Inspiring Interviews: Patrick Humphries: Books, The Beatles and The Power of Music

In this Inspiring Interview, I catch up with accomplished music journalist and author Patrick Humphries. We discuss Patrick’s life, work, writing and his meetings/interviews with 3 of The Beatles (Paul, George and Ringo). We also explore his Patrick’s love for music and the impact of cancer as a teenager at 14 changed his life – losing a leg to it – at a time when most teenagers are seeking to find fun and freedom. He also talks about writing the first biography of mythical musician Nick Drake and his views on where we are as a society when it comes to physical disability. 20 years in coaching & International Coaching Week

This week has been special (like every week). But it’s also International Coaching Week 2024 – and this year it also coincides me qualifying as a coach 20 years ago with the Coaching Academy with whom I’ve been an associate trainer for well over a decade. So it’s been extra special. Over the years I’ve coached hundreds of people and trained many thousands. Each person is special and on their own unique journey. The week started with the second year of a leadership programme I run, then a special coaching conversation event for The Coaching Academy attended by over 100 coaches – on the importance of inclusion. Finally it ended with the news that two people that I have coached from diverse backgrounds gaining promotions. They will both make wonderful, compassionate leaders. To me coaching is ultimately about not coaching one person but, through them helping an entire eco-system to flourish.
