cover Reveal!
I was very excited about this one. I have been following Harmony since she let me read Apocalypse of Angels, which was a fun read! She had kept a few of us in the loop as this story bloomed and she started to write it. And then I was given the chance to beta! So here it is:
The small Wild West farming community of Whitcomb was afraid of Seraphton, the shining metropolis that lies along the horizon. Reverend Archibald preached that the city was forbidden, an abomination to the world, and evil demons lurk inside despite the celestial name. Emmaline had a feeling there was more to Seraphton than the Reverend let on. Emmaline Fortenbury had always felt out of place in Whitcomb and wondered if Seraphton was really like he said. He preached like he held a grudge. What were the secrets of Seraphton and how did it connect with Reverend Archibald?
Then a stranger comes to town and the meeting changes her life. Aleksander Galloway was feared by the townspeople, but she found him fascinating. She wanted more out of life for herself. She wanted the chance to explore the world, and he seemed to be the man to help her. He had silver metal wings and a mechanical eye. He was handsome in a way that wasn’t like the townspeople of Whitcomb. He was sophisticated, educated, and very interesting. How can their love grow when their two towns collide? Can their love bring everyone together for peace?

Harmony Lawson was born on a naval base in San Diego, California. Currently, she and her family live in Northern California in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada Mountains. Her education is in drawing, painting, and writing. When she read her first romance novel at age 16, she became a hopeless romantic.
Harmony is fascinated by angels, and she incorporates research in angels, the Nephilim, and fallen angels into her fictional stories. Many of the descriptions in her books reflect actual documentation found in religious documents.
While she has endured many hardships in life, she believes life will be better tomorrow. Life has its ups and downs, trials and tribulations, and Heaven and Hell. She believes the bad times are a test to prove a person’s worth. Her books reflect on that concept.
