[VIDEO] The Worst Of Us

When an accidental murder is committed by one of five siblings they make a poor attempt to cover up the gruesome crime. Roz Hood, the eldest of the quintet, also a convicted felon, uses her feminine wiles to seduce Barks Daily, brother to the victim, in an effort to throw him off her sexual deviant sister's trail. But as time passes with no word from his younger brother, Barks' patience grows as thin as blood, unearthing his natural savage behavior. Adding to the burden is the family's dark past seeped in mental illness, sexual abuse and violence.

The Dumbest Bitch In America

I thought I was done when we fought so hard that I damn near broke his nose with a Heineken bottle. Then I was sure I was finished when he had a baby on me... But then there was a second. Finally, I was through when I had to fight the mother of said kids in front of my mother's residence.

For seven years, of and on, I went through bullshit with a man that obviously was the wrong choice for me. I loved him. I felt a soul tie to him that was addicting. Well, at least those were the excuses that I used for dealing with a situation that was so ridiculous.

The truth of the matter is my self-esteem was pretty non-existent. I didn't believe that I deserved or would ever truly find a man that would love me. I told myself over and over that being miserable in life is what God wanted for me. Even when things were going their best I would find a way to self sabotage and ruin it. It wasn't until I truly left old boy alone that I realized this. I mean, I'd had some revelations before that helped me come out of depression and love myself more but breaking free showed me that I wasn't completely healed.

In October it will be on year since I left my ex. To this day I answer his calls and texts. Smh. Hence the title of this blog post. With no physical contact or seeing each other I've made a big step but now I'm asking the Lord for deliverance from ALL COMMUNICATION! My soul is still weak so I'm gonna need the man upstairs...

My Current Read: Murderville By Ashley & JaQuavis

Click HERE to get your copy!My last few reads gave me the blues so I hope that this time around I actually enjoy my book of choice. I took a break from A&J books because I was tired of them recycling the same storyline. Murderville seems to be something a little bit different so I'm intrigued. This is another one that I got quite a while ago and am finally getting a chance to read. Take a peek at what this story is all about...

Two children from Sierra Leone, Liberty and A’shai, are brought together by chance only to be forced apart by the most inevitable and tragic fate. Ashley and JaQuavis bring us this classic love story set against modern life’s most horrifying realities.

Liberty is dying of a fatal heart condition, though she desperately wants to survive until her 25th birthday when her sister has promised to visit her.  A’shai blames himself for not protecting Liberty, but all Liberty asks is for A’shai to tell her a story, to help her remember what brought them to this point. He knows that this is the last story he will ever tell and the last she will ever hear.

As Liberty lies dying, A’shai walks her though their past, reliving their ill-fated journeys through the streets. Their story will take them from an arranged marriage, through Mexico’s drug cartel, child brothels, hustling in Detroit, to escaping the high-powered heads of L.A.’s underworld. But ultimately, this is a story of love and redemption that will leave you breathless from the unpredictable and mind-blowing ending.

Rashida Reviews: The Millionaire Mistress By Tiphani Montgomery

Click HERE to get your copy!RATING: 3/5 STARS

This is a good urban fiction classic. The storyline has romance, drugs, money, murder, and plenty of drama. I love that this book was well written and edited. I didn't really enjoy it because I realize that I've just outgrown this type of book. Still I suggest you pick it up if you haven't read it.

My Current Read: The Millionaire Mistress By Tiphani Montgomery

I've been a fan of Tiphani's because of her non-fiction work. She's been a mentor, in my mind, for a few years now. She's been able to create a six figure business online with just books, classes, and coaching. I wanted to learn how to make money online and she was one of the first people that I discovered when I started doing research on the topic. Her realness stood out to me along with the fact that she self-published her first book and made $25k off of it.  She is the type of woman I would like to learn from.

Her first fiction book The Millionaire Mistress is an Essence Magazine best seller. I have always wanted to check it out but never took the time to do so. Finally, I'm digging in to it. Check the synopsis:

When times get rough, Chloe needs a fresh start--and some serious cash. Convinced her body is her most valuable asset, she puts herself to work in the bedroom. But she's still hoping to find a man who'll get her out of the game. So she's devastated when her cousin, Oshyn, snags a drug dealer with money to burn. Oshyn flaunts her cars and jewels, driving Chloe insane with jealousy--and determined to steal her lover. But when sex doesn't work, a desperate Chloe plans the ultimate betrayal . . . .

Rashida Reviews: Tony Story By Meek Mill

Click HERE for your copy!RATING: 2.5/5 STARS

This review is going to be a short one. The reason why? I didn't even finish the book. That is how much I did NOT enjoy this story. I am beginning to realize that "street" or hardcore "urban" books aren't for me. I'm not entertained by a bunch of miscellaneous hood shit being thrown in a book for the hell of it. The same old drug kingpin story has gotten VERY old and I am bored to pieces with the storyline.

Tony Story was about a scum bag named, you guessed it, Tony who was able to kill his best friend because he wants to take over his very lucrative drug business. I lost interest as soon as he was able to just murder this man, take over everything, and still walk the street like nothing happened. If a story is just too far fetched I don't like it.

I am going to be fair and say that my review of Tony Story may be because of my personal taste. Someone who is into this type of book may love it so if you are willing to give Meek Mill's first and only book a try click the link above the cover pic above and get your copy. Hit me up when you're done and let me know what you think.

My Current Read: Tony Story By Meek Mill

Click HERE to get your copy!I have never been a huge Meek Mill fan so when his book came out I didn't run out to buy it. The book is based on a song by Meek that tells the story of a man who is betrayed by the streets. I love a song that tells a good story and that is what Meek did with the book's title track. When his beef with Drake got hot G Street Chronicles made the book free on Kindle so I downloaded it.

I read through the introduction, which was written by the director of Shottas (I know you've seen that classic) and got bored about halfway through. I'm not gonna judge the book by that though because I'm rarely stunned by the into of any book. I'm ready to give this book a fair shot and hope that it isn't just a longer version of the song.

Check out the song below and get your copy of the book above and read along with me. My goal is to get this done in two weeks. Think I can do it?

And just in case you've never seen Shottas...

Rashida Reviews: Secrets Of A Side Bitch By Jessica Watkins

Click here to get your copy! It's FREE!It took me a while to finish this book. For a change, that was a good thing. This story had me all up in my feelings very early on in the book. I could relate to the main character, Aeysha, so much that it was scary. She was a female who was struggling to get pregnant by her loving, but cheating man, Omari. Aeysha was struggling to find a job and her faith was dwindling so things were extra stressful for her. That right there sums up my life for many years. Well, just when things seemed to be going well for the couple Omari gets himself a side chick that is different than any woman he's ever met...

After getting over my crazy emotions I picked the book back up and made myself finish it. I am so glad that I did! This book is well written and has just the right amount of drama and suspense. I love that Jessica took a common storyline and made it unique with her twists and turns. I give this book 5 stars all across the board. Character development, storyline, and editing were all on point. Not to mention that the ebook was free on Kindle.

This is a just the first of a four part series. Now, normally I don't go past three books but this one has me very interested. I just might read through the series. I'll keep you posted. For now be on the look out for my next read  and don't forget to click the cover above to get your free Kindle version of this banger!
