Bestselling author Imogen Clark writes contemporary womens fiction about the secrets that hide at the heart of the families that she creates. She lives in Yorkshire with her husband and children (who hopefully have no such secrets to tell!)

POSTCARDS FROM A STRANGER and THE THING ABOUT CLARE both reached the top of the Amazon Kindle Charts in the UK and Australia and WHERE THE STORY STARTS has been an Amazon bestseller.

Imogen initially qualified as a lawyer but after leaving her legal career behind to care for her four children, she returned to her first love - books. She went back to University, studying part-time whilst the children were at school and graduated with a BA in English Literature with First Class Honours.

Hi Stephen.

Yes, there has been a quantity of champagne consumed over the last year - on the deal, publication and then it hitting the number 1 slot in the UK and Australia! It's all been very exciting so far. And my second book THE THING ABOUT CLARE is out on 1st December so I'm hoping to be able to do it all over again!

Hi Julie and thank you for your kind words.
I run a Facebook page and the usual social media and I have a website but other than the marketing done for me by my publisher Lake Union I think sales have mainly been down to word of mouth and reviews.
Best wishes

The Class of 2020

Well, what strange times we are suddenly living in. I am fortunate enough that all my friends and family are currently well, I have food in my cupboards and a job that wont stop paying me because of Coronavirus. I am feeling very privileged right now.

“He never wanted any of my friends round. I had plenty of friends when we first got married, but if they came to visit when he was at home, he’d be rude to them and make them feel uncomfortable. So, eventually, they made excuses and stopped coming.”
Imogen Clark, Postcards From a Stranger

“How did people get through the death of their loved ones unscathed? It felt like an impossible task to her, and one that she was totally unprepared for.”
Imogen Clark, Where the Story Starts

“And what she does may not be what she would choose to do in an ideal world; life is all about compromise, after all.”
