V-Day Blog Hop: Shifting Changes
Hello and welcome,
Today I'm participating in the Valentine's Day blog hop hosted by ShapeShifterSeductions. If you've come here via the blog hop, thanks for stepping by and exploring my world! If you haven't, well, why not check out the other exciting stops? You'll find the link at the bottom of this page so you can hop over when you've finished here ;)
So, today is Valentine's Day. What's it all about? The obvious answer would be, it's a day to celebrate love. Well, yes, and just as there are different kinds of love, there are different ways to celebrate it. Valentine's Day is a perfect chance to give the people you care for a sign of appreciation. The gift you make can be something flashy or something simple, yet personal. Buy your sweetheart some flowers or maybe some chocolates. Something glittery to be worn, perhaps, depending on your income ;)
Personally, I like the small but thoughtful presents best. There's nothing like a gift that is tailor-made for the one who receives it, don't you think?
As an author, the most important people to me are my readers and friends. Some of the readers who have contacted me during the last couple of months have become good friends by now. We've spent the odd hour or so chatting, most of the time on Facebook, and one thing became clear during all those conversations. My friends wanted me to write a story involving sexy shape shifters and some hot MF sex scenes. If you know me, you'll know that especially that last part was a bit of a challenge for me, but hey, nobody said it would be easy. So, to give my friends a sign of my appreciation, I wrote them the story they asked for. That story is also my latest release, titled Shifting Changes, and here it is:
Shifting ChangesParanormal (shape shifters) erotic romance, MM and MF / novella
Blurb
Fulfilling a duty could be so much fun…
Shayonn has been special his entire life. He is the future king of Atraya, a country filled with tiger shifters like him, but there is more to him. He is one of the few white tigers left and destined to save his rare breed from extinction. Finding the one female in a million that will allow him to fulfil his duty would be great—too bad that Shayonn prefers to share his bed with men. Faolan is a lone wolf in many ways. Alienated from his own kind because of his low pedigree, he leads a life at the border of his species, roaming the country and taking jobs where he can get them. Working as a guard for the tiger shifter community, he knows exactly what he has to do when he meets a stray one. Tarina has never been special. She’s just an ordinary woman, who enjoys her pleasures when she can get them. She also happens to be a shifter, but she’s just another plain brown tigress among many others—until one day, a gorgeous white male singles her out as the future mother of his babies. When those three get together in different pairings, their mutual attraction is immense, but there is that issue of finding the right mate for every one of them.
Reader advisory: This book contains sexually explicit scenes (MF and MM, including spanking and bondage) and is only suitable for adult readers.
Story Excerpt
Muttering colourful curses, Shayonn slammed his way into the cabin. The door was tiny, which in itself would have been a problem for his six foot four frame, but it made it almost impossible to drag the suitcase inside. Or maybe dragging the suitcase was bound to be difficult anyway because of its sheer weight and size. “My goodness, did you bring your entire wardrobe along?”The deep and not unpleasant voice made Shayonn jump in surprise. He dropped his suitcase. “Ouch!” Hopping up and down, he tried to rub his foot while looking around the minuscule chamber to find the speaker. When he did, he forgot all about the pain in his squashed toes. He licked his lips. Licked them again and promptly wished he was in shifted form. The man who sat on one of the two narrow beds was gorgeous. Gorgeous with a G. Lickable. The kind of man Shayonn longed to rub his head on—and not just to mark him as his own. Leaping into his lap, curling up and purring wasn’t the worst option either. Or maybe throwing him onto the floor, biting his neck, and showing him exactly what he was made of. “My, my, I can’t believe room service has fulfilled my order so quickly,” Shayonn said, watching a pair of thick black eyebrows draw together. “What?”“Tall, dark and handsome. Just the way I like it.” Shayonn was close to purring indeed now. The guy was adorable and just thinking of what those strong, broad hands could do to him, stroke his back…caress his fur…play with his ears… Shayonn shuddered. He loved to have his ears played with, at least when he was in his shifted form, which he wasn’t very often anymore. In human form, he’d give anyone who was stupid enough to try it a punch. “Do you have a name, too?” “Faolan.”“Mmm, nice. Please say you’re my other half.” “Oh, I guess I’d know if I were,” Faolan replied. It sounded like a growl.Shayonn grinned and sat on the bed to test the mattress. Not too soft but not too hard either. Pliable. Bouncy. Perfect for hard, fast rides. He clenched his fingers in a handful of smooth, cool cotton sheets. They’d be perfect on bare skin. Like a lover’s kiss. And they smelled so nice. A faint meowling sound escaped his lips. He thought the sexy stranger must have heard it, but when he looked up, the man glared at him. “Would you?” he asked gravely. Anger sparked in those dark brown eyes and Shayonn was lost. The deep, rich sound of Faolan’s voice made him tingle all over and the underlying tension had him itching to shift and tackle the man for a romp. Not that he was frightened of the big hunk—no. He was smitten. And that in itself could be dangerous. “Would I what?” Shayonn asked, lightheaded with excitement. “Know if I were your other half?” Handsome flashed a humourless smile. “Surely if I indeed was your other half, you’d recognise me? Or is this perhaps your honeymoon and you didn’t see your bride before the wedding so you don’t know what she looks like?”Shayonn’s good mood evaporated like a patch of fog in a storm, as always when the conversation turned to weddings. He answered the smile with a scowl. “You’re full of shit, aren’t you?”“Easy, puppy, don't get cheeky. I might be taller than you are.”Shayonn froze. “What?” “You heard.”“Yes, and apparently you need help handling that big head of yours. You’re at least two inches shorter—”“I’m not talking of this shape.” Shayonn gaped at him. He took a breath and his mouth shaped words, but no sound came out. Faolan must have realised that he was right. He sniffed the air, probably trying to figure out what he was dealing with. Would he be able to place the characteristic scent? Or would he just identify Shayonn as some kind of feline, without being able to define what breed exactly? “Now that we have that out of the way, how about you tell me your name?” Faolan suggested. “Shayonn.” Shayonn had surprised himself by replying promptly. He bit his lip and clenched his fists. Bloody idiot, why did you give him your real name? “Nice. Exotic. I like it. Reminds me of home. Not a plain human name either. Is that just the name or is there more to that?”Shayonn shifted his weight as he watched the other man. This was becoming far more dangerous than what he’d bargained for. “I have no idea what you’re talking about.”“Of course you have,” Faolan replied. “No need to hide it. I’m in the same boat. So come on, spit it out—what are you?”“I’m just the guy who shares this room with you,” Shayonn grumbled. “And I intend to make this a relaxing and quiet stay, so how about you keep your curiosity to your side of the room?”“Whoa, kid—”“I mean it!” Shayonn snapped and Faolan shut up.

Special Guest: Normandie Alleman
Hi all,
To start off this week, I have a special guest. She's a new author at Total-E-Bound and her first book, Venetian Love Knots releases today. She's agreed to sitting down for an interview with me, so let's see what this talented virgin author has to say about herself. Ladies and Gentlemen, please give a warm welcome to Normandie Alleman!
Hi, I’m Normandie Alleman, and I’m so glad to be here. Thanks for the invitation, Sage.
Thanks for being my guest, Normandie. Sit down, grab a coffee and let's get started with
The business ones
What genre(s) do you write in and why?Erotic romance. For many years I wrote nonfiction articles. One day I showed my husband a sexy passage that I had written. I was embarrassed even to show him. I had never thought of myself as a fiction writer. When he told me it was better than my other writing, I was shocked. Since that day I’ve been writing mostly erotic pieces.
Tell us about your latest release Venetian Love Knots is my first release, and I’m over the moon excited about it. It’s the story of a girl who goes to Venice to be in her best friend’s wedding. Her ex-boyfriend is going to be there too, and she’s worried about seeing him. They had an extremely passionate relationship, but things ended badly, and she’s been trying to get over him for years. Once she gets to Italy, she meets the groom’s handsome Italian cousin who sweeps her off her feet. Allison winds up with two irresistible men fighting for her heart – what’s a poor girl to do? It’s a sexy read, with a ménage and some BDSM.
Do you need a special setting to write in or do you have a ceremony to get you in the mood? What does it look like?I don’t need anything special. With six kids I’m usually just happy to find the time to write. I snuggle up in my bed with my laptop while they’re at school, but I also write “on the go” while waiting at basketball practice, in the car, wherever. I’ve written many a chapter in the waiting rooms of doctors’ offices.~Hah! Same here!
Has the release of your first book changed anything in your personal life? If so, what?Only that I’m busier. Being a “budding” author is fun. At first my only goal was to have a book published. I wasn’t sure if I would like “being an author” and all that entails. But in fact, I’ve found that I love it. My other job involves a good deal of marketing and sales so even the promotional part is fun for me.
Where do you find inspiration?Everywhere. Real life events often work their way into my stories. Being a psychologist, I’ve been interested in human behaviour all my life. Also, I know everybody tells writers to turn off the TV and only read and write. There’s no way I could do that. I love TV, and I think some of the best written entertainment is on television these days. As an author, I learn a lot about how to grab and hold a person’s interest from both books and television.
Who is your favourite character and why?Cole, without a doubt. He’s a complicated character, flawed in many ways – I love writing about a “bad boy.”
A favourite line from one of your booksCole rocked his beloved captive, each stroke an apology for his transgressions.
Your favourite drink and food when writingI’m addicted to diet coke so that’s always there. I have a sweet tooth so I’m usually eating something I baked or some candy I found in a Halloween or Mardi Gras treat bag. (Shhh! Don’t tell the kids.)
Okay, that was a great start. Now that we know each other a bit better, how about we move on to The nosy ones
How much of the real “you” is in your stories?Parts of me are in all of my characters. It’s like your dreams. You are actually all of the pieces in your dreams because they all come from your mind. Haha! That’s the psychologist in me talking. But I don’t write autobiographically. The idea begins with something in me, and I let my imagination take it from there.
Have you ever had a crush on a fictional character? Who was it?Absolutely. I will always be in love with Augustus McCray from Larry McMurty’s Lonesome Dove. He’s irresistible. Rhett Butler’s not too shabby either.
The steamiest scene from your booksProbably one from a book I’m working on now. It involves a Dom and his socialite sub. He really pushes her limits. In a very public way.
Favourite comfort food?Chicken and dumplins or macaroni and cheese, hard to choose.
A person you admireMy husband. Corny, right? But if you knew him, you’d understand. He’s that salt of the earth type of guy, incredibly passionate and courageous, and I’m madly in love with his brain.
If you could ask any person in the world one question of your choice, who would it be and what would you ask them? For a long time I wished I could ask O.J. if he did it. But he’d just say “no.” I wish we could ask someone who killed Jon Benet Ramsey. I obsess over true crime like that.
Oh, I liked that. Mmmm. Now, to finish,
The fast ones
Favourite colour? Pink
Favourite pet? My pig, “Petunia”
Dog or cat? Love ‘em both, but dogs because I’m allergic to my cats.
Coffee or tea? I never drink either.. Diet coke all the way.
Quickie or candles? Candles and preferably a “scene”
Hunky or chunky? Hunky for sure.
Suit & tie or jeans & boots? Jeans and boots.
Walk in the park or chat over cocktails? I choose the chat. I’m a motor mouth so that’s for me.
Thanks so much for the interview, Normandie. See, didn't hurt a bit, did it? But before I let you go, please tell us about your book, Venetian Love Knots - come on, don't be shy now ;)
Travelling to Venice to be the maid of honour in her best friend’s wedding sounds like a great vacation, and a romantic way to spend Valentine’s Day. But when Allison Fox discovers who the best man is, she is torn between duty and self-preservation.

Cole is the Texas cowboy has never got over his love for Allison. But when he declares his love for her after all this time, is she strong enough to walk away from the intense passion they share?
For years Nico, a handsome Italian, was committed to nothing but his work. Nico never expected he would meet an American beauty who would awaken in him a desire to love again. Once he finds her, Nico vows to never let Allison go.

Special Guest: Lily Harlem
Hi all,
I'm delighted to welcome a very special guest on my blog today. She's a multi-published and award-winning author and has just delved into Total-E-Bound's Clandestine Classics collection, spicing up Edgar Rice Burroughs' Tarzan of the Apes - but I won't spoil it for you, here's what the lady herself has to say about her latest work - Ladies & Gentlemen, please welcome Lily Harlem
Tarzan of the Apes by Edgar Rice Burroughs and Lily Harlem
Thanks so much for inviting me over today as your guest. I’m really excited because as part of Total-E-Bound’s Clandestine Classic range I’ve teamed up with Edgar Rice Burroughs and added steamy jungle scenes to TARZAN OF THE APES. This is one of several classics brought to life by various Total-E-Bound authors and inserts the sexiness that readers previously had to use their imagination for.
Blurb
A wild man with primitive desires, will anyone be able to tame him?
A handsome English aristocrat raised in the jungle by apes, self-sufficient, thriving on danger and with a head full of unanswered questions. Where is he from? Why is he different? What will satisfy the hunger that eats away at the very core of his being and finally feed his appetite for something other than food and shelter?
A delicate American woman, expected to be the best she can be and marry well, but with a craving for adventure and exploration as well as a hope in her heart to find true love with a man who can sweep her off her feet.
When the two very different souls collide, in deepest, darkest Africa, only one thing can happen, and it’s raw and feral. Lust a common language, satisfaction the ultimate goal. But will the gentleman outshine the savage-man? Is virtue to be honoured? And when faced with a civilised decision, can Tarzan do the right thing?
Excerpt
So Tarzan of the Apes did the only thing he knew to assure Jane of her safety. He removed his hunting knife from its sheath and handed it to her hilt first, again motioning her into the bower. The girl understood, and taking the long knife she entered and lay down upon the soft grasses while Tarzan of the Apes stretched himself upon the ground across the entrance. Here she lay, gazing upward at the crude roof of the shelter, and mulled over the extraordinary day that had unfolded, and the wild man who had stolen the first kiss from her lips. Although Jane was an innocent woman she was not naive in the ways of married couples. What went on behind closed doors and beneath the covers was something she was completely intrigued by and she’d sought to quell her curiosity in the only way she could. For Jane, like Tarzan, adored reading, and fashionable books about love and romance that hinted and suggested at the many delights to be had between a woman and a man were her most favourite material—she’d been thrilled to find two such books within the primitive cabin. She sat and began to unlace her shoes, her hair just skimming the greenery above her. As her small and nimble fingers unweaved the soft leather laces her gaze settled on Tarzan’s broad, golden back as he lay, facing away from her, staring into the line of trees. The gutter of his spine was deep set and flanked with columns of strong muscle. He had a few scars and imperfections around his shoulders, marks of his wild lifestyle, and at the very base of his back, just before the doeskin-like loin cloth he wore, were two dents, almost dimples.Jane couldn’t help but linger over the task of removing her shoes, the sight before her was simply too engrossing. She had never seen a man wearing so little clothing. The scrap he wore around his modesty barely covered his buttocks, indeed she could make out the very groove of his cheeks through the material. Her gaze roamed downward, committing to memory his powerful thighs coated in sandy hairs, calves sinewy with tendon and muscle and long feet that she was quite sure had never been within spitting distance of a shoe until now.Footwear finally removed, she pushed them outside her small shelter.Upon hearing her movement Tarzan turned, his body twisting, his face a mask of concern.“I am quite all right,” Jane said, gesturing to her shoes. “But I really can’t sleep in those.”Tarzan looked at the shoes, then sat and reached for one. He held it up, turned it over, examined the base and the inside, poking and prodding. Finally he lifted it to his nose and inhaled, long and deep.“No,” said Jane, snatching it away. “Really, that is most untoward and really quite rude.”Tarzan tugged his hand back, fingers clenched, his expression evidence enough that he knew not what he had done wrong.Jane, seeing his confusion, took pity on him. For she understood that he was trying very hard to make her feel at ease, and she should surely return the favour. “I’m sorry,” she said, reaching for his hand that was in a fist at his sternum. “It is just that they are the only shoes I have, and I, well, I fear I may not have been able to keep them as fresh as I would like.” As she spoke she squeezed his big hand in hers. His skin was a little sticky from the copious amounts of juicy fruit they had shared, but even so a current of pleasure shot up her arm and settled in her belly. His hand, nearly twice the size of hers, was so masculine, and so strong. Unlike Clayton’s neatly trimmed nails, Tarzan’s were unevenly short, no doubt from wear and tear, and he had a twisted strip of vine around his wrist, a kind of makeshift bracelet, it was like nothing she had seen before. He allowed her to keep holding his hand and tipped his head, his gaze boring into hers.“It is just,” she went on, “that bathing facilities since we landed ashore have been considerably less than adequate. What I really long for is fresh water to sink my entire body into, to make me feel refreshed and rejuvenated and get some relief from this tropical heat.” Knowing he understood not a word, she tutted and released his hand. Frustration ploughed lines across her brow.Tarzan raised his eyebrows and wiggled his fingers in a ‘carry-on’ gesture.“Oh,” she said with a sigh. “What I really want to be able to do is wash.” As she spoke she cupped her palms and raised them to her face, mimicking splashing water on her cheeks.Tarzan’s face lit up. He knew instantly what Jane was trying to say. She wanted to clean her body. Tarzan understood that desire very well, for he too liked to bathe frequently to keep his body free from irritations and unpleasant aromas. He had also read about it in his books. Civilised people set personal cleanliness in very high esteem.Eager to show Jane his comprehension of her request, Tarzan jumped up and pointed in the direction of Cumba, the small rocky inlet just yards to the right of their camp. It was a safe and shallow bathing area that he had used since being a small boy. He was sure it would be perfect for a woman, for his woman, Jane.He made a grunting sound which his ape family would have recognised as ‘come this way’ and stepped toward Cumba.“Do you understand me?” Jane asked, amazement in her tone and her eyes wide.Tarzan stepped further away, urging her to follow with frantic hand gestures.“You want me to come with you?” Jane asked, crawling completely from the shelter and standing barefoot on the roughly textured grass.Without realising he was giving the correct signal, Tarzan nodded.“Okay,” Jane said, pressing down the creases in her dress and tilting her chin in a very confident little gesture given her precarious situation. “I will. Please lead the way.”Tarzan grinned, flashing his neat teeth, and strode across the clearing. In order to keep up Jane quickly realised that she must move at a near jog. Though once they reached the denseness of the forest this was impossible, and Tarzan slowed in order to move branches and bend bows out of her path.Jane was thankful when after a couple of minutes of thick undergrowth another clearing emerged. This time one with a large rock pool fed from a sparkling waterfall. She heard it first, the tinkling sound of water falling on stone, and when she finally laid eyes on it, she paused to marvel at the sheer beauty of the small lagoon.High above the sky was turning pink. Dusk would soon be upon them. In the tallest branches, bright red and blue parrots were preparing to roost. The rocks around the waterfall were the colour of elephant skin, and the water, a rich navy, sparkled silver where the cascading water added to its depths.“It is beautiful,” Jane said, her fingertips sweeping over the petals of a crimson orchid that bobbed its long neck to her right. “Simply exquisite.”

Sneak Peek: Shifting Changes
Hi all,
Here it is - the first excerpt from Shifting Changes which has just been published on Smashwords and Amazon. This scene finds Faolan and Shayonn when they first meet - as roommates, in a lovely hotel during a holiday.
Please say you’re my other half.”
Shifting Changes (The First Shift) by Sage MarloweParanormal erotic romance with MM and MF elements / novella (20.900 words)

Here it is - the first excerpt from Shifting Changes which has just been published on Smashwords and Amazon. This scene finds Faolan and Shayonn when they first meet - as roommates, in a lovely hotel during a holiday.
Blast From The Past - Kick-off
Hi all,
I've come up with a new feature for my blog, the Blast from the Past. Those are snippets from the interviews I've given in the past, because some of my interviewers' questions were just too good to answer only once. They can be serious or funny, insightful or just plain naughty, so - Enjoy!
Here goes the first:
Q. Do you have a particular person, or picture of an actor or actress in mind when you describe your characters?
A. Not usually. In fact, most of the times I don't even know what my boys look like until at some point during the story. It's like they reveal themselves and their full identity little by little, both in looks and in personality. The biggest exception to this, of course, is the Romeo & Julian series. I knew exactly what Romeo looks like throughout and boy, did I have fun researching him!
