Wolf Winter, Cecilia Ekback
The winter of our discontent.
The scene is Sweden's interior wilderness: forests, lakes, marshes, and mountains. A smattering of families, referred to as settlers, living in wooden cabins occupy this territory alongside the native Sami, referred to as Lapps in this novel called Wolf Winter, 2015, by Cecilia Ekback.

Tech Review: Android Lollipop
Jellybeans make a wonderful, colorful snack; a wonderful operating system they do not. I have been writing and griping about Jellybean for a long time now and it seems the rest of the world is finally catching up. The buggy system had updates yes, but every time I updated something else stopped working entirely.

Power of Being Positive
There is no doubt in my mind that trying to think positively is a powerful experience- if you test a limit each day. Take a look at life, if you have a mindset that something, anything will go wrong- it probably will. The flip side to this is thinking positively. This is a bit of wordplay, instead of thinking what could go wrong, think about the fact the challenges are there to see if you can [image error]

Positive Action Through Simple Steps
In my last post on positive thinking, I described a mental exercise to help rid those plagued with negative thoughts with more useful, positive ones. The process of relaxation techniques and mental imagery demands great effort, will power, and practice, before results are attained.

Book Review: Ruby by Cynthia Bond
I've never been a follower of Oprah. The occasional moment flits on t.v. or the must watch YouTube clip. The "You get a car" moments or Tom Cruise leaping up on a couch confessing his love for Katie Holmes. But the ever present nudge in the media to read one of her book club picks has never enticed me to read them.
Until now.
I'd seen Ruby (Oprah's Book Club 2.0)

Book Review: The Bear
If you go out in the woods today....
There are two things that I did after reading The Bear: A Novel
by Claire Cameron.
1. Crossed camping off my list of things that I will ever do again.
2. Put my brand new tent, that I was once excited about, up for sale.
This beautiful book is based on a true story of a pair of campers who were killed by abear in Algonquin Park. The fiction aspect

The Positive Side To Life
Have you noticed there is a lot of negativity out there? Sure, it could be the long hard winter we're experiencing - polar vortexes can dampen the mood of the happiest, most positive people. Regardless of the weather, some people are simply more prone to feelings of discouragement, alienation, and self-pity. In order to get out of your 'funk' you'd think the best advice would come from the [image error]

Writing on an iPad: A Review
With the many choices of tablets on the market which tablet would I recommend to writers?
Simple.
iPad. Like this one;Apple iPad Air MD788LL/B (16GB, Wi-Fi, Silver).
When you open the box everything is simple-. The cable to charge your device, simple. Can be plugged in either way.No need to fumble with which way is up anymore with the new lightning cable.

On Writing A Book Review
I am writing my first book review for the world to see.
My normal reviews are oral and intended for a one on one audience. My dialogue, mannerisms and excitement level (or lack there of if I didn't care for the title) is all tailor fit to the person that I am speaking to.
Now I'm lost. Where do I begin?
Do I pick a book that the masses will love because then the more people that like the [image error]

Defining the "Professional" Writer
"Is writing about money or being more professional?"
This is an excellent
question and one that several people have asked over the course of me writing
for this blog. As such, I want to give it the air time it deserves. Over the
next couple posts we will examine this issue in more detail and (hopefully)
come to some sort of conclusion. The reason this is such a tough concept to
deal with as a
