Time To Quit BSing...
I'm super proud of The Powder Room For Writers, an online community I started for women writers of color. In The Powder Room I chose Sundays to post books I was reading at the time in the areas of business or personal development. Well, I've decided to turn that into a book club. The First Step In Making Money As A Writer

From the day I logged on I knew that I would be filming Scopes, a.k.a. broadcasts, on a regular basis. For the first time I feel like I have a platform that will allow me to get up close and personal with all of you Beauties. I logged on after three or four days in and posted my first one. I didn't realize that my makeup looked a mess, thanks to my blind self with no glasses, but I'm happy how it turned out.
In my Scope I talked about the first step in taking your writing from a hobby to a profession where you actually GET PAID. That step is changing your MINDSET! Here are my tips for the developing an author attitude:
Claim your author status!Be ready to work! This isn't a get rich quick scheme. Don't be surprised by the lack of support and help you receive from other authors. Be ready to learn and self teach. You'll have to watch the Scope for full details. Replays stay up for 24 hours so you have until about 7pm EST TONIGHT to see it before it's gone forever! See you on Periscope.

Farewell...
This is the message I woke up to this morning. My publisher decided that she was dropping all of us authors and focusing on her own thing.
I cannot lie, I feel like a huge weight has been lifted off my shoulders. I have been dreading writing partly because I owed one more book... that I didn't wanna deliver.
Now that this part of my writing journey is over with I will be self-publishing only. I do have a publishing company that I want to submit my work to, but I don't have the right manuscript ready. So, when that's done I'll let you know.
Good luck to all of my fellow authors who were released. I pray that you find happiness and success in your career.
To my readers and supporters, I won't let you down. I am working on a novel that I know you will love! Keep an eye out for the progress on that and new blog posts here on Really Rashida Online.
