End of March Updates
So it’s probably worth updating to give an idea of what’s been going on, and where my thoughts are at going forward. We’re finishing off the first quarter of 2013, and moving on to the next. Seems like a good point in time to reflect, no?
In total I’ve gotten five products out in 2013. I’m almost finished with everything for The Partners at this point. The paperback edition (which looks fantastic) is undergoing a round of changes after review of the proof, and should be set to live very soon i...

Parental Advisory
When I was about 12 years old I started reading Stephen King’s novels. He doesn’t generally shy away from rough subject matter. There’s sex, violence, language, drugs, alcohol, etc. in most of what he writes.
I didn’t learn how to swear from Stephen King though. I’d figured that out by the time I was much younger than 12.
It’s fair to say that I probably learned some things about the other rough subject matter that I didn’t know. But you have to gain exposure somehow, and I think reading about...

Dead's Night & The Partners Released
I’m tired.
One of the things I hadn’t actually anticipated when I started this endeavor was how much effort would be required simply to sustain the pace I’ve set in terms of publishing duties. Not writing. Actually putting the work out after it’s written.
I now understand why it is that writers hire out for certain services. I get why they solicit for personal assistants (the big names do sometimes anyway) as well. There’s an immense amount of work that isn’t writing to be done.
But there’s an u...

Guest: Christopher Kellen on Writing The Elements of Sorcery
Today’s blog post is from Christopher Kellen, whose Elements of Sorcery series is rapidly expanding. The novelette/novella sized installments are called lessons, and consitute a Swords & Sorcery and Urban Fantasy mix.
You can pick up Sorcerer’s Code (Amazon or B&N) and Sorcerer’s Crime (Amazon or B&N) if you’re interested after reading his post. Sorcerer’s Blood is coming on March 1st. You can catch up with Christopher on his site.
Without further ado, here he is:
THE ELEMENTS OF SORCERY focuses...

Sunset Ride Released
I’ve been quiet for a little while. There’s a reason for that.
Sunset Ride is available now on Amazon!
Why has it kept me so quiet? Because it’s four times as long as I anticipated it would be.
But now it’s done, and out in the wild. For now that means Amazon, but in time you’ll be able to pick it up on other retailers as well. (There’s a little matter of needing to get ISBNs, and that’s happening when the tax return hits this month.)
The $2.99 price is the regular one, so you won’t be seeing the...

Noon High Released
Right on schedule, the second of the Dire Calls shorts is out on Amazon. You can pick Noon High up for the sale price of $0.99.
That’s 33% off until the release of Sunset Ride in two weeks.
As the Dire Crimes universe is fleshed out I’ll be doing my best to add more and more information on various sites around the web (Shelfari, for example) as well as within my own network.
I’m looking at a lot of words to write though, and the secondary stuff may have to go by the wayside as deadlines start to...

Day Breaks Promo Results 21JAN13
So, the final results of the promotional period for Day Breaks are in.
First off, I want to thank everyone who did pick up a copy of the story. I sincerely hope that you enjoy it.
Secondly, I would like to note that I have done far better than I expected to do. I was pssimistic as I went into this. Very cautious in my expectations.
The following factors were things I felt weighed against me:
I had a very limited amount of exposure. The only big communities were the Amazon.com discussions (in one...
