Dare Me
Guys, I just read Megan Abbott’s Dare Me.
It is pretty great. It’s not technically YA but it’s about high school. One of the back cover blurbs compared it to Heathers and Fight Club which I’d agree with, but it also scrapes at its own specific and complicated issues and emotions.
Anyway, I am fortunate enough to have THREE EXTRA COPIES of Dare Me to give away! Just comment here with something you were once dared to do. It doesn’t have to be something you went through with!…or it does. Whichever...

INK Gets Its First Blurb!
I’m thrilled to announce that Ink Is Thicker than Water has received its first blurb, from an author I admire the pants off of:
“Amy Spalding has a knack for capturing the messiness of family in a way that feels as familiar and comforting as a pair of perfectly worn jeans or favorite pair of flip flops. With Ink Is Thicker than Water, Spalding depicts a blended family with compassion, humor, love, and pitch-perfect authenticity.”

Announcing…Ted Callahan
Guys, here’s a true story:
Back in 2011, I was really depressed. I had an emotionally abusive dayjob. My writing career was going nowhere. My dad was sicker than usual. I kept having to take business trips…TO INDIANAPOLIS.
I didn’t know what to do: about my dayjob career, about my writing career, definitely not about Indianapolis.
So I said “SCREW IT” and started writing a book just for myself and my friends. I slipped in inside jokes and stupid references and my constant goal was to make mysel...

Oh, and it’s gorgeous.
This was designed by the amazing Jessie Weinberg, with the tattoo designed by my favorite tattoo artist, Mike Erwin.

Musical Theatre Monday – Corey Ann Haydu on The Fantasticks
Happy Musical Theatre Monday, yo. How are you celebrating? All ways are good ways. Today our guest bloggist is the adorable and talented Corey Ann Haydu, whose upcoming book OCD Love Story is one I’m quite, quite excited for. I will let Corey get to it!
COREY ANN HAYDU: I was meant to be a New Yorker.
Not only in the typical ways: I used to be an actress, I felt wildly out of place in Boston, I never wore fleece well enough to be a real New Englander, I have a Jersey father and like tiny spaces...

Not many people will be in the exact same situation as Devan. As this story begins she is flying, with her mother’s lawyer, to go live with her mother. A high school junior, Devan has never met her mother, Reece Malcolm, but now, three months after her father’s death in an auto accident, Devan is being moved to Los Angeles from St. Louis. A Bunch of Stuff
I went to New York!

Me with Lindsay Ribar and Tim Federle
Here are some things about New York and me:
Good gravy it was cold. How do you guys do it. Do you know there’s a city on the opposite coast where it’s warm and you get more square footage for your dollar? Just saying.
I went to my first high school event! This is scary because inside my brain somewhere I’m still as scared of being in a high school as I was when I was 17. Luckily the students were super cool and I had a great time.
I got to...
