Sick of being sick
So I’m sitting here in the middle of the night after having dealt with being horribly ill yesterday, and I find myself contemplating the fact that I think the universe owes me a good, long period of health. In the past month or so I have dealt with two bouts of something best described as “gastro-intestinal distress” and about a week of something I’d describe as “a wicked cold” …
To me that seems like more than enough illness for a good long while. I just want to be able to sit down and write....
An Early Rewrite & A New Synopsis
Since my last entry I’ve continued to feel a bit ill and have had a rough time as a result. Also, my parents have been in town and been taking up some time. Nothing wrong with that, of course. Family is good. (See how good at the end of this entry.)
During the course of this illness and such I’ve had almost no sleep. A couple of hours a night, or fitful rest when I’ve slept longer. The first sleepless night where I felt that I could work again (as in I wasn’t ill, just tired) I had an epiphany...
Disagreeing With The Masters
Writing is an individual thing. It is a process -a calling- which has few truisms and oh so many variables and theories. As a writer you need to find your own way of looking at things and then adjust as you go along. It’s part science, sure, but there’s so much art that relying on formulas makes you stale and unresponsive.
