What’s important is our mindset, developing our skillset and resourcefulness – and gathering the help and support we (and others) might need to help us.

Many people find change challenging. Many seek it. What’s certain is that it will come. There will be many personal, professional, organisational, technological and economic changes to navigate throughout your life and work. Some subtle and substantial.
This chapter reminds you of the changing seasons of life, career, leadership, organisations and the world we are in. It will help you to take stock of your life, work and your current environment. It will also help you consider what actions you need to take given the whole course.
As a Soul Leader your job is also about helping bring about change, transformation and growth to improve the lives of your customers, your organisation and its products and services and the lives of your colleagues, staff and stakeholders.
This chapter includes my tool to help you to be aware, alert, accepting and to be able to adjust and adapt which you’ll find below. This chapter also also includes my 7 aspects and dimensions of change which you may also find helpful.
Revisit this course: when you – or others – are seeking or facing personal and professional change and when you are supporting others through it. It may also be useful when you are looking for a wider, deeper or fresh perspective.
The first time you complete this course, consider which areas of the course you need to revisit and the actions that you wish to take. If you are completing the course (or revisiting elements of the course) after the second or any number of times, then take time to also note and celebrate your achievements and progress.

Dr Andy Knox
In this very special Soul Leader Inspiring Interview Coach-Speaker-Author, Rasheed Ogunlaru speaks to Dr Andy Knox, author of Sick Society.
Andy is a family doctor, Associate Medical Director for Lancashire and South Cumbria Integrated Care Board – where he focuses on health inequity and population health. He also has an honorary professor role at Lancashire University’s Management school where he specialises in compassionate leadership. He is also (like Rasheed) an associate of the Centre for Population Health.
During this discussion Andy talks of the importance of ‘hospitality’ and ‘humility’ in leadership. He shares the importance and compassion and invites us to explore how we can hold great spaces and how in times of complexity – we can find a way to bring people together to create action to solve often complex problems.
Andy recalls being 14 years old and beginning to explore “In the time that I have on this Earth how can I use the talents that I have to serve others?” This is a question that he continues to ask, and poses in this interview. He shares insights from his life, faith and his journey – and how his family history and roots and his own journey and purpose are intertwined.

What a pleasure to co-host Start Up Day 2024
Wow, what an amazing Start Up Day 2024 and #GlobalEntrepeurshipWeek it was. This video captures some of my clips and highlights from #BIPCStartUpDay The British Library. It was a joy to co-host this event alongside Jacqueline Brown.
Thanks to everyone who attended on-site The British Library and via Business & IP Centre network online, via live stream and at special screenings. You made the day so special. Huge thanks to our amazing speakers including Sara Davies MBE Charlie Bigham Martha Keith Denise Nurse Francesca Smith Marc Ortmans Dean Williams Cien Solon Farzana Rahman Mickela Hall-Ramsay Helen Edwards. Plus huge thanks to all the amazing delivery partners and eveyone who ran sessions.
The day got off to a great start with outgoing British Library Chief Executive Sir Roly Keating and a great online welcome from Sir Chris Bryant and included inspiring talks, panel discussions, speed mentoring, tours of the Business & IP Centre, opportunities to network and to get photo promo head shots. Huge thanks to everyone who was involved in every part of the day: planning, marketing, on site management, cameras, sound and vision, photography, catering…. and anyone else I’ve forgotten. Thanks Isabel Oswell for helping to close this amazing day.
