Final snippet from Christmas Romance- Gingerbread Dreams by Victoria Adams on Book Hooks #MFRWAuthor #Christmasstory
This is the last of the Christmas story snippets I am post for this year. It is from one of my 2 stories that appear in the Exquisite Christmas Anthology.
Blurb – Reese Jacobs, talented baker, and owner of Dessert Haven. Brandon Roberts, the world's top celebrity chef and former lover of Reese, travels the world cooking for embassies, 5 star hotels and A–list clients.A nostalgic nudge sends Brandon home and quirk of fate, places the two together to cook for a charity event. Can a gingerbread cookie fix a broken relationship?
The reporter giggled. "A bit of juicy back history will add some spice to the story." She leaned forward. "Did you really live with the Brandon Roberts? The sexiest celebrity chef on the planet.""Brandon and I dated." Reese placed the teacup on the metal counter then folded her hands on her lap. "But it was a long time ago. Now, can we get back to the charity dinner?"The reporter blinked. "You mean, you don't know?"

Kristy Centeno's NA Paranormal Fanatsy - Midnight #NA #paranormal #fantasy
MIDNIGHTForgotten Divinity #2by Kristy CentenoGenre:NA Paranormal Fantasy
A past shrouded in darkness.
A mission that can mean the difference between life and death.
One week to find the answers they need.
With the memories of her historical love for the Soul Broker who was once commissioned to harvest her soul, eradicated from her mind, Daya must embark on a perilous journey through dangerous territory to find those who might shed some light into the mystery that surrounds them. But what she uncovers along the way may prove too daunting for her to come to terms with.
Trapped in a loop she can’t get out of, Daya’s only tool for survival is trusting Mason. But will betrayal be a determining factor when they both have something to gain by giving up on each other?
NOTE: This book is the continuation of the short story featured in the anthology, Blood in the Shadows. Midnight picks up right where Shadows left off
Excerp
The demon growls in frustration, shaking the wounded hand as if to clear it of pain. His midnight eyes glance up at me with undisguised menace.
“Hunter,” he manages to growl.
I pay attention to his face, spotting a mouth full of razor-sharp teeth and two sunken eyes with dark circles underneath, and a jaw that juts forward in an abnormal manner as he glares down at me. He’s ominous and pissed off. Not a good combination.
“Get out of here, Dex,” I shout at my informant, not once ungluing my eyes from the figure five feet from me.
“Daya.” The demon’s lips curve up into the most sinister grin I’ve ever seen. “The fallen Angel.” He laughs, but the gesture lacks mirth. “You know what I find ironic?”
I hold off on replying, not really interested in anything he has to say.
“The hunter has become the hunted.” He closes and opens his fist, making his discomfort apparent.
He knows who wants me dead. This has my attention.

I was watching you. From Victoria Adams' Christmas Knight #Christmasstory #romance
For the month of December, I am going to post snippets from one of the two Christmas stories of mine in the Exquisite Christmas Anthology.Christmas Knight is set on a cruise ship in the Caribbean. Tamara meets a handsome stranger with the mysterious initials S.C. (I attached a smidge of last week's post - so you understand what they're talking about.)
An embarrassed flush flowed from her toes to her nose. Tamara turned towards the sea. Unable to contain her curiosity, she snuck a peek over her shoulder. He was returning from the nearest garbage bin, wiping his hands against each other as if to rid himself of something disgusting.Tamara gritted her teeth. "Oh, this just keeps getting worse and worse."He leaned on the railing next to her. His eyes twinkled as a puff of ocean breeze nudged a locket of hair onto his forehead. "What keeps getting worse?"Oh, crap! I said that out loud. She held the handkerchief out to him. "I can't take it. I shouldn't even be seen with you. You're a passenger. I'm entertainment. Ship rules and all that."He waved his hand as if to dismiss an inconsequential thought. "What's upsetting you?""Everything." The word popped out of her mouth. He placed his hand on her elbow. His grip was strong, but his skin was soft. Tingles shot from her elbow throughout her body. Directing her to a bench, he settled himself and patted a spot next to him. "Please. Sit."Tamara opened her mouth to speak. He held up a hand. "Forget the rules. At this moment we're just two people on a cruise ship, in the middle of the Caribbean, sitting on a bench under a star filled sky. Look at that." He waved his hand towards the heavens. Her body trembled. Tears tumbled from her eyes. Tamara plopped on the bench, lifted the handkerchief to her face and blew. "Oh!" She turned. "I'm so sorry. I didn't mean to use it. I'll...get it cleaned."His mouth broke into a wide grin. His eyes sparkled like the stars above her. Tamara forgot her sadness and revelled in the joy of the moment."Question? Your hair was long and black this evening." He slid his hand over her short, red hair. She shrugged. "Wig."He lowered his gaze. "I was mesmerized by your dancing. The sensual way you moved. I felt it here." He lifted his head and rested his hand on his chest. "It felt like you were dancing just for me."Tamara chuckled. "I almost was. The ship is only about a quarter full." She bit her bottom lip. "I saw you when I was first on stage, getting my bearings. When I dance I can't look at the audience. I pretend it's just dress rehearsal and there's no one watching me."
"I was watching you." He brushed his hand across her cheek.

How's the Christmas craziness in your life? #Christmas
On this week's Thursday Thought - there really is only one choice for the topic - being this close to Christmas - yup - Christmas.
Is your shopping done?The wrapping?
Is your tree up?
Is it decorated?
Is the cat hiding in it?
Are the cookies all baked? Is the turkey bought?
With all that done - then there is only 1 thing left to do
Have a very Merry Christmas.

Victoria Adams's Christmas romance- Gingerbread Dreams on Book Hooks #MFRWAuthor #Christmasstory
Each Wed from now to Christmas I am posting a snippet from one of my 2 stories that appear in the Exquisite Christmas Anthology.
Reese cringed, remembering the unfinished order for sixteen dozen Christmas cookies. Not a good time to be interviewed. Maybe if she locked the reporter in the freezer… Mentally slapping herself, Reese took a sip of her chocolate tea. A curious emotion crossed the reporter's face. Reese stifled a teenage eye roll. Here it comes...the dreaded question - so, what made you want to become a pastry chef? The reporter shifted on the wooden stool. "So, what was it like dating Brandon Roberts?"

Love in Times of War: #NewRelease #HolidayRecipe #LuvNWar @jacqbiggar
The Christmas season is my favorite time of year. An air of festivity takes hold as stores bring out their holiday decorations and old time favorites play on the television. One of my favorite Christmas recipes came from my grandmother, Waldorf salad. Every year I'd look forward to seeing that fancy glass bowl filled with chopped up apples taking pride of the place on our dining room table. It was Grandma's donation to our holiday dinner. We've kept the tradition going, even though she passed away a few years ago. Now, when I look upon that simple bowl of salad every year, I feel her presence among us and smile.
WALDORF SALAD 6 Spartan or Mac Apples3 Stalks Celery1 cup Chopped Walnuts1 cup Mayo, 2 tbs. sugar, 4 tbs. milk whipped together

Spotlight on Rhythmic Emotion by Margaret Lowe #poetry
RHYTHMIC EMOTIONby Margaret LoweGenre: Poetry
Poetry full of emotion; dark and romantic. Margaret put her heart and soul into these poems for the enjoyment of others.
Amazon ✯ Amazon Int'l ✯ Goodreads
Hello, I’m Margaret Lowe and I’m a writer. I was born in a small town in California and back then I was known as Margaret Williams. Even as a little girl I knew I was to be a writer…well either that or a singer, but there were always people who’d tell me that I’d never make it as one and you know what? I believed them. And that’s how my dream of being a singer died. That’s how my dream of being a writer almost died. But then my personal hero, my dad, inspired me to never give up and to always fight for what I wanted despite what people were saying. He told me I could do anything I wanted if I put my mind to it, and that’s what I did. Of course, being the first time I gave it a real try, it was a real struggle... I knew what I wanted to write, I had ideas, but I didn’t quite know how to write them down…sometimes I still struggle with that. There were also times when I’d lose my inspiration, and the worst was when I needed something to write, just to escape the madness surrounding me, but it felt as if the creativity was gone. But there were also the times when I’d be struck by this idea that’d keep me up at night just to put it on paper before it escaped me and didn’t return. So I made the best of it.
I found the strength to pull myself and my life together and now I’m publishing my first book. Let’s keep our fingers crossed that my muse is here to stay.
I hope you, my readers, are going to see through my eyes the story of my characters and love them like I do.
My books and stories are dedicated to the memory of my father and to my beautiful mother for without your love and support this dream would have never been a reality.

From my NA contemporary romance - Dancing in Circles.
Julie's date and his friends have attacked Robert, who was only trying to offer comfort to Julie. Robert fought one of the classmates earlier, with Robert easily winning the fight.
The two men circled each other looking for that first opening. Derek picked up his beer bottle and before Julie shouted a warning, he swung. The glass crashed against Robert's head. He stumbled, shook his head then sank to the ground.Derek chuckled. "Shoresmen always win their fights, yeah right." With a powerful swipe, he kicked the unconscious Robert.Julie stepped forward and knelt beside him."Leave the garbage alone." Stephan pulled her away.
Dancing in Circles. One born into privilege and a charmed life surrounded by love and family. The other born to a life of violence on the streets as the solemn gang leader of the notorious Shoresmen. A young, idealistic co-ed, Julie, meets a jaded, cold gang member, Robert, and cracks his icy shell, allowing the warmth of her love to awaken his soul.
