Spring, Books, and Prices

Last week, Smashwords had a sale in celebration of ebooks. I must admit, the idea has inspired me. I think it would be a grand idea to keep my books at a special price for a while longer.


But what to celebrate? St. Patrick’s Day? Wait, who? A Catholic saint? Not on this blog, sorry. But there’s the general “Irish is cool” sentiment, with which I totally agree. I’ve been looking up Guinness recipes all day.

7/7 Blog Challenge in Which the Writer Tries to Catch Up

My friends are a kind and patient bunch. My Baycon cohort, Sandra Saidek, has learned the necessity of this the hard way. Sandy asked me a few weeks ago if I wanted to participate in her 7/7 Blog Challenge. Of course, I was delighted to do it, but right about then, all hell broke lose with one of my kids and my time was sucked into the vortex of worry, babysitting, hospital visits, and general parenting angst.

Creating Our Own Opportunities

If I was smarter or more ambitious, I’d be making some real money by now. Not by writing – although it’s probably just as true for that. No, I’m thinking about food, specifically, my flour mix.


I’ve been making this mix for years, for our own use. I’ve often given it away as gifts. I also use it to make a pancake/waffle mix. It’s low-gluten, not gluten-free, but I could tweak it a bit to make it that way. It’s certainly healthful.
