March Garden Tour

It’s Autumn here, both during the video (filmed on March 28) and now, and the garden is winding down. I’m wondering whether to bother planting things for winter or not? Technically I’ve left it too late, but if I grab some started plants and baby them a bit, I could get some broccoli and cauliflower perhaps. Or some cabbages, maybe? I did it last winter, and my broccoli and cauliflower got plenty big enough, they just didn’t head – too much nitrogen, maybe? IDK. But the space I have to plant the...

Cook With Amy: Potato & Leek Soup

If I have to hear one more celebrity chef tell me that this meal “only takes 15 minutes” while standing in front of a bench covered with bowls of perfectly pre-diced and -sliced ingredients, I’m going to scream.
We all know it: those recipes DO NOT take 15 minutes to create.
That’s why I’ve created Cook With Amy, a monthly podcast where you can cook along with me in REAL time and see what’s it like to make a recipe when you DON’T have a bevy of assistants to do the prep work, when getting anything...

February Garden Tour, Ah Ha

So, this is a long one (well, 20 mins) which is why I’ve had a bunch of issues trying to get it from my phone to my computer. The joys of operating across different brand platforms.

Anyway, better late than never, here’s the Feb garden tour. Tune in next week for the March one, and then I guess April the week after that :’D

Urgh. I am so longing for more garden space right now.

Dodgiest Made-It Monday Ever

Welcome to #MadeItMonday, where I post something I’ve made in the previous week, and where you can join in and post something you made too! The rules are easy: post a pic somewhere of something you’ve made in the last week (ish; let’s say in the last month as the hard-and-fast) and tag it. Sit back and enjoy scrolling through all the beautiful things we’ve collectively created, and celebrate the fact that humans can be awesome!

Dodgiest ever, but legit this is the only thing I’ve created in ...

An Interview With Moi

Hi, do you wish to see my face? Do you wish to see my face WHILE IT’S TALKING?!?! HA.

Happy Friday. The lovely Barney from StoryComic had me on the show again and we had a blast chatting about indie vs. traditional publishing, my bizarre writing processes, why most of my books are set in Australia, and what I’m working on right now. You can check out the full video below, and it’s also available as a podcast wherever you like to get your podcasts from – just search for “StoryComic presents” ...

Your Future Self Thinks You’re Great

Just some midweek encouragement to keep us all going:

showerthoughtsofficial: Your future self is hating you for the poor decisions you’re making today.

coffeeandcastiel: bold of you to assume current me isnt also hating myself for making the decisions that i am making

duamuteffe: Hello, I am old and thus have a large amount of past self to think/have thought about, and I’d like you to know that your future self is looking back on your past self with mingled love and sorrow and co...

A Pair Of Short Stories To Entertain You (Free Read)

Today, I am once again part of The Infinite Bard, a weekly free short story group. You can head here to check out all the past stories – we’ve just eclipsed FIFTY, so there’s plenty of free reading there for you should you so desire 🙂 The stories come out on Wednesday every week (US time) and span the whole range of genres. Much fun!

Today I’m actually giving you TWO short stories, because they are both very short so I thought it’d be better value for your time if you got two 😀 This pair of st...
