Amy Lillard Hi, Linda-- YES! I am working on the next book in the Nate Fisher Series right now! That said, I'm not sure when it will be released, but it is in the works! Thanks for reading!
Amy Lillard Hey, Abby-- I'm so glad you have enjoyed the Kappy Series! She is so much fun to write. It's on my radar to work on this year, so cross your fingers nothing else gets in the way. But rest assured, it's on the way. It helps me to know that readers out there are rearing to read it! Thanks! Amy
Amy Lillard Sorry! Nothing. My life is vanilla. Maybe that's why I write books...
Amy Lillard Duh, Hogwarts. As for what I would do? Get sorted into my house. (I'm thinking Ravenclaw), then head to Hogsmeade and drink some butterbeer. Learn History of the Dark Arts from whoever is teaching it and learn how to play quidditch.
Amy Lillard I'm sort of going through my kindle. So whatever strikes my fancy once I finish the one I'm reading. But I have had the privilege of meeting both Emily Giffin and Lisa Wingate this summer so both of their newest releases are on my radar. The Summer Pact by EG and Shelterwood by LW for sure!
Amy Lillard I'm not sure why you are having trouble finding them. But the series orders are as follows...

KAPPY KING SERIES
Kappy King and the Puppy Kaper
Kappy King and the Pickle Kaper
Kappy King and the Pie Kaper
This Little Piggy: Kappy King and the Pig Kaper

SUNFLOWER CAFE SERIES
Dairy, Dairy, Quite Contrary
A Murder of Aspic Proportions
A Murder for the Sages

Hope this helps!
Thanks for reading! A
Amy Lillard So sorry! But just think what you have to look forward to! LOL Yes, Arlo left Mads at Prom and went home with Sam. HS drama to small town love triangle. :)
Amy Lillard Hey, Sheila--So glad you are enjoying the series! So I guess you are firmly on Team Sam? LOL Well, there is another Main Street Book Club mystery brewing. As of right now, I'm not sure when it will be released. Most likely at the beginning of 2023. Thanks for sending me a message. It's good to know that the series is being enjoyed by readers! Can't Judge a Book is the first in the series. After that is A Murder Between the Pages and A Murder Like No Author. Happy Reading!
Amy Lillard Yes! In fact, I am currently working on This Little Piggy which is the fourth book in the series. I'm hoping to have it out to readers by the end of February 2022. I'm also planning Any Way You Slice It, book five, for fall of 2022. Yep, Kappy and Edie ride again! And thanks for reading! It means a lot to me that readers have enjoyed these books!
Amy Lillard Southern Hospitality is my absolute favorite book of my own overall. Amish book I would have to say that it's a toss up on any given day between Titus Returns and Marrying Jonah. But then I do love Buddy and Jenna from Loving Jenna. And Gideon being the first will always have a special place in my heart. But I do love the humor in Gabriel's Bride...Maybe I can't pick just one Amish. LOL
Amy Lillard I worked retail for many years. I sold shoes! I love shoes! So if I couldn't be doing this I would still love to be doing that! And yes, I had a GREAT collection! :)
Amy Lillard Wells Landing is set in Oklahoma for a couple of reasons. First, it's the state I now call home and secondly its location is the same as that of Chouteau where Oklahoma has an Amish community. Both reasons made it easy and logical to set Wells Landing here. :)
Amy Lillard Hey Liz, I don't normally name characters after people I know, though it does occasionally happen. Naming characters can be tricky and I've found it best not to force it. :)
Amy Lillard I have a recipe on my website for Apple Crisp that is credited as being Amish and it's delicious! And my Amish friend made a fantastic tomato pie when I was visiting one time. But Amish recipes are sort of like Amish proverbs. Watch out because you can find Amish recipes for about everything from lasagna to enchiladas. In my opinion, the only truly Amish recipe is yumasetti which in truth is very much like the goulash my mother made when we were growing up. You know, ground beef and noodles. And then there are soft pretzels. Did you know that the Amish are credited for bringing pretzels to America? Perhaps that is the true Amish food...?
Amy Lillard In all my travels among the Amish and all the Amish people I have talked to, not one have known what an Amish proverb is. So I'm really not certain where the idea of Amish proverbs came from. I've even seen some sayings of wisdom that were pegged as Amish proverbs but credited to Ben Franklin. Last time I checked, ol' Ben wasn't Amish. But, as far as the sayings themselves go, my favorite is Plow with the horse you have. Though I have to admit it sounds like something my own poppaw would have said. And he wasn't Amish either! :)
Amy Lillard Next book comes out in July!
Amy Lillard Yes and no. I have a little control. I tell my editor my ideas and he says yay or nay. I'm fortunate and have a good relationship with all my editors. They are always willing to listen, but in turn I listen as well. It take a good team to make a good book! :)
Amy Lillard Of course! Sometimes intentionally and sometimes not. But characters really come to life if the reader can relate to them on some level--like if they remind you of someone in your life. Chances are if I know someone like that, you probably do too! :)
Amy Lillard I wish I could say a resounding YES! But as of right now there are only three. I dream of writing another and hope to be able to do so. Only time will tell.
Amy Lillard Hi, Susan! I'm one of those fortunate writers who serves as an idea magnate. I'm never without one idea or another. Depending on outside circumstances (family, etc) I usually allot myself eight weeks to write a book. However I write better under pressure (not sure why that is) and can finish a first draft in four or five. Writing is my full time job and I take most of my day to write like others would go to the office.

I soak up ideas. Everyone around me knows that anything that they tell me might end up in a book in one way or another. Camille and her big white handbag in Can't Judge a Book by Its Murder was patterned after my best friend's mother and her handbag. She never sat it down, not even when she was at my friend's house! It became something of a joke between us and naturally seemed the right fit for Camille.

As for my writing style, I am a plotter--a writer who plans out the book before starting. I feel this helps me write quicker and allows me to be able to stop while writing and edit something else, which unfortunately I have to do. You could say that I'm a little ADD (okay, a lot!) so plotting it all out beforehand and having a chapter by chapter outline for the book keeps me on schedule as well as helps me keep my focus. And before you ask. Yes! Sometimes the characters completely take over the story and the outline goes right out the window! Those are usually the times when I have to ask for an extension on my deadline. Oh, the best laid plans...

Thanks for you question! Sorry it took me so long to answer! I didn't see it was there until today!
