Inheritance Books – Russ King

This week, I’ve got romantic comedy writer Russ King visiting the blog to tell us about his Inheritance Books.

Hi Russ. Welcome to my blog. Tell me a bit about yourself.

At the moment I am a stay at home dad mixing parenthood with writing, self-publishing and going quietly mad. Before taking this foolhardy step I was working as a freelance writer and creating social networks and online quizzes.

Of all these the parenting is definitely the most difficult! We have a five year old boy and a three y...

The Next Big Thing

Jane Lovering has tagged me. I’m not sure why. Perhaps she wants to study my migratory patterns, or to know if there’s lots of me or just the one that keeps popping up all over the place. Anyways, this tag thing means that I have to answer some questions about my next book. Are you sitting comfortably? Got a cup of tea and some cake? Good. Here goes.

What is the working title of your book?

Having a Ball. (At one point I called it Load of Balls, but I came to my senses by the time I reached the...

Inheritance Books – Fay Cunningham

This week, the lovely Fay Cunningham shares her Inheritance Books.

Hi Fay, welcome to the blog. Please tell me a bit about yourself.

My name is Fay Cunningham and I am a writer.

Even when I was doing multiple other jobs like PA to a CEO, secretary at the East Anglian Examinations Board and a sales rep for Empire Stores, I still considered myself a writer. It began at school, I think, when I was about 11years old and got an award for writing a short story about a dog. From then on I was hooked. I...

Inheritance Books – C S Fuqua

This week, Chris Fuqua shares his Inheritance Books.

Hi Chris, welcome to the blog. Tell me a bit about yourself.

I attended a rural elementary school in the 1960s. The third grade teacher, a crone by the name of Campbell, lived down to every expectation one might define as the worst in professional educators. Yet, despite her delight in beating kids in the back with a thick paddle and denying them bathroom breaks until they wet themselves which also brought out the paddle, she recognized in so...

Jem and the Holograms – remember them?

A few days ago, I had a Twitter conversation with @RFlong, @cathryanhoward and @ickle_tayto about Jem dolls being reissued as special edition toys. I was ridiculously excited about the news. Because in my garage, I had this:

I didn’t grow up in the UK (we travelled around a lot, of which more later), so I never actually saw Jem and Holograms on TV. I have a vague recollection of a video with a couple of episodes on it, but I’ve no idea what happened to that. So, how come I’ve got a load of Jem...

Spellbindingly Fun Blog Party

Here’s some I made earlier.

Today I’m joining Jan Horton’s Spellbindingly fun blog party to celebrate the launch of her new book How do You Voodoo

When Janice said, think of your object of desire, I spent some time fantasising about holidays and cake (which are my default objects of desire – holidays eating cake, holidays baking cakes, cake with cake…). Then reality broke in and I realised I had a 102 things to do instead of wasting time daydreaming about cake. I thought, hey, this is a voodoo...

Inheritance Books – Deborah Swift

This week, I have historical novelist Deborah Swift visiting the blog to share her inheritance books. I met Deborah at the Romantic Novelists’ Association conference earlier this year, where we had a lovely chat about period costumes and covers with headless women on them .

Hello Deborah. Welcome to my blog. Tell me a bit about yourself.

I am a novelist and poet from a small village on the edge of the English Lake District. My writing is strongly influenced by my previous career as a set and c...

Inheritance Books – Annie Burrows

Hello Annie. Welcome to my blog. Tell me a bit about yourself.

Thanks for the opportunity to talk about my favourite books, Rhoda. I’m Annie Burrows, by the way, and nowadays I write light hearted Regency romances for Harlequin Mills & Boon.

I come from a family of bookworms. Every Saturday, my parents would take me to the local library to select as many books as we were allowed to take home. At Christmas, I always got an annual of some sort, and, more than even the stories and brightly coloure...

Having a Ball – cover art

Fab cover designed by Umber Creative

Having a Ball

Ta daah! The cover art for my next book Having a Ball has arrived. I’m so excited about it I can’t stop smiling.

In case you were wondering what Having a Ball is all about (you were wondering – right?), here’s the blurb:

When the going gets tough, the tough throw a party.

Stevie has always relied on her brother to bail her out of trouble. Now she needs to prove to him that she can be independent and mature. When she takes on a job organising a charity ball for some slightly barmy re...
