Hang in There, Little Kitty

I’ve been in a pretty foul mood for awhile now. I’m going to attempt to get myself out of it! Using my own blog!

Remember this? (Maybe not, I’m old, after all.) Well, I remember this! And it was great!

This is both hilarious and swoony:

This dog is my hero:

NEVER FORGET:

Remember when this happened???!

Honestly this one makes me kinda shifty because while I can’t relate specifically to this I can relate to the idea of this A LOT. Also it made me laugh until I cried.

Actually this always cheers me up...

More Blurbs for The Reece Malcolm List!

Yesterday my agent announced the latest blurbs forThe Reece Malcolm List, and I’m so excited I can share them!

I totally fell in love with Miranda Kenneally‘s writing when I readCatching Jordan, and then even more afterStealing Parker. She is so great at writing dudes who hang out with each other, and the ways they relate to the girls around them. I love how she incorporates her main characters’ athletic abilities without making them The Girls Who Are Good At Things.

“I really enjoyed The Reece...

Musical Theatre Monday – Aaron Hartzler on Into the Woods

I am thrilled today to welcome Aaron Hartzler to Musical Theatre Monday. A little word from your hostess (that’s me): A LOT of people wanted to write about Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine’s Into the Woods. I was trying to limit it to one person, but it seemed a lot of people had something to write about it. And I realized…I didn’t want to stop them. So Aaron’s our first, but he won’t be our last.

AARON HARTZLER: Once upon a time, when composer Stephen Sondheim was asked about the theme of hi...

Musical Theatre Monday – Alison Broverman on Les Miserables

I am so happy to welcome Alison Broverman to the blog today to talk about, let’s be honest, ONE OF OUR COLLECTIVE FAVORITE MUSICALS. (Yup, I feel super comfortable speaking for the masses.) So, without further adieu, let’s get rollin’ on this week’s Musical Theatre Monday!

ALISON BROVERMAN: When I was seven years old, my mother noticed an ad in the newspaper. “Wanted: Waifish orphan types who can carry a tune and can handle some light emotional abuse” it said, or something along those lines. M...

A New Blurb for Reece!

I’m thrilled that author CK Kelly Martin has blurbedThe Reece Malcolm List:

I read The Reece Malcolm List in a bad month and didn’t want to leave sixteen-year-old Devan’s new world of sunny L.A. skies, cool choir classes, sexy but sensitive performing arts school boys and an enigmatic thirty-two-year-old mother that she’s only getting to know for the first time. This book has so much warmth and charm that you’ll find yourself wanting a second helping.

I’ve admired Martin’s work ever since I rea...

Musical Theatre Monday – Interview with Philip Hoffman

Happy Musical Theatre Monday. This week, I am thrilled to welcome Philip Hoffman for an interview! Philip’s appeared in numerous Broadway shows, and the York production of Merrily We Roll Along, which is the musical featured in The Reece Malcolm List. The York cast recording was one of my most valuable items when I was researching the show, so it was such a great opportunity to get to talk to Philip about the show, among other topics.

Philip Hoffman is an actor and dad still learning how to do...
