I'm a wife, mother, and bona fide Southern belle. Published author, expert corn bread maker, and Squirrel Princess.

I live in Tulsa, though I was born in Mississippi. I moved to the Sooner State when I was seventeen and met my soul mate and best friend not long after. I've retained a little of my Mississippi accent though most people think I'm from Texas. (?) Rob and I have been married for over twenty years and have a son--a mom proclaimed prodigy, of course!

I love homemade tacos, nail polish, and romance novels--not necessarily in that order. I'm a big fan of country music, a staunch proponent of saving the Oxford comma, and I'm shamefully obsessed with all things Harry Potter.

I believe that God is love. I guess that's why I adore romances

I've really enjoyed taking traditional romance stories and setting them with Amish characters. It's been a pleasure and a blessing. (less)

Southern Hospitality required a lot more research into police procedural and court behaviors than it appears on the surface. The book I'm working on now features a prominent Mennonite character. I've had to do a lot of research to uncover the more subtle differences between the Mennonites and the Amish. I also do a lot of research as I go along. As a former history major, I can get lost in all the books and websites and everything available to me to use for research. Sometimes it's better to start he story and then stop when necessary.(less)

A Million to One Chapter Seventeen

Christmas morning dawned bright and early. Claire awoke, at first startled that she had been asleep. It had proved to be a fitful night. She had been content being in his arms but hadn’t rested well with the ring weighing heavily on her finger. Not with so many unanswered questions swimming around in her head.

Quietly, so as not to wake the others, she made a pot of coffee and settled down with her

Amy Lillard Amish Romance is a new endeavor for me. I live in Oklahoma and we have an Amish community nearby. When I decided to start the project I wanted something a little different. My books are set in good ol' OK. :) And yes, the Amish people are very friendly.

Glad to add you to my list of friends, though you may already know me as Amie Louellen. :)

Hywela Thanks for adding me to your list of friends. I was interested to see you write Amish romances. I recently returned from the UK after a visit to Pennsylvania and Ohio. Beautiful country and the Amish people were so friendly.
