Hi all,
I'm out visiting Jen Wright today talk about Re-Submission. You can find us here. In the meantime, I'm handing over my place to a special guest. He is a multi-published author with Siren-BookStrand. His inspirations come from men with cocky attitudes and sultry smiles. The image boards he creates for the visuals to his books are worth a story of their own. He loves Spain, motorbikes and vampires. Do I need to say more? Ladies and Gentlemen, please give a warm welcome to Mr. Alex Carreras
Hi Alex,
Thanks so much for being my guest today. Sit down, grab a drink and relax. We'll start with some easy questions - The business ones
Please give us a short introduction about yourself : A: I write from Sarasota, Florida where it is always a bright and sunny day, and where men are always at the beach. Great for inspiration.
What genre(s) do you write in and why? A: I am published only in Male/Male. Early on in my writing career I was told to write what you know, so I did.
Tell us about your latest release A: Xander’s Reluctant Mate is the fourth in the Aragon Series based in the Spanish city of Zaragoza, one of my favourite places on Earth. Xander is an ex-mercenary from Africa fighting alongside his brother, Leandro to keep the good city of Zaragoza out of the hands of the Romani, a Romanian clan hell-bent on overtaking the city. Xander happens across Marcos - an addict attempting to come clean - one late night while looking to feed but instead of draining him of his blood completely, he…..Well let’s just say there is hot sex and then the real trouble begins.
Do you need a special setting to write in or do you have a ceremony to get you in the mood? What does it look like?A: I mostly write on my antique French desk that I appropriated from my partner, Scott. He doesn’t seem to mind but I don’t really remember asking if he does mind.
Describe your feelings when you learnt that your first book was accepted for publicationA: When I received the email stating that my novella, Summer Heat was accepted for publication, I got just a little bit light headed. After rereading the email at least five more times, the realization that my lifelong dream of being a published author was finally coming true. It was a great day indeed.
Where do you find inspiration?A: That’s anYour favourite drink and food when writing: A: Wheat thins and chocolate, but not at the same time.
That was easy. Now let's make it a bit prickly - The nosy ones
How much of the real “you” is in your stories? A: Unfortunately I don’t have the sex my characters do but their quirky personalities are definitely all me!
Have you ever had a crush on a fictional character? Who was it? A: Any character portrayed by Jason Statham. Woof. (I'm with you, Alex. Mmmm... ~S)
What’s the silliest error in a book you’ve submitted? A: Error? Error! I am error free!
The steamiest scene from your books: A: I have plenty of steamy in my books. Plenty. But I think Summer Heat will get you hot within the first page. When I reread that story, I’m even surprised how erotic it is. God I love young farm boys.
Favourite comfort food? A: British Pub food. We have a few pubs in the area owned by ex-pats that prefer the sun to the dark and moody days of the U.K.. Lovely food!
A person you admireA: Hilary Clinton…..and Prince Harry.
Very nice. And now let's pace it up for the finale - The fast ones
Favourite colour? Blue
Favourite pet? All of them.

Xander Jakande is an ex-mercenary trying to redeem his dark past by joining his twin brother, Leandro, and the rest of the Fraternidad in the fight against the evil Romani. He hopes to find a mate in the process. Marcos Morales is an ex-addict in need of an attitude adjustment who’s trying to carve out a future…alone. As Xander searches the nighttime streets in search of blood, he comes upon Marcos. Although the attraction is undeniable, both have very hard heads. Will Xander tame the reluctant Marcos, claiming him as his mate for eternity? Or will Marcos retaliate by killing the overbearing vampire for changing him into a vampire against his will, although Xander is already technically dead?In the midst of a vampire war in the city of Zaragoza, Spain, anything can happen between skirmishes and late-night feedings, even finding true love.
Story Excerpt: Xander Jakande knew it was time to feed. His gut ached, and his muscles cried for sustenance, but his mind screamed its reluctance. He doubled over and reached out in search of anything that would help him from toppling onto the cold, dark, shadowy street. Finding a wall, he steadied himself by taking in a few deep breaths. Not too much longer. An elderly woman approached dressed in black from head to foot, her walk nothing but a shuffle. “Señor, are you all right? Can I get you help?” she called in Spanish.Telling himself to stand up straight, he nodded and forced a smile. “I am fine, señora. Just a little too much wine with my dinner. I’m not much of a drinker.” His credible excuse sounded more like an apology.“Are you certain?” She stopped and ran a dubious eye over Xander, her head held high, alert and aware.“No worries.” He dared a step, dropped his hand, then took another. “Thanks for your concern, but it is me that should be concerned for you. It’s too late for a woman of your age to be out walking these streets. Go home and lock your doors.”“Have no concern for me, young man. I have lived on this street my entire life and know every crack and crevice.” The woman arched a slim, silver brow. “And if I was to die tonight on this very street, I would meet my maker with a clear conscience. Would you?”I am already dead.Xander released a chuckle. “I would indeed, señora. I would indeed,” he repeated. “Good night then.” He walked past the old woman, sensing her watery, gray eyes watching him. Wondering. But why can’t I read her thoughts? It had started slowly at first, one person out of every fifty or so, then with more frequency.Since turning into a vampire, the gift of reading thoughts came to him quickly before any of his otherworldly powers. But now, he struggled, especially before feeding. Unlike many other vampires, he would only drink from those who wanted to die, mostly addicts wondering if their last injection would be the one to release them from their horrid and desperate existence. He’d never wanted to kill a person in their prime, healthy, happy, and strong, although his less moral cohorts boasted of their sweetness, sustaining them longer and making them even more powerful. Xander wouldn’t do it because he had been killed in his prime. But it was too late to rehash the past. Beside, he’d done that enough, lately.Unable to read the minds of those he hunted made feeding a little…tricky. He couldn’t listen for their unrelenting pleas for death, their pathetic cries begging for rest. He could only guess.Sure it was easy to tell who the junkies were. Their empty eyes, zombielike gait, shallow breaths reeking of sick and disease were the more common telltale signs. But the insecurity of killing someone, murdering them for his insatiable need to feed was too much. Xander had killed in cold blood before, more for price than pleasure. But that had stopped. He was going straight. He couldn’t be that anymore. He wanted to be like his brother, Leandro, and the other members of the Fraternidadfrom here on out. He vowed he would be a good, kind, but still vengeful vampire, fighting to keep their city of Zaragoza, Spain safe from vampires much like he’d been.“Had been,” he mumbled under his breath, fighting the urge to vomit. “No more.”Stumbling, he regained his footing before brushing into a young man holding an unlit cigarette between the fingers of his right hand. “You have a light?” the young man asked, his voice flat and lifeless.Xander lifted his head and stared into two endless pools of blue. The color of the young man’s eyes was foreign and unfamiliar, but the look of death that surrounded his pitch-black pupils was not.Time to drink. The young man lifted the cigarette to his lips and mimed the act of smoking. “Do you have a light?” he questioned, this time speaking more loudly than before and slower, as if Xander couldn’t understand what he was asking or didn’t speak his language.“Haven’t you heard?” Xander returned. “Smoking kills.”The young man dropped his hand to his side. “So I’ll take that as a no then?”Xander nodded, trying his best to read his thoughts. Nothing. He was blank. No messages. Not a damn thing.Standing this closely to the young man, his slim, muscular body, with the thick, ropey veins jutting from his neck and forearms, screamed to be tasted. But I have to be sure, Xander thought. Or he would be no better than his mercenary brothers and the Romani, the ancient Romanian clan that was trying to overtake the city, turning it into their own personal feeding ground and slave market. He had gone in front of the Fraternidad, with the help of his brother, Leandro, and his lover, Jose, practically begging them to allow him to join in on their fight. A few members proved reluctant due to his suspicious past, but Emerico Espiritu, Leandro’s closest confidante, placed his own reputation on the line asking them to give Xander a chance, a chance he desperately needed if he wanted to continue repairing his fractured relationship with his brother and wash away his past sins. He wanted those things and more, more than his immortal life itself.“Marcos,” the young man offered, shifting his weight from hip to hip and running a hand through his thick, raven-black mass of hair in need of a wash. “I don’t believe I’ve seen you on this street before.”“I’m new to Zaragoza. Haven’t been here that long.”“Are you lost? Because you seem to be a little…disoriented?” Marcos asked, his gaze unrelenting. “Or are you looking?”“What would I be looking for this time of night on this street?”“Anything and everything, if you looked hard enough.”“Is that what you’re doing?” Xander’s cock started to rise and strained against his underwear.“Me? I’m just looking for a light.” He paused and licked along his bottom lip. “But if you have any suggestions, I might be persuaded to change my mind.” ADULT EXCERPT Stepping in, Xander cupped Marcos’s face into his hands. The stubble along his jaw pricked the skin of his palms. He inhaled his sweet and intoxicating scent. The smell of lust slammed into his brain. “You are beautiful,” he growled, his lips only inches from Marcos’s. “Do you know that?”“You don’t have to do that.”“Do what?”“Say nice things. I want you to fuck me so you don’t have to flatter me anymore.”“You don’t like hearing that you are beautiful?”Marcos shrugged, but his eyes gave away nothing. He reached down and unbuttoned and unzipped his pants, allowing them to fall and pool around his ankles. “What do you think about this?” He swatted at his rigid cock curving upward. “It thinks you’re beautiful.”Xander slid his hands slowly down Marcos’s body, his warmth and hardness driving Xander mad.He leaned in and kissed Marcos fully on the mouth, hungry for a taste. He pushed past his lips, forcing his tongue deep into his throat, wet and slick. Xander felt a shudder rip through his body, the taste of Marcos’s full lips better than he had imagined. A long-dormant moan escaped from within him as Marcos licked back, tangling tongues. Xander pushed his tongue in deeper when he filled his fist with Marcos’s swollen cock. He pumped its length. A sharp pain stabbed Xander in the gut, and his head spun, his need to feed overtaking every cell. He separated and gasped for air.“Are you sure you are okay?” Marcos asked. “Believe me, I don’t care what drug you’re on but I don’t want you dying on me. The last thing I need is a fucking cadaver on my hands.”Xander grabbed Marcos by the meat of his arms and spun him forcefully. “I don’t do drugs, unlike you.” Marcos stumbled and landed with his face and chest flush against a wall. “All I need is that tight ass of yours to make me better.”Marcos stretched his arms over his head, angling against the wall. He kicked a leg free from his pants and widened his stance. “Here it is then. Take it. Fuck me like there’s no tomorrow.”There will be no tomorrow for you.Xander fell to his knees and shoved Marcos’s T-shirt up and out of the way. He grabbed at his small but taut ass cheeks and forced them apart, exposing a perfect pink bud surrounded by the finest of blond hair, a stark contrast from the rest of the raven-colored hair on his body. “This is what will solve my problems,” he mumbled under his breath before diving his tongue into the soft and tasty flesh that danced under his lingual touch. Marcos let out a whimper as he pushed back, forcing his ass against Xander’s mouth.“Yeah, baby, work me over with that tongue. Show no mercy.”Xander didn’t intend to.He pushed in harder and deeper, nuzzling and chewing at the delicate bud. It had been way too long since he tasted ass this delectable. He reached between Marcos’s thighs and grabbed at his balls. They were low and heavy, full of the young man’s thick juice. He cupped them into his fist, feeling their weight as he continued to ravage Marcos’s hole. Xander squeezed the silken sac.Marcos threw back his head and arched his spine, releasing a desperate cry. “That…feels…good,” he choked out between sobs. “More.”Xander squeezed and stroked with both hands, impressed by Marcos’s thickness and girth. Normally the drug addicts Xander had been with couldn’t hold an erection this long and strong, but for whatever reason, more than likely a strong constitution, this addict could. He rode his fists up and down feeling the slick juices beginning to ooze from Marcos’s slit, lubricating Xander’s palm. He couldn’t take it anymore. Xander had to have him.In a flash, Xander scrambled to his feet and ripped himself free of his jeans, shoving them down around his ankles along with his underwear. He spat on his hand and slicked his cock, then spat again, but this time transferred the natural lubrication to Marcos’s awaiting, hot manhole. Desperate to take Marcos, he found his target and pushed his entire length deep into his silken tunnel with one quick and powerful thrust. Marcos groaned and whimpered, pressing harder into the wall. “That’s the way to do it.” He spread his legs, allowing Xander more access. “Fuck me. Show me what I dream about.”

Cam is young, sinfully sexy and willing to play without limits, a combination which makes him a fantasy turned to flesh for men and women alike - and he's for sale.
Nate is curious when it comes to carnal delights but hasn't found the right man to explore his desires with.
When a friend buys Nate a few hours of pleasure with Cam, it's not much of a surprise that Nate ends up intrigued. He keeps coming back for more and the attraction between them appears to be mutual but while Nate finds himself falling for the sexy hooker, Cam makes no secret of the fact that for him, sex is just a job.
Determined to win him over, Nathan tries to show him that sex is about more than physical satisfaction but Cam's walls seem impenetrable until a dramatic event forces him to reveal some of his secrets and Nate begins to understand that Cam pays more than just the price for the reality behind the fantasy.

Rubbing a toppy sub, a submissive Top and a Dom with attitude together is guaranteed to send sparks flying — but what will they ignite?
Meet Tyler Kane. Ballsy and headstrong, he's far from being the submissive type. Francis Hollister, Dom and proud owner of a BDSM club, couldn't agree more —and yet, as Tyler carelessly suggests a bet, Francis sees an opportunity arise and decides to take him up on it.
Soon Tyler finds himself in Francis' club and about to be trained as a sub. When Shae, the gorgeous Top Francis has assigned to teach him, doesn't appear to be quite as dominant as his role would lead to believe and Francis turns out to be a rather versatile Dom, Tyler sees a perfect match just waiting to be made happen. Too bad though that he's the only one who sees it. Or maybe he isn’t?Curious to find out what happens when you rub a submissive Top, a toppy sub and a Dom with attitude together and what exactly the sparks from that explosive combination ignite, Tyler enlists the help of Pierce, Francis' brother, and his partner Noah, and sets out on a mission. While Tyler's plan seems to work out astonishingly well, it seems that there's more than one man in the club who is pursuing a hidden agenda…
Reader Advisory: While this book stands alone, it features Noah and Pierce from 'Sub-Mission' and follows up on their story, so you might wish to read that first.
Excerpt:
"Oh, come on, you’ve got to be joking!" Tyler groaned when the smoke-grey Jaguar in front of him slowed and braked yet again instead of just passing the orange light. "Why does this always happen when I’m in a fucking hurry?" he grumbled, drumming his fingers on the steering wheel as he counted to ten. Then twenty. Thirty. The light changed but the Jaguar remained glued to the asphalt and cowered on the road like a beautiful but lazy cat.
"Hel-lo!" Tyler shouted, but nothing happened. Except that the light changed back to red after a short period. "Fuck!"
Tyler thumped the steering wheel and watched the other car. Its driver must have been busy checking stock exchange rates instead of paying attention to the traffic. But then again, with a car like this, the driver was in all probability not the owner but rather some poor soul who had to ferry an overpaid, underworked business executive around. The light went green again and still the Jaguar remained in place.
At last, the driver’s door opened and a slim figure hopped out.
"Damn, how sick can you get?" Tyler muttered. A chauffeur in uniform was one thing, but this one was wearing a uniform made of black leather.
The man went around the car, opened the bonnet and disappeared behind it. Seconds later, he turned up again and walked to the rear of the car where he seemed to be talking to whoever sat in the backseat.
"Oh, for fuck’s sake!" Tyler unclipped his belt, then got out of the car and slammed the door shut, just to vent some of his frustration. Staring at the Jaguar, he shouted, "I don’t care what your problem is, but could you just remove that pile of scrap so I can get past? I’ve somewhere to be and I haven’t got all day to get there."
Startled, the driver glanced in Tyler’s direction but not quite at him. He was younger than Tyler had assumed him to be at first sight. He must have been in his early twenties, but skinny and fine-boned and not Tyler’s type. Plus, his nervy fidgetiness was rather annoying, as was the fact that he didn’t give an answer. Ignoring Tyler, he shifted his attention back to his passenger. Just as Tyler was about to turn around and leave the irritating thing alone, the back door of the car was opened and the mysterious second man emerged.
Tyler froze mid-motion. The driver had been of little interest to him, but the passenger had his entire attention in an instant. Tall and with the kind of posture that suggested a greater physical power than his refined, somewhat snobbish exterior led one to believe, he was right up Tyler’s alley. He was also probably older than him by a few years and quite handsome in a distinguished way. The clothes he wore must have cost more than Tyler earned in a month.
"Sugar daddy," Tyler whispered to himself.
"I apologise for the inconvenience," the man called out to him. "I’m afraid the car refuses to start and my driver has no idea why that is." His voice was kind and pleasant but instead of sounding apologetic, there was a decisive tone to it, as if its owner was used to giving orders and being obeyed without question. Tyler liked it. He went to the Jaguar and held out his hand to the stranger without even thinking about it.
"Tyler Kane. Any clues as to what’s wrong with it?"
"Francis Hollister," the other man replied as he gave Tyler’s hand a dry, firm squeeze. "And no. The engine just died when we stopped and won’t start again."
"Got enough petrol?"
"I hope so." Francis glanced at his leather-clad driver with a faint smile on his face and Tyler, too, turned to the boy. "Well, have you?"
He got a wordless, weak nod in reply.
"Okay. Good. Was there anything unusual with it?"
Not meeting his eyes, the boy didn’t answer.
"Hi there, anyone at home?" Tyler enquired, letting sarcasm seep into his voice. "I’m talking to you. You’re the driver, you must have noticed something. Besides, if that’s your job, you should have some idea about cars. So?"
Still, the young man ignored him and Tyler’s anger flared up again.
"Is there something wrong with you? I’m talking to you. Are you deaf?"
"No, he’s not deaf." Francis took a step closer to him, blocking the chauffeur with his body. "And I’d appreciate it if you didn’t shout at him."
"Well, what’s the matter with him? Can’t he speak for himself?" Tyler asked.
"Not right now, no."
"Why’s that? Cat got his tongue?"
"He’s ordered to silence," Francis said.
"He’s what?"
"Ordered to silence."
"By whom?"
"Me."
"Why?"
Francis didn’t bat an eyelid as he said, "Because I wanted to."

And here is what the reviewer had to say:
"...There is one thing I can definitely say about this book. It kept me on my toes and in anticipation for the entire duration. For me this book is one of the best to show the different faces of “BDSM”. A perfect example that you cannot label anything, a thing may have lots of meanings and in the end nothing can be generalized as we are all unique and tick differently. (...) The beauty of this novel was that it was in the end a wonderful love story, a story of friendship and of life with the most unexpected twist..."

Tuesday Teaser: Michelle Graham - Landing the Big Ones
Hi all,
I'm starting up the New Year's Tuesday Teasers with my lovely fellow Siren author, the talented Michelle Graham. She's patiently sat down for an interview with me, and here is what she has to say:
Please give us a short introduction about yourselfI live in Ontario, Canada with my wonderful husband, and our two children. I have a top secret day job, but at night I write erotic romance!
What genre(s) do you write in and why?I write erotic ménage romance. Romance is one of my favourite genres to read, so writing it seemed a natural extension. As for the ménage part, I just thought that was hot!
Tell us about your latest release Landing the Big Ones is being released today! It is the first in a series about the fictional town of Hedon Falls, Ontario. It’s about a single mom whose son has been begging for a pet for a long time. She finally gives in and they start an aquarium, which definitely poses some trouble for them. They’re in luck though, because the owners of the local aquarium store are a set of hunky identical twins who are more than willing to offer personal assistance.
Do you need a special setting to write in or do you have a ceremony to get you in the mood? What does it look like? I prefer to write at the computer though I often carry a notebook around so I can write whenever I feel the need (breaks at work, waiting for my kid at the dance studio, etc).
Describe your feelings when you learnt that your first book was accepted for publicationI was so excited! I could hardly believe it. I still can hardly believe it!
Has the release of your first book changed anything in your personal life? If so, what? It’s easier for me to hide out in the computer room and not have everyone bug me because my writing is now more than just a hobby – it’s a hobby that will generate some income. So hubby and the kids don’t kick up as big a stink when Mommy disappears for a while! I wish I could share the news with more people, but unfortunately, by day job would definitely NOT approve of me writing erotic romance, and I most certainly wouldn’t want my family knowing I know about some of these things!
Where do you find inspiration?Sometimes in the strangest places! Landing the Big Ones was loosely based around the difficulties we had setting up an aquarium over the summer (unfortunately, our store was not owned by hunky twins). Sometimes the ideas just pop into my head and sometimes I have to really work on an idea to flesh it out. The second book in the Hedon Falls series is my current WIP and I’m finding myself hitting a bit of a wall. Hopefully that will sort itself out!
Who is your favourite character and why?Serena from Landing the Big Ones. There’s a lot about her that is like me: the way she reacts in certain situations, the way she parents, and her love of coffee for example! But she’s also a very strong woman. She had to be to raise her son on her own and that’s something I admire.
A favourite line from one of your books“But as thoughts of the man from the store continued swirling through her head, she knew her vibrator would get a good workout tonight.”
Your favourite drink and food when writingCoffee, coffee, more coffee, and occasionally sugary snacks and sodas.
The nosy onesHow much of the real “you” is in your stories?
With Landing the Big Ones, the banter between Serena and her son is very much like my own relationship with my son. I modelled Sam’s personality after my kid.
Have you ever had a crush on a fictional character? Who was it?I feel really sad saying this but I totally love Edward Cullen! In my version of the story though, Bella ends up with Edward and Jacob together!
What’s the silliest error in a book you’ve submitted? When I first submitted Landing the Big Ones, I had changed the name of the main character for a variety of reasons. But in the synopsis I sent the publisher, I forgot to make the change. I realized the mistake the next day and sent in another email explaining the error but I still felt very stupid about it and figured there was no way I would get it published. So I was thankful to receive the acceptance letter a week later!
Who is your least favourite of the characters you’ve written? Why?I think Serena’s boss is my least favourite character at the moment. She’s not in the story a whole lot, but when she is, she’s the catalyst behind a chain reaction which nearly destroys Serena’s new relationship with the twins.
The steamiest scene from your booksWell, the first really steamy scene happens when Serena is actually considering the possibility of a ménage. She’s a little confused about the…logistics, of making love with two men at once and decides to do a little research. That leads to a hot solo scene for her, but later, she tells the men about it and offers to demonstrate for them, which leads to a hot scene for the three of them.
Favourite comfort food?Cheesecake
A person you admireMy sister. I wish I could go into the story a little more, but let’s just say that her first husband was an asshole, and after he left, she had to work her ass off to support herself and her kids. She ended up going back to school to get her degree and recently graduated, with honours, and a brand new job waiting. It took a lot of hard work and determination and I admire her perseverance.
If you could ask any person in the world one question of your choice, who would it be and what would you ask them?Wow. That’s actually a really tough question. I don’t think I have an answer to that, because there are many people I would love to ask many things.
The fast ones
Favourite colour? Blue
Favourite pet? MollyDog or cat? Cat
Coffee or tea? Coffee, duh!Quickie or candles? Candles
Hunky or chunky? HunkySuit & tie or jeans & boots? Jeans & boots
Walk in the park or chat over cocktails? Chat with lots of cocktails
Book Blurb(I would have loved to show off Michelle's pretty cover art, but Blogger is having issues and won't let me upload pictures, so please have a look at the book's page at www.bookstrand.com/landing-the-big-ones . Sorry! ~Sage)
When single mom Serena Keegan finally gives in to her son's pleas for a pet, they decide that fish are the perfect option for their apartment lifestyle. They quickly discover that they have a lot to learn about their aquatic friends. Thankfully, Dalton's Aquariums and More! is there to help. The owners, identical twins Lance and Liam Dalton, both find themselves attracted to her. They are eager to provide her with the assistance she needs, for the pets and for more...personal matters. Serena’s past experience with men has been less than stellar and she worries she and her son will end up hurt. Despite these fears, she finds herself falling for the sexy store owners, whose talents extend well beyond business. But Liam has a past he hasn't told her about and when Serena finds out, it threatens their growing love.

VIP release: Sub-Culture
With the year drawing to an end, I'm celebrating with a brand new release: Sub-Culture, the sequel to my first-ever novel Sub-Mission is out on TEB's VIP release today. It follows up on Noah and Pierce's story and well, what can I say? Five years later, these two are still an amazing couple and the sex between them is hotter than ever. But best see for yourself...
When life gets on top, delving into a sub-culture may be just what it takes to keep a sinking relationship afloat
Five years after the bumpy start to their relationship, Noah and Pierce have settled well into their lives as a happy couple. The arrival of a new child should have made their matrimonial bliss complete, but the strain of raising a baby and a teenager, combined with a lot of pressure in their jobs, is beginning to take its toll. In the midst of what already is a potentially explosive situation, Noah’s younger brother Jonah comes to stay with them, forcing Noah to face the issues he still has regarding his homophobic parents and adding to the emotional pressure he is under. When Noah starts behaving oddly and Pierce just can’t seem to put his jealousy to rest, the cracks in their relationship become too severe to ignore any longer. They struggle to keep their sinking love afloat but as Noah craves the comfort a certain sub-culture can offer, Pierce finds himself wondering just how far he is willing to step out of his own comfort zone to save their love.

Story excerpt
“You have got to stop that!” Julian yelled over the noise of a coffee mug shattering on the tiled floor.
“Stop what?”
“Sneaking up on me like that! You’re like a cat!”
“I wasn’t sneaking up on you,” the newly-arrived pointed out with an innocent expression. “Just coming in to grab a coffee.”
“Here, take this one.” Julian handed him the second cup that still sat on the counter. “I was just about to bring it to you anyway.”
“Oh, that’s so sweet of you. You’re spoiling me.”
“I know. Don’t get used to it,” Julian grumbled and, crouching on the floor, he carefully picked up the pieces of shattered earthenware. Before he realized it, his companion was at his side, wiping up the spilled coffee with a cloth.
“Thanks,” he said quietly.
“It’s okay. At least the others can’t see us now.” Strong fingers were curled around the nape of Julian’s neck, pulling him in for a quick but nonetheless pleasurable kiss.
Julian let out a deep sigh when he was released and got to his feet again. “We really shouldn’t be doing this.”
“Why not?” Romeo grinned mischievously. “Does smooching in the coffee kitchen mess with your concentration?”
“No.” Julian returned the smile. “Well, a bit maybe, but I’m more worried about someone walking in on us one of these days.”
“So what? You said yourself that the FBI doesn’t care.”
“It doesn’t. At least not about the sexual orientation of its agents as such, but affairs among members of staff, especially of those who work in the same division, are still frowned upon.”
Romeo chuckled. “Oh, Jules. You’re so hot when you quote federal regulations. It makes me want to rip off your clothes and drop to my knees to—”
“Don’t you dare finish that sentence!” Julian warned.
Romeo’s grin widened. “To worship you and the ground you walk on,” he finished smoothly. “Besides, technically I’m not a member of staff anyway. I’m just a consultant, remember?”“Oh, I remember.” Julian remembered indeed. How could he forget? After spending the best part of three years chasing after an excellent art thief, he had finally succeeded in catching him and then spent a night with him neither of them had been able to forget.
Another year later, they had met again and the course of events had brought them even closer together. In a twisted turn of fate, Romeo had been recruited by the FBI as Julian’s consultant in his Division for Art-Related Crimes. Ironically, he had formally started his new job on Christmas Eve—the very day they had met one year earlier. Now, two weeks into their working relationship, they had yet to come across a case that required Romeo’s talents while spending some of the time outside of the office exploring each other’s talents.
They had enjoyed a few pleasurable hours during the holidays together, both relieved that their status as hunter and quarry was at last annulled. However, Romeo’s true identity, and his reasons for working with the FBI all of a sudden, remained a secret to Julian. Even the name—Romeo—was the nickname Julian himself had assigned to the felon he had been chasing after. His consultant was officially going by the name Paris Moore, but Julian knew that it was just another alias in a long list of fake identities. He didn’t like the name, didn’t care much for either in fact, but the nickname, Romeo, could at least be considered…well, a nickname. The other name was just an alias. A stranger.
Julian had made himself promise not to address the matter of Romeo’s real name anymore. Maybe one day he’d learn the truth about him, but until then, he had to accept that his consultant—and his lover—was full of secrets. In fact, he felt that, so far, he’d only just scratched the surface of what Romeo was capable of. As a thief, Romeo had scored some amazing coups and he was doubtlessly able to do more, but he had chosen to specialize in retrieving and returning items that had been taken from their rightful owners.
As a lover, Romeo was skilled, generous, and passionate, and he’d already admitted to having fallen in love with Julian, but he kept his distance, and Julian knew better than to expect a deeply romantic relationship from him. Romeo came and went as he pleased, much like a cat, and just like a cat, he was smoochy and affectionate when he wanted to be, but there was little doubt that he would reveal his claws readily enough when crowded.
“Is it nice where you are, baby?” Julian was yanked back to the present by Romeo’s soft, slightly amused voice. Caught off guard, Julian made a face and shook his head. “Just thinking about something.”
“Mmm. I hope it has to do with what you’re planning to do to me tonight.”
“Does that mean you’re going to pop by?”
“If you’ll have me.”
“Of course.”
“Want me to pick up dinner on the way?”
“Okay. Chinese?”
“If you want. What—”
The appearance of Barnes, one of the junior agents assigned to Julian’s division, put an end to their careless, homely banter. He poked his head around the doorframe, wearing a slight frown on his face. “Sir? Chief Baxter wants to see you.”
“Thank you. I’ll be right there,” Julian replied and dumped the last of the shards in the garbage.
Casting a glance at Romeo, Barnes added, “Both of you.”

Romeo didn’t seem in the least surprised at finding Julian outside on the patio. He lingered in the doorway for a moment, wine glass in hand, shoulder leaning against the doorframe, cool-blue eyes resting on Julian.
As usual, Julian had failed to even hear him enter but at least he no longer jumped out of his skin at
Romeo’s sudden appearances in his house.
“Hi there,” he greeted.
“Hi back,” Romeo said with a tender smile. Raising his other hand, he held out a plastic bag. “I brought you dinner.”
“Dinner can wait. C’mere.”
Obliging, Romeo crossed the wooden deck to where Julian sat, moving as gracefully as if he was dancing, just like he always did. This time it was a slow, sensual number.
“You were good today,” Julian said, watching him. “Baxter’s bound to be well pleased with you. We interrogated the museum director, told him point-blank what you suspected, and he confessed. Told us everything.”
“That’s good then, isn’t it?”
“Of course it is. Although the speed at which you solved that case doesn’t cast the best of lights on my division’s work so far.”“Ah, Jules. I was just lucky.” Romeo shot him a playful wink and set his wine glass on the table, along with the bag.
“Lucky my ass,” Julian grumbled, but it was a friendly grumble. Affectionate. Damn, but Romeo was gorgeous in his suit pants and shirt, with the sleeves rolled up to reveal his lean, muscular forearms and the top buttons of his shirt undone and the tie discarded. It was a tempting sight. “I should give you a spanking for humbling me like that.”
“Ooh, baby,” Romeo cooed and lowered himself to sit on Julian’s lap, straddling his thighs, hands resting lightly on Julian’s shoulders. “I knew you like handcuffs, but I didn’t know you were that
kinky.”
“I’m not.” Julian shrugged and, wrapping his arms around Romeo’s slender hips, pulled him closer. “Doesn’t mean you don’t deserve it, though.”
“Hmm. Well, if you really want to punish me, there is one kind of pounding I wouldn’t mind you giving my ass.”
Julian’s breath got caught on its way out. “You’ve got an awfully dirty mouth, sweetheart.”
“You can lick it clean if it bothers you,” Romeo whispered huskily as he lowered his head. As always, the first touch of lips was enough to send sparks through Julian’s body. Although not quite intent to do what Romeo had suggested, Julian dipped his tongue into the sweet, welcoming warmth
of his lover’s mouth. Romeo’s own taste had already become so wonderfully familiar, but Julian didn’t tire of exploring it over and over again, discovering all the faint flavors the day had left on him. Today a hint of nicotine had sneaked in to mingle with the usual taste of coffee and mints. Romeo had told him that he didn’t usually smoke unless he was in the company of others who did or it was in the small hours and he was still awake. He didn’t sleep much at night anyway, managing well on no more than four to five hours whereas Julian barely functioned at all if he didn’t get at least a full seven.
Pushing the thoughts of Romeo’s nicotine and late night habits from his mind, Julian instead concentrated on the feel of the hard muscled body in his arms. He still was surprised at times at just how strong Romeo was. His lean build and graceful moves made it easy to underestimate him physically.
Snatching a precious second from their kiss, Julian murmured “Let’s go inside.”
“Nn-nn,” Romeo objected with a throaty purr. “Here.”
Julian leaned back a few inches. “Huh?”
“Here, outside. Fuck me across the table.”
“Please tell me you’re kidding.” Julian groaned but the idea was appealing. The patio, though small, was shielded from view, so there was little risk of giving a curious neighbor an unintended eyeful.
“Nope.” No, Romeo wasn’t kidding. Instead he was getting undressed, shimmying out of his suit pants while undoing the rest of his shirt buttons single-handedly.
“Fucking tease.” Although Julian shoved him back against the table quite roughly, Romeo managed to turn the momentum into an elegant half-spin, flashing a mischievous grin over his shoulder as he bent over the table. Julian didn’t waste any more time. He undid his own fly and pushed his pants down just enough to get them out of the way, grateful for their newly introduced habit of always carrying condoms and a few sample sachets of lube around.
He ripped open the first of the small packages and poured its slippery content on his fingers, and then he parted those firm, round ass cheeks to reveal that hidden spot. Romeo let out a soft moan when Julian applied the jelly, rubbing it into his skin and teasing the tightly sealed entrance with his fingertip.
