The Legion is going Rogue!

So, this is where I tell you that the third Legionnaire book is out on all the major retailers (paper and e-book), if you haven’t already heard.

The Ghost Legion is in deep trouble… The authorities back on Earth is cracking down on the legions, consolidating their power, now that the Lumins have been chased out of the Sol system. What will Ethan and the rest of the Ghost Legion do? Where will they go?

I always wanted to write an epic fantasy…

Today I want to tell you about a (not so) secret dream of mine. I guess most if not all of you know me best as a science fiction writer, which is natural, since most of my books are scifi. A few may have come upon my single published fantasy work, the novella Valerians Company (yes, I published that one years before the movie Valerian, which of course have nothing to do with it), but other than that Im a scifi guy.

Well, I do love to READ fantasy, especially the epic kind, and my first attemp...

Legionnaires and Aliens

So I had an email go out a couple of days ago that I hadnt finished writing… I began writing it some time ago, and when I realized I didnt have time to finish it there and then, I set it aside. “Ill wrap it up later,” I thought. Yeah right… Note to self: remember to check if draft is set to auto-send… So, if you reading this received a similarly titled email, with clues like (UNFINISHED) or (Something, something, something), you are in fact among the thousands of people who got my rough draft...

Politics in Science Fiction

Well, first of all, Happy New Year!

Its been ages since I posted anything here, so I guess a quick recap is in order. Since my last post I published Tacticus, a Rift Saga companion story and Ghost Legion, the first installment of the Legionnaire series, a military scifi/ space opera in the spirit of Starship Troopers. The series continues in Legion Rising, currently on preorder, and due to publish on January 24.

So, heres a topic that spurred a lot of replies when I wrote about it in an email...

Bookbub, price matching and sometimes you´re in for a surprise

For a few years now Ive been lucky enough to get fairly regular features by Bookbub, which is a book recommendation service that currently reaches almost 2 million science fiction readers. Thats right, two million people have opted in to receive daily book recommendations from their curated selection! Im one of these readers, and every day I check out what they have selected in my chosen genres. As an author, I know these features are not easy to get, as they are extremely picky, but for some...

One year anniversary and another book out

One year ago, today, I walked away from my day job for the last time. It was a steady job, with career opportunities, had I wanted them. I was employed by the Norwegian government, which is about as secure an employer as they come. Every month I had steady payments coming into my bank account, and a good pension waiting for me for when that day comes. Some people probably still think Im crazy to take such a chance, to stand alone with no security net, nothing to catch me if I fall. If I dont...

It was early afternoon, and Sue lay in bed, recovering from her latest headache, when the door slammed shut downstairs.

«Mom, whats for dinner?» she heard h...
