Book Signing Follow-up, Barnes & Noble, Spokane Valley, WA

BOOK SIGNING UPDATE. Sell-out at Barnes & Noble. Saturday, Nov. 23rd, I held my last book signing event @ Barnes & Noble, Spokane Valley, Washington, for the year. It was a cold (30 degrees F), but sunny day and the store was crowded. I met lots of great people, and ultimately I sold all copies on hand of my historical novel, THE SIGN OF THE EAGLE.

About mid-way through the signing, one of the associates approached me and said, "We want you to return next spring for another signing. You are the only author we have even seen, who greets and talks to everyone entering our store, you are fabulous! And when your next novel is published we want you to return for another signing for that book and this one (The Sign of the Eagle), too." I didn't know whether to be flattered or embarrassed by her compliments, but I certainly will return. It also helped that I am a local author.

I want to thank store manager, Leslie, and especially, ast. manager, Khrissie, for assisting in making this a successful book event.

Book Signing Follow-up, Hastings, Spokane Valley, WA

BOOK SIGNING FOLLOW-UP. THE STORE MISPLACED COPIES OF MY BOOK THEY HAD ORDERED. This is how I started out my book signing of THE SIGN OF THE EAGLE @ Hastings Books, Music & Videos, Spokane Valley, Washington, yesterday, Sat. Nov. 16th. Fortunately, never trusting that any store will have my books in stock, I brought 20 copies with me and nearly sold them all. If that was not enough, their restrooms were out of order most of the day, and I had to use the facilities at the hardware store next door when necessary. All wasn't lost as I still did well and met lots of good people in the process. I had already signed at this store twice, so I was surprised I sold so many books. It helped that I was a local author (live here in the Valley) and that was enough for several folks to buy my book. The coming of Christmas helped as three people bought copies as gifts.

Regardless of the mishaps, I want to Book manager, Mary, and associate, Omar, for their assistance and support. As one associate said, I did an "awesome" job selling so many books.

Next Saturday is my final signing of the year. I will be at Barnes & Noble Booksellers, Spokane Valley, Washington for an encore. Details to follow later.

Book Signing Double-Header - Mixed Bag Results

BOOK SIGNING FOLLOW-UP. I consider my book signings for THE SIGN OF THE EAGLE @ Hastings Books, Music & Videos Helena, Montana, 110813 & Barnes & Noble Booksellers, Missoula, MT, 110913, a mixed-bag, result wise. The Hastings event was very successful, a near sell-out. Unfortunately, despite all my efforts, Barnes & Noble, due to very slow traffic, the slowest I have seen at any B&N store, I sold little more than half the books on hand. Management was pleased with the results, but I was not. Unfortunately, those things happen. Perhaps, I have been spoiled by my successes at the other B&N stores where I have signed. Regardless, I met a lot of good people, and the managers and associates at each store were friendly and very accomodating.

I want to thank Hastings store manager, Jed, book manager, Darin, Associate, Gloria; B&N store manager, Alan, weekend manager, Stephanie, associates Amanda and Sean for their support.

Next Saturday, Nov. 16, I will be signing copies @ Hastings, Spokane Valley, WA. Details to follow later.

Book Signing Follow-up Impacted by winds @ B&N Woodinville

BOOK SIGNING FOLLOW-UP. POWER OUTAGE MADE THIS A TWO-DAY EVENT. The Seattle/Puget Sound area experienced high winds and rain on Sat. Nov. 2nd. That has never stopped the people of that area from going about their business. A lot of people flocked to the Barnes & Noble store in Woodinville where I was signing copies of THE SIGN OF THE EAGLE to warm up, drop by Starbucks and buy books. The place was packed, and I was doing very well when all of a sudden the lights went out and the store lost power. Unfortunately, they never came back on and people started leaving the store. A half-hour later, when power still had not been restored, management decide to close for the day. However, since I was not going to leave until later on Sunday, I offered to return for a few hours. The store manager, Dave, and the Community Relations Manager, Mike, were delighted. So, I did return the next morning and stayed three hours. Sunday is a quieter day, so I did not sell out the entire stock, however, the Sunday manager, Tom, was pleased with my efforts and would pass the word up the line.

I emailed Mike today and he was please with my efforts. He would be happy if I returned for an encore signing in the Spring. The chances of another power outage occurring should be very slim.

Next weekend I will be signing @ Hastings, Helena, Montana, Friday, Nov. 8th, and Barnes & Noble, Missoula, MT, Saturday, Nov. 9th. Details to follow.
