Description:

This is the second book in the Ghost Reaper series and there will be a third. They are awesome to write and the words came easy. Heck I wanted a play on Jennifers body and it dealing with demonic possession. It is awesome and a reverse harem with spicy scenes, multiple relationships and ghosts galore!

Excerpt:

I never wanted to be possessed by a ghost, but then again I didn’t have a choice. I should have known it was coming when Roman started acting different. He told me at one point it was meant to be, and I’d always be his before he downed his whiskey in one gulp. But I’m getting off track here, let me start from the beginning where, and when this all started.

Roman and I were doing a paranormal investigation late into the night. It was getting close to three in the morning, and the witching hour was weighing on us. That’s when we pulled into a driveway of an old, abandoned house, and decided to investigate it.

Normally this wouldn’t be a place that would make the hairs on the back of your neck stand up, but this house had an eerie feeling. This feeling started even before we got out of the car, but decided to investigate it further. Roman gave me that look of curiosity and fear mixed together.

We stood side by side looking at the house and the surrounding areas, and knew we weren’t amongst regular ghosts. Whatever was here was dark, yet inviting. Roman took my hand and pulled it to his lips to kiss it like he did before we went into any ghost infested house.

“Come on Harley, it’s time for us to earn our paycheck.” Roman said.

I smiled at him, and we approached the house with extreme caution. When we got to the front door it opened before we even touched the knob. This was a sign of a powerful haunting.

Roman looked inside the door frame and everything looked dark. He stepped over the threshold, and I followed him inside. When we cleared the door it slammed shut behind us.

After the door slammed shut the room lit up like a 1920’s lounge with a bar. There seemed to be a theme to the room where everyone was dressed in modern formal attire with the exception of one man. He stood out and my eyes zoned in on him immediately.

This man was tall with rusty almost brown hair, and his eyes drank me in like a cocktail. He stared at my body like it was a feast to be shared. When he sauntered over to us he held out his hand to Roman first.

“Welcome to The Roxette Lounge and Bar. My name is Noah Jones, and if there’s anything you two need just let me know.” He said introducing himself.

Noah had Roman’s hand in his, but his eyes never left mine. This man was every woman’s dream even if she had a specific type, she was dreaming about him. Roman cleared his throat and looked at me. I knew my face was flushed when he gave me that questioning look.

“I’m Roman Wilson and this is Harley Calix my girlfriend.” He replied introducing the two of us.

“Roman Wilson, hmm, that name sounds very familiar to me. Have we met before?” Noah asked.

“I don’t think so. I’m sure I would have remembered you.” Roman replied.

“You’re a necro witch, are you not?” Noah asked.

“I am, how did you know that?” Roman asked, confusion written all over his face.

“Ah, I make it my business to know about all the creatures here in Luxor. You’ve come from a long line of necromancers and witches alike. Your people are very entuned with the dead, and well I enjoy their company just the same.” Noah replied.

“Are all of these people dead?” I asked, looking around at the people who paid us no mind.

“No, they’re all just friends of mine.” Noah replied.

“So, are any of them demon possessed?” I asked bluntly.

Noah gave off a laugh and it was like music to my ears. I could feel it from my hair follicles down to my toes. Everything about this man beckoned to all of my senses, and I wanted more of it.

“Would the two of you like a drink?” Noah asked, ignoring my earlier question.

“I’d like one, but we’ve got somewhere we’ve got to be. Harley, are you ready?” Roman asked.

“Yes.” I replied, but kept my eyes trained on Noah.

“Well, you two must come again and bring your friends. Harley I can’t tell you what a pleasure it is to meet you. I hope you come again very soon.” Noah said, taking my hand in his.

Before I could react Noah was kissing the knuckles of my right hand, and I was breathing heavily. This man was talking to my inner sex goddess not to my human form, and he knew just how to do it. Roman took my left hand in his and gave it a squeeze, and I was brought back to the reason we stopped here in the first place.

Noah released my hand and walked to the door behind us. Roman and I both turned around just as Noah opened the door to the outside world. Roman took a few steps and pulled me along, and Noah stopped him.

“Do bring your friends when you return tomorrow night. I’d like to introduce you to a new way of life.” Noah said.

“Thank you.” Roman said, and we stepped over the threshold to the outside world.

This series is one of my faves and there will be another book with the beginning of The Killer Contract agency in adult form. That makes 24 books when it gets published and 9 of them are being rewritten after the last Ghost Reaper book. It will pave the way for more series. I’m still going to work on Fur and Fang of love, Scarlet Retribution and Redemption. There is more and I will be getting my custom live2d model soon so some awesome stuff in the queue!

Made a hard decision lately I took some of my books off Amazon!

I did it because I want to get the books redited. I want them to have new covers, titles and better edited. I published them at a time where I didn’t know waht I was doing or how to plot or outline. It was at a time when I would put what I went through in books. Also, they were too short as well. Not enough details and there were some reviews where they said it was too short, needed a better outline or it was repetitive. Now, I’m going to prove them wrong and give all 9 of my books the editing they need. They will be back but better. 

Ghost Reaper book 2 is done with editing my editor just needs a good read through and then I can publish. I’ve been dealing with adjusting going back to work and it is hard getting up in the morning but it is nice having weekends off again. Heck looking back I with I spent more time writing instead of stressed over the job stuff. I had much more free time being unemployed now I write after work and on weekends. But I want to give my books the best chance they can have it needed a rewrite bad since I’ve grown so much more as a writer. More books will be in store since I want to write books, stream on Twitch and do Youtube videos full time so I can eventually leave the day job for good. I was kind of sad having to go back and felt like I failed but bills need to be paid and so does rent and groceries. Now with a day job I can focus on stuff I love doing and getting the ground running for it. 

Also with 11 books in the queue editing isn’t exactly cheap so I’ll be planning my first Twitch subathon to raise money for the book editing. It is a good price for it too and she is one of the best editors stay tuned some fun stuff is planned ahead!

I’m running a deal on Ghost Reaper it is only $1.99 till June 12th this is the cool thing about kindle unlimited is you can do deals on books once per run. It will be fun to see if that gets more people interested. My editor is working on the next book which has sex and possesion it is a twist on demonic possession and I’ll be introducing more realms in the next one. I’ve been slowly adjusting to the day job I think the hardest part is not being able to sleep in so that is a factor. I even have a marketing plan already I have posted instagram videos, youtube, tiktok, posted it in various groups. When I stream on Twitch it will be promoted during my streams too. Being an author and content creator is alot but one day I can do it full time that is the dream. I have enough books to take it full time so hoping with more books comes the readers and getting myself out there. My hope is to get enough books to write full time but at least the day job isn’t bad. 730–4 and off weekends I can write in my spare time. 

I’ll be writing more articles in the coming days especially once I get used to my new schedule. Also, the other annoying thing about books is all these annoying ass book promoters they just love annoying you when you try to write. As I write this people are bugging me like come on. Also, there are books about marketing so I suggest reading those. Never pay for what you can do for free!

My name is Layla FireStar, and I’m a ghost talker. I’ve been a ghost talker since the day I was born, and I’ve perfected my craft in ways most can only dream of. Some ask what’s the difference in talking, seeing, and crossing ghosts over, and a ghost talker. I don’t just see, talk, and cross ghosts over, I can turn them from transparent back into their human form.

The downside of being able to turn ghosts back into their human form is that we’re more susceptible to being possessed by them. When someone like me is possessed by a ghost we’re able to drain their energy, and take full possession of their power. Most would say this is rumor, but I’ve lived it.

I’ve lived it in ways that have given me a name amongst the entire underground network of ghost talkers. It’s not paying the bills yet, but I hold my own. Of course, my human connections by day have no clue about my side hustle.

Keeping my side hustle quiet while covering the dark circles under my stark gray eyes with makeup has become a feat. I always feel like I’ve just fallen asleep when the alarm sounds at six o’clock in the morning. Today was no different after the night I had in the underworld of the supernatural.

I’ve been to many haunted houses, but this one was by far the most active. I was going on a supernatural journey of discovery. The power radiated all over the house and that was something I’d never felt before.

I was surrounded by the pure energy of the evil ghost that haunted this house. I could feel the icy cold of their closeness, and it was bone chilling. I could tell that one of them was trying to take over my body, so I fought against it while another one was trying to pull on my long black hair.

I ran my fingers through my hair and pulled it up in a messy bun ready for a fight. The ghost that was tugging at my hair grew angry with me for putting it up. He pushed me, and stumbled forward.

Now that I knew where he was I did a little spell and brought him into focus. His eyes bore down on me like two black hollow vacant holes that was looking right through me. I stood there glaring back at him, trying not to show the fear that was quaking on the inside.

“What brings you here?” He asked.

“You summoned me.” I replied.

He laughed a deep throaty laugh, but it was sinister not happy.

“Do you know for a fact it was me, or is this an assumption?” He asked.

“Only someone who wants to take another life will summon someone like me. So, I’d say this was more fact than assumption.” I replied.

“What’s your name child?” He asked.

“You already know my name or else you wouldn’t have summoned me.” I replied.

“I know more about you than anyone else here. But you don’t seem to be interested in who I am.” He said.

“Does it matter who you are?” I asked.

“I guess if you just want to get rid of me it wouldn’t matter. However, maybe you should be a little bit curious.” He replied, and reached out grabbing my arm.

The moment he touched my arm I could feel the freezing cold hand grasp onto my inner psyche. He immediately took over my mind to one of my most horrible memories. A memory that drove me to practice this craft of ghost talking, and take down what took my beloved mother.

My mother’s face flashed before my eyes. Her fair skin was the same as mine slightly kissed by the sun. She was dressed in full gear fighting a haunted house.

The house looked a lot like this one, but this house didn’t look like it had been burned down. My mother was lost along with two of her team members in a necromancer fire back in 2025. But I couldn’t figure out what he was trying to show me, until his face came into the light of the fire.

Like really who would fall for this crap? Not me and I’ve been getting these assholes daily it is annoying. 

One was stupid to ask if I was an author when I clearly told them I used a booktoker to promo my book on Tiktok so told them I guess you can’t read since I do tiktok videos. Then said good talk and the dumbass kept begging me to recommend them to an author or introduce them and said please. No, Why? Because you can’t read. 

I have had a trailer done and the stupid idiot say well you tried and it isn’t professional. Then one made fun of my mock up and again said it isn’t professional. The dumbass even described what a mock up is as if I didn’t know it already. I’ve had several point out my books “poor” performance on some bs metric site. Kinda shitty since the book has been out a week. They try so hard to scam me on their bs marketing services. 

Let me give you my marketing plan to shut up all these idiot book marketers.

I advertised on Tiktok with Tiktok ads, paid Facebook ads, paid a booktoker to talk a few videos about my books and promote it on their Tiktok and Instagram. Did a Youtube unboxing of my book, posted it on X, Insta, Threads, Bluesky, Hive, Medium, Substack, Discord. Everything want to know what else works? Writing the next book because readers build up over time you can’t just promo one book especially if you have 23 like me. It take time and posting to the groups in your books genre. These markers have fake first and last names, and they aren’t legit either. Stolen pics and shit english one even called spam sperm like wtf. Someone even said I shouldn’t use Vellum or Atticus to format my books and said it was causing trouble for other authors yeah right. Get fucking lost. I don’t use Word or the other program. Another annoying thing was she was bugging me at work. They are also stupid and can’t read many will try to put you into their services which is bullshit. We don't have money like they think we do. I left alot of the promo groups since it was full of their whiny clickbaity posts. Like you can tell they are scammers! My facebook messages are friends and family only since people want to argue like assholes and can’t take fucking no for an answer. 

Here is how to spot them!

I don’t have time to argue with idiots who don’t want to listen. I already promo my stuff. But the thing that works best is working on the next book to get a body of work. I’m also in training for a day job and I recently decided to get another apple pencil to try my hand with Procreate and emotes for Twitch. Writing is going ehh since these book marketers are so annoying I don’t want to think about books right now. But with this new job more books are on the way! And more articles. More Youtube content, Instagram and Tiktoks got more in store so stay tuned!

Why I don't need your book promo services or digital marketing ones!

My book hasn’t even been out a month and I’ve been promoting it on X, Tiktok, Instagram, Youtube, did Tiktok ads, Facebook and posted about in my blogs, Ko-fi and buymeacoffee. I did all I could to shout my book out even made a trailer see below:

I also promoted my books in various book promos, and even targeted reverse harem groups with the promo below:

I did all I could and my next step is focusing on making more books. That is the key to being successful write in the genre and publish more to build a backlist. It is the only way to get readers and all it takes is one. And the thing about posting in those groups is alot of idiot scammer book promoters and digital marketers will send me messages to hire them and it is annoying. It’s not just shouting buy my book not to mention they have terrible grammar, stolen pics, and they prey on new writers. It is annoying trying to promote my books and having these idiots comment then try to get me to use their services. You can do alot for free without paying anyone to market it for you. Also there are even authors who are supposedly best sellers to talk to you about book promos and reviews. One even sent me the link and said what do you observe like I was a school kid. Author 101 is to talk about your book. Also, how much I make in book sales is no one’s concern but mine. I also get reviews are important but this isn’t my full time job and as I’m in between jobs I don’t have money to hire anyone and I won’t. One dumbass even said they don’t have 3D mockups in Canva.

Lies they do and the dumbass wanted to say there wasn’t. Also you can make book trailers for free in Canva too don’t let anyone charge you for it. I’m just sick of the idiots who try to get me to do their services when I don’t have money.

Also with plenty of free ways you don’t need them. I’ve been publishing for 14 years 23 books to my name I don’t need help from people who can’t even do their jobs right. There are pics below for you to see the signs they are a scammer.

Anyways I start my new job next week and I’ll be working on the next Ghost Reaper book this is book 1:

Publishing my book tomorrow and updates!

I finally have a day job and I start on the 20th unemployment was fun in a way, but I need a steady job so I can afford to write and publish more. Writing is my passion and I also needed steady income for rent and bills since writing doesn’t pay the bills yet. I want to eventually write full time but it takes a while and more books to build a reader base. It is why I find all the book marketers contacting me lately fucking annoying since you can’t just publish on book and expect it to be a best seller. Those are rare and it takes multiple books and building a back list to be successful. I’ll get there eventually and this book is reverse harem paranormal romance it is also where Luxor, Crystal Crest and AngelWitches got their start. It is marketed for adults. There is torture and sex scenes in it so definitely a first for me about writing a book like this. Now, that I don’t have to waste time job searching I can focus on my books, articles, and content for my Youtube channels, Tiktok videos and Instagram posts. I plan on doing more content as I can till the 20th then after I steady work I can do content after work and weekends. This book is also going in Kindle Unlimited since those books tend to do better then wide and the rest.

I’ll still never get over the dude saying I cannot publish full novels on my Medium yes I can as long as I’m not on Kindle Unlimited which is the only time you cannot upload ebooks to other sites. I’ve been publishing for 14 years and this will be book 23. 23! Not many people can say that! I have a ton of ideas for my novels I even have a book dedicated to novel ideas. Latest one I got inspiration from Jennifers Body I wanted to play with demonic posession with a twist and it set off a series idea I wanted to do. It is a good movie and I want to do a blog post about why!

I'll be writing about my entire publishing journey and here is how to tell if it is a fake job scam!

So I’ve had this idea for a while. I’ve been wanting to put all my writings from my website to my Ko-fi and Patreon and give people content not found anywhere else. I’m currently still unemployed but in the mean time I want to get my books, Youtube and Twitch streams going. The job search is easily frustrating for me. I’ve run into countless scammers. It is tiresome like I put open to work on Linkedin and all these people contacted me I was excited at first but then it got to where I sent in my resume and they would just pick it apart and then say they have servies to help me. Like I got laid off no income so it is dumb of people to assume I could pay for it when I can do it for free online. That is why I hate scammers. Heck even had someone contact me asking to give him money to help promote my books:

Which is true you could tell he was a scammer by the way he wrote. Saying I needed to purchase somethings to promote my book. Like no. Even the Linkedin resume writers were fucking pushy too. No one understands that I don’t have a steady source of income yet. All this stuff you can do for free. It is currently being re-written to market right now. Hot alpha vampires, cute cat shifter, why choose, some spicy scenes and a few trigger warnings. I could always write about marketing when the time comes and I got scribe. I could do a step by step about formatting with Atticus and Vellum and a step by step publishing guide as well. Heck I want to do a book with comments on my past work like a behind the scenes thing! I’ve got a ton of plans in the works. I’ll be focusing less on the job bs and more on writing and content creation. I have lore I need to write, Fur and Fang of Love which is a supernatural reality tv show where girls compete to win the hearts of Zephyr and Hyperion a werewolf and vampire best friends. I’ve got like 30 pages of that. Then there is the second Ghost Reapers which deals with the scammers getting what they deserve. 

This is how to tell if a job is a scam or not:

Gmail is one.

Pay is 27 one time then 81 the next. 

bad grammar

Signal, Whatsapp, Skype, Teams and zoom might be ligitimate but I thought I had one yet he said he would need my address to send me a check. Red flag since if you deposit it then it will bounce and they will make excuses about needing it back. 

Also one said proofreader/online chat like make it make sense. They are 2 different jobs. 

Always do your research also the company hires you pretty fast. 

Sometimes it looks like a legit company and always look it up on Reddit to see if it is or not. It is a pain in the ass so I’ll apply to jobs and just work on my books and content in the meantime.
