Tuesday Tales - Picture Prompt
It’s time for Tuesday Tales!

Welcome back! This week is our picture prompt week and all posts must be 300 words or under and reflect the chosen image. Today we have a snippet from my secret NANOWRIMO project. I can’t reveal much about this story as it will ruin the ending of Tales of Bryant, but I can say it’s a sequel to Isamu and Brian’s short tales in the Bryant collection, which is coming out April 10, 2019. But that’s all I’m saying. *zips lips*

I glanced at my watch again as Brian dicked round looking at cheeses. Did he not recall that we had to be at JFK at 9:47 sharp to pick up Baba? That we’d even pulled into this high-priced cheese shop on the way to the airport had set my teeth grinding. Baba was not keen on waiting. She felt it was greatly disrespectful to be late, and I kind of agreed. Also, God knows what kind of trouble a tiny old woman from Japan could get into if left alone to wander through JFK.
“Why are we buying brie?” I snapped. He threw a chilly look my way and resumed speaking to the cheese seller. I threw my hands into the air and was about to channel Adrian when Brian whispered beside my ear.
“We’re buying cheese to serve with the artisan crackers and wine when we get your grandmother home. Why are you being so melodramatic?"
I choked on my outrage and then sulked in line until all the cheeses were purchased and wrapped in some sort of designer burlap. Why cheese in burlap? Upscale Manhattan stores did the oddest things sometimes.
Brian tugged open the door of the waiting limo he’d borrowed from his company’s fleet. The warm summer air pulled at his soft brown hair. I flounced inside, sat down, and crossed my arms and legs. He placed the green-and-white checkered tote on the floor beside his sandals and told the driver to continue on his way to the airport.
“Why are you in such a mood?” he finally asked after I’d worn out my pout.
“You have no idea how critical my grandmother is.”
Thanks so much for dropping by!

Tuesday Tales
It`s time for Tuesday Tales!

Today we have a snippet from Hat Trick, a Railers novella written with RJ Scott. Hat Trick is one of two novellas I’m working on for NaNoWriMo this year, the other one has to be a secret for a little while longer. In today’s snippet Stan gets a phone call that will forever change his and Erik’s lives.
Our word prompt today is “Suddenly.” As this is an unedited slice of work, there may be errors here and there. Be kind if you stumble across any.
This story may have gay erotic scenes, strong social issues addressed and mature language. If those things offend now is the time to move onto another Tuesday Tales blog. Thanks for stopping by!

Funny how a man’s life can change with just one phone call. I’d been sleeping soundly that night the news had come, Erik in my arms, our bodies tacky with sweat and semen. My eyes felt as if they had just closed when Elvis suddenly started singing ‘Hound Dog’ over and over. I had found a new ringtone app called ‘Elvis Ringtones’ and picked a new one every week. Elvis had released many, many songs so I could have a new ringtone whenever I wished. That night, it was ‘Hound Dog’ and it played repeatedly. Erik slid over me, mumbling, and grabbed my phone off my nightstand.
“It’s for you. Someone saying something in Russian,” he grumbled. I slung an arm over his back to keep his belly pressed to mine. He let his head drop to my shoulder and his leg shimmy between my thighs. ‘Perfection’ I remember thinking before I put the cell to my ear and everything went upside-down and inside and out. Is there an ‘and’ in that saying? I shook my head. No, I didn’t think so. Inside out. Yes, inside out is right. So yes, the call had come through, the line raspy with static as the service in the small town I had grown up in wasn’t good.

Halloween Scare Trail Blog Hop
Hello and welcome to the Halloween Scare Trail Blog Hop!

Is this event great or what? Fifteen authors offering fifteen prizes. Talk about spooktacular! For those who aren't familiar with me I'll take just a second to introduce myself...
I live in the mountains of Pennsylvania on a small hobby farm with my husband of 27 years, my daughter, one dog, two cats, two Jersey steers, a flock of chickens, and a pair of geese. When I’m not writing I can be found watching hockey – LET’S GO RANGERS!! – geeking out over Dr. Who and Torchwood, reading Marvel comics, doing yoga, and drinking coffee.
I write under the super-secret (it’s not at all secret everyone and their llama knows who I am) penname V.L. Locey and my books are predominately MM hockey because it’s the genre of my heart, but I do dabble in non-sporty contemporary books as well as paranormal MM romance.

Isn't this time of year the perfect segue into a monster movie/paranormal romance chat?
I’ve always loved Halloween, even as a child it was my favorite holiday. Partly because of the candy, but also because of the awesome horror movies they’d play on TV leading up to Halloween. There were all those old classic films such as The Mummy, Dracula, The Creature from the Black Lagoon, and my all-time top monster, The Wolfman played by Lon Chaney Jr.! There was always some kind of fascination for me with people who could shift into animals even way back when.
I still carry that love of shapeshifters with me and was thrilled to be able to pen a short series of MM shifter novellas later in life. My Lake Erie shifter novellas have been a wonderful excursion from my usual hockey romances. They’re full of magical beings such as skunk and wolf shifters, witches, elves, vampires, and evil mages called the Elder Council. If you’re a fan of MM paranormal romance, feel free to check out “An Erie Collection”, available now on all major book retailers sites—

You can now have all four of the Lake Erie pack novellas in this one reasonably priced collection! Included in the set are the previously released novellas: An Erie Halloween, An Erie Operetta, and An Erie Garden Party. To round off this whimsical and romantic shifter set is a brand-new novella, An Erie Uprising!
It’s been one wonderfully romantic year since skunk shifter Templeton Reed met Mikel Lupei, the alpha wolf of the Lake Erie pack. During that year, the two men fell in love and worked side-by-side to solve some tricky murder mysteries. They also opened up Lupei Manor, Mikel’s familial home, to other LGBTQ mystical beings in the Erie area. Sadly, being gay in the supernatural world Templeton and Mikel live in can be a death sentence.
During the past year, the magical world has slowly been coming unraveled. Civil unrest now runs rampant through the community as the lesser breeds revolt against the hateful dictates of the Elder Council. The uprising will surely touch every person residing in the magical world near Lake Erie. Will the flames of unrest and war consume everything and everyone Templeton and Mikel hold dear as well?

Tuesday Tales - Picture Prompt
It’s time for Tuesday Tales!

Welcome back! This week is our picture prompt week and all posts must be 300 words or under and reflect the chosen image. Today we have a snippet from One-on-One, Cayuga Cougars #5. In this short snippet Lancaster is attending his very first pride event.

Jack had decided to sit on my lap while he was eating the rest of my sandwich. His father stood behind us, sippy cup in hand, red ball cap that read “Make America Bi Again” on his head, his hand down the front of Dan’s shirt a bit. Everyone was so demonstrative. I wished I could get past my hang-ups but holding hands seemed to be about as much as I could do in front of other people.
“I’m such a fuddy-duddy,” I told Town as I bounced Jack on my knee.
“You’re just you. No labels or bad names. Just be you,” Town replied.
Jack looked over his shoulder at me. “Love who you is,” the lad firmly told me.
“I’ll make sure to do that,” I chuckled as a new band came on, this one a mellower kind of soft rock sound that I enjoyed greatly. Kids raced past with balloons and shiny rainbow bracelets. People had pride pups on leashes. The sun was warm on my shoulders and the top of my head, but I had no interest in moving. I had never felt this kind of acceptance in my whole life.

Thanks so much for dropping by!
