And OKAY...I guess y'all really came because you wanted behind the scenes photos with my cover models, right? Okay. here are some to keep you happy!
And an excerpt! **Warning: This does contain language and some violence.**
Every time my fist smacked against the bag, I expected a surge of pain, but nothing came. I was numb. All I did was hit the bag for days, trying to get my head somewhere else, anywhere else but my reality.“Nicky, I think you killed it. That plastic thing isn’t going to ever see its little punching bag babies again.” Coach stood next to the bag, looking at me with his eyebrows creased and a bead of sweat glistening on his forehead like it always did when he was nervous.“Just lemme get a few more punches in. That’s all I need.” I took a few more jabs at the bag. I wanted to feel something. Anything. But still there was nothing.Coach grabbed my wrists, stopping them in mid air. “Nicky, you’ve had enough. It’s late. Tracy’s called at least twenty times to tell me to get my ass home. It’s past nine. I’ve missed dinner and putting the kids to bed.”He gripped tighter onto my wrists. “It’s time to leave. The fight’s this weekend. You’re ready, kid. You know that as well as I do.”I slumped my shoulders and shook my head. I’d been at the gym a lot longer than I thought. Every part of my body groaned from those tiny movements. Finally some sort of feeling. “Yeah, say that when el Lobo has his foot in my ass or some other move he pulls out. I need to be ready for him. That fucker fights dirtier than he looks.”Coach sighed, dropping my wrists. “You’re your father’s son, Nicky.”I stared at him. The defeat in his eyes. He didn’t mean the words as an insult but they hit me harder than punch ever could. My father was never who I wanted to be.“You’re right, Coach.” I turned away slowly and walked to the weight bench, sitting down. I slowly peeled back the tape that bound my hands. They were so worn from the day’s wear that they looked more gray than the bright white they were when I first got to the gym after work.Coach walked over and patted my shoulder. “You’re a good kid, Nicky. You just have a hard head sometimes.”“Yeah, yeah.” I didn’t look up from my hands, just focused on unwrapping each one, instead of looking up at the disappointed glint in his eyes. It was the same conversation we had every night. He’d ask me to come to stop by his house, make some crack about his old lady making too much food anyway and how the kids wouldn’t bother me too much. I’d, of course, say I had some work to catch up on from the office or that my mom was making pasta and asked me to stop by. None of which were true and he knew it.But tonight he didn’t fight me. “All right, Nick, think ya can lock up when you’re done? You know, the old lady has been on my ass out being out late every night and with the fight this weekend ...” his words trailed off. I didn’t need to look up to know that he was raking his fingers through his salt and pepper crew cut, the way he always did when he was nervous. I’d seen it a million times when I was in the cage.“Yeah, Coach, you’re fine. Go, be with Tracy and the kids. You don’t need to babysit me. I’ll be fine.”“You sure?”I stopped unwrapping my hands and looked up at him, forcing a smile. Did I really want him to leave so that I would be alone? No. Sure, I could have called up my cousin Dominic, but he would probably still be at the Candy Shop. Some guys enjoyed going to the strip club every night. To me, it would always be the place that my father did his backroom deals with some battona on his lap. I knew all of this because he started taking me when I was in middle school. He said I had to learn the family business young if I was going to take over.“Yeah, Coach, I’m positive. Now go on. Don’t make me kick your ass.” I patted him on the back.“Not before the fight, Nick. Save that for the scumbag wolf, will ya?” He stepped back, holding his hands up. I imagine that at some point Coach was a good fighter and could probably still hold up with the best of them, but now in his early forties, he wasn’t as spry as he used to be and I was pretty sure I could take him out with one kick. Though I’d never try, but if someone else did I’d kill them. That was a fact.“Will do.”He nodded and stared at me, shoving his hands in his pockets. I knew he wanted to say something else, but we both knew that he wouldn’t. That wasn’t his style. He kicked the shit out me in training and in the cage. Other than that, he tried to stay out of it too much. That’s why he had stayed in my life so long.“Goodnight, Nick.” “Night, Coach.”

Makenzie Pierce knows this better than anyone.
After losing everything that was important to her, her fiancé, job and home, she is about to start her life all over again from nothing. One morning, a chance encounter seems to be changing her luck and at first it seems for the better … but is it?
Rocco Cole also knows only too well how hard life can be. After suffering a tragic accident, one which almost stole his life, his world imploded into a mess of both abuse and pain, leaving him nothing but a deeply broken man. Vowing to never trust or ever love again, could it really be possible for him to let someone in after only one meeting? Can a simple encounter change everything he ever believed about himself?
Makenzie is drawn to the chemistry between herself and Rocco, but as he continues to pull away from her, without any reason, she has to decide whether he is worth fighting for. Is she the one woman that can make him believe that he is worth something to someone? And can she be that someone? When she finally uncovers the truth, Mackenzie has to decide if she is the one who can help change the demons that live inside the man that she thinks she can so easily fall in love with.
Life is never easy, but sometimes the things you really want and need can be worth fighting for, even when you have to take a huge leap of faith and follow your heart, Into The Deep.
Author BioFollowing a lifelong passion for reading and writing, I am finally writing my first novel, Into The Deep. Wife to a wonderful husband and mother to three amazing and tiring kids. I have been married since 2002 to my best friend and he still makes me laugh….but yes I still want to strangle him sometimes! I am an avid reader, I think there is nothing better than getting curled up in my reading chair with my kindle. To give me a valid excuse for reading so much I also blog with Books, Coffee and Wine. My other passion is music, I have very varied tastes so one minute I can be listening to Hinder and the next I will be listening to Cyndi Lauper. I also love horror movies, the scarier the better…..I will read romance but I just can't do chick flicks! I live in Scotland, in a small village in the middle of nowhere so reading lets me travel the world, the only way a mother can. I would love to actually travel the world but I’m not the best at traveling. Flying scares me and boats are a no no…..so I don't go away very often. I have so many friends who I have met on this amazing journey and they have helped me so much, keeping me right so I don't make any major mistakes and I truly love them for being there.

Dawn Pendleton is a new adult author who began her writing journey in New England with her husband and their pup, though she recently moved to Georgia and promptly became a Southern Belle (or so she likes to think). When she isn't staring at a blank page, willing the words to jump from her head to the screen, she's usually playing on her iPhone, reading a book, or taking pictures with her fancy camera (which she has no idea how to use).

Amy Maurer Jones has been happily married to her own version of Edward Cullen for sixteen years. She lives in the small town of Tabor City, North Carolina (close to the North and South Carolina shore) with her husband Kelly and their two beautiful children, Olivia and Keaton.
Amy loves reading and writing Young Adult because she finds young people inspiring. Author's NoteA Zebra Like Me is a work of fiction but Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome and the message in this story are very real. I have EDS and I’ve learned to live with this disease. Sadly, much of my battle has been seeking compassion and finding acceptance from those who don’t understand it. My mission in publishing this book is two-fold.

Throwback Thursday: How to Break up with an Alien
Most #throwbackthursday or #tbt posts are people putting up pictures of them from high school or grade school, but I decided to do something different. I'm going to post excerpts and teasers from my older books that y'all might not be as familiar with. Maybe this meme will catch on. Maybe it wont.
Last #ThrowbackThursday I did a post from How to Date an Alien, so today I'm continuing on with the alien tried and posting an excerpt from How to Break up with an Alien. Enjoy!
One would think that saving the world from evil aliens would be enough to exempt me from my senior year of high school. Or even the fact that I was promised to the prince of Calta, home of said evil aliens. A future Caltian princess needed her beauty sleep. But no, I was expected to join the non-alien masses in Advanced Senior English at 8 a.m., which meant I had to be awake enough to get through my school and work day. Only there weren't enough sheep in the world to count my way into sleep. My anger and annoyance kept me wide awake.
A brilliant blue light streamed down from my bedroom ceiling, reflecting off the mirror above my dresser.
“You’re late,” I mumbled, not even lifting my head from the pillow.
The light disappeared and the weight shifted on the left side of my bed. A cold burst of air bore through my covers and I knew that my alien was nearby.
“I’m sorry. There was some sort of Martian threat on the Utah capital and I had to handle it.” Ace’s warm fingers brushed against my cheek. The rest of his body might have been cold, but his hands were always warm and left me with a sensation that I couldn't resist. It felt like rubbing aloe on a sunburn.
“A likely excuse.” I opened my eyes and grabbed my glasses from the nightstand, placing them on my face and sitting up next to him.
“But I brought you something.” He grinned, pulling a box from behind his back with a giant cartoon purple dinosaur on it.
“Feeble Weebles!” I tried not to scream and wake up my family in the middle of the night, but it was freaking Feeble Weebles! The Caltian cereal that was like Lucky Charms but with only marshmallows.
“So does this make up for me being late?” He leaned in closer.
I nearly brushed my lips against his, pulling the cereal from his grasp. “I’ll think about it.”
“Oh, come on, for me?” He lifted his eyebrows and flashed his irresistible smile that could have been on its own cereal box.
I swallowed, setting the box on my nightstand. I tried to think of something to say instead of just staring at the way his temperature control suit molded to body. With his body's normal temperature being half of what a human's was, he always had to wear it when he visited, which was supposed to be around ten o’clock instead of two in the morning.
"I just wanted to come and wish you luck on your first day of school and work." He ran his fingers along where my sleeve met my arm. "Sorry, I couldn’t get here earlier.”
“Is this what it’s always going to be like?” I looked up to meet his eyes. They were endless pools of black, a bit frightening, but intriguing at the same time.
“Always like what?” He lay down next to me, his long body spreading along my twin-sized bed while he propped his spiky-haired head up on his extended arm.
I sighed. “Me waiting up for you, only to have you show up late or busy with some alien duty.”
Ace shook his head, his hair brushing against my headboard. “I hope not. Once you are at Northern Arizona, I can arrange to see you more often. Then I lay down next to him, pressing my body to his. His muscles shivered underneath me, and even through the temperature control suit I could feel his icy hot chill. “How about you figure out how to beam me places, and then I can just come see you at work whenever I want?”
Ace pressed his forehead to mine, his eyes dark and close. “Why must you ask me questions that you know are impossible?”
“Impossible things are happening every day.”
Ace let out a silent laugh, the cold air blowing through his nose and tickling my lips. “You stayed up watching musicals while you were waiting for me, didn’t you?”
“I can sing some of them if you would like.”
“I think there is something better that you can do with your mouth than sing.”
He tilted his head and pressed his lips to mine. After waiting all night for him, the electric current his touch sent through my lips and all the way down almost made up for it. Almost.
"Alex?" a woman's voice rang through the door.
Crap, my mom. I broke the kiss and put my finger to my lips. Ace rolled off the side of my bed and crawled underneath it. I pulled the comforter up and over the side to try and hide him the best I could.
The door squeaked open and mom poked her blond mess of hair in. She reached her fingers under her thick glasses, rubbing her eyes. “Is everything alright? I thought I heard something?”
"Oh, no, just woke up and thought I would listen to some Ira Glass podcasts.” I pushed the comforter farther onto the side of my bed, hoping that she wouldn't walk over and see Ace lying between the bed and the window.
"Oh.” She glanced at my IPod in the dock. Hopefully she was too sleepy and wouldn’t realize that nothing was actually on. “Well you should probably get to sleep. I know the first day of school is exciting, but it'll be better if you are awake for it. You need your rest."
"Okay, I will do that.”
She nodded and I thought she would leave the room, but instead she walked over to my nightstand. My heart pounded as I thought about how close she was to finding Ace under my bed. Hopefully he didn’t breathe too loud.
“What is this?” She picked up the box of Feeble Weebles, squinting at the giant purple dinosaur.
“Just some cereal I got the other day. Been hiding it in my room so I wouldn’t have to share with Elijah.” Good excuse, Alex, Good excuse.
Mom shook her head. “I’ve never seen anything like this before.”
I shrugged. “Yeah it’s new.”
“Huh. Alright, well next time let me know when you get a box and I will try and get some for Elijah as well.”
“Will do.”
Finally she walked to the door and closed it behind her. I waited until I heard the door to her bedroom shut before I pulled up the comforter and leaned over the side of the bed. But Ace wasn't there. Nothing but dust bunnies.
Huh.
I sat back up and felt something cold against my back. I looked up and there was Ace, kneeling behind me.
"Looking for something?" He placed his hands on my shoulders and brushed his lips to my forehead.
If only I had the speed that my alien boyfriend had, then I could just zip through my senior year and forget about distance and mom’s annoyingly great sense of hearing. But when said alien boyfriend was in my bed, I wanted nothing more than the opposite speed. I wanted to freeze time to keep everything just the way it was. Want more of How to Break up with an Alien?

Teaser Tuesday
With the new year approaching I bet you all wonder what I've been working on?
Well I guess it's time for #TeaserTuesday to return on the blog, ey?
Maybe with some photo teasers that we all love to hate?
WELL YOU'RE GETTING THEM ANYWAY!
Ready to get Wild? Book three in the Forever Wild serial is coming! The cover reveal is the 6th and you can sign up for that now! I don't have the official blurb because Inkslinger doesn't seem to want to take "Sexy stripper point of view with sex" as the final blurb, so I have to think of something else. The tentative release date is January 16th, but I get trigger happy and it could be out earlier :) Add it to your GoodReads now and if you want to know exactly when my books come out you can sign up for my newsletter on the side there and get an email when they come out.
This is the mafia book that I've been talking about AND did the cover shoot with my model friend Steven. I had almost half of this written and then decide that it was going to be written entirely from his point of view so I scraped it. I will have a new blurb up for you all shortly and put it on GoodReads (maybe by next teaser Tuesday) and the link for cover reveal sign-ups because Sarah Hansen (with Okay Creations!) will be starting on the cover shortly!
And the one a lot of you have been waiting for. On Paper Wings. The continuation of My Paper Heart. It's been on GoodReads for awhile, but it will finally be out this summer and the official blurb will be up soon! What books are you looking forward to the most? Any more teasers you want to see next week?
