Fandom Friday - Logan Movie Review

Last night I finally got a chance to see “Logan” with the hubster. The experience was a bittersweet one for me but also highly enjoyable.
Without question “Logan” is the Wolverine movie we die hard Wolvie fans have been waiting for. I’ve made no secret of the fact that previous Wolverine movies have been disappointing to say the least. I refuse to even discuss the catastrophe that was “Wolverine: Origins” because it infuriates my Wolvie fan girl and my Deadpool fan girl. When those two are mad it’s not pretty. The only one who has a chance of talking them down is my Iron Man fan girl, but she generally just pours herself a martini and sits back to watch the carnage while tossing bon mots.
First off let me give some big thanks to the powers to be for giving “Logan” an R rating. They all should have been rated R if you ask me. Much like Deadpool, Wolverine works best when you let him off his leash. If you dull his claws – or curb Wade’s mouth – you have a sickly, watered down version of the comic character. Yes, I know… the kids.
Well, sometimes the kids may just need to sit out a flick or two. They can watch Cap correcting people about language and let us grown-ups have the bad ass boys. You know, the ones who cuss, drink, slice and dice, and have gritty sex. My kind of Marvel men. If only we could lure Tony into the mature side of things… *fades off while remembering Ultimate Iron Man and the Tony/Tasha sex tape panels*
Ahem…yes. Back to Wolverine.
So, we had a bloody, gory mess with lots of swearing and Hugh looking ragged, sickly, and kind of old but still sexy as hell. Patrick Stewart was incredible. Simply incredible. I’m not going to spoil for those who might not have seen it yet, but this was by far the best Professor X we’ve ever had from Mr. Stewart. I will cop to the fact that I’ve never been the biggest X-23 fan. I don’t hate her but she’s never appealed to me as Logan has over the years. This movie has made me like Laura much more than I did, and the child who portrayed her did an excellent job in the role.
It’s just a wonderful movie from top to bottom. Lots of action, superb acting, drama and emotion, a compelling plot, and some beautiful locations and cinematography. I will sorely miss Hugh Jackman as Wolverine. I don't fault him with the flops that some of the Wolverine films were. That fault lies with the scripts and those who penned them. Hugh has been a wonderful James Howlett. I’m not sure who – if anyone – they plan to bring in to play Logan in future films, but whoever it is will have some damn big claw marks to fill.

Launching the new series with Mario and Lila just felt right. They'd been a large part of Vic and Dan's trilogy and have acquired quite a few fans along the way. Also, if I'd have started the series with any couple other than Lila and Mario there may have been a revolt! *winks*
So, here's the stunning cover for Snap Shot. Below you can find the Goodreads link. There will be no preorders for this book, so you'll want to make sure you circle 4/6 on the calendar so you can grab your copy!

BLURB--
Mario McGarrity has been around the block – and rink – more than a few times.
He’s creeping up on retirement age, has some dings and dents, and says what’s on his mind. Not exactly what most would consider a luxury ride, but his beautiful Lila - the transgender woman who stole his heart - loves him like no other woman ever has despite a little rust here and there.
Everything is good - no, great - aside from the distance issue, until a surprise from Lila’s past crops up and moves in with her. Can Mario be the family man that Lila needs, or is this one game the old vet is unable to skate in?

Tuesday Tales - Air
It's time for Tuesday Tales!

Welcome back! “Air” is our word this week. Since the collaboration novel with Rj Scott is now done, I’m kicking off a new book, Flow, which will be book #5 in the Venom series. In this M/F hockey romance, we’ll get to see the relationship between the Venom goalie coach, Alice Dunlop, and retired Wildcats D-man Bruno Bonbano grow as well as follow the team into their first run at the NAWHL playoffs.
In today’s post, Alice and Bruno have a possible morning nookie session interrupted by an old friend.
This story may have erotic scenes, strong social issues addressed and crude language, these are hockey players after all. If those things offend now is the time to move onto another Tuesday Tales blog. Thanks for stopping by!

“Are he and Viviana staying here for the summer then?” I asked while kicking off the covers and burrowing around in the clothes piled in a nicely stuffed chair for my robe. Thank God for room service and hotel laundry. Bigglestrap knocked again. I hurried to pull the quilted belt attached to my robe from the mound of dirty clothing.
“Don’t know yet. Probably.” Bruno padded past the door, turned the knob, and flung it open. I spun around and shoved my arms into the robe, bitching at Bruno all the while. “Morning, Biggie,” Bruno grunted before closing the bathroom door behind his tight ass.
“Yes, well, good morning to you as well, Mr. Bonbano. Ms. Dunlop, you’re a vision as always.” The resident manager said then stepped into my room. Rick, the bellhop who always brings my breakfast scurried into my suite, parked the trolley, tapped his hat, and then hustled out.
“And you, Sergeant Major, are full of shit. Thank you.” I took the neatly folded daily from him then lifted a few lids off the servers. Eggs, bacon, toast, coffee, and orange juice. “Looks delicious. Anything new in this?” I shook the paper before pouring myself a cup of coffee. The thin man in the black suit shook his neatly-combed head. Jane had once commented that you could plumb a house with Bigglestrap’s part and she was right. I often wondered if he used a ruler to ensure his dark hair was parted correctly.
“No, nothing of great interest. The mayor is talking about a summer fest which could be rather refreshing. Let’s hope he doesn’t invite that tawdry chit who won that last talent show the radio station that employs Ms. West ran. I’ve heard more melodious tunes coming from my parrot, Joffrey.”
He moved around the suite with an air of professional confidence opening draperies as he chatted. Why he – the resident manager – came to my room every day like this was anyone’s guess. Bruno said he thought Biggie, a nickname that Bruno had picked up from Jane, had a crush on me. I thought that was utter horseshit and had told Bruno that. Still, his coming here every morning was a bit odd but welcome just the same. I liked him and I loved his hotel. Renting a suite here was perfect. Month to month commitment. No roots to hold me in this city if the skyscrapers began to capture the dark memories of my lost son.
“Oh! And there’s a lovely article about the Venom on the front of the sports page. Seems your women making it into the playoffs while the Wildcats didn’t is setting off the wagging tongues.”
“I figured that would twist a few panties,” I commented then took a sip of the hotel’s amazing coffee.

Softball Meets Hockey
There’s always a sort of camaraderie among athletes. When you add in the factor that the athletes in question are women, the bond grows. So even if there’s a softball player and a hockey player, you can bet cash money that those two athletes are going to find a few common chords. With this in mind, Jean Joachim, author of the First & Ten football series, and the new Bottom of the Ninth baseball books, and I thought we’d bring two of our women athlete’s together.
Jean has brought Dusty Carmichael, who stars in Matt Jackson, Catcher, and I’ve brought Stephanie Huschuk, starting goalie for the Philadelphia Venom and leading lady from Angle Play, Venom #4. The New York Queens were gracious enough to send the Venom tickets to an early season game in Warminster. The women of the Venom enjoyed themselves and after the Queens game, Steph and Dusty headed to the Black Boar Inn to have a few beers, grab a bite, and talk about the difficulties and joys of being a woman in professional sports.
*~*~*
(We open with Dusty and Steph at the bar inside the famous Philadelphia sports bar. Two men are seated close to the women as they place their order. It’s obvious that the two gents are more than a little soused)
Dusty- “Hey, Pete! Can I get four more beers?”
The bartender nods. “I’ll bring them over to the Venom tables.”
Dusty – “Thanks.”
Don – “Hey ladies, this is my buddy Bob and I’m Don. You two looking for a good time?”
Steph – “He smells like he’s had enough good time to last him a week.” *waves her hand in front of her face*
Bob- *snickers* What's the matter, too tired after your badass game to carry a couple of friggin' beers?
Don- “Probably afraid that they'll break a nail.”
Dusty – “Who the hell asked you, dickwad?”
Bob- “- Oooh, look out the lady swears!”
Steph – “Wow, do we really have to do this kind of stuff here in a sports bar? Why don't you guys go sit back down and we'll send you a beer?”
Dusty –“Hey, Steph, got an extra puck? Jam one in this idiot's mouth, would ya?”
Bob – “You gonna pay for it, too? With those millions you make playing sissy hockey for girls?”
Steph – “I have a spare stick we can jam somewhere...”
*Dusty laughs*

Don- “If you had balls to back that threat up I'd be scared.”
Dusty - *looks down at Don* “He probably doesn’t have any either!”
Don – “Wouldn't you like to find out?”
Dusty – “Wouldn't you like to have a softball crammed up your butt?”
Bob – “Lie down, honey, I'll show you who has—“
Steph-“Okay, let's all just take a breather here before you get tossed out on your ass.”
Don- “Who's going to throw us out? You? Pft!” *has trouble blowing raspberry*
Dusty – “Don't tempt me.”
Bob –“Ooooooo, a couple of badass girl athlete wannabe's. Don't make me laugh.”
Steph – “I'm pretty sure Dusty and I could handle it but since we don't want to get cooties we'll just let the bartenders escort you out.”
Dusty – “Yeah. Why waste muscle on these jokers? They're not worth it. Probably flunked gym in school, too.”
Steph- “And rudimentary English. Come on.” *nudges Dusty back to the table*
Bob – “Hey! Where you goin'?”
Dusty –“To sit with real people, intelligent people. Great athletes instead of two losers.”
Bob – “Who you calling a loser?” *slides off barstool*
Steph – “Whoa okay, let's just sit back down. Come on, yunz don't want to have management called in. *waves at Pete* I mean, you two wouldn't really do well in a tussle with the Wildcats."
Bob – “But you're not the Wildcats. You're the pussies.”
Steph – “Yeah, okay, that's enough.” *waves at the doorman*
Dusty – “Don't want to get my hands dirty. But I do have a baseball bat. Probably just the right fit for an asshole like you.”
Steph –“ And welcome to Sexism in Sports and America 101.”
*the women walk back to their table by the stage and sit down*
Steph – “Do you see a lot of that kind of stuff in softball? People hating on you for ‘playing a man's game’ and that kind of crap?”
Dusty-“We sure do. People say, "softball? That's a kid's game." *shakes her head*
Steph – “Ugh. I hate that. We get lots of crap too.”
Dusty - "Hard to get people to show up to the games. We run a deficit every year."
Steph – “Lots of fans - well male fans - think we're not really hockey players because our games aren't as physical as the men's are at times.”
Dusty – “Same here.”
Steph – “The barn is rarely full for our games.” *sighs*
Dusty – “Us, too.”
Steph- “And it sucks, you know? Because we play just as hard and have the same skills as the men.” *takes a sip of beer*
Dusty-“We sure do. We have to train harder. Some of our girls got into the sport later, you know in high school, whereas the guys have been playing since they were six. And we don't do it full time. I know you do. That must make a huge difference.”
Steph – “Yeah, coming into the sport later must make it harder. We're lucky in that our league is one of the few pro women's leagues that is managing to keep its head above water...at the moment. With ticket sales low, I'm not sure how long we'll be able to keep the league up and that really sucks. There are so many girls who want to play hockey now.”
Dusty – “We only play for three months. And can't practice outside for about four or five. It hurts us not to be in better shape and play longer.”
Steph – “That must be tough.”
Dusty – “That's great that girls want to play hockey. Not too many know about our pro softball league. But we’ve grown since I started.”
Steph – “Yeah. It's hard. I wish more people would come out for women's sports. I don't buy that crud that we're not as exciting as the men. I know we sure work as hard as the guys do.”
Dusty – “Neither do I. We play our hearts out, every game. And things get tense. Games get close. Anything can happen, just like in pro baseball.”
Steph – “Exactly! Ugh, drives me crazy sometimes.” *sighs and takes a drink of her beer*
Dusty – “I've been playing for five years. Things are getting better, but it's slow.”
*Dusty raises her glass*

Steph – “That's a good long time. Do you have a lot of time on the road?”
Dusty – During our three months, we play every day and travel a lot. But not far away. Our league is the mid-atlantic. So the trips are short. Thank God. I don't know how we'd do it if we had to go to like, San Francisco. Never happen. No money for planes.”
Steph – “Oh my gosh, we have the same jet issue! The Wildcats have a charter jet but we Venom are doing the train or bus thing. Takes forever to get to some of our games along the east coast. Travelling sucks too at times. Do you have a guy or gal at home?”
Dusty – “I do. Matt Jackson, catcher for the Nighthawks. How about you?”
Steph – “Oh ho, a ballplayer. Nice! Does that make it easier with him being an athlete too? I have a boyfriend, Greg, who's a professor at Temple. Having to go off and leave him all the time is terrible. There are women on my team with kids and husbands. I don't know how they do it. Love of the sport I guess.” *tosses a cashew into her mouth*
Dusty – “I know what you mean. Sometimes we're both on the road at the same time. It's hell. I'm hungry. Let's get food.” *Dusty finishes her beer*
Steph – “I bet. Like he's out west and you’re in Poughkeepsie or something. That sounds good. I'd love some pure junk. Greasy, cheesy stuff. Mmmmmm.”
Dusty – “You got it. Exactly. But there's something incredible about the homecomings. If you get my meaning.” *Dusty snickers and wiggles her eyebrows*.
Steph – “Homecomings are the best.” *winks*
*Dusty laughs and waves for server. She orders a burger with fried onions and sweet potato fries.*Steph –“I’ll have a swiss burger with a side of curly fries.”
The server hustles back to the busy kitchen.
Steph – “So tell me more about your guy, Dusty. What do you do you and him do for fun when you're not on the road? Well, aside from fun in bed of course.”
Dusty - *blushes* “Well, he's in the business, so-to-speak. A lot of our free time is spent talking baseball, watching games and doing that shit. What about you?”
Steph – “That must be nice to have a boyfriend who's in the game. He really gets the stress of travelling and leaving someone you care about behind. Greg and I are really pretty much homebodies. When we do go out its to the philharmonic or dinner somewhere. We both love classical music. And he’s a professor so a lot of his time is chewed up with university stuff and meetings. It's not easy to find time for just us, you know?”
Dusty – “Do I know? If I'm not traveling, Matt is. It's depressing on season. Sometimes, I can go with him. Fortunately I have a short season. I work in an office the rest of the time. So I'm home at night. When he's home, yeah, we're homebodies. Maybe catch a movie. Or watch it on his big screen. We hang out a lot with his teammates.”
Steph – “That sounds like so many of my teammates as well. When you're on the road so much you just really want to den up when you're home. What's your favorite thing about being a pro athlete?”
Dusty – “Hard to say. I like the competition. But I've always been an outdoors girl. I was a tomboy when I was little, tagging along after the guys. Fell in love with baseball and watched the high school boys play all the time. So I thought I'd try it. How about you?”
Steph – “That's awesome! I've been in hockey since I was little. We didn't have much growing up and I think I kind of knew that hockey would be my only way out of the little coal town outside ‘The Burgh’ where I was born. I really enjoy the competition as well and the camaraderie. Okay, so flip the question. What's your least favorite thing about being an pro athlete?”
Dusty – “Losing my family. I mean, they're still there. But we don't talk much. They tried hard to talk me out of playing pro ball. They said taking off 3 or 4 months would keep me from advancing and making more money. They were totally right, but I didn't care. So I did it anyway. They don't approve. Sure, I was broke all the time, shared a place with three other women, but I loved what I was doing. I'm a starting pitcher now. And I have Matt. I never would’ve met him, except for softball. I'm sorry they feel like that, but I've gotta be who I am. How about you?”
Steph – “Oh wow. That's so sad and so amazing all at once. *grabs Dusty's hand and squeezes it* I've had to make some really hard decisions about my life and what I want from it. I'm not going to go into details but I've given up some huge things to pursue my dream of being starting goalie for the Venom. Right now playing hockey is my everything and my family and Greg understand that. Thank God Greg does because we've given up so, SO much for the sport. I don't think fans realize just how much we sacrifice for our sport at times. *sighs* Wow, that went off to a sad place. Let's find something happier to talk about while we eat.”
The women sit back as the food arrives.
Steph – “This looks great! So what do you want to talk about over burgers? Sports or men?”
Dusty – “Sex! We're going to the Caribbean for a week during off season. I'm hoping to get one of those places with a private mini pool. *Wiggles eyebrows*. I know this is personal, but do you ever do it in, like, unusual places?”
Steph – “Sex and burgers! That's a great combo. Oh man the Caribbean sounds incredible. I'm envious. Well, one time... *peeks over shoulder to make sure no one is listening* Greg and I might have sneaked into a closet at the philharmonic and had an overture of our own. But that's just between you and me.”
Dusty – “Oh, wow! My lips are sealed. Matt and I have never done anything that bold. I bet it was great, too. Wasn't it?”
Steph – “I never had either! It was super-hot and totally erotic. Thank God no one walked in or I would have died of embarrassment. Oh man, look at all this food. We're going to have to do double time on the bikes tomorrow to burn it off. *grabs beer* How about a toast before we dig in? To women in sports. We ROCK!”
Dusty *lifts beer mug* “We certainly do! To women in sports...and chocolate lava cake!”The girls toast each other and dive in to enjoy the fine food and their new friendship.

Author/Book Spotlight - Misty Harvey's Malevolent Mind
Thank you Vicki for taking the time to share in Malevolent Mind’s cover reveal. This book has been a lot of fun for me to write and I hope in turn that readers will enjoy it as much as I have.
Hello, Readers!
Thank you for taking your time today to stop by to read about my novel and partake in the cover reveal. This novel has truly been a labor of nightmares. I mean that in the best possible way. Raven’s revenge certainly came straight from those sleep-filled nights. There are pieces that are intricately woven into the story line that I’d conjured up to terrify myself awake. Thank you again for that subconscious. Still, there was something so intriguing about the characters in this novel that I had to write their story. After a nice talk with my editor I came to realize that there are bits of me woven into each one of them. From Heath and his childhood antics of writing stories to scare others, to Raven and her wild dreams to visit haunted places around the world. Even Kade holds parts of me as well.As a young child my nephew and I used to write these grand tails to tell our younger siblings. We’d try to make them as scary as possible. Being the young, inventive things we were back then we weren’t going to leave anything up to chance. We would take them into the basement, in one of the backrooms and read the scary tales to them. Just as we’d get to the climatic part of the bit we were reading we’d haul our behinds through the basement, flipping off lights as quickly as possible to leave them alone down there in the dark. While we were busy laughing so hard we couldn’t breathe our parents were right there, ready to ground us. Still, it didn’t matter how many times we did that to them they kept returning to listen to more of the story. We knew we were onto something when it even managed to scare us. These things continued to stick with me as I grew up. I wove these stories trying to scare me and others around me. Sometimes I succeed and sometimes I don’t. Still, I will continue to create these tails where I not only get to frighten others and myself, but it’ll give me a chance to delve into the psychological aspects that come with such things. I can’t wait to release more novels in the future for readers to enjoy. I hope you will all take time to enjoy the excerpt that I’ve chosen from Malevolent Mind and will keep your eyes open for its release on March 16th.

Malevolent MindHorror
Blurb:
A story so dark, twisted and unfinished has a way of driving the sanest to the brink of insanity.
Between the constant state of bullying from Heath and his friends, and the unrest of not knowing what happened to her twin, Raven seeks revenge. Years later, she becomes the nanny for Heath’s young son, Kade. She helps him start a horror story with the plan to bring the horrible creature Kade created into the real world to torment Heath and his friends. It was perfect, until everything began unraveling. When Kade’s creation no longer wishes to do Raven’s bidding, it becomes a fight for life or death. The only way to survive is to figure out how to finish off the creature before she finds her freedom. Will Kade find a way to stop the creation of his malevolent mind? Or will Raven’s revenge consume them all?
Excerpt:
Kade sat there in the middle of the room. He pulled his legs up against his chest, wrapping his arms around them. There was nothing to see now that his head cowered there in the darkness of his own lap. If tonight was the night that he’d die, he wasn’t so sure he’d want to see either of the girls coming for him. His ears perked up. Behind him came the sound of rustling clothes. He lifted his head, unable to keep it down. It was just his imagination. That was all.The feel of icy breath slid over the back of his neck. Each tiny hair stood at attention as the stench of decay washed over him. Was it the girl from the river or was it Zilla? Kade flipped onto his knees, the beam of the flashlight straight forward. There, inches from his face, was Zilla. She stared at him. Her mouth was open at an angle as her tongue flicked out against the air. It was too late to run anywhere. Death stared him right in the face. Part of him felt relief that it was only her. Of course, that was if the other one wasn’t waiting for him as well. He didn’t dare move the flashlight beam to find out. Zilla had appeared out of nowhere so who knew what would happen once the light wasn’t on her? Kade watched as her blue-tinged hand reached up for him. She held her hand for him to take. Something told him that doing so would be the end of him. Panic gripped his insides and he knew he had moments to make the first move. If he didn’t react soon, she’d overpower him.He swung out with the flashlight, catching her on the side of the head. Her body rolled across the floor with a sickening thud. Kade was sure that the magnum flashlight had cracked her skull. It had nearly broken his foot when he'd dropped it one time. He jumped across his bed, darting into the hallway. His gaze moved around the hall as he tried to make out anything. The sound of her rapidly skittering toward him had him running down the hallway. He stopped at Raven’s door, trying her handle, but the door wouldn’t budge. Instead, the old wood rattled in the frame. In a flash of lightning, he watched Zilla skitter into the hall on her hands and feet, her body parallel to the floor as she let out a sickening hiss. Half her head remained dented in from where he’d clocked her with the flashlight. It was a terrifying image to behold. The fact that she continued to chase him regardless turned his stomach. Kade looked back only briefly before he ran. She was close on his heels. In the distance, he could just make out his father’s door. His bare feet padded against the wood flooring. Goosebumps raced up his spine as her icy fingers wrapped around his ankle. The weight of his body hit the floor with a loud thud. His head bounced against the hard surface blurring his vision. Tears filled his eyes making it even harder to see. At least now, he wouldn’t have to worry about seeing his death coming. The cold sensation crept up his leg, over his knee and toward his waist. He could feel the weight of her above him as she crawled up his body. Time slowed so that each second felt like eons. The stench of her undead body burned at his nostrils. Kade gagged on the smell that was so strong he could almost taste it.He didn’t want to die. Life was too short for him. There was still so much that he wanted to do. Besides, he wasn’t sure who would take care of his father if he wasn’t there any longer. That thought rolled inside of him. He wasn’t going to go out like this, a cowering lump of fear on the floor. If she wanted to kill him, she’d have to fight a lot harder for it.Kade grabbed her arms, rolling them over as he kicked out with both his legs. Her body smashed into the wall across from them, freeing him to run. He scrambled onto his feet, darting for his father’s room. The bright light blinded him as he ran for it. That was it. He’d found his end and now he was headed into the light. Just as he’d read in another book. It was his time to cross over.

Misty Harvey loves writing spine-tingling horror novels sure to thrill readers. The psychology behind such tales has always been a fascination for her since she was younger. Even to the point that she once contemplated taking up psychology as a profession. Still, her love resides in the art of storytelling. An art she wishes to continue to share with readers for the rest of her days.
After climbing out of her writing cave and searching the house for the sound of the latest creak or pop, Misty can be found doing one of many things. Often times she spends the remained of her day with her amazingly supportive husband and youngest daughter. While she has two older children that are out there spreading their wings around the world, including giving her a few grandchildren.
Her favorite things to do when not writing are crafts, wrestling with her dog, avoiding her cat’s bite or generally making her husband and daughter crazy. Often times she can be found creating vivid tales with her daughter about whatever mundane thing happened in their day and turning it into a crazy story. She is also an avid gamer, crochet goddess (we shall pretend there), domestic queen, and animal tamer (it’s a work in progress).

Tuesday Tales - Picture Prompt
It`s time for Tuesday Tales.

Welcome back! Rj Scott and I are still working away on Changing Lines, our M/M hockey collaboration novel. We’re both quite excited to be working on this series of M/M hockey romances. It should be a fun, sexy, and romantic group of books and I cannot wait to share some snippets with you!
This week is our picture prompt week and all posts must be 300 words or under and reflect the chosen image. In this snippet, we’ll get a wee bit of spicy stuff in the bedroom. *wink*This story will have same sex moments, strong social issues addressed and crude language, these are hockey players after all. If those things offend now is the time to move onto another Tuesday Tales blog. Thanks for stopping by!

Mads picked up my bag then offered me his hand. For some reason, after all the time spent pitching myself around because of lack of sex, now that he was waiting for me to take his hand to go have sex, I was feeling stupid and shy. He arched a brow.
“If you’re not ready, Ten, that’s fine.”
“No, I’m ready.” I placed my hand into his. My heart started dancing irregularly. “Are you kidding? I’ve been ready for weeks. Months.”
“There’s a difference between being physically ready and mentally ready.” We stood in his tidy living room – which had all kinds of furnishings – holding hands while he tried to feel me out. “Are you sure you’re mentally ready?”
“I’m sure.” I stepped into him and kissed him with all I had, our clasped hands pinned between his chest and mine. When we broke apart I found his gaze resting on me. “I’m so sure. I want you inside me.”
“Dear God, Tennant,” he sighed, took a light kiss, and then led me to his bedroom. It was a nice room. Filled with a dresser and a neatly made bed. I’d been in it at least two dozen times but now that we were getting down to more than humping each other or touching each other’s dicks through our underwear, the room seemed bigger, the bed enormous. Hell, my lover suddenly seemed to have grown a foot or two. “You look like you’re ready to run.”
“I’m feeling stupid and small.” He released my hand then placed my overnight bag beside the light oaken dresser. “Okay, so I’ve sucked lots of dick, right?” My nerves were jangling. Mads nodded. “So, I’m good with that. But the other stuff…”

Fandom Friday - Who Should be the New Doctor Who
That seems to be the big discussion in the Whovian world of late so I thought I’d toss my two pennies into the conversation. For those who aren’t following all the Dr. Who/ Torchwood pages on Facebook like a certain person I know *looks in mirror* let me give just a little background on the topic.

Oh, about a month or so ago, Peter Capaldi, who plays the current Doctor, announced that this season would be his last piloting the TARDIS. As you can imagine the internet has been aflutter with all sorts of theories, suppositions, guesses, and sometimes downright nastiness over the incoming number thirteen. As you can also imagine there are the fans who are dead set against a woman taking the role.
The loud, angry ones don’t seem to mind as much if a black man would get the nod but a woman seems to really set them off. This is not surprising. Just take a look at any TV or movie role where a woman is cast as the lead in what has been a predominately male genre. You don’t have to dig too hard. The uproar over the last two Star Wars movies shows us that there are some really insecure and frightened dudes out there.
I’ve read articles stating that it’s time – actually beyond time – for the show to have a person of color or a woman as the lead. The show has been airing for over fifty years and in all that time a white man has played the role. Why not a woman? There is precedence for a female Time Lord. Just look at Master/Missy and you’ll see that those folks from Gallifrey can swap genders.

So, since we know that Time Lords can regenerate as either sex, why not have a woman as the next Doctor? Or a man of color? I’m firmly behind either as long as the actor/actress chosen is right for the role. That’s very important. Simply picking a woman because she’s a woman won’t work. If the next Doctor is to be a woman or person of color they have to be perfect for the part.
Casting is going to be hugely important. Personally, I hope they choose an unknown actor/actress who will make the role his/hers. What plumbing they have is secondary as long as they love the world and the lore of Doctor Who as much as the fandom does. If the powers-to-be do this – choose the incoming actor/actress by suitability - then whoever is the next Doctor will be setting off on their time travels on the right foot…or with the right sonic screwdriver in hand. Whichever tickles your time traveling fancy!

Tuesday Tales - Love
It`s time for Tuesday Tales.

Welcome back! “Love” is our word this week. Rj Scott and I are still working away on Changing Lines, our M/M hockey collaboration novel. We’re both quite excited to be working on this series of M/M hockey romances. It should be a fun, sexy, and romantic group of books and I cannot wait to share some snippets with you!
In this excerpt, Tennant and Jared run into each other after some on-ice testing in the morning. I think we can safely say that Ten is smitten with the older man.
This story will have same sex moments, strong social issues addressed and crude language, these are hockey players after all. If those things offend now is the time to move onto another Tuesday Tales blog. Thanks for stopping by!

“Right, water.” I shot up and hustled into the kitchen. When I returned with two tall glasses of ice water, Mads had gotten his clothing back in place and was flipping through one of the sheet music books that had come with my new used piano. The cubes in the glass clinked against the sides. He glanced up at me standing there staring at him. I held out a glass of ice water. He put the book in front of the other one resting on the music rack. “I didn’t have any lemon or flavoring so it’s just plain Harrisburg city water.”
“Yum,” Mads joked as he took the glass. I sat back down on his left and sipped at my chemical-rich water. Mads took a sip, made a face, and then gently placed his water on the floor by his feet. “When I was a kid we used to go to this lodge up in Chicopee to ski. Along one of the slopes someone – years ago – had run a pipe back into the mountain and fresh spring water ran from that pipe all year round. I’d always stop and drink from it. It was so cold it would make your head hurt like ice cream.” I nodded. “That was the best water I’ve ever tasted.”
“Maybe when you retire for good you should move back to Chicopee and have that water every day,” I offered because he was sounding kind of wistful.
“Maybe I will. So, how are you feeling about things?” Shit. He spun that back around to me fast. I glanced at the sheet music book. It was a Disney one. A few quiet seconds turned into several awkwardly quiet moments. Mads shifted around on the bench. The time had come for me to reply but I didn’t know what to say. Lying seemed shitty. Telling more lies, that is. But admitting to him that my feelings were all over the place when he was near didn’t seem like the way to go. “Ten, if you don’t want to talk about it, that’s fine.”
“It is?” I stared at the cubes in my water. They had tiny little air bubbles frozen in them. That was sort of how I felt. Like I had things trapped inside.
“It is completely fine. Why don’t you play me a song?” His request brought my head up and my eyes from my cubes. He was smiling again. Why did he do that? Didn’t he know he was deadly lethal to any man when he smiled? “You do play. I heard you rocking out in here. I’d forgotten that you did to be honest. Brady plays guitar, right?”
The last person I wanted to talk about was Brady. “Uh, okay.” I bent to the side to put my glass of water on the floor. “What song do you want to hear? I’m kind of rusty, which is why I got the scales and arpeggios comment from my mother.”
“And I thought only aristocratic cats did those.”
“Okay, now that one I get,” I chuckled as he reached for the Disney sheet music book.
“And we thought we’d never find anything in common aside from hockey,” he joked and flipped to a random page then plunked the book back into the rack. “Play this one.”
I glanced at the title. Wow. This hardly seemed like the kind of song I should be playing with his hip keeping mine warm. Then again it had gotten Simba some face rubbing. I’d take a face rub with Mads. Whiskers on whiskers… oh man…
“Okay.” Playing seemed less dangerous than thinking about his whiskers.
“Are there words?” He asked after I played a few notes.
“Yeah, they’re just not on the sheet music. You want the words?”
“Do you know them?” He seemed really into this for some reason.
“Dude, I grew up with Sir Elton John’s biggest fan. I could sing this in my sleep.”
That made his smile wider. Yep, I was going to melt and all those stupid fizzy bubbles trapped inside me were going to float free. Instead of liquefying all over the man, I took a breath in through my nose, let it out the same way, and began playing and singing “Can You Feel the Love Tonight” for him. When the last note faded, I shook off the hold that playing held me in and chanced a peek to my side. Mads looked spellbound or something.
“I told you my finger work was a little weak.” He needed to say something because I was getting majorly self-conscious. Mads blinked and then leaned in to press his lips to mine. It was a chaste kiss but it nearly knocked me backward off the bench.
