Writers, and Double Lives

Writing booksare little miracles, that out of these small, flat, rigid squares of paper unfolds world after world. Without words, without writing and without books there woud be no history, and nothing to read. A book can show us what a community and friendship mean; they show us how to live and die. They show us what the writer saw and what they wanted to publish.

As a writer, they get

Setting Goals is Important, But How Many Should You Set?

It is that time of year when most writers sit down an reflect on how they have worked this year. They want to see more success in the New Year and they will usually set some goals, based on what they did or didn't do last year.

As a quick review here was the list I had last year... Let's see how I did.

1) Publish another book.

2) Improve my writing

3) Expand Living a Life of Writing Blog.

We Write, But Not Everything Needs To Be Published

I'm still working on my second book. This time, it has two co-authors, and it is taking as long as the last book took to write. There is nothing wrong with the time, but there is another learning curve we are on. What should and shouldn't be published as a book. A book cover can always be something that needs to be changed and developed.

We had planned on using this cover as our book

What Price is The Right Price For Your Book?

It is all about writing. This is what most writers will love to say when they have finally done all the hard work that they had to do on their book. They are excited that they have edited and re-written and cut out and put back in... to make this a great book. They get it sent off to the publishers, and then they hope for the best. They can also choose to continue on a journey of their own

Music: Food of Love, Emotion

One of my favourite things about
the holidays is turning on the radio and hearing some of my favourite Christmas
carols, but also some original ones. They are expressions of joy, thanksgiving,
love, and peace. What could be more inspiring than these fundamentally
wonderful emotions? I don’t think it’s any coincidence that when I need to be
inspired to write, the holidays and the music of the

Writing Quotes that Make You Want to Write

Not every writer publishes a book to be famous. Not every writer is a great editor. Some days it means it is harder to write something than others, and some days you will need some great quotes to keep you going.

That is what writing is about. Never giving up and starting each day new. Hard to do but it is the only way to go as a writer.

Just keep writing, and you will publish

Fold Your Troubles Away...and WRITE!

These days, sometimes motivating yourself to keep writing seems like an uphill battle. There are so many distractions, and it seems that almost everyone has let go of the notion that we deserve time to relax; days are filled with driving, errands, work, extra work, post-work work, etc. On top of that, I always find that sometimes as writers we forget that we are artists. Our emotions affect our

What Do You Enjoy About Writing

Sometimes writing stresses me out, I feel that the words don't want to roll out. I feel the anxiety of trying to think of something that is worthwhile. As I sit here at my laptop trying to put into verse something that is already clear in my mind, I should have no incentive or need to write about it.We write in order to understand not to be understood.

I suppose the saying " I have

Writing Images To Keep You Going

Don't be afraid of writing, it is just writing, and this means you do not have to be book smart or money wise, you just need something to say.

When it gets hard to find inspiration, it simply means you have to trust you have what it takes... and you do have something to say.

Don't ever give up, your voice is too important.
Just write, it's only a day. There is nothing to writing, you

Catching the Inspiration Bug

They
say lightning never strikes the same place twice, but in the case of
inspiration this is thankfully not the reality. However, the reality is that
you’ve just spent a lot of time writing, publishing, and promoting your book,
so at this stage, your motivation and inspiration cup doesn’t likely runneth
over. Here are some easy tips I use when I want to reignite that
