Special Guest: Rebecca Joyce (guest)

I'm delighted to host a special surprise guest today - Rebecca Joyce! She's a virgin in (almost) every way. This is her first guest blog post and her very first book, releases today from Siren-BookStrand.

Please welcome Rebecca and show this lady some love and support by leaving her a comment!

Wife, Mother & Author…Rebecca Joyce.
When it comes to creating anything on a whim, a mom is the first person any child runs to. When a husband needs a button sewn or a correct key-code for the remote, he will hunt down his wife. But what happens when this mom/wife takes time away from her family?
She… WRITES!  As the wife of a Military soldier and the mother to three children, I have moved from one side of the country to the next. I classified myself as the typical ‘homemaker’ for eighteen years before trying to find my own niche in this world. I happened upon writing during one of my husband’s deployments to pass the time. I was always an avid reader; even from an early age, preferring fiction to anything else and boy did I read a lot during the first two months. Eventually, I got it into my head, that I needed a way to let out all the emotions, we military wives keep bottled up, for fear of upsetting our spouses and children.
So, when the kids were all sleeping and I said my last ‘I love you’ to my husband, I would sit at my computer and began peck away. At first, it was an outlet for anger, frustration, grief, hostility, you name it…I wrote about it! But as the months drew on and the longing for a physical intimacy grew, my writing took on a life of its own. Before I knew it, I was in a whole new world.

My first scribbles, were just simple erotic thoughts and wishes. As I continued to write, those wishes turned into handsome hunks and before I knew it, I had created a set of characters so real, I found myself dreaming of them…seeing them as they truly are. Writing became my haven, where when life and the military became too much for me, I could vent and let it all out.

It took me over two years to muster the courage to submit my first manuscript and I only did that because my husband said, “Becky, I never pegged you for a quitter.” Since then, I have been very busy.

With my first book, The Cattle Drive…The Armstrong Brothers of Cedar Creek coming out October 24th, 2012, my life has been amazing. Though sometimes my real life interferes with my imaginative life, I try to balance each with whit, sarcasm and humor.
“Screwing up takes practice…I think I’m well rehearsed!”   ****  Out today: Rebecca's debut novel "The Cattle Drive" from Siren-BookStrand:
Michael Armstrong, the second of six brothers from Montana, is hell bent on stopping his father from acquiring another ranch. Leaving his comfy job in Illinois, he moves to Texas to help a woman, he knows nothing about. Rachael Mason is the sole owner of the R & R Ranch in Cedar Creek, Texas. Living her life in the moment, Rachael is reckless and dangerous. When the land next to hers is sold, she soon finds her new neighbor might just be the next distraction she is looking for.  When unforeseen circumstances begin to threaten her livelihood, Rachael is forced to make a decision which could affect her whole way of life. With breath taking scenery, an old fashioned cattle drive, and the arrival of the rest of Armstrong Brothers, Michael and Rachael embark on a whirlwind of lies, deception, discovery and love.

Tuesday Teaser - "Were-Devils' Curse" by Simone Sinna (guest)

My Teaser this Tuesday is Simone Sinna. She's telling you about the connection between Twilight and Tasmanian Devils and she's bringing you some excerpts from her brand new release "Were-Devils' Curse". Please welcome Simone and show her some love and support by leaving a comment!

“Were-Devils”−A Hot Aussie Take on Were-Wolves!
I am sorry to confess, it all probably started with Twilight. Well, not really. More with the actor that played Jacob, the were-wolf in the film version (Edward just never did it for me). I still have to apologize for this, as the actor is not much older than my son. Still…
There I was, lamenting on how truly awful the film Breaking Dawn was, wandering through a marketplace in Hobart, Tasmania. For those not familiar, Hobart is the capital of this island state of Australia, and down south it’s cold, wet, green, and the part of the country most like England and Washington State. I lived here as a child and have always had a hot…oops, soft spot for it.
The whole place is full of character. In winter the mist comes off the sea and snakes around you and gets into your bones. My imagination ran riot and when I saw all the tourist paraphernalia about the endangered Tasmanian Devil I thought−why not?
I had finished my first series, Stephanie Beauman the intrepid journalist finally getting her man, and I wanted to try something different. A gentler heroine and…two men? Yes please.
A new series was born! Were-Devils’ Curse based on the real risk to the Tasmanian devils, on the endangered list, is the first of four and available on Siren (and Amazon next month) as an Ebook novella. Were-Devils’ Revenge & Ghosts’ Return are both finished, the first of these just submitted the other on second draft and there will be a final one I think Ghosts’s Release. They will all be separate, new heroine and heroes in each, but with some overlap and includes a curse from World War II Whitby (where Dracula was written…). Paranormal, ménage amour (threesomes) and Happily Ever After in all, with a strong dose of magic and a dash of science!

Were-Devils’ Curse [Ménage Amour: Erotic Paranormal Ménage a Trois Romance, M/F/M, shape-shifters, HEA]Publisher's lin: http://www.bookstrand.com/were-devils-curse

Jarrod and Jesse are extraordinary men even before Becc discovers their secret. Working with their father to try to save the Tasmanian Devil from extinction in the remote wilds of Tasmania, Australia, Becc find she is instantly attracted to them both, as they are to her. But the Destroyers, a group descended from the False Vampire Ghost Bats, threaten both Becc’s and her men’s future happiness as well as the survival of the Were-Devils species. A curse from love gone wrong two generations earlier looks like it may be re-enacted as the Seer’s stones tell of an uncertain future.  Racing against time a secret from Becc’s past threatens them all and the Were-Devil brothers are given a choice, as the prophecy foretells. Will they make the right choice, and can they save their father and still both have a future with Becc?

 Story Excerpt

Becc heard the car stop over by the house and a car door’s slam. She was pretty sure that at least one of the voices was a woman’s, and curious, she went to the door and peered out.The car was a compact SUV, probably a good choice given the condition of the road. The two new arrivals were rugged up in what looked like brand new bad-weather walking outfits. The man was in khaki colors, a bear with a shock of white hair and a huge camera hung over his arm. Tilman walked over to them. The woman, in fawn, Becc recognized. It was the tall blonde woman from town. The woman, rather than looking at Tilman, turned in Becc’s direction and her eyes focused on her. Becc felt her hand stroking the devil stone in her pocket before she even knew what she was doing. Shaken, Becc withdrew inside wondering who they were.
Tilman returned to the Center about ten minutes later. She hadn’t heard the car depart, so she was not surprised to see the visitors in tow.
“Come and join us for coffee.” It was a statement rather than an invitation. Becc followed Tilman, aware that he was on edge, and watched curiously as he again locked the door behind him.
“Why do you lock it?” Becc asked.
Tilman looked at her. “It must always be locked, no exceptions,” he said. “There are people who…would like me to fail.”
The groups who were opposed to him having an infected animal this side of the highway?
She wondered if she should ask who the visitors were but figured she’d find out soon enough.
Lena, the cool blonde with the green eyes was introduced as a reporter from Brisbane, Queensland, Zac as her camera man. His eyes, like hers, were green, and both their skins were so white as to seem translucent.
“They want to do an article on the work I’m doing here with the devils,” said Tilman. He seemed distracted, and after a few minutes Becc decided she was being used as a delaying tactic. Tilman was looking out for his sons. For them to appear or in hope they wouldn’t? And why?
“I only arrived yesterday,” said Becc. “But you’ve come from even further than me. Why the interest from Brisbane?”
“We work for Nature’s World,” said Lena with a smile that showed her white teeth to full effect but without any warmth. “We cover an array of animal stories. The devil’s plight is a uniquely Australian one.”
“Quite,” agreed Becc. “But you’ve come a long way from where most of the Save the Tasmanian devil action is happening. Have you been to the Conservation Park?”
“Yes of course,” said Lena. “I interviewed Professor Van der Veill early in the week.”
Becc intuited rather than saw a slight movement from Tilman. She wondered if one his son’s was in the vicinity, but if so, he didn’t materialize.
“He suggested I also speak to Professor Tremain,” Lena continued. “We’d love to get a photo, perhaps of you both?”
“No.” Tilman’s tone was decisive enough to leave no room for doubt. “I don’t do photos, and the animals are asleep so we can’t disturb them.”
Lena shrugged. “Perhaps then you can tell us a bit about your progress then?”
She was really very attractive, thought Becc, but why did it feel so faked? Certainly the woman was wearing a lot of makeup and her long fingernails were painted bright red. Becc looked self-consciously to her own, which hadn’t seen more than a cursory file in months. Lena on the other hand looked pristine, right down to the walking boots that had surely never seen more dirt than the walk from the car to the house.
“My father doesn’t talk about his work.”
Becc recognized Jarrod’s voice immediately. She again felt a flicker of movement from Tilman, and this time she was sure it was relief.
Lena looked toward the door where Jarrod was standing, Jesse at his side. The tension that filled the air was so strong that Becc found herself holding her breath. The devil stone she had transferred to her jeans pocket seemed to will itself into her hand.
“What a pity,” said Lena, her voice now not just cold but with a dangerous edge. Becc almost thought she saw a snarl. The bear-sized man at her side seemed to have grown in stature beside her. “I suppose you two don’t want to be in a photo either? You’d make a…striking…image to bring attention to…the devil.”
Becc saw Jarrod put his hand on Jesse’s arm. It seemed to restrain him. Something was going on beneath the surface here that Becc could sense but not understand. Bad blood went through her mind and as it did Lena turned her green eyes toward her, the corner of her mouth turning upward. With a start, Becc wondered if the woman could actually read her mind?
“And with your….girlfriend would be even better,” said Lena.
This time Jesse did move forward, and as Jarrod held onto him tighter, it was Tilman that stood and intervened.
“I’m sorry you’ve come so far for no purpose,” he said. “I’ll show you out to the car seeing as we can’t help you.”
“Of course,” said Lena. But on her way out she turned and stepped toward Becc. “If you change your mind,” she said in a low voice, pushing a card into Becc’s hand as she spoke. The touch, though brief, sent a physical chill directly into her blood stream.
Becc stifled a gasp as the cold coursed through her veins. She stared after the woman and watched as Tilman ushered her and her cameraman out. When she turned to look for Jarrod and Jesse, they had gone.

Adult Excerpt
Becc must have fallen asleep, because she didn’t hear a knock, but suddenly she was aware that she wasn’t alone. Though she started at the realization, she was almost immediately lulled back into a sense of deep relaxation and contentment.
“Jarrod,” she whispered. He stood before her, naked to the chest, shadows from the fire flickering across his flesh, making him look dark and exotic. She couldn’t see his eyes, but knew they were on her as she stood.
“My love,” he said. He folded his arms around her from behind, with her between him and the fire, massaging her breasts through the cotton of her top.
“I would like to have you here, on the rug,” he whispered into her ear, his words hot and sensual, the mellifluous tones mesmerizing her as much as the flames in the fireplace were.
“Yes,” she replied without hesitation. She wasn’t sure what was happening to her, where her normal common sense and caution had disappeared, but something that felt so good couldn’t possibly be anything to worry about.
“But I want you to enjoy not just me,” said Jarrod gently. “Will you trust me?”
Becc felt a wave of anticipation, but though it was tinged with fear, it was the nervousness of excitement rather than terror. She knew not why, but yes she did trust him, this man she had known for little more than twenty-four hours. Not enjoy just me? It had to mean what she thought it meant, had to mean what her body craved for, something that up until two days ago had never occurred to her, and now had her juices running with anticipation.
“Yes,” she said simply. No more than a few seconds passed, and again without hearing the door or his approach, she looked to see Jesse there in the room with them, naked also to the waist, his torso hairless, broad and muscular and gleaming with sweat in the firelight.
No words were spoken. Becc leant back into Jarrod, who was needed to keep her upright. Her eyes locked Jesse’s, who held onto the edge of the mantelpiece, seeming as much in need of support as she was. Jarrod’s hands came down, caressing her neck and then gently undoing the buttons of her blouse. She saw Jesse tense, eyes now watching as his brother exposed the milky flesh above her breasts and the mauve lace bra that allowed her now-hardened nipples to be seen.
Becc was barely aware of Jarrod lowering the blouse off her shoulders, and then undoing the bra and slipping the straps down to release her breasts. But she was completely aware of Jesse’s reaction, the moan that escaped his lips and the bulge in his trousers that seemed certain to burst the zip.
“Taste her,” said Jarrod softly, inviting his brother. For a moment it seemed Jesse was paralyzed but then he took the step forward, sinking his head between her breasts, a hand on each one to take each nipple in turn to his mouth.
The sensation was exquisite. Behind her the softness of Jarrod’s lips and tongue on her neck and ear contrasted to the more insistent mouth of Jesse, pulling her nipple and chewing, a feeling that bordered on pain, had not it been for the compensating waves of electricity that it sent through her.
Becc could feel the heat of both men, the desire clear in Jarrod in the hardness of his cock as it rubbed against her butt. Jesse now moved his hands to her hips and knelt down in front of her, his mouth going to her belly button, licking her before his teeth gripped the button of her jeans and pulled them open. More impatient than Jarrod, he pulled her jeans down, but Jarrod’s hands came onto her hips from behind, clamping over the side strings of her thong and keeping it in place. Jesse ran his hands down, touching her bare legs as he dragged the jeans with them, but in front of his eyes was the triangle of flimsy lace material between him and her sex.
Jesse groaned. Jarrod had a hand on each breast, kissing her and pulling her tight to him, as Jesse leant forward and ran his tongue from her umbilicus, downward to the edge of her thong as his hands were edging upward to the top of her thighs.
Becc had never experienced such bliss. The ability to give herself to these two men and whatever they had planned was opening doors into pleasure zones she hadn’t known existed. Jarrod seemed to be completely in tune with her, as if he had a direct connection to her soul and was able to read her every need almost before she herself was aware of it. Through the subtlest of signals he seemed to be able to accelerate and pull back Jesse’s pace. Just as she thought she couldn’t bear the suspense of him delaying touching her more intimately, Jarrod, pulling her to him, dropped to his knees, lowering her with him, then slid her onto the thick rug stretched before the fire.
Jarrod let her rest back, as he stood again. He and Jesse stood over her and both lowered their jeans and briefs. Becc took them both in, awed that men could be so beautiful. And not just one, but two, both fixated and adoring of her. In the firelight their bodies looked smooth and muscular, Jesse stronger and tauter with a wide cock that left her wondering about him entering her, Jarrod fit and lean, cock long and hard as he watched her.

This scene finds Parker and Josh at one of my favourite moments in a relationship - that magical first kiss...

Parker leaned in close enough to stir the short hairs behind Josh’s ear with his breath as he spoke. “I want to fuck you, Josh. You do know that, right?” He raised his hand, cupped Josh’s cheek, and tilted his face up so he could look into those soft chocolate eyes. “So what do you think?” His free hand landed on Josh’s hip, just an inch or so from the tempting curves of his buttocks. Josh made a soft, helpless sound somewhere between a nervous laugh and a moan. He pulled his head back a little at the same time as he flexed his hips to push into Parker’s touch.

“Shh,” Parker soothed. “I’m not going to hurt you.” Placing his thumb under Josh’s chin, he held his head in place. Parker let his gaze wander from the lovely brown eyes to the full, moist lips that were parted just a little, so invitingly. Lowering his head, he brushed a first gentle, tentative kiss on Josh’s startled mouth. When Josh didn’t exactly respond but didn’t pull back, either, Parker took it as the permission to go further. He found Josh in a second, more intense kiss. This time, he didn’t settle for just a brush of lips. He caressed Josh’s bottom lip with his tongue before he licked that little cleft at the corner of his mouth then, at last, dipped into the sweet, velvety opening. Josh tasted nice. Minty, clean, and so excitingly new. Fresh and pure, and nothing like the shady figures Parker normally did this kind of activity with.

Parker explored the inside of Josh’s mouth and trailed his tongue along the sharp ridges of teeth to where Josh’s tongue waited to be awoken from its slumber. Josh responded at last. His kiss was still reluctant but all the sweeter for its shyness. Parker groaned into their kiss. This was good, but it wasn’t enough. Leaning back a little, he nibbled Josh’s lips briefly then started a trail of tiny kisses along Josh’s jaw to his neck. Josh shuddered delicately, and Parker felt goose bumps rise under his touch. He gripped Josh’s earlobe with his teeth, biting gently and drawing a choked moan from Josh. The sound was lost in the silence of the kitchen, but, at last, Josh leaned into Parker’s hold. Parker kissed a line down Josh’s neck to his collarbone, as always a little disconcerted when he felt the pulse under his lips. This one was strong, so full of life, and undeniably excited.

Still holding Josh’s head in place with one hand, Parker started investigating Josh’s lower regions. When his fingers brushed Josh’s fly, he was pleased to feel the hard bulge of an erection behind it. Cupping it, he gave it a teasing squeeze. Josh moaned and melted against him. Parker undid his fly, swallowing whatever weak attempt at protest Josh made in another kiss.

This is the tag line for my latest release, Newborn, and I'm going to give you a little insight to what it means.
Those of you who have read some of my books probably know that my guys quite often have some emotional issues to deal with. First there was Noah in Sub-Mission, who has to battle his own inner demons to be able to appreciate the loving and supportive partner he has found in Pierce. Then Sheridan, in Knives & Feathers, who is so riddled with guilt and self-hatred that the only way he can vent his feelings is by hurting himself.
www.bookstrand.com/newbornIn Newborn, Parker Rowe finds himself faced with the ultimate dilemma: He hates vampires with an intensity that has made him chase and slay every single one of them he could track down for years. He is filled with bitterness, hatred and the burning need for revenge. Those are the only emotions he has been capable of feeling for almost a decade - until he meets Josh. Josh Summer is everything Parker isn't, or rather, the parts he has lost. Josh is pure, innocent, and sweet-natured. He is also quite a bit younger than Parker and sexually inexperienced, but very happy to change that. In short, he is the one who finally brings the summer back into Parker's heart and replaces the darkness and void in it with feelings of love and affection.
I can't tell you what happens next without spoiling the story for you, but something happens that makes it practically impossible for Parker to even be around Josh, let alone continue to have a relationship with him. And yet, the spark of love this sweet boy has ignited in him simply refuses to die, little by little lacing Parkers' world of black and white, good and evil with rays of sunshine and the warmth of love. Once opened to positive feelings, his heart and soul crave more - but will this spark be enough to make him overcome all the walls he has put up or will it take more to make him understand that nothing is ever only what it appears to be at first?

Tuesday Teaser - May Water (guest)

Please welcome today's Tuesday Teaser, my guest May Water. She's tickling your fantasy with some role play suggestions - and those have nothing to do with Halloween... Enjoy and leave her a comment!

Bring your fantasies to life - Is Role Playing for you?
With Halloween fast approaching I thought it would be a good time to delve into sexual role play. Induging in dress up games can add a bit of fun and spice to any relationship. For some of us our fantasies often portray our partner in another profession or role. Maybe they already have a job that turns us on, but the opportunity to fulfill it just hasn't happened (alot of businesses have security cameras now a days!) But is sexual role play for everyone? I think its's an area worth exploring. Maybe a stroll through the adult Halloween section with your honey could stir a hidden passion. Or checking out costumes online together could open up the discussion. If you see something that strikes either one of your fancy, post Halloween is a perfect time to scoop up discounted costumes, make up and wigs.

The thing to remember about sexual role play isn't necessarily the costume (although that does help one get into the role ). It's about attitude. Everyday life yields many opportunities to have a little fun. If your man is out clearing brush or cutting the lawn, why can't the mistress of the house give the sweaty lawnboy a nice thank you by greeting him at the door, tugging him to the bathroom, and sponging him off in a nice hot bath? How about making yourself look desirable, showing up at your honey's favorite lunch spot, pretending you don't know eachother, and slip them a hot note? Your partner will most likely be eager to get home when the work day is done. If your man is fiddling under your car, how about a skirt, heels, and no panties while the customer (you) inspects him working? The possibilities are endless.

Here's a list of the most common role plays for couples. Even if you choose not to go with costumes then maybe just a little shift in imagination will make some everyday chore a little more fun if you get a bit naughty. Have fun and Feel Good!

Excerpt SALT WATER TAFFY/SEASIDE SURRENDER SERIES

“That’s my sweet girl,” Molly purred as she kissed Jess’s teary face. She had gotten used to Jess’s after-orgasm cries. It didn’t happen every time but often enough to prompt Molly to keep a supply of handkerchiefs next to her bed. She reached over Jess to snag a clean one. Then she dabbed her face lovingly, alternating the dabs with small kisses. Jess gave her a sweet smile and Molly’s heart leaped. In the soft rays of sunset Jess appeared to glow like an angel. Molly tugged her pigtails playfully.
“My little angelic schoolgirl,” she whispered in her ear softly.
Jess twirled one of her long blonde pigtails. “Mmhm, I’m all yours,” she said in a little girl’s voice, causing Molly’s pussy to tingle. She grinned at Jess before nibbling her neck, thinking back to what Michael said about not passing by any opportunity to live out one’s fantasies. She and Jess had a huge list of fantasies. They would have fun crossing each one off their itinerary list after completing each one.
“Good, that’s what I want to hear,” whispered Molly before kissing her lips. “That you’re all mine.” Jess wound her arms around Molly’s neck and kissed her back, both girls very much in sync.
“Mmhm,” responded Jess softly. “I’m your favorite flavor remember?” Molly chuckled as she nuzzled into Jess’s chest, loving the feel of her soft arms wrapped around her and the sound of her steady heartbeat. As she rested her head against Jess’s chest she felt safe. She felt happy. But most importantly, she felt hope.

National Coming Out Day

Today is

First of all, my greatest respect to those who have had the courage to come out and my deepest sympathy to those who, for whatever reason, choose not to take that step.

>>>Please note: A part of this post was originally posted in July under the title "A Different Kind of Coming Out", but I believe it's worth being pulled out of the drawer for this occasion<<<

Coming out. What does that have to do with me, you might ask? Well, maybe not all that much, apart from perhaps the fact that everyone should be at least aware of the issue. But let's face it, most readers of erotic romance, MM, MF, FF, MMF, MFM and any other combination or amount of the letters M & F you can think of, are women. Straight women. So, if you're the typical erotic romance reader, then unless you have a gay child or other relative or a friend, the issue of coming out does probably not concern you. Doesn't it? Really?

Thanks to the amazing The L Project for this, and also to Wipe Out Transphobia, a fabo page that is growing by leaps and bounds. Please show your love for both pages! They love us! <3 = <3 If you can't relate to a person who is facing the decision whether or not to tell their families about their real selves, why don't you try to take at least a few small steps in their shoes?

I believe we've already established that you enjoy the more explicit kind of romance novels and since you're visiting my blog, chances are that you like reading about the different amounts of Ms rather than Fs, although it doesn't really matter which combination of Ms and Fs you prefer. I just want you to think about what this indulgence means to you and how you deal with it in regards to your families. Is it common knowledge or guilty pleasure?
You see, I write erotic romance books about men who love other men. To me, there is absolutely nothing wrong with that. It’s what I like, it’s what I’m comfortable with, so you could say, it is a part of who I am. So far, so good. Now here’s the crux. I live in a very rural area. Just to give you an idea of what I’m talking about: it took our local newspaper until some time in July 2012 to pick up on the success of Fifty Shades of Grey (You know, that book). The article summed up the story line in brief and, rather shamefacedly, explained a little about BDSM and a bit more about e-books, making it sound as though either was rather obscure and not altogether morally acceptable – just what I imagine the mini-skirt to have been considered as back in the days.
In other words, these are things and inclinations that exist somewhere out there, but not in this little quiet corner of the world. Needless to say that this is the same attitude homosexuality is perceived with. Discreet looks, a whisper behind a shamefully raised hand, but not something that is accepted as just another flavour of life.
This short newspaper article reminded me all over again of what it’s like to write – and read – MM erotic romance in such an environment. I’m using an e-book reader obviously, so no-one knows what I’m up to behind the sleek black cover of that little reading device. Mind you, it’s not as though I’d be able to just walk into a bookstore around here and buy a print book of that genre. (I can't even buy my own paperbacks here, but that's a different story.) I’m not sure how people would react if I ordered one. Hmm, might be worth a try, just to see.
Well, anyway, I’d been reading those books for a few months before I wrote the first of my own, and contrary to what I expected, submitting to a publisher and exposing that part of myself to the eyes of complete strangers, was blissfully easy. It still is. But telling my family about what it is exactly that I’m writing about? Friends? Phew. That is a different matter entirely and yes, this is where I’m beginning to understand what it must be like for a queer person to come out. I’m also beginning to relate to my characters and what they must have been through at some point in their lives, although the matter of coming out has, until recently, never been much of a topic in my stories. It may be a smite naïve, but I don’t perceive homosexuality – or queerness – as anything other than just a way to live, so I’m finding it hard to relate to the issues some people still seem to have with it.
Now, back to you. I hope my story has made it a bit easier for you to relate to the problems of people whose sexual preferences are frowned upon by the public. How do you deal with your own preferences? How do you handle your inclination to reading smutty books? Do you hide behind the neutral cover of your e-book reader or would you be happy sitting on the bus or underground, or say, in your doctor’s waiting room holding a print copy in your hand with two (or more) sparsely dressed hunks on the cover - or a hunk and a sassy heroine? What are your thoughts as readers and how do other authors deal with this?

Parker Rowe has hated vampires with a passion ever since his family was murdered by a gang of malicious vampires, and he has been trying to hunt down the culprits for years.
A promising clue leads him into a small, secluded town where he meets Josh Summers. Sweet and innocent, Josh is as much out of place in Parker’s world of revenge and violence as he is in his own narrow-minded community, but he can give Parker the peace of mind he craves. When the vampires Parker is chasing use Josh to deliver a very special message, Parker finds himself facing the ultimate dilemma. If what he loves and what he hates the most become the same, which emotion will win?
While Parker struggles to accept the changes his lover goes through, he comes closer than ever to detecting the truth about his family’s deaths—but then his own life takes a dramatic turn…
A Siren Erotic Romance

Story Excerpt (G)

Parker froze mid-motion, listening. He felt the familiar cold clasp of fear claw up his spine and settle in that spot right at the base of his skull, but he ignored it. So what. He’d grown used to it. Fear didn’t frighten him anymore because fear couldn’t hurt him. They, however, could hurt him.
Tilting his head, he willed his feeble senses to provide him with more information. Information that might be vital for his survival, but, little surprisingly, his senses failed him. He could hear nothing, see nothing, and fuck, smell nothing.
Well, of course that wasn’t true. He could hear the soft, almost melodic rushing noise, the faint thuds of the falling rain. He could see it as silvery threads, reflected by the dim light of a the singular street lantern at the end of the road. He could even smell it in the air around him, the moisture it brought, and the damp earth it stirred. Rain. Water. One of the major sources of life but entirely meaningless to him. Just like life itself had lost its meaning. There. A movement to his right. A slight disturbance of the air, gone as fast as a shadow and just as impossible to catch.
Well, nearly as impossible to catch, Parker thought grimly as he tightened his grip around the gun he was holding. The secret was knowing how to do it—and having the right equipment. Turning slowly around his own axis, he stared into the ghostly darkness that surrounded him. He knew he was at a mighty disadvantage here, but he didn’t exactly have a reputation for his clear-headed approach to pursuing his goal. His quarry. Some might say it was what made him so good at what he did. Some certainly said it was what was going to get him killed. Parker didn’t care about either of them. He didn’t care about anyone or anything apart from what was needed to bring him closer to his enemies.
He never even heard his attacker approach. With the sudden, unforeseeable power of a lightning strike, Parker was grabbed, lifted up, and whirled through the air before he hit the ground with a nasty thud. That would have been his skull breaking, he mused with an eerie detachedness, even as bright pain exploded in his brain and nausea threatened to overwhelm him.
He ignored both. Like fear, pain was something he’d learned to ignore. It only told him he was still alive. Which he wouldn’t be much longer if he didn’t get a grip on himself and start fighting back.
Except, there was nothing to fight. He raised his head gingerly to look around and take stock. A moan slipped out of his mouth before he could stop it. Fuck, but his head did hurt. So much it affected his vision, so maybe the damage was worse than he’d thought. Blinking furiously, he tried to make his eyes focus, but the world around him remained blurry.
This time he stifled the sound that wanted out, a little sigh. If it was still around, then tonight might well be the end of it—the end of Parker, to be precise. Shivering from a sudden gush of cold air, Parker reached into his pocket and curled his fingers around the familiar, smooth round shape. The metal had warmed from the heat his body was radiating. It felt quite nice now, actually. Comforting, friendly, and nothing like the deadly tool it was.
“Take your hand out of your pocket,” a voice said right behind Parker’s left ear. “Slowly, and be sure to leave whatever’s inside it where it is.”
Parker let out a sarcastic chuckle. “Now why would I do that?” he asked, clenching his fingers around the bulbous piece of metal. If he was to part with it, it would have to rip his arm off.
“If that’s what you want,” the voice said casually, and Parker knew it had figured out exactly what his plan was and found a way to keep him from putting it into effect. Which meant he’d failed, so maybe whatever was about to happen served him right.
The creature behind him laughed softly. “Yeah, right. You’re quite the hero, aren’t you?” It must have leaned in, because the voice was closer now, and Parker could feel the air the thing expelled with its words stir the hairs at the nape of his neck.
“But let me tell you, Parker—tonight isn’t the end of it. At least not the way you think it will be. No, for you, tonight is the beginning.”

Adult excerpt

Josh held Parker’s gaze for a moment before he looked away. “I’m not sure there’s much you can do at this time of night.”
“There’s always one thing,” Parker said softly and reached out to take the towel from Josh’s clenched hand, stroking the back of his fist with his fingertips. Josh flinched but let it happen, staring at their hands like a startled deer.
“W–what’s that?” he asked after a moment.
“Can’t you guess by now?”
“I, um, I–I’m n–not sure,” Josh stammered.
He sneaked his fingers into the waistband of Josh’s boxers, found the eager cock beneath it, and freed it. It leapt into his hand gratefully. Josh let out a needy whimper as Parker tightened his fist around his shaft, and he pushed into the tight channel Parker offered him.
“That’s it, baby,” Parker whispered. “Show me what you like. Take what you need.” He turned Josh around, one arm wrapped around his shoulders to hold him steady, and used his other hand to jerk him off. Josh reflexively thrust into his grip, panting as he did so. His head dropped back against Parker’s shoulder, baring the smooth curve of his throat as he leaned on him for support. About two inches shorter and of a much lighter build, he was a perfect fit for Parker’s body. Parker smiled into his neck. It was so easy. Just a few more strokes and Josh went still in his hold.
“Oh.” Josh sounded endearingly surprised when he came. His cock was pulsing in Parker’s hand, and soon his knees buckled, and he went limp in Parker’s grip.
“Steady, sweetheart.” Parker chuckled as he easily took most of Josh’s weight to hold him upright. “How do you feel?”
“Pretty, um, good,” Josh answered, his voice rough with post-orgasmic tightness.
He turned around and timidly looked up at Parker. “Do you want me to...uh...?”
“I think we ought to clean up first.”
“Huh?” Bewildered, Josh looked around the kitchen he’d just cleaned so thoroughly.
“Not that,” Parker grinned. “This.” Holding up his hand, he showed Josh the creamy white cum on his fingers.
“Oh.” Josh turned almost crimson. “Oh, gosh, I’m sorry, I’ll just...” His eyed darted to and fro, frantically searching for a cloth.
“Just lick it off,” Parker suggested and brought his hand to Josh’s lips. Pulling a face, Josh turned his head away.
“Never sampled it?”
Josh looked appalled. “No, of course not.”
“Why not? It’s just spunk. There’s nothing wrong with it,” Parker teased.
“Because...well, you–you just don’t d–do that,” Josh answered a little helplessly. “Do you?” he added, almost as an afterthought.
“All right, baby.” Parker smiled reassuringly and shrugged, leaving the question unanswered. “Nothing you’re not comfortable with.” Turning away, he washed his hands in the sink. “I’d like to take you to bed now,” he said gently. “Is that okay for you?”

Tuesday Teaser - Siobhan Muir (guest)

Today's Tuesday Teaser is my guest Siobhan Muir. She's bringing some critters, so you better watch out! Give this lovely lady a warm welcome and show her some love by leaving a comment

Thank you so much for having me here today, Sage.
I love this time of year. The air turns crisp and cool, the leaves change, and it smells of fall. The world shifts toward slumber and goes out with a vibrant, colorful explosion of beauty before winter.
This is also the time of year the odd and interesting critters most often come out to play. No, I’m not talking about football, I’m talking about dragons, demons, vampires, goblins, and werewolves. At this time of year such creatures can blend more easily with the human population and we let them slide. Ah, must be a costume for Halloween, we say. :D
In my world, all these creatures exist and come to visit regularly. I’ve gotten used to my ménage of vampires dropping by to see how negotiations are going with one of the six Vampire Clans, and they maintain they won’t budge on their demands. Sigh. Vampires can be so stubborn. :D
Periodically, the Goblin King visits to make sure I understand I have to get his lady to agree to be his queen, but I keep telling him that’s his job. She’s in love with him, not me, and he has to learn to woo her. He tells me he has his hands full with his brother’s curse of Eternal Blue Balls and finding the mythical gryphons to do much wooing, but I think he’s just looking for excuses. Males of all kinds can be so jumpy.
This week, the SEALs stopped by to thank me for helping them rescue their wives, who’d been taken by terrorists (all in a day’s work, you know) and asked when I might find time to find type “THE END” on their tale. I told them I was working on it as fast as I could given the pair of dragons I have wrangling with a demon. I made sure to have the fire extinguisher close.
But the most recent visit I had was from a pair of twin werewolves who worked as a PI and a CSI, respectively, in Las Vegas. They’re trying to solve a murder that took place in Eve’s Paradise, a strip club near the Strip. Normally, murders aren’t that difficult for them to solve, given their superior speed, strength, olfactory skills, and hearing, but this killer is proving elusive, and it doesn’t help that they’re distracted by the owner of the club, Lady Aislynn. She’s a succubus and really doesn’t want the cops poking around her club. Especially, when the CSI has a bone deep hatred for all succubae.
These two brothers want Aislynn, but must walk a careful line between desire and duty. After all, most of their family is in law enforcement. Their sister is chief of security to Fredrick MacGregor, the hero of Her Devoted Vampire, and their older brother is the Sheriff of Hershell, Nevada, a little town just south of Callowwood, from Queen Bitch of the Callowwood Pack. Callowwood is an ordinary little town, with extraordinary residents, and Julianna Morris, the heroine from Queen Bitch of the Callowwood Pack, thought she knew everything there was to know about her home town.

Boy, did I have a surprise for her. Here’s the blurb:

Julianna Morris didn’t know werewolves existed…until she became one.

Hiding her new identity, Julianna returns home only to find her teenage crush, Jeff Lightfoot, is the future Alpha of the Callowwood werewolf pack. She’s unexpectedly chosen as a candidate for the pack’s next Luna, the Alpha female—and Jeff’s mate. This is perfect, except Julianna knows nothing about being a werewolf, and someone’s determined to make her fail the Seven Tests of the Luna.

Jeff Lightfoot lusted after Julianna for years, even when he thought she was human. Now she’s home and all his—if she passes the tests. She’s his True Mate and he wants no one else, but pack politics trump Mother Nature and will prevent him from choosing Julianna if she fails.

For the future she wants, Julianna must pass the tests to become Queen Bitch of Callowwood—or watch Jeff take another woman as his mate.

So I love this time of year, especially when the cool critters come out to play. If you want to find out more about the upcoming tales of the weird, the wild, & the wicked, stop by http://siobhanmuir.com and click on the WIP tab. Thanks for stopping by today, have a very happy autumn, and happy reading!

BIO:Siobhan Muir lives in Las Vegas, Nevada, with her husband, two daughters, and a vegetarian cat she swears is a shape-shifter, though he's never shifted when she can see him. When not writing, she can be found looking down a microscope at fossil fox teeth, pursuing her other love, paleontology. An avid reader of science fiction/fantasy, her husband gave her a paranormal romance for Christmas one year, and she was hooked for good. Who knew they combined sci-fi with romance? J She’s been writing stories and entertaining friends and family with her writing since she was a kid. She completed her first fan fiction novel at the age of 13. No, it will never see the light of day and everyone should be grateful for that.
Siobhan believes in happily ever after, redemption, and communication, all of which you will find in her paranormal romance stories.

Siobhan’s recent release, Queen Bitch of the Callowwood Pack, is from Siren Publishing, and she published Her Devoted Vampire with Evernight Publishing in February 2012.

Exclusive excerpt from "Yet More Ink, Sweat and Tears"

Happy Sunday, everyone!

Here's a little exclusive excerpt from "Yet More Ink, Sweat and Tears". It's part of Victoria Blisse's Sunday Snog, so don't forget to check out all the other sexy snogs on her blog when you're done here!

This scene finds Caelan and Dean on a well-deserved holiday to recover from everything they've been through, and well - lots of sunshine, the beach and some exercise quickly get them in the right mood - Enjoy!

Ignoring the comment, Dean reached for Caelan’s hand and pulled it up to his mouth. He kissed the tip of each finger before gently sucking them in. It was an easy enough distraction, and it didn’t fail to have its usual effect on Caelan. Breathing heavily, he watched Dean flick his tongue and nibble for a while before he said, “You know, we could go back to our room before dinner.”“Mmh, s’pose we could indeed,” Dean mumbled around his mouthful of slender, fine-boned fingers. “But I quite like it here.”“So I see,” Caelan said dryly. “It’s just that this bloody wet suit is way too tight for that kind of activity.”“What kind of activity?” Dean looked up innocently and nipped the fleshy bit at the base of Caelan’s thumb. “As if you didn’t know exactly what I’m talking about.” Caelan was clearly making an effort to keep his tone light and casual, but he was just as clearly losing the fight. The rough tinge of arousal had already crept into his voice, and the angle at which he held his leg was little befitting a comfortable position but reasonably effective for hiding the growing bulge at the front of his skin-tight wet suit. That problem had also been overcome, as a very delighted Dean had found out the night of their arrival. Dean wasn’t done playing yet, though. “Hmm, sorry, I’ve no idea.” He licked the satiny inside of Caelan’s wrist with his tongue, right above the spot where he could feel the vein throbbing underneath. He hovered over the pulsing patch of skin for a moment, feeling Caelan’s excited heartbeat under his lips. So strong, so very much alive. His thoughts trailed to that other part of Caelan’s anatomy, which must have been throbbing by now, and suddenly, he could barely hold back. He wanted Caelan, wanted him so badly it hurt. Talk about throbbing body parts. His own trousers had gone far too tight, and his cock fought its prison determinedly. “Let’s go,” he groaned. Caelan let out a throaty chuckle, having probably picked up on the urgency in Dean’s voice, but Dean couldn’t seem to care. So what if Caelan knew he was hot for him? Being desired wasn’t a bad thing, was it?
