Happy Thanksgiving!

I went through a lot this past year, but overall it was a good one. I accomplished some goals that I'd been wanting to tackle for years and I've experienced some things I never thought I would. I'm thankful for everyone of you that is reading this right now. The support I've received from the literary community is what I'm most thankful for.Love and appreciate all that you have and be blessed on this Thanksgiving day. Love, Rashida...

The Coldest Winter Ever Coming To A Theater Near You?

With all the talk about True To The Game becoming a movie I've been thinking about other books that I would love to see turned in to films. The first one I wanna see is The Coldest Winter Ever. Jada Pinkett Smith was on board to produce the movie a couple of years ago but the deal fell through.
I'm not crazy about the rest of the series but I will always love the first one. And it's not because there's a character named Rashida. The trailer above is fan made...

Superhead's Connection To The True To The Game Movie

Media Takeout is reporting that True To The Game star Columbus Short is dating Superhead. That girl must really suck a mean one because she keep a famous man. She posted the above picture along with a caption declaring her love for the actor. He in turn declared his love right back.

True To The Game stars Short along with Vivica A. Fox, Evan Ross, and Draya from Basketball Wives LA to name a few. It is based on the Terri Woods classic (some say she stole) and is currently filming in LA. Her other novel Dutch will be made into a film as well. That movie was set to start filming this year as well but no word on that yet. I'll keep you posted.

My New Baby!

My newest novel How To Fix A Broken Man drops November 27th!I was losing my love for writing...The business side of it is such a dirty game. This is entertainment, so you have to learn how to maneuver among the snakes in the grass.
Follow a desperate wife's journey to fix her broken husband and save their marriage...
When Rashida married Tony she thought she was well on her way to making her childhood dreams come true: marry a rich man, have plenty of babies to solidify her place, and do whatever else her heart desired. But after two  years and no children by a wolf in sheep's clothing, Rashida's life is turning out to be anything but a dream. When Tony's  parents discover he stole from the family fortune to fuel his alcohol addiction and pamper his beautiful new wife,  the couple is thrown out on the street. Determined to right her husband's wrongs and regain the lavish lifestyle she'd barely grown accustomed to, Rashida turns to a deadly con game in the unknown world of Devil's Breath. Will Rashida survive it all with her man, her money, and her sanity?

My Current Read: Secrets Of A Side Bitch

I've had this book sitting in my Kindle for quite some time now. I have really been slacking on my reading. About a week ago my cousin's boyfriend said him and a few of his girlfriend were reading it. He invited his Facebook friends to join in on the impromptu book club so I said why not.

So far I'm loving the book. One of the characters is a bit too much like me. I don't know if that's a good or a bad thing yet. Lol. If you haven't read the book and are interested it's free on Kindle. Click the pic of the cover above and get your copy. Stay tuned for the review.

Rashida Reviews: Choice By James Green

Click the photo to get your copy!Do you believe in the Devil? Choice makes you question the answer to that inquiry.
I downloaded Choice because I wanted to support a fellow Cleveland author. For some reason I assumed that this book would be urban fiction. It isn't. It's something like The Devil's Advocate. Check they description:
This is the story of Christian L. Smith. He becomes obsessed with searching for the truth about God, The Devil...and about life itself. When in quest for that magnitude of truth, eventually you are forced to make a choice.
This is a story of love, hate, jealousy, murder and deception. Christian Smith finds himself on a journey that there's no turning back on...it will be one he will never forget.

I give this book 2/5 Stars. Not far into the book you can tell that this writer didn't do his research on novel structure. Sometimes it was written like a book and others it was written with tags like a play. Very irritating. Also, I can tell that the author's personal religious beliefs spilled over into the story. I can dig that but I kinda felt like it was trying to turn me into a 7th Day Adventist. No bueno.
Overall though, Choice had a pretty good storyline. I could get into more stories like this if they are written and edited better.
