Tuesday Teaser: Jennifer Wright

Hi all,
Today's Tuesday Teaser is a lovely fellow author who has realised what she wants her career to be when the muse found her singing under the shower. She juggles a cat in her lap while writing and gets comfy with Gummy Bears.Ladies & Gentlemen, please give a warm welcome to Jennifer Wright!

The business ones
Please give us a short introduction about yourselfHi, Sage, thank you for having me as a guest. My name is Jennifer Wright and I am a new author. My first book, Pavarus: Finding Home Series book 1, was just published November of 2012 and my second book of the series, Morvea , is now up for pre-order. I’ve only been writing for the past few years and I’ve never been happier. I spent my whole life wondering what I wanted my career to be – now I know. :)What genre(s) do you write in and why?I write M/M, M/F, contemporary, paranormal, vampire, shifter, cowboy/western, light BDSM, and futuristic erotic romance. I know it’s a lot, but I love all genres of romance. My mind holds no limits to the stories it creates.
Tell us about your latest release Morvea is the second book of my Finding Home Series. It is Keddrick and Eli’s story. Originally I never planned on a story for these two guys, but they wormed their way into my head as I was finishing up book 1 and demanded I tell their tale.
Do you need a special setting to write in or do you have a ceremony to get you in the mood? What does it look like?My muse surges as I’m blasting my music in the shower – which I’ve come to find out this happens to a lot of authors. After my shower, I rush to get ready then head straight to my office - to my sanctuary. I have to have a fresh drink, my laptop, and absolute silence. I plop down in my big comfy office chair, wait impatiently as the cat takes forever to settle in my lap (I swear, if he moved any slower he’d be going backwards), and then I let my fingers fly over the keyboard as the story pours from my mind.
Describe your feelings when you learnt that your first book was accepted for publicationTo sum it up – shock, shouts of happiness, tears of pure joy, and then more shouts of happiness. :)
Has the release of your first book changed anything in your personal life? If so, what?Nothing dramatic has happened. The most I can say is I’ve gotten a lot of praise from my family. Otherwise it is as it’s always been.
Where do you find inspiration?Music – definitely music. If I have an idea for a story, or a scene in mind, all I have to do is listen to music and the details just come rolling in.
Who is your favourite character and why?I honestly don’t think I have a favourite character – I love them all equally. :)
A favourite line from one of your booksOMG, I’ve never thought about that before! Ooh, this one’s a toughie. I’m really torn between two. From Pavarus Shadows danced along his skin from the light from the hearth, tempting Remus. He wanted to reach out and trail his fingers along the curve of Wesley’s neck, but he restrained himself. He had a feeling Wesley wouldn’t react too well to intimate touches like that, from him. Remus settled for just watching his little mate, wishing he was the light that was warming his skin.
From MorveaThe two brilliantly bright moons shone down, their light dancing across his skin. They were low on the horizon, ready to retire and let the sun rule the sky.Okay, so they may nYour favourite drink and food when writingI don’t eat when I write, but I have to have a Coca-Cola or 7-Up soda with me.

The nosy ones
How much of the real “you” is in your stories?None. Someday I have a feeling I’m going to write a story where one of the main characters more-or-less ‘reflects’ me, but it has yet to happen. Otherwise, no people, situations, or storylines are based off of my real life.
Have you ever had a crush on a fictional character? Who was it?Hah! I love this question! Um, I’ve never had a crush on any of my own characters, but I’d definitely have to say I have a crush on Qhuinn from J.R. Ward’s Black Dagger Brotherhood Series. He’s everything – a bad-ass, a smart-ass, a cute-ass, sensitive, caring, loyal, and so much more!
What’s the silliest error in a book you’ve submitted?Hmm, I really can’t think of any that were silly. I will say, though, that when I was doing edits for Morvea , I was reading a highlighted section from my editor, and before I even read her comment I was already laughing at how corny my sentence was. There wasn’t anything technically wrong with it, but it had to be one of the stupidest things I’ve ever written. So funny to me that I think I’ll share it with you all.Quick note of the scene: it’s taking place in a sex scene – Keddrick is about to “enter” Eli, and Keddrick says…“Don’t worry, love, I’ve got something else to fill you up.”I think by this point I was slipping into delirium form the grinding hours of editing, so this was exceptionally funny to me.
Who is your least favourite of the characters you’ve written? Why?Most would probably guess that it is the main bad guy of the series, Gravaick, but I actually dislike Gravaick’s second in command, Flagos, even less. Flagos just flat out disgusts me and I hated writing him, but it was needed. He’s not in Morvea , so I got a small break from him, but he’s in the rest of the series.
The steamiest scene from your booksOoh, this one’s in Morvea – I don’t want to say too much and give it away, but I will say it’s between Keddrick and Eli and involves a wall and then an office couch. The roughness, the hurriedness, the love…ahh, it was amazing.
Favourite comfort food? This one’s easy - Gummy Bears.
A person you admireMy mind goes straight to author J.L. Langley. She is by far my favourite author. Her work is outstanding – there isn’t a single book of hers that I don’t like.
If you could ask any person in the world one question of your choice, who would it be and what would you ask them?I spent an entire night trying to think of an answer for this one, but I honestly can’t think of anything.

The fast ones
Favourite colour? Purple
Favourite pet? Ah-ah-ah, I refuse to play favorites with my pets.
Dog or cat? Cat  Coffee or tea?  Neither
Quickie or candles? Quickie *blushes* This way you can have more of them throughout the day. :)
Hunky or chunky? Hunky
Suit & tie or jeans & boots? Jeans and boots

Here's Jen's fabulous new book, Morvea , one of my must-reads this year:
Keddrick has denied claiming his mate for four years, separating them by worlds just to keep the man he loves safe…from him. Can he resist temptation when his love lands on his doorstep in need of help? Eli has lusted after Keddrick from the moment the vampire stepped through the portal and into Earth. He had desperately wanted to follow along when Keddrick returned to Pavarus, but it wasn’t allowed—not to mention Eli was under the impression that Keddrick was straight. Four years later his wish has come true, but not in the way he wanted. Barely escaping death by the hands of Wayland, head of the human council on Earth, Eli flees to Pavarus in search of help. The line of events that get him there release a hidden secret deep inside him he never knew existed, and will soon change his life forever.Keddrick’s restraint towards Eli is being seriously tested, and every day Eli stays with him at the coven, it gets harder. He wants to keep his distance, but at the same time he wants to do everything he can to please Eli. As time goes on, he feels his resolve slowly crumble, his love for the man too strong to ignore. When Keddrick finds out about Wayland’s threat on his and Eli’s life, he is determined to stop the madman anyway he can, even if that means going against Eli’s pleas for him not to.Through blood and tears, years of love and moments of betrayal, can these two men find their way through the hardships and into a life of happiness in each other’s arms?Buy link: Morvea is up for Pre-Order at a 15% discount at Total-E-Bound.http://www.total-e-bound.com/product.asp?strParents=&CAT_ID=&P_ID=2017

About Jennifer Wright:
I was born in Arizona, but have spent the better part of my life in Wisconsin.  While I enjoy living close to my family, my heart longs to live in the South – or anywhere where the winters are warmer, and I hope to someday get there.  I love writing, and try to dedicate as much of my free time to it (ha! what free time?).  If I’m not typing away on my laptop, you’ll find me with my nose buried in a book, or with my loving boyfriend debating on what movie to watch and the never ending back and forth decision of what we should have for dinner.  I love spending time with my family and boyfriend, cuddling with my two cats, and laughing as much as possible (cuz I like to think I'm funny J).Some little tidbits about me are – I love horses and cats, I have a really big sweet-tooth, and I've been told I like to talk with my hands (insert hand gestures here).

Cover Art Reveal - Shifting Changes

Hi all,

You've probably already heard that I'm currently involved in the exciting adventure called self-publishing. The book in question is titled Shifting Changes. It's a paranormal erotic romance story and, according to my readers' wishes, my usual MM pairing gets a bit of extra spice in the shape of some steamy MF elements. Oh, and there are shifters, which is a first for me. One of those shifters, Shayonn, is a white tiger when in animal form and he is the one I based the cover art on.
Because today is such a happy day for me and good things for me always mean good things for my dear readers and friends, I'm going to give away one copy of Shifting Changes in e-book format to one lucky person who leaves a comment on this post (please remember to include a valid email address / further terms and conditions apply, please click here). The contest closes when I upload Shifting Changes to Amazon. I will of course post a notification when I hit that button, which might happen at some point this week, so the sooner you enter, the better.
But enough talking, it's time for me to take a deep breath and reveal the cover for Shifting Changes. You're very welcome to leave me a comment and tell me what you think. As this is such a reader-oriented project, I'd love to have you guys involved as much as possible.

Special Guest: Bebe Balocca

Hi all,
I have a special guest for you on this beautiful Sunday. She likes her snacks healthy, spends a lot of her time writing and has found the exact location of the G-spot with the help of an editor.
Ladies and Gentlemen, please give a warm welcome to
Bebe Balocca!

The business ones

Please give us a short introduction about yourself

I started my journey writing romance years ago, but got serious about it a year ago. I began writing to specific publishers’ guidelines and polishing up my manuscripts for submission. By early summer, I’ll have seven novels/novellas out with Total-E-Bound and Ellora’s Cave, and I’m still writing, of course. Under a different name, I write culture and parenting articles, and I also write and edit for an educational publisher.

What genre(s) do you write in and why?

Erotic romance. I have pieces that are paranormal and that have lots of humor, but you’ll find a high heat level in all of them.

Tell us about your latest release
Bubbles and Troubles, Book One of my Prescott Woods series, is a contemporary story that is set in the fictional new-age village of Charade, Kentucky and the bordering woods. Of course, there are loads of hot erotic scenes, but Bubbles has some great humor as well. I had a blast writing it.

Do you need a special setting to write in or do you have a ceremony to get you in the mood? What does it look like?

I am super fortunate in that my husband supported my desire to convert our attic into my office. It’s quiet and decorated just how I like it (warm colors and natural materials) and I even have a bed up here for naps. My miniature dachshund, Scarlett, gets cozy in her chair next to me as I settle in to write.

Describe your feelings when you learnt that your first book was accepted for publication

I was elated! It’s been a lifelong dream to write fiction and get it published. I was completely thrilled.

Has the release of your first book changed anything in your personal life? If so, what?

Well, writing erotica is, um, an exciting occupation… It’s nothing but good for one’s love life, as my adoring husband can attest.

Where do you find inspiration?

I tend to think up hot little scenes and then concoct the stories and characters to go with them and bring them to life.

Who is your favourite character and why?

Gosh, that’s a tough one. Right now, with Bubbles and Troubles on the brain, I love Carmen. She’s smart and independent, and not afraid to stand up for what she believes in. And she has lots of fun with Brock, too.

A favourite line from one of your books

From A Ghost on Two Wheels: Fleetingly, I think how ironic it is that I have two versions of my lover in the room with me and neither one is technically alive…

Your favourite drink and food when writing

I drink loads of herbal tea while writing, and I love to have baby carrots and apples to crunch on as well.

The nosy ones

How much of the real “you” is in your stories?

I can imagine myself and my reactions in all the scenarios my characters encounter, but there’s certainly a lot of fiction in there, too.

Have you ever had a crush on a fictional character? Who was it?

Well, my girl crushes were on Scarlett O’Hara and Erica Kane (of the soap “All My Children”) as I was growing up. I thought they were the embodiments of feminine power and beauty. My boy crush, of course, was Rhett Butler. Poor silly Scarlett, realizing how awesome he was when it was too late.

What’s the silliest error in a book you’ve submitted?

The anatomical ones are pretty embarrassing. For example, I didn’t know exactly where the G-spot was (though I THOUGHT I did) but thankfully my editor pointed that error out for me.

The steamiest scene from your books

I really love the hot tub/mud bath scene from Bubbles and Troubles . It combines the decadent fabulousness of a spa visit with hot sex, and there are some dreamy elements in there as well.

Favourite comfort food?

Tomato soup with loads of oregano and a grilled cheese sandwich

A person you admire

I admire people who have been through pain and made mistakes, who own up to their flaws and keep striving to improve themselves and to make the world a better place. I admire survivors who manage to remain positive, at least part of the time, and I am always inspired by their stories.

The fast ones

Favourite colour?

Wine red

Favourite pet?

My dappled black-and-tan miniature dachshund, Scarlett

Dog or cat?

Dog

Coffee or tea?

Both

Quickie or candles?

Both, please!

Hunky or chunky?

Hunky

Suit & tie or jeans & boots?

Nope, can’t choose here either – though my hot hubby wears cowboy boots with his suit and totally rocks it.

Walk in the park or chat over cocktails?

Walks are lovely, but I’ll take the chat over cocktails most days.

Author bio:

I live in a teeny-tiny town in the southeastern United States, surrounded by rolling hills and lots of cows. My house is brimming with my rowdy sons, hot husband, and more pets than I can shake a stick at. When I close my eyes, though, I’m in a white stucco villa on the Mediterranean, sipping a martini and watching the turquoise waves crash at my feet. Next to my hot husband, naturally.
I love to read and write erotic romance, fantasy, and sci-fi because of the escape factor: I want to leave the ordinary and travel somewhere exotic, unusual, and sexually-charged in a book. My characters are thrust into unpredictable situations, and they respond with humor, open-mindedness, and loads of scorching passion. I hope you enjoy escaping with me into the sultry world of erotic romance.

Drakka

Lumos stretched on the soft sheet, the delectable taste of Lucinda lingered on his tongue. He licked his bottom lip. The heavy scent of feminine arousal caused his cock to fill, igniting an urgency to take her again. Gods, of late, no female satisfied him for long. Tomorrow I will invite those sweet things visiting from Draconia to my bed. He smiled into the darkness, enjoying the languid weightlessness from a night of indulgent sex. Under his palm, the female’s belly quivered at his touch, the Faerie’s peach-fuzz skin an erotic delight. Raised up on one elbow, he gazed at Lucinda. Moonlight bathed her body, turning her sweat-soaked skin into the finest alabaster. The Faerie held her lips in a swollen pout. Her long, platinum hair stuck to her cheeks, and spilled down her back to curl around her heart-shaped bottom. Lumos skimmed a path to Lucinda’s pert breast and fondled the Faerie’s rosy nipple.
I am insatiable. Gods, he had enjoyed the pleasure of three Faeries this eve before Lucinda had demanded his undivided attention. All had come to his bed to ease the worry of the upcoming battle—the Nightdragon would soon have to defend the kingdom of Drakka with a fight to the death.

He bent to suckle the cherry tip. I have over six months and many sweet Faeries to bed before I meet Kird. The dragon inside him stirred. The connection boomed in Lumos’ mind. The voice of the Nightdragon disturbed his thoughts.
'Lumos, put aside your lust and listen.'
Lumos lifted his head. No sound echoed through the stillness of the palace. 'Listen to what? Go back to sleep, I’ll not have you disturb my rest.'

'We are not asleep.' The Nightdragon pushed harder against Lumos’ consciousness. 'Do you think I sleep while you indulge your lust? In truth, I find it quite intoxicating, although I do not experience any pleasure.' The dragon chuckled. 'Now I have your attention, do listen. Can you not hear the melody carried from afar?'

With a grunt, Lumos turned his head and caught a lilting song as if carried on the breeze, yet no wind brushed his face. The voice, female, alluring, curled around Lumos’ heart in a lover’s embrace. Flames of wicked, sensual delight licked up the inside of his thighs to caress his balls. Gods, what is happening to me? Gasping, he sat on the edge of the bed. His mind filled with a sweet gentle voice.

'Dragon of the moon, I see your shadow as you search the night.
Come to me, with skin of darkness, eye of green.
Take me—honour me, for I am yours.
I beg you, Nightdragon, save me from my plight.'

The dragon inside him roared. Smoke poured from Lumos’ nostrils. He slid from the bed and strolled to the balcony. The hint of a breeze cooled his heated skin. Turning his head to catch the melodic tones of an angel, he gazed far into the distance. 'What is that? The song befuddles my brain, yet is strangely compelling. Gods, I think I’m dying of pleasure.'

Far in the distance, the female’s voice continued to seduce him with deep longing. A desire like no other compelled him to rush to her side.

'Lust consumes me. What is this song, dragon?'

'It is the Dragonsong. Fly, Lumos, set me free.'

Lumos unfurled his wings, confused by his dragon’s request. 'The Dragonsong is a myth, some trick to lure us from Drakka.'

'No, Lumos, this is no falsehood. Our mate calls to us, and every second we waste arguing, her song drifts out of reach. If I take to the sky, I may be able to determine which direction to take.' The Nightdragon brushed against Lumos' mind. 'Fly now.''I think you are mistaken but I will do as you wish.' Urgency, anticipation and joy shimmered through Lumos from his dragon. He took a deep breath and leapt into the air. The song replayed, dancing on the breeze. His heart clenched with recognition. Somewhere deep inside a connection formed and a name slammed hard into his mind. Thalia.
How could a simple song cause such a reaction? His inner dragon acted on instinct and Lumos relied on the beast’s judgement. He opened his wings, moving swiftly away from the palace. Heat burned his flesh. The dragon clawed at his mind.

'Set me free.'

In a burst of white magyck, the Nightdragon exploded into the darkness and soared into the sky. With a flap of black velvet wings, the demanding beast circled the kingdom of Drakka. The Nightdragon’s ears strained, twisting this way and that, to pick up the direction of the song. The beast’s roars of frustration echoed through the empty streets. Lumos stared down at the rows of houses. His people lived in trepidation of the coming challenge.

Have no fear, good people of Drakka, I will give my life to protect you.

Through his dragon’s sight, Lumos watched as if he was a visitor in this massive body. Everything appeared smaller from such a distance. Indeed, the palace resembled a child’s toy. The dragon distinguished all things living by auras of different colours. The display of brilliant hues lit the Drakkan nightscape with a rainbow of life.

The Nightdragon accelerated, leaving the city far behind. He searched in a wide arc for the origin of the elusive song. Exhilarated with the power of his alter ego, Lumos wanted to stay in dragon form forever. The strength of the dragon surged through him, all earthly bounds dropped away, and he became one with the Nightdragon in the search for their mate.

The song faded, the last strains hanging for a moment of bliss in the night air. Defeated, the dragon rose through the clouds to pay homage to the moon. With air filling his massive wings, the Nightdragon glided down to perch on the highest peak. As the beast scrambled for purchase, his curved talons ripped at the rock face, dislodging boulders. The ensuing landslide thundered down the mountainside, crashing into the valley below and sending up great plumes of dust. The Nightdragon opened his massive maw and roared in anguish. White-hot flames poured from his snout and blasted the rock face, melting the granite into a shimmer of white crystal. The Nightdragon’s distress rippled through Lumos.

'I have failed to find the origin of the song.' 'Then it is the gods’ will. Cymbeline will guide us to our mate when the time is right.' Lumos had not intended to take a mate, not yet. Indeed, he enjoyed the company of as many Faeries as he chose. Drakka would surely fall if he fell beneath a mate’s spell before the challenge. Gods, he had no time for such things. 'I admit the song intrigued me, yet as it faded, so did the desire.'
'Our mate’s song travelled from far beyond the reaches of our realm and yet her voice consumed you with sexual euphoria. No female will satisfy you now.' The Nightdragon lifted his head to gaze into the endless sky. 'The goddess gives us but one mate, Lumos.'

With a snort, Lumos languished in the memory of his night of passion. Although much to his chagrin, the Dragonsong had filled him with erotic delight. What if the dragon spoke the truth and, after this night, he would have no desire for another female?

Special Guest: Kameron Brook

Hi all,

Today's special guest is Kameron Brook, who frequently joins up with her partner Dirk out of the bedroom to bring the friction they create in the bedroom to paper - and boy, that's some hot stuff they're doing!
But before you rush off to get your hands on their naughty stories, have a look at my interview with the lady herself - enjoy :)

The business ones

Please give us a short introduction about yourself I’m just a small town girl who happens to love being naughty and writing about the naughty things I do or encounter in my life. After my first release, “Girls’ Night Out”, and Dirk’s first, “Voyeur”, we decided to join forces and write together. It seemed only fitting because we brainstorm together, share MS and we do love researching together too. Yes, I have a good life. J

What genre(s) do you write in and why?
We write erotica – gay, lesbian, bi, ménage, and straight Tell us about your latest release
“Welcome to the Neighborhood” is a collaboration between Dirk and myself.

Blurb: Whit and Miguel are happy together, but when Meaghan moves in next door they decide they'd like to add a third to their household.

Do you need a special setting to write in or do you have a ceremony to get you in the mood? What does it look like?
I curl up on the sectional with Dirk’s robe and turn on some comedy show. Lately, it’s been Friends or Roseanne.

Describe your feelings when you learnt that your first book was accepted for publication
Totally shocked. No matter how much I write, I’m still amazed that someone likes it.

Has the release of your first book changed anything in your personal life? If so, what?
Nope. We shagged like bunnies before and still do. I take that back, we are researching more.

Where do you find inspiration?
Ideas come to me when I can’t sleep at night. Dirk loves to dirty talk so as he paints me an erotic image, I wonder how we can use it.

Who is your favourite character and why?
Emily from “Girls’ Night Out” because I happen to love doing yoga.

A favourite line from one of your books
I think all the comedic lines in our stories are my favorite. I’d list them but I’d rather you by the stories and find them yourself. (winks)

Your favourite drink and food when writing
Diet Mountain Dew/ popcorn

The nosy ones

How much of the real “you” is in your stories?
Every story has a section (big or small) that has occurred to either Dirk or myself.

Have you ever had a crush on a fictional character? Who was it?
I don’t crush on my characters but I am currently crushing on Ryodan from “Iced” – Karen Marie Moning

What’s the silliest error in a book you’ve submitted?
None actually come to mind but I’m sure there will be some in the future.

Who is your least favourite of the characters you’ve written? Why?
I can’t say that I have one. I figure if I don’t love them all equally, then I need to fix it (them).

The steamiest scene from your books
I can’t select just one so I will tell you one from each story.

Theatre scene - “Girls’ Night Out”.
Kitchen table scene - “New Beginnings”.
Office scene between – “Welcome to the Neighborhood”
Shower scene – “Voyeur”

Favourite comfort food?

Favourite pet?

Lights dimmed

Hunky or chunky?
I like meat on my lover’s bones. Male or female!

Suit & tie or jeans & boots?
Jeans and boats

Walk in the park or chat over cocktails?

Author bio:Kameron and Dirk, a passionate couple in and out of the bedroom, has decided to join forces and bring their erotic imagination to life with words. Their solo stories are electric; however, the works they create together will practically sizzle off the page. Yes, they might live in a quiet suburb neighborhood, but they’re anything but tame and unadventurous. A fact you shall read and learn about soon enough.

Taking a New Direction

Hi all,

Yes, I know you've been expecting the usual Tuesday Teaser in this place and I'm sorry to disappoint you - well, no, actually, I'm not, because I have something far better instead.
Ladies and Gentlemen, I have an announcement to make.
I've published the amazing number of fifteen books since last May, with another two contracted and scheduled for release in March and June 2013 respectively. All of those books were or will be published through Total-E-Bound and Siren-BookStrand. Both are fantastic publishing houses to work with and I'm very lucky that they consider my work worth their while, but at the end of the day, they have fixed schedules and I have to fit into those. Now, most people who know me know that Sage doesn't do patience well, so you can probably guess what's coming:
I'm going to be my own publisher.
This step will mean a lot of extra blood, sweat and tears for me, but it also gives me more control over my work and allows me to release my stories at a faster pace (Yeah, good one, isn't it?) and with higher flexibility. I will continue to release some of my books through my publishers, above all the sequels to the books already out, but if this road works for me, then I'll keep walking it. Big thanks to my wonderful friends and fellow authors Harper Fox and Clair de Lune, my sounding boards on the way to making this decision, who have provided me with heaps of helpful information, encouragement and kind words.
Now, to the story I have in mind for this project: It is titled Shifting Changes, which again seems oddly appropriate seeing as I wrote it without any intention of it marking the beginning of a new era. But even so, this story is a special one, which to me makes it perfect for this endeavour. During the past couple of weeks I've been frequently asked to write a story that includes some sexy shifters and a heroine to keep my boys occupied. Both story elements are firsts for me, but I'm very happy to indulge my readers and friends. The book is written, so all it takes is final editing, cover art and oh, right, publishing.
I'm afraid I can't really give a concrete time frame for this as it's all new to me and a lot to consider and learn, but I'm hoping to get this baby out for you before the next book in the Romeo & Julian series is due (March 2nd). I'll keep you updated, so watch this space!

General Release Day: Sub-Culture

Hi all,
Today is the big day for Noah and Pierce. Sub-Culture goes on general release, which means it becomes available from the big distributors like Amazon today. What better time to tell you a bit about the story behind the book.
After seeing several couples and a triad on their way to happy endings, I've grown used to all kinds of behaviour from my characters. Some are the quiet kind, some are very noisy, some can't wait to tell me their story, some require a bit of coaxing. I love exploring their quirky personalities and letting them take me on the exciting journeys of their lives. I love it when they just enter my head and grab a hold of my mind until their stories are told. Just when I thought I knew how it works, I was in for a surprise.
When I finished writing my debut novel Sub-Mission, I already knew there would be a follow-up which tells Francis' story. I wrote Re-Submission a few weeks later. When I finished Re-Submission, I knew there would be a follow-up on Tyler's story. I started writing that but then I got sidetracked. Well, not sidetracked so much as taken hostage. Another character entered my head, another idea and I started writing the story of Jonah, Noah's brother. No, wait! Jonah isn't the one who took me hostage, so don't blame him. Well, he did, technically, but before he could make me write even a single sentence about him, his big brother Noah stepped in along with his husband Pierce, and those two grabbed the story along with my mind and ran with it.
There was no hope for resistance. I just had to write them a sequel. At least they were kind enough to deliver the plot willingly. Very willingly, and oh, what a plot. I squirmed and cried and asked them if they were serious so many times. They took me through all the ups and downs of a long-term relationship, through the wear of raising a baby and the tear of mistrust, misunderstanding and jealousy. I cried for them and with them. I loved them for their devotion and hated them for their blindness and stupidity. They told me a story I hadn't expected in many ways and put me through quite an ordeal but it was well worth it.
I'm sorry, Jonah. You will get your story, promise. I just hope Noah and Pierce won't step in again and do their thing with it. Or maybe I wish they did...

Sub-Culture MM erotic romance / BDSM / contemporary, novel (sequel to Sub-Mission)Published by Total-E-BoundHeat rating: Total-e-melting

When life gets on top, delving into a sub-culture may be just what it takes to keep a sinking relationship afloat
Five years after the bumpy start to their relationship, Noah and Pierce have settled well into their lives as a happy couple. The arrival of a new child should have made their matrimonial bliss complete, but the strain of raising a baby and a teenager, combined with a lot of pressure in their jobs, is beginning to take its toll. In the midst of what already is a potentially explosive situation, Noah’s younger brother Jonah comes to stay with them, forcing Noah to face the issues he still has regarding his homophobic parents and adding to the emotional pressure he is under. When Noah starts behaving oddly and Pierce just can’t seem to put his jealousy to rest, the cracks in their relationship become too severe to ignore any longer. They struggle to keep their sinking love afloat but as Noah craves the comfort a certain sub-culture can offer, Pierce finds himself wondering just how far he is willing to step out of his own comfort zone to save their love.

Sage is Out: Sunday at MA Church's Blog

Hi all,

My lovely author friend MA Church has kindly invited me over to her blog today. She wanted to hear a bit about the background to Re-Submission, so I started writing and well, you know me, I'm a chatty person so it turned out to be a rather lenghty story about the entire series - the characters, precisely.

Hop on over to MA's place and read about what it's like to work with a bunch of pushy fictitious characters. Here's your link http://machurch00.blogspot.de/2013/01...

Happy Sunday!
