Holidays with Beachwalk Press Hop

Picture Hi! I'm Lacey Wolfe and I'm an author with Beachwalk Press. Thank you for stopping by my little corner of the web.

I'm not a big holiday person. You could call me the Grinch. But since my kids arrived, I get a little more in the holiday spirit for them. I really enjoy the Elf on the Shelf. I like seeing my childrens' face when he moves and they have to find him and see what he did that night. Because that little guy gets himself into weird predicaments.

I'm not crazy about decorating. Everyone now and then I get excited, like last year which was our first year in this house. But for the most part, I dislike having to move things around the house just to accommodate that tree. See, I told you. I am the Grinch. Just give me a big green suit and put me up on my own mountain and I'll be happy. :) Ok! So what is something that I do like? I love finding new readers! I also enjoy giving away books. :) Today I am giving away two books. One naughty and one nice! So there will be two winners. (One book to each winner)

*Note: Clicking book covers will take you to read the blurb and excerpt.* Picture Bound By Pleasure is a 30k BDSM novella Picture Wanted: Wife is a category length story, with a hero that will make you swoon. Giveaway Details! The main thing to enter this giveaway is to leave me a comment, telling me if you want it naughty or nice ! Be sure to include your email in the comment.

Cover Reveal - Arranged Love

Picture My next release is around the corner in January! This one is a little spicier then most of my recent releases, but I think you'll enjoy it!
They think they're fooling their parents, but really, the joke's on them.

Kayla Ames's parents could win an award in meddling. Every time she turns around, they're setting her up with someone new. Try as she might, she can't convince them to butt out of her love life.

Ryan Newell isn't looking for love. After having his heart torn to shreds by his ex, he's determined to never again fall in love and leave himself that vulnerable to being hurt. His parents, however, believe he just needs some help finding the right woman, and their friends' daughter, Kayla, might be a perfect match.

Realizing they both have the same problem—parents who won't stop nagging them about finding a partner—Ryan and Kayla agree to an arrangement of sorts. All they have to do is pretend to date, and they don't even have to see each other, they can discuss the details of their "dates" via email. But then the email conversations lead to real dates, and Kayla finds herself struggling to keep her feelings for Ryan in check as he's made it clear love will not enter into the equation for him. Then Kayla's parents suddenly announce they're getting a divorce, and she begins to wonder if maybe Ryan has the right idea.

When it all gets to be too much for Kayla, she has a hard decision to make—agree to stay with Ryan and never experience love, or walk away for her chance to find it.

Thank You, Readers!

Picture Tomorrow is Thanksgiving here in the USA and it's the time of the year where we sit back and reminisce on all out blessings in our life. I'd like to take a moment and thank you, my readers. Without the kind encouragement I get from you, I might have given up long ago. But instead, your kind comments on the blog, facebook, emails, and other places help me. Each time a book releases and I get your feedback, it helps me want to keep going and keep writing.

Over the past year, my sales have gotten a lot stronger. I have you guys to thank. Being a writer is hard. And with your help, I have reached more people. Thank you so much for sharing my books on your social media sites and telling your friends about them. And of course, thank you for your reviews.

All right! Enough of the sappy stuff! If you celebrate Thanksgiving, I hope you stuff your belly tomorrow until you wobble. Enjoy the time with your friends and family. After all, they say you never regret the time spent with friends and family.

Available Now - It Must Be Fate

Picture Yay! It Must Be Fate is finally on eBook shelves! Want a sneak peak? Check out chapter one below. But first, here's what the stories about:

Sometimes the future lies in the past…

Sandy Collins hasn’t thought about him in years, not since he broke her heart and broke off their engagement. She’s built a great nursing career for herself, and most of all, she’s happy. Until she ruined it by walking into that staff meeting…

After the passing of his grandmother, Daniel and his daughter Keri have moved back to town and taken up residence in her house. Things are looking up after several rough years, but on the first day of work at his new job as a pediatrician, Daniel gets an unexpected surprise—in the form of a nurse he’s never been able to forget.

As much as she tries to fight it, Sandy can’t deny the attraction. Daniel makes it clear that he’s sorry and wants another shot, and he’s willing to do whatever it takes. But the last thing Sandy wants is to relive the misery from the past. But how can she resist when it seems as though fate is stepping in?
Chapter One A cool shiver swept up Sandy’s spine as she dipped her big toe into the lake behind her house. Removing her foot, she took a deep breath, enjoying the scent of morning flowers. The sun warmed her face.

She turned and glanced around, as she always did, before slipping her robe off for an early-morning swim—naked. This was her secret—a way to let loose from her usually tightly scheduled life. Sure, she could wear a swimsuit, but being completely nude just felt so enlightening. Freedom perhaps.

For the most part, her property was private. She lived at the end of the road. Only one house was next to hers, and it had been vacant for quite some time. The lawn was full of tall weeds, the bushes overgrown. A few of the windows had boards over them. The house sat there all alone and forgotten.

As usual, no one was around to observe her private daily ritual. Sandy removed the robe, tossed it behind her, and grinned as she always did. Entering the chilly water at a leisurely pace, she waited until she was waist deep before beginning to swim. As the water engulfed her body with each stroke, she felt free from life’s everyday demands. She needed this—it was her way of coping with her work roster. The unpredictable shifts, on constant rotation, were doing nothing for her love life.

In fact, when was the last time she’d been on a date? A month ago, maybe two? She kicked her legs faster. It had probably been longer than that.

Once she was in the middle of the lake, she began to tread water and float in place. She closed her eyes for a few moments. When she reopened them, she gazed at the trees swaying in the breeze and finally back toward her home. Something caught her attention at the house next door. A girl stood on the back porch looking right at her. She appeared to be about nine, maybe ten.

Sandy wiped her eyes, wondering if she was really seeing someone over there. When she looked back at the house, no one was there. Had she imagined it? Letting out a sigh and feeling creeped out, she swam back quickly. If someone were over there, she would need to get out of the lake and inside her home before they came out to chat. Imagine that—her butt-naked and having new neighbors wanting to come introduce themselves.

As she made her way back to shallow water, she said a silent prayer no one would see her as she climbed out and wrapped her robe around her. Without a backward glance, she sprinted to her house, up the back steps, and inside to safety.

 * * *

“Well, what do you think?” Daniel turned toward his preteen daughter, Keri.

“It’s nice, but did great-grandma die in here?”

“No, honey, she didn’t. She lived a long and wonderful life. By the time she got sick, she was already in the nursing home, which is where she passed away.”

“It was probably a better environment than mom had at that ice-cold hospital.”

Taking in a deep breath, he nodded. Janet had been gone for two years now. His heart had mostly healed from the loss, but he was never really sure how Keri’s was doing. One day she was happy and the next she wasn’t. And it didn’t help one bit that she was hitting those years when she really needed a woman in her life to explain all the things happening to her body.

“I think it’s nice. It’s private and quiet out here. Though, a woman was swimming in the lake a little while ago. I think she was naked.”

“Don’t be silly. Who in the world would swim naked in a lake?”

She shrugged. “It’s what I saw.”

“Maybe you need to get your eyes checked.” He kissed her forehead. “Let’s go. I need to get you to school and contact the movers.”

“All right. But my vision is perfect.”

He gave her a stern look. “No need to argue.” He was not looking forward to the teen years one bit.

Two hours later, he had everything scheduled with a company that could pack up their stuff the next weekend and deliver it. They’d still drive back to make sure things went smoothly, but he was ready for this transition to be over. He did miss his grandmother deeply, but he also couldn’t wait finally to have a place for him and Keri to call their own.

Hopefully they were on their way to a new start. Daniel couldn’t believe he had landed a job so quickly. It felt as though everything was finally lining up just right.

Speaking of jobs, he was due to stop by and formally meet the staff. It was an hour until lunch. To get on his new team’s good side, perhaps he’d stop and pick up a few pizzas. He was all about making a good first impression.

After finding a pizza shop, he drove a block to his new work. He entered the office, and a woman behind a glass window perked up. “Oh my, that smells really good.”

“I’m glad. I’m here to deliver lunch.”

“Well, let me get out of this chair and open the door for you.” The door opened right away and as he stepped through, he heard the woman holler toward the back of the clinic. “Hot delivery man on his way, ladies. Line up for a look!”

Daniel laughed. “Which way to the employee room?”

“Three doors to your left. I’m going to go put up a sign that I’ll be back momentarily. I intend to get some of that food before it’s gone.”

Entering the employee workroom, he glanced around for a place to set the food. He spotted a large table near a whiteboard. He laid the boxes down on a faux wood table, then nervously tapped his fingers on the hard surface while waiting for the staff to arrive.

The woman he’d met up front walked into the room. “You’re not a delivery boy, are you?”

He shook his head, not wanting to say too much if Dr. Hancock hadn’t said anything. “No.”

“Let me go see what the holdup is. Not sure how the smell of this food doesn’t have them flocking in here.” She disappeared out the doorway.

A pretty brunette with a rounded belly entered and made a beeline for the pizza without sparing him a second glance. Moments later, several others followed. No one said anything; they just took their seats and stared at him. This was getting uncomfortable fast.

Then came Dr. Hancock. “Ah, Daniel, you shouldn’t have. But, I’m glad you did. I’m starving.” The older man turned to his staff. “Eat.”

“Is everyone here?” Daniel asked.

“Ah, all but Ms. Collins. I swear I just saw her. Wonder what’s keeping her.” Dr. Hancock put several pieces of pizza on a plate, then took his seat.

“Want to tell us who this man is, Dr. Hancock?” The pregnant one took another bite of pizza.

“This is Dr. Jacobs. I’ll be retiring soon, and he’s taking my place.”

“What!” A curvy woman exclaimed.

“I’m getting old. I want to travel.” Dr. Hancock brought a slice of pizza to his mouth.

“I’m very excited to be joining this team. I’ve heard wonderful things.” Daniel stood back as the staff got their food. “I’ll tell you a little about me. I’ve got a child who keeps me busy when not working. We’re in the process of moving from out of state. And I’m a huge college football fan. Please, introduce yourselves.”

“I’m Kim. You met me already.” The one from the reception gave him a nod. “And I like football as well as baseball.”

The pregnant one raised her hand. “I’m Molly, and I currently have a future soccer player in my stomach. That pretty much sums up my life at the moment.”

“Theresa.” The curvy woman held her hand up. “I’m not into sports at all. Though, I will watch the race every now and then.”

“All we’re missing is…” Dr. Hancock started, but then Daniel lost all focus when she walked in.

She hadn’t changed a bit in the past few years. Her long blonde hair was tied back in a dangling ponytail. Her green scrubs hugged her perfect body. Her blue eyes bore back at him. She must have recognized him as well.

“Daniel.” Sandy spoke in a whisper.

“Do you know our new head doctor?” Kim asked.

“Head doctor?”

“Yeah, Dr. Hancock is retiring.”

Before Daniel could speak, Sandy raced out of the room.

Cover Reveal - Tempting The Manny

Picture Tempting the Manny is getting a makeover - both inside and out!

At the end of October, I got my rights back to this story and took to heart the things readers have told me about the story in the year and a half it was published previously. I've made changes inside. I've changed some scenes around and fixed a lot of grammatical issues I was surprised to find (It had been edited prior). I tried to remove a lot of the telling I found and show more.

I hope when this story hits shelves again, you'll pick it up. And when it does release, I plan to launch it at 99cents for a limited time!

Check back for more details soon!

So, what do you think of the new cover?

Pregnancy In Romance?

I've been noticing a trend in my romances--pregnancy. You'd think I had babies on my mind. That I want to be pregnant myself. Wrong! I've got two kids that I love dearly and they are enough. I don't need anymore, nor do I desire to be pregnant again. Okay, well, I'd love to have 9 months to my life again where I can eat whatever I want and blame it on the baby. However, I don't want the baby that comes with it. So why the heck am I always creating heroines who are pregnant?

Yeah, good question. I'd like to know as well. I'm currently working on the second book in a series (The Gentleman's Club) and yesterday I wrote a very intense few scenes where my heroine Jamie has learned she's pregnant. And she wasn't wanting to be. I think anyone who has ever had an unexpected pregnancy or has thought they were will relate to this scene. The fear that was in Jamie's life as it all boils down to one little stick she's peed on. Personally, I think a pregnant woman adds a new layer to the story. The man has to step up and win his woman or vice versa. The two characters need to get their acts together and discover the love they've always wanted.

Each story I've written with pregnancy in it has been different from the rest. So each is unique in it's own way, or so I hope.

If you happen to life pregnancy in stories, check out these below. Picture Picture Picture

Rules Are Meant To Be Broken. #NaNoWriMo

Picture I'm doing NaNoWriMo again this year. The point is to write 50k (50,000 words) in 30 days. Which means you need to write 1667 words a day. Not hard, really. Or so I say that as an author who writes constantly anyway.

I participated last year with just the goal to write 50k. I wasn't working on one project at the time. And I completed the goal. Yay! In case you're curious. I finished up the Wanted: Wife during that time and wrote The Naked Truth.

I told myself this year, I would start a new story fresh on November 1st and only write that book. Yup, and I did that. Started a new story called Ticket To Love. I've been excited about starting this story for awhile. I had hoped to finish my current work in progress before NaNo, but that didn't happen. Some things happened in my personal life that pulled me away from writing temporarily. Since my creativity seemed to be zapped anyway, it was easy to put the story aside. Well, until this morning. Damn it! The whole entire plot just clicked in my head. I was at the point in the story where I wasn't sure what I wanted to happen. I was scratching my head and grasping for the characters to help. Today they did. Gee, thanks!

So what does that mean? Once again, I'll be a rule breaker. I'm going to work on both books. My NaNo project, as well as the other. I figure, while they are both flowing, I might as well take advantage of it, right? Write on one until I get to a point where I need to make sure it's write, then write on the other. Perhaps I'll hit more than 50k this way.

After all, all that really matters is that I write the 50k in 30 days, right? It doesn't necessarily have to be the same story. Well, there is always next year to stick to the rules I suppose. :)

Two Years Published And A Giveaway!

Picture I cannot believe that this week Amber's Muse, my debut erotic novella turns 2. TWO! I can't believe that I've been doing this for two years and how much things have changed.

Throughout the past two years, I've tried my hand at all kinds of different little projects and have now settled into writing sensual contemporary romances. In these past two years I've established my voice in my writing. One that I hope readers like and stands out. Often times I hear from people that my writing is real. I bring real life and issues into my books. Whenever I hear this, it makes me happy. It really does.

I've done a lot since Amber's Muse, but this book will always be special to me. I learned so much with writing, editing, and publishers with this one story. Check out my BOOKS PAGE - where all my books are listed. Then, come back and enter this giveaway below on the rafflecopter.

I've decided to giveaway 5 book to 5 different people. I'm still a small author and I want to get into more hands. And if you have read me (Thank You!), I want you to have a chance to win a book as well. This giveaway is eBook only. Good luck and thank you for entering! a Rafflecopter giveaway
