Where Should You Promote Yourself?

Go on, write something -- somewhere, anywhere -- and get noticed. You're sure to be noticed at some point. Is that the idea of promotion you had in mind?

Where should you promote yourself? If you are a writer, where is the best place to show off your writing?

A good beginning is on your blog, and then go to online writing sites such as Hubpages and Squidoo, and hope your work will get

Promote yourself before you've Smote yourself.

When promoting your book, it seems
intuitive for most people to focus on the content of a book. Advertisements
like:

But what if at first glance, the content of
your book doesn’t appeal to someone, or they are unimpressed by a seemingly “gimmicky”
advertisement (like in the ad for that Patricia Cromwell book above)? If all of your promotion has been poured into

Promotion, Publishing With CreateSpace and Black Friday

Black Friday is upon us writers, and for those who have published books today is a great day to shout it out to the world, or at least get in a few sales that you would otherwise not have. This is a great way to promote your book, and more so if you have self-published a book. Since CreateSpace is a part of Amazon, it is a good time to think about what you have done.

I had mentioned once

Google Me This! Google and Books

Google Me This!

Promoting your book on the internet can
seem like a daunting and puzzling task. I know for me, I only recently felt comfortable
enough to buy some domain space and start working on a blog. However, there are
pre-established websites that can help tomake it a little less overwhelming for the
web design novice like myself.

Is What We Write Online Worth the Effort For Money or Promotion?

Some of our writing isn't good. We will probably not like to let our egos get to hung on on that fact, but some, in all honesty really is bad, and should never be shown to others. Writing is a lonely art-- at least when it comes to first drafts.

This is true when writing a book or when writing online. There is a reason for both but that doesn't mean we need to publish either. We like having

Promoting Dos and Don'ts

Let’s keep it simple. What are a few dos
and don’ts a writer should consider when promoting their book?

Do make time for your book, even though after the extensive writing,
editing, and publishing process you are likely sick of reading it. If you can
find new ways to read your book, then your readers will be able to as well,
which gives your book staying power.

Don’t
leave

Should You Use Twitter to Promote Your Book?

I joined the land of twitter recently, as I am the sort of person who was not sure about twitter. I didn't want to have my valuable time taken on twitter when I could be writing. I think that I did not understand the value of having some other type of promotion in another site where I could have more followers, and more potential readers.

I was not sure that this was the best idea, but another

If I'm Making Money From My Book Why Should I Promote It?

You are making money. You love your writing so much since you began to get those sales for your books, and now you have some extra spending money to use. Everyone loves hearing that they are making money with something that they are passionate about.

You might convince yourself, "I am making money from my book, and since I really didn't do as much marketing as they say, why should I promote it?
